STRENGTHS
  • Fast Attack Corvette - The GADF War Drake is a vessel that was designed for speed and maneuverability, allowing it to favor rapid hit-and-run tactics over the standard slugging matches of larger ships. Its speed and maneuverability also allow the GADF War Drake to excel in scouting and probing missions where it can enter an area and exit the region just as quickly.
  • Reconfigurable - Following similar design standardizations as the CR90 Corvette, the GADR War Drake can be easily reconfigured internally in regard to a wide variety of roles that the vessel may be required to undertake. This reconfiguring is often to allow further personnel to be transported or to serve as diplomatic couriers.
WEAKNESSES
  • No Hangar Capacity - Being a standard Corvette, the GADF War Drake is incapable of carrying smaller craft of any kind as it lacks hangar capacity or any form of external docking system to carry smaller craft.
  • Corvette - Though a fast and nimble craft, it should not be forgotten that the GADF is still just a corvette and is ill-suited in a toe-to-toe fight when it comes to larger capital ships.
DESCRIPTION
The Hapes Consortium is known for its warships, many that have been seen and many still yet to be seen by the Outside Galaxy, the Beta Cruiser falls into the former category. Serving alongside other Hapan Capital Ships during the Battle of Fondor, many of those vessels were destroyed by the firing of the Centerpoint Station, though their design lives on in a new line of successors. Enter the GADF War Drake, a smaller companion built to complement the might of the GADF Battle Dragon and GADF Nova Cruiser. The design of the GADF War Drake was focused on increasing its speed and maneuverability to provide a nimble fast attack craft that could also double as a scouting and reconnaissance vessel to assist larger formations via preventing ambushes or reporting on enemy movements and formations.

Due to the size of the vessel, the GADF War Drake is otherwise incapable of supporting smaller craft, this can also be seen in its lack of a single craft hangar or external docking clamps or boarding tubes that other corvettes are known to carry. This, coupled with an armament that is geared more towards capital ships, often requires the GADF War Drake to be accompanied by a starfighter escort to provide assistance against enemy starfighters. Likewise, due to its designation as a Corvette, though equipped with anti-ship armaments, it is still ill-advised to pit the GADF War Drake in a toe-to-toe confrontation with a larger warship unless deployed in greater numbers. Internally the GADF War Drake is influenced by design aspects of the well-known CR90 Corvette, which can be seen in its ability to be easily reconfigured internally as required of its mission role - with the most common reconfiguration being that of a transport or diplomatic courier.

As conflict is slowly on the rise once more in the Galaxy, the GADF War Drake is a fine addition to the overall roster of Starships already fielded by the Galactic Alliance Defense Force. Centered around providing a fast-attack craft to further assist its larger compatriots, its use as a reconnaissance craft will prove to be invaluable to the Galactic Alliance. The GADF War Drake carries with it a new heritage as more and more Hapan vessels are refitted and produced for their new allies in the Galactic Alliance.

Hi there, I will be the judge for this submission.

Currently this ship isn't balanced properly. As the way the templates work, the hanger rating on smaller ships require you to have a base line of the highest hanger rating that has 0 is the hanger rating base and you cannot go below that, thus for example a ship that has a size category between 50m and 100m always has a hanger rating of very high, as it is the highest rating in which the same number always exists as the rating below it. So while average and high also have a 0 space rating for the hanger you have to use the very high rating instead of the average rating because they are all in this case zero. Same goes for the ships between 100m and 200m which your ship falls into, instead the 'base' rating is high because other ratings below it are the exact same number being 0 again.

TLDR; basically if two ratings in hanger have the same number, the template and factory forces you to use the higher rating so that you can't get ratings for nothing. eg a 50 meter ship with a rating of base and very high, have the same number thus you have to take very high otherwise your getting rating points for basically free as you lose nothing between the two ratings and gain 5 points.
