STRENGTHS
  • Corporate Headquarters - Serving as the home of Aether Systems with room for additional offices, headquarters, or small branch facilities; these connections are utilized to ensure that the Olympus-class always has the best and newest technologies available. Likewise, due to housing these many commercial entities, the Station is kept well stocked with any resources or materials that may be required.
  • Heavy Defenses - There is no keeping this station a secret, at least not for too long, and in the event that it becomes a target, it was provided with all it needs. The station is known to boast an impressive array of defensive weaponry to ensure that in the event of an attack, it would remain standing whilst the enemy was left in tatters so that their vessels could be utilized for scrap to be recycled and reused in new manufacturing projects.
  • Various Amenities - The Olympus-class is not only a Manufacturing Station, it plays host to the headquarters of Aether Systems and serves just as much of a hotbed of Espionage and Corporate Intrigue. Located away from the manufacturing districts and sectors are numerous Residential Sectors, Entertainment venues, Casinos, Hotels, and all manner of Eateries to keep both workers and visitors in high spirits.
  • Manufacturing Drydocks - Dominating much of the station and providing its purpose are the vast Drydocks that are utilized to produce, in increasing numbers, the vast armadas of Capital Ships and War Ships that Aether Systems is known to produce. These Drydocks and Manufacturing Hangars are capable of laying down and producing multiple vessels in blurring speed, often resulting in smaller vessels being completed in a Galactic Standard Day whilst larger projects are known to take no more than Three Galactic Standard Months.
  • Super Star Destroyer Drydocks - The greatest and truest strength of the Olympus-class and the primary purpose of its construction following Aether Systems becoming closer with the Galactic Alliance. The Outer Sectors of the station - Omega, Sigma, and Omnicron - house the largest of the Drydocks that exist on the station. It is these Drydocks that can be utilized to produce Super Star Destroyers or in lieu of such a project may be utilized in the construction of a squadron of Dreadnoughts.
WEAKNESSES
  • Civilian Station - Though more than capable of producing Starfighters, Bombers, and Capital Ships of all sizes, the Olympus-class is nonetheless, a Civilian Station. This means that it lacks the offensive and often heavier weaponry that is installed on the Capital Ships it produces or those Defense Platforms that are deployed to provide additional protection.
  • Limited Maneuverability - The Olympus-class was not designed to be mobile and as such it lacks the means to accelerate to any speed. Additionally, what maneuvers it is capable of executing are restricted to those maneuvers that ensure the station does not plummet to the surface of the Planet below.
  • Habitation Sectors - Dominating the upper sectors of the central Super Structure are a handful of residential Habitation Domes that house the masses that keep the station operational and are employed to design, produce, and manufacture the vast armadas of Starships. These residential sectors make for a tantalizing target, and though defenses are much more dense in these regions, they are still not invincible; damage to these areas, specifically a break in the outer shell, has the potential for a catastrophic loss of life.
  • Connecting Arms - Extending from the central Super Structure and connecting the Outer Sectors to the main body are a series of connecting tubes that are further supported by additional support struts. These arms are the primary means to traverse from the central structure to the Outer Sectors and damage or destruction of these arms could prevent that traversal or tear those sectors free from the main body.
  • Manufacturing Drydocks - When a Capital Ship is completed and the vessel is set to be launched from its Drydocks, the shielding that normally keeps these areas protected must be momentarily dropped to ensure that the vessel is released. During the duration of these launches, the window is opened to allow for a smaller vessel to more easily and readily sneak into the station. In other instances, it provides the perfect moment for an attack that would be specifically intended to damage or destroy the internal structures of these critical Drydocks.
  • Primary Target - Its size by virtue and possessing the means to produce Dreadnoughts and Super Star Destroyers places it as a primary target should its location ever be discovered by an enemy force. With Aether Systems showing its staunch support of the Galactic Alliance, the Olympus-class, as its primary Manufacturing Station, is further at risk for attack; either from those that are engaged in conflict with the Alliance, or by competing Corporations that would seek to cripple the Company and hinder its primary role of manufacturing Starships.
DESCRIPTION
The lynchpin of the Keera Major Orbital Array is intended to stand on par with or even surpass the Orbital Array in orbit above the Planet of Kuat. Aether Systems poured its heart and soul into the construction of the Olympus-class and for good reason, the Company has continued to deepen the bonds between it and the Galactic Alliance even as conflict once more grips the Galaxy in its fist. Hosting the Headquarters of Aether Systems after having recently moved to Kreea Major from Taris; additional internal sectors remain available to expand into or otherwise house additional Corporate Headquarters, Branch Offices, or Minor Locations. The Station itself remains a Civilian Station, and though it is heavily defended, it lacks the heavier armaments and offensive weaponry such as those that are installed on the various Capital Ships and War Ships that are produced in its Drydocks.

As its primary focus is on the manufacturing of Starships, much of the station is dominated by these Drydocks and Hangars that can easily lay down the frame of a Starship and in some cases complete its construction in a Galactic Standard Day - though much larger vessels often take additional time though are still completely in rapid succession. The upper Sectors of the primary central structure include a number of amenities and residential sectors in order to accommodate the hundreds of thousands of workers, administrators, engineers, and visitors present on the Station; a happy worker is an efficient worker. However, as many of these amenities are housed inside Habitation Domes present in the upper sectors of the main structure, these areas make for a tantalizing target even with the heavier defenses present in these areas. Unfortunately, these sectors are not invincible, with damage to the area, specifically a break in the outer shell, having the potential for a catastrophic loss of life.

Where the Olympus-class excels and shows its true strength is in its manufacturing capability as seen in the vast array of Manufacturing Hangars and Star Destroyer Drydocks that dominate the vast structure. In more recent days, it has been noted, that during the process in which a Starship is launched after completion, the shields in that particular dock or hangar need to be lowered to allow the vessel to pass through; this has resulted in accidentally providing the means in which a smaller vessel can easily sneak in during the time it takes to launch a larger vessel. Likewise, this limited window can provide the opportunity for a small Starfighter to infiltrate a specific section and wreak havoc on the internal structure of the station in these areas.

With Aether Systems maintaining its staunch support of the Galactic Alliance, the need to ensure that the needs of the Alliance were being met also resulted in the greatest attribute of the Olympus-class Station. Located at the extreme Outer Sectors of the station are the Omega, Sigma, and Omnicron Drydocks, the crowning achievement of the station, these specialty Drydocks are capable of laying down the structure of the most massive ships imaginable. These specific Drydocks are utilized in the construction of Dreadnoughts, or as is the more likely case, the production of a Super Star Destroyer. It is for this reason that the Olympus-class is under constant protection and Aether Systems ensures that its location remains well guarded; with it likely being a primary target for attack - to disable or destroy - should its location ever become known.

The Olympus-class Station solidifies the future of Aether Systems and provides the means to ensure that it can continue producing Capital Ships and Starships of all sizes for the Galactic Alliance as well as the Commercial Market. Even with it being an unarmed civilian station with a proverbial target painted on its back, its capabilities in the production of Starships more than make the risk of constructing and operating such a behemoth worthwhile.
