ADVANCED FEATURES

STRENGTHS
  • Medical Station - The Salus-class Station was designed to provide the best medical care to the largest number of individuals as possible. To this end, the stations are equipped with thousands of Bacta Tanks, and are capable of treating tens of thousands of individuals; each station is also capable of hosting multiple Medical Frigates up to five hundred meters in length. The stations are even known to have a handful of Kolto Tanks available for those individuals with a rare Bacta allergy.
  • Research Laboratories - Multiple internal sectors play host to a myriad of Research Laboratories that can be utilized to study pathogens, chemical weapons, or any other manner of illness or ailment. These Laboratories also provide the means for the medical staff to synthesize and produce additional medicines, chemicals, vaccines, or treatments for a vast array of species.
  • Species Dependent Recovery Wards - Each Salus-class Medical Station is known to be equipped with specialized recovery rooms that can be individually programmed to provide for the needs of a species' unique physiological or biological needs. These special wards also include specialized Ammonia Chambers for those species that require Ammonia for respiratory function.
WEAKNESSES
  • Civilian Station - The Salus-class Station is classified as a Civilian Station and as such it lacks offensive weaponry or the capability to support and deploy squadrons of Starfighters or Capital Ships.
  • Sector 121 - Sector 130 - Located throughout the lower sections of the central spire are the primary systems that keep the station in a synchronized orbit above the planet. These systems, if damaged or disabled, would ultimately result in the station being knocked from orbit with the potential of seeing the station crash into the surface below.
  • Automated - Many of the primary and secondary systems of the station are heavily automated to alleviate the responsibilities and stress of the staff. Due to this, these systems are highly vulnerable to Ion-based weaponry, which can disable these systems with potentially catastrophic outcomes.
DESCRIPTION
As Conflict rages across the Galaxy and the Galactic Alliance is dealt the first blow by the Mandalorians, the need to treat wounded soldiers, convalesce civilians caught in the middle, and ensure that refugees are not harboring illnesses due to being introduced to unknown environments is at the forefront. Stepping forward to provide that assistance to the Galactic Alliance is Aether Systems, first with the introduction of Project Thyferra and a fleet of Medical Craft, and now, with the introduction of the Salus-class Medical Station. These large Medical Stations are capable of treating tens of thousands of individuals with automated systems to alleviate the responsibilities of the small staff that are deployed on these stations. However, due to many of these systems being automated, they are highly vulnerable to Ion-based weaponry; with possible catastrophic outcomes resulting from these systems being disabled or destroyed.

Each Salus-class Medical Station was designed to ensure that the station was capable of handling any kind of potential outbreak of an illness, a mass casualty event, or even requiring the research and synthesizing of a cure to a chemical weapon. This is achieved due to the station being equipped with a myriad of Research Laboratories, among other specialized suites and departments such as an onsite Blood Bank, and specialized Ammonia Chambers for those species requiring Ammonia for respiratory function; the stations are also equipped with their own morgues to perform autopsies and store cadavers until the remains can be returned to the next of kin. Due to its classification as a Civilian Station, the Salus-class lacks any notable offensive weaponry or the ability to support and deploy Starfighter Squadrons or Warships. However, its sizeable hangar capacity permits the station to house and support Medical Frigates no larger than five hundred meters in length.

With the need to treat thousands of wounded individuals and soldiers whilst also providing treatment to those in need, the Salus-class provides that very capability. Each station can house thousands of individuals, is staffed by thousands of medical officers and surgical droids, and is more than capable of providing the medical needs of an entire planet or large theater of conflict. The production and deployment of the Salus-class Medical Station represents a continued effort on the part of Aether Systems to provide for not only their employees but also for the citizens of the Galaxy as a whole.
