STRENGTHS
  • Limited Carrier - The Madine-class was designed with a modest hangar capacity and is capable of carrying a singular squadron of Starfighters or Bombers as well as being able to support a singular squadron of Support Craft or Shuttles.
  • Troop Transport - Each vessel was designed to allow for a small contingent of troops to be carried and rapidly deployed, allowing the vessel to assist in rapidly deploying forces to secure a recently claimed position or to reinforce a beleaguered allied position.
  • Pack Tactics - Though lacking any discernable specialization and considered to be average across the board, the Madine-class is known to excel at pack tactics, making these vessels dangerous in small groups.
WEAKNESSES
  • Connector Fuselage - Maintaining the connection between the forward command bridge and the aft engineering system, this section is also known to house the hangar of the vessel. Damage to this area has the potential of preventing the crew from easily traversing the length of the ship, crippling its limited starfighter and support squadron capacity, and in a catastrophic event, potentially rending the vessel into two halves.
  • Primary Drive System - The primary engine systems of the Madine-class are easily accessible and have limited coverage from the weapon systems. This renders the systems easily accessible and opens them to the potential of being damaged or destroyed, which can result in the crippling of the vessel.
  • Average - There is nothing overtly special that would otherwise separate the Madine-class or cause it to rise above other similarly sized Capital Ships; nor does it specialize in any singular aspect that would differentiate it from another Frigate.
DESCRIPTION
The Madine-class Patrol Frigate is a Capital Ship that was designed with the intention of providing the Galactic Alliance with a vessel that was capable of being both easily and rapidly produced and put into service to bolster the Alliance Navy. The Capital Ship is known for being simply average, with nothing overtly special that would differentiate or raise the vessel above similarly sized Capital Ships due to the maintaining of the ideal that it be an easily and rapidly produced vessel. These vessels are known to be capable of acting in the role of a pocket carrier, though this capacity is limited due to its otherwise restricted hangar space as it is only capable of supporting a singular squadron of starfighters as well as a singular squadron consisting of support craft.

Where the Madine-class shines is in its role as a Troop Transport, with its relatively small size allowing the vessel to easily enter the atmosphere of most planets to rapidly deploy its contingent of troops before just as rapidly egressing from a position. The overall design of the vessel shares some similarities with that of the Nebulon-B Frigate which can be seen in the design scheme in which a connecting fuselage joins the rear engineering section with the forward command section. This connecting section also houses the limited hangar bay of the vessel, and damage to this region has the potential of limiting the crew's means to traverse the length of the vessel as well as cripple its already limited carrier role.

As the need for vessels and the demand for readily available Capital Ships continues to rise among the Galactic Alliance, the Madine-class easily fulfills that demand. Readily available, and easy to mass produce, groupings of these vessels have already been seen making their way through Alliance space towards the borders to assist in shoring up the Alliance Navy whilst dropping small contingents of troops to reinforce border worlds.
