STRENGTHS

Carrier Cruiser - The Majestic-class is capable of carrying a full wing of Starfighters as well as a single squadron of Support Craft. This allows it to act as a light carrier in smaller formations where deploying a dedicated carrier could be considered an overreaction.

Increased Armaments - These vessels were designed with a focus on providing increased firepower in support of a formation. This would potentially allow the vessel to stand against larger vessels with some ease.

WEAKNESSES

Command Bridge - Located along the dorsal just fore of the main engines is the command bridge of the vessel. Its placement is precarious and presents a tantalizing target; sufficient damage or destruction could lead to the crippling of the vessel or render it inoperable.

Sluggish - The Majestic-class was not designed for speed and maneuverability, rather favoring armaments and hangar capacity. This can be seen in its relatively low sublight speeds as well as the time and distance required for the vessel to properly execute a maneuver.

Primary Drive Systems - Located at the extreme aft of the vessel, the large bank of engines is easily targeted or approached by smaller craft due to limited weapon coverage in the area. Sufficient damage to these systems could potentially render the vessel dead in the water and incapable of maneuvering or attempting to flee into hyperspace.

DESCRIPTION

The Majestic-class Heavy Cruiser is the most recent addition to a long list of modernized Starships that have begun to fill the ranks of the Galactic Alliance Navy and bolster its already impressive retinue of warships. Designed with firepower in mind, the vessel is known to boast an impressive array of heavier armaments; with the intention of standing toe-to-toe against Cruisers and Light Destroyers in lieu of deploying larger vessels. These vessels were also designed with an increased hangar capacity, allowing it to carry and deploy a full wing of Starfighters as well as a single squadron of support craft. This allows the vessel to also serve in the role of a light carrier when a dedicated carrier would be considered overreacting to a situation. However, the increase in the number of weapon systems and the expansion of its hangar capacity has resulted in added weight and a decrease in its overall speed and maneuverability. This can be seen in its slower sublight speeds as well as the simple fact that it often requires time and distance for the vessel to properly execute a maneuver. Likewise, the design of the vessel has placed the command bridge in a precarious location along the dorsal section of the vessel; damage or destruction of this has the potential to cripple or render the vessel inoperable. Though possessing noticable drawbacks, its capabilities and what it can provide in a larger formation more than make up for this, especially when paired with other vessels that compliment its strengths. Like many of the more recent models of Starships produced for the Galactic Alliance, the Majestic-class Heavy Cruiser design was created to embrace efficiency with the basic hull design and systems of the vessel also being utilized to produce the Defender-class Assault Carrier.
