STRENGTHS
  • Squadron Support - Despite its size and designation, the Bel Iblis-class is known to be capable of supporting and deploying up to two Squadrons of Starfighters or Bombers to assist during routine patrols in the Galactic Alliance or during extended Escort missions.
  • Agile - The overall design of the vessel heavily focused on increasing speed and maneuverability resulting in a highly agile Corvette capable of reaching staggering acceleration at both Sublight and Light speeds.
WEAKNESSES
  • Minimal Armaments - Many of the standard armaments that would have otherwise been present were removed or reduced in favor of increasing the hangar capacity of the vessel. This has resulted in a lessened armament that the Corvette can bring to bear against a target.
  • Ventral Coverage - The bulk of the armament that is present on the Bel Iblis-class is located primarily along the dorsal section of the vessel resulting in a relatively exposed and easily accessible underside that maintains limited weapon coverage.
DESCRIPTION
Following the recent Invasion of Alliance Territory by Mandalorian Forces, the need to secure the interior of Alliance Space as well as patrol its borders effectively has resulted in an increased call for vessels capable of handling these tasks. The answer came in the form of sister designs each focused on different capabilities whilst also complimenting the other's strengths and weaknesses in turn. The first of these twin designs was the Bel Iblis-class which focused on speed and maneuverability, though sacrificed heavier armaments and defenses in order to accomplish this.

Additionally, further armaments were removed to provide the vessel with an increased hangar capacity that would allow the craft to carry up to two starfighter or bomber squadrons to provide assistance on prolonged escort missions or during routine patrols of Alliance territories. An unintentional design flaw of the vessel can be seen in the location of its remaining armaments and the limited coverage that they provide to the vessel. This can be seen predominately in the ventral section of the vessel which is much more easily approached due to this limited coverage. Though capable in the role in which it is intended, it is highly suggested that these vessels not be thrown at heavier warships or against overwhelming starfighter squadrons due to its limitations of both armaments and defenses.

Overall the Bel Iblis-class can be considered only half of a warship due to its intent to be utilized in tandem with its sister vessels. Due to this focus on vessels that complement each other's strengths and weaknesses, it is very common to find these vessels deployed alongside Kota-class Corvettes during routine patrols and escort missions.
