STRENGTHS
  • Heavy Armaments - War is looming on the horizon and the GADF Megos was designed for just that with a vast array of armaments with only the vessel's defensive capabilities being on par in terms of rating.
  • Carrier Destroyer - The GADF Megos is capable of deploying two full fighter wings - each comprised of three squadrons - whilst also maintaining an additional two fighter squadrons in reserve. The hangar capacity also allows for the vessel to carry up to two additional squadrons of support craft such as shuttles or troop transports.
  • Pulse Mass Mines - With the ability to emit an effect similar to that of a Gravity Well Projector, these specialized space mines have become an indispensable ordinance outfitted to many of the newer GADF variants. Thus, each GADF Megos is outfitted with multiple generator tubes to deploy these weapons.
WEAKNESSES
  • Lumbering Brute - The GADF Megos is known to be a slow and lumbering craft when deployed, even taking an extended period of time just to alter the vessel trajectory due to its size and difficulty in maneuvering. It is clear that the GADF Megos is unlikely to be awarded any kind of prize for breakneck speeds or stunning spatial maneuvers.
  • Intensify Forward Fire - Focused on bringing to bear as many weapons unto a singular point as possible, the majority of the weapon systems that the GADF Megos is outfitted with are focused predominately in the Forward Firing-Arc. This configuration has resulted in fewer weapons pointing towards the aft leaving a blindspot in that arc.
  • Sublight Drive Systems - Designed following Hapan Aesthetics, the GADF Megos has a glaring flaw with its primary drive systems. Its large size coupled with limited weapon coverage means that Drive Systems can be easily damaged, crippling the Star Destroyer.
DESCRIPTION
The GADF Megos-class Star Destroyer is a representation of two cultures blending together and serves as a beacon of unity to strengthen a new alliance. With an aesthetic and design inspired by the Hapan People's deep love of beauty and the might of the arms and advanced technologies of the Galactic Alliance, the GADF Megos seeks to further bridge the two cultures together to stand against the coming onslaught. With the alliance between the Hapes Consortium and the Galactic Alliance still fresh, the production run of the GADF Megos is limited, with it being unlikely that large flotillas of these vessels will be seen any time soon. This limited production run has also permitted the engineers more time to work out the intricacies of combining Hapan design with Alliance engineering and technology which has resulted in a Capital Ship similar in some aspects to the more well-known Hapan Battle Dragon. This can be seen in the large Sublight Drive System located at the aft of the GADF Megos, which is just as susceptible to damage; which in turn can cripple the Star Destroyer.

Its primary role is that of a warship, and this role is clear given the heavy armaments and defensive capabilities built into the GADF Megos which also incorporates tried-and-true Hapan weapon systems in the form of the Pulse Mass Generator Tubes and the accompanying Pulse Mass Mines. However, the heavy reliance and focus on creating a warship has come at the cost of maneuverability and speed, with the GADF Megos being described as a lumbering brute. This has resulted in slower speeds even for a ship of its size and a less than nimble control as it can take an extended period of time just to turn the vessel compared to other Star Destroyers of its size. Following the Hapan design and love of beauty has also seen the majority of its weapon systems being installed to cover the forward firing arc, with few weapons facing the aft firing arc; the result being a nearly uncontested approach vector that causes the GADF Megos to rely upon escort vessels to cover the aft flank.

As a means to attempt to overcome some of its other weaknesses, the GADF Megos does boast an extensive hangar capacity and is capable of deploying multiple squadrons into an engagement. It is also capable of carrying up to two squadrons of support craft to further assist in executing its mission objectives which may include securing a beachhead on a planet or taking control of a Space Station. The GADF Megos-class Star Destroyer is the first of its kind that focuses on bringing the newest of allies closer together and serves as the focal point to inspire the next generation of Hapan and Galactic Alliance warships.
