STRENGTHS
  • Hangar Capacity - Unlike other Bulk Freighters the Aether CT-23 was envisioned to supply its own support craft to assist in the off-loading and on-loading of cargo. Its hangar bay, though not on par with a dedicated carrier, is still capable of carrying a modest number of support craft.
  • AR-0B Damage Reduction Component - Due to its status as a Bulk Freighter for use in the Civilian Market, the Aether CT-23 is focused on a heavier defensive capability. This includes the addition of an AR-0B component which assists in the removal of harmful debris that has built up on the hull of the vessel. Utilizing an ablative field to remove said debris, the AR-0B component has the potential of extending the operational longevity of the hull plating.
  • GalaxyGuard Mk VII - Further leaning into its designation as an unarmed Civilian Freight, each Aether CT-23 comes equipped with a number of specialized shield components. These units provide an additional boost to the Deflector Shield's endurance and are utilized to increase the Shield's effective operational range. This allows the vessel to sustain additional strikes to its shields and provides it with the needed time to either flee from the area or survive until armed vessels arrive to render assistance.

WEAKNESSES
  • Unarmmed - The Aether CT-23 is a Civilian Bulk Freighter and as such it is unequipped with any form of armament that would be normally utilized in an offensive capability. Though equipped with a set of Quad-Heavy Guns, these weapons are purely utilized in a defensive capability and lack the same firepower or strength of a conventional Turbolaser or Quad-Heavy Laser weaponry.
  • Hangar Capacity - Though it was designed with the intention of carrying support craft, the Aether CT-23 is otherwise incapable of supporting smaller craft in a military capacity. This is due to its designation as a Civilian vessel and lacking the needed support infrastructure that is otherwise often seen on Dedicated Military Carriers or similar craft.
  • Slow Moving - Designed to ferry cargo en-mass from one destination to another, the Aether CT-23 was not designed with speed of maneuverability in mind. Those the vessel is relatively large for its designation, this lack of speed and maneuverability was intended to disused pirates or brigands from potentially utilizing the Aether CT-23 in the event of its capture.

DESCRIPTION
Wealth is often accumulated due to the purchasing and selling of material goods with trading being the central focus in many such endeavors. To ensure the continued movement of these transactions during both times of peace and war, it is Bulk Freighters and their crews that keep the Galactic Economy functioning. The Aether CT-23 is a Bulk Freighter that was designed to further these endeavors through the utilization of its own support squadrons to assist in the rapid on-loading and off-loading of cargo at its designated ports. Designed and Manufactured for use by the Taris Trading Company, the Aether CT-23 is a Mass-Produced civilian vessel that was released on the open market and can be found utilized by a multitude of trading houses and ventures across the Galaxy. Though slow-moving out of design and necessity to prevent its potential use as a private vessel in the event of its capture, the Aether CT-23 makes up for its lack of speed via its heavier defensive capabilities. Increased armor components and a boost to its shield generators ensure that the vessel can withstand a prolonged siege until assistance can arrive on the scene.

Its hangar bay is equipped with the materials required to support and repair up to two squadrons of civilian support craft or can be utilized in the transportation of smaller vessels that have been purchased or need to be transported to a new local. However, it should be noted that the Aether CT-23 is incapable of supporting military craft or Starfighter Squadrons in a similar capacity as a Dedicated Military Craft due to its Civilian status. This can also be seen in its lack of offensive capabilities as the Aether CT-23 is not equipped with armaments of any kind with even its Quad-Heavy Guns being solely designated for defensive measures only. Where it differs in many cases is its increased carrying capacity compared to similar Bulk Freighters, allowing for higher quantities of cargo to be transported from various destinations to their endpoints.

The Aether CT-23 forms the spearhead of many trading convoys that have begun to move out of Taris at the behest of the Taris Trading Company, their sole purpose being the acquisition of material goods and wealth to further increase the prestige of Taris and fill the coffers of its funding corporation.
