STRENGTHS
  • Rapid Response - The Fresia-class was designed to provide the Galactic Alliance with a rapid response vessel to be utilized in patrolling the various Star Systems that make up Alliance Territory as well as serve in a law enforcement capacity. To this end, the vessel focused on speed and maneuverability over armaments and defenses, producing a vessel that is capable of reaching astonishing sublight and light speeds as well as out-maneuver vessels of a similar size and classification.
  • Single Craft Capacity - The vessel is capable of maintaining and deploying a singular craft, though this is often limited to a boarding shuttle or barge.
WEAKNESSES
  • Minimal Armaments - Due to its primary focus being on patrol and not a main-line warship, the Fresia-class is known to have a limited armament; with said armament being focused on disabling vessels rather than outright destroying them.
  • No Hangar Capacity - Though capable of maintaining and deploying a singular craft, the vessel otherwise lacks the hangar capacity and capability to deploy a full squadron of Starfighters or Support craft and often must rely on additional Starfighter Escorts or be partnered with a pocket carrier for additional starfighter support.
DESCRIPTION
As the Mandalorians have grown bolder and struck out against the Galactic Alliance along their southern border, the need to secure neighboring Systems and Alliance Territory as a whole has become a priority. Enter the Fresia-class Patrol Ship; considered an updated variant of the older Marauder-class Corvette, the older design was overhauled and focused more on an increased speed and maneuverability to provide a vessel that was more than capable of running down vessels when needed just as easily as outmaneuvering a larger foe and withdrawing to signal the alarm. However, due to its focus on speed and maneuverability, the vessel is known to lack in other areas, specifically armaments. The Fresia-class has a smaller arsenal than the older Marauder-class, with its weapon systems focused primarily on disabling a vessel rather than outright destroying one.

Likewise, due to its focus on other areas, the Fresia-class is incapable of supporting either a Starfighter or Support Craft Squadron as it lacks the hangar capacity to do so; the only minimal counter to this is its capability to deploy a singular craft, though this often consists of a boarding shuttle or barge. The primary purpose of the Fresia-class is to provide the Galactic Alliance with a rapid response patrol ship, whilst also providing local enforcement agencies with a reliable Corvette that is more than capable of out-running and out-maneuvering vessels that would be utilized by Pirates, Raiders, or other ne're-do-wells.

Though lacking a heavier armament or thicker defenses, the Fresia-class is still a capable vessel. Its focus on speed and maneuvering allows it to excel in these areas, often outpacing similarly sized Corvettes. Likewise, its focus on disabling a vessel rather than destroying it proves a boon rather than a hindrance, as it is likely that packs of these vessels will be deployed to hunt down, disable, and board larger vessels or those Capital Ships proving particularly annoying to the Galactic Alliance.
