DARKNESS RISING
The Mandalorian Enclave Invasion of the Galactic Alliance was over just as quickly as hostilities between the two nations began. Though dealt a heavy blow, the Alliance managed to steady itself and regain momentum following the loss of multiple border worlds - each of which had been swiftly brought back into the Federal Assembly as the vast Armadas of GADF Warships and Relief Vessels that surged into the Southern Regions. However, though short-lived, the conflict was merely the beginning of a larger series of crises that would wrack the Galactic Alliance and the Galaxy at large, beginning with the Sith Order striking out from its holdings in the historical Sith Worlds of the Esstran Sector.
The Caldera Crisis marked the opening of conflict between the Galactic Alliance and the Sith Order as the latter struck against the planets of Yavin IV and Celanon. In turn, the Galactic Alliance deployed the GADF into the region to fight a defensive campaign in a bid to stop further encroachment and expansion of the Sith Order. During the events of the Caldera Crisis, the Alliance found new allies in the Mandalorian Protectors and even sought to assist in protecting the Rimward Trade League by deploying the Thesselon Squadron to assist at Susevfi.
It is during this time that we find Aether Systems fully embroiled in supporting the massive war machine that is the Galactic Alliance Defense Forces, specifically, the Galactic Alliance Navy. The Caldera Crisis, and the ensuing Chaos that it caused, resulted in the Corporation seeking to further protect its manufacturing assets in the Deep Core, resulting in the creation of the Javelin-class Frigate and the Aegis-class Heavy Cruiser. These Capital Ships have been specifically deployed within the Keera Major System to protect the vital Shipyards of Aether Systems located in the region. Aether Systems also began to plan additional designs, currently in the development phases, to further broaden their Corporate Fleet to better secure and protect their current assets in the Keera Major System.
With the conflict between the Galactic Alliance and the Sith Order growing in scope, Aether Systems saw the need to further bolster the Naval power of the Alliance and fill in what had been considered gaps in certain classifications that the Navy had been lacking. This led to the development and deployment of such vessels as the Agave-class Picket Ship and Warrior-class Gunships; thus beginning a series of designs that utilized a base design to produce multiple variations from a standardized hull and keel to rapidly produce multiple Capital Ships. This embracing of Standardization can also be seen in the similar designs shared by the Hajen-class Fleet Tender and the Sacheen-class Light Escort, as well as the Majestic-class Heavy Cruiser and the Defender-class Assault Carrier which were also produced in this fashion.
During this time, Aether Systems was contracted by the Galactic Alliance for an ambitious new project, the Modernization and replacement of the aging Dreadnoughts and Super Star Destroyers deployed by the Galactic Power. This vote of confidence, greatly empowered and only strengthened the deep ties between the Galactic Alliance and Aether Systems as the latter first developed the Starbird-class Star Defender which would go on to replace the older Plenipotentiary-class Dreadnoughts that had recently been decommissioned. With the newly established Starbird-class being deployed, Aether Systems then turned to a much more daunting task, one that would see the design and ultimately the deployment of the Viscount-class Sector Defender which would be christened the ANS Mon Mothma and serve as the Flagship of the Supreme Commander.
As the Caldera Crisis continued to grow, the squabbling of the Federal Assembly also threatened the efficiency and cohesion of the Alliance as voices called for action whilst turning around and preventing action from being taken. It was this concern, coupled with the crises that the Alliance faced both externally and internally, that resulted in the development of a contingency plan. The Solania Initiative was penned by the owner of Aether Systems, the current Galactic Alliance Supreme Commander, Amelia von Sorenn, and was intended to be implemented to provide a means by which the Alliance could protect itself and act without the need for approval from the Federal Assembly; as it would utilize many of the assets and infrastructure already established by Aether Systems to effective and rapidly produce a clandestine force. However, implementation of this Initiative was delayed as the Galactic Alliance found itself defending against an Invasion of the Deep Core.
Elements of the Brotherhood of the Maw had reestablished themselves in the Galaxy, and by utilizing an unknown means, had managed to strike at the heart of the Galactic Alliance. Though the Alliance fought hard, they were ultimately pushed out of the Deep Core, in part, due to this new Dark Empire utilizing vessels that had Cloaking Devices. Seeing this new threat, and seeking a counter, Aether Systems rapidly developed and deployed the Cuirassier-class Countermeasures Ship, each fitted with a Crystal Gravfield Trap. Unfortunately, due to the cost of the Gravfield Trap, and the current blockade of the Keera Major System by the Dark Empire, only a handful of these vessels had been completed and managed to reach the Alliance.
Aether Systems now finds itself holding onto the hope that the Alliance can retake the Deep Core as the Corporation maintains a tight hold on its shaking footing in the Keera Major System, unwilling to surrender the Orbital Shipyards or turn its production capabilities against the very Alliance that uplifted it to its current position of prestige.
