STRENGTHS
  • Control Tower - Located above the primary command bridge is a structure from which it is capable of piloting a Starfighter if its emergency override is activated. This ensures that Starfighters can be easily recovered in emergency situations.
  • Command Ship - The GADF Neutron is known to have been equipped with an enhanced sensor suite taken from Imperial-class Star Destroyers. This sensor package coupled with an innovative bridge design ensures that a Flag Officer is capable of easily commanding a large armada of vessels at once.
  • Fleet Carrier - The GADF Neutron was designed to fulfill a dual role within a larger battle formation and is capable of deploying three full fighter wings - each comprised of six squadrons - whilst keeping three additional Starfighter Squadrons in reserve. The Capital Ship is also capable of deploying multiple Support Craft squadrons which often consist of Troop Transports.
  • Pulse Mass Mines - These mines are known to emit an effect similar to those of a Gravity Well Projector often seen on Interdictor-class Capital Ships. Each GADF Neutron is outfitted with a number of launch tubes in order to deploy this specialized ordnance.
WEAKNESSES
  • Sublight Drive Systems - Located in a similar configuration to other Hapan vessels at the extreme aft of the Capital Ship with limited coverage. This means that the primary Drive Systems are easier to damage, and in turn, cripple the Battlecruiser.
  • Control Tower - Attempting to increase the range and the efficiency of recovering Starfighters was the reason that the design of the GADF Neutron placed the control tower as high on the Capital Ship as it is. This placement can result in damage or destruction of this vital component of the craft, hindering the capability of recovering launched Starfighters or those craft experiencing emergencies during landing.
  • Broadside - Due to the overall design of the Capital Ship focusing on an increased Hangar Capacity and providing clear lanes of ingress and egress, much of the armament that the GADF Neutron is outfitted with is focused towards the Port and Starboard firing arcs. This limits much of its firing capacity to these two vectors as its heavier armaments are focused in these areas.
  • Sluggish - The GADF Neutron is known to be slow and often requires assistance to ensure that it can retreat from an engagement or is properly screened from fast-moving vessels.
DESCRIPTION
A spiritual successor of the Old Republic Inexpugnable-class and the first in a new line of warships focused on supporting the vast array of Hapan vessels that are being produced. The GADF Neutron is a Battlecruiser designed to focus its capabilities on serving in a dual role to support a larger formation of Capital Ships. Established as a Command Ship and equipped accordingly with an enhanced sensor suite, the GADF Neutron provides the means for a Flag Officer to easily command a larger number of vessels. Its secondary role is that of a Fleet Carrier and is accomplished due to its increased hangar capacity and capability to deploy up to three full fighter wings while still being capable of supporting additional fighter squadrons and support squadrons. Further supporting its role as a Fleet Carrier is the addition of a Control Tower located just above the main command bridge, which also functions as the primary flight control and coordination for all Starfighter and Support Craft squadrons deployed by the GADF Neutron. However, the location of this Control Tower means that it is much more likely to be damaged, which would hinder the vessel's ability to command or recover deployed craft.

While the GADF Neutron falls under the Battlecruiser classification and carries an armament that reflects this overall classification, many of these weapons were installed to ensure that the primary ingress and egress from the hangar bays remained clear. This has resulted in its weapon systems being focused within the port and starboard firing arcs, with its heavier armaments, also focused in these areas. As the Capital Ship is also heavily inspired by Hapan designs, it shares a similar flaw seen in other vessels and warships with the same aesthetic, that is the location of its primary drive systems. The location of its Sublight Drive Systems and the minimal coverage of such means that they are easier to damage, which can result in the GADF Neutron being crippled. Additionally, the vessel's design being focused on an expansive hangar capacity, has resulted in a marked lack of speed and maneuverability, with the Capital Ship being well known for its slow sluggish movements requiring additional support when retreating from an engagement or being screened from fast-moving vessels.

The GADF Neutron is set to deploy alongside other Hapan and Hapan-inspired Capital Ships as the two factions grow closer via their diplomatic alliance in the face of a greater threat due to a war that is looming on the horizon. The Capital Ship takes on the role and mantle of a Command Ship, its focus on ensuring that the fleets it will be nestled within are more than capable of executing the commands of a Flag Officer while also providing a vast array of Starfighter and Bomber squadrons.
