The Exile
From Reckless Padawan to Master of the Blade
Once the impulsive initiate vaulting from Temple ledges and brushing off injuries with humor, Braze has grown into a Jedi Knight and claimed the mantle of Battlemaster, by the strength of his own will and mastery. The boy who obsessed over crystals and forms has become a blade unto himself, teaching beyond the reach of the corrupted Core.
The Burden of Exile
Braze is no longer bound to the hierarchy of the New Jedi Order. On Veridia, he stands apart, a Knight without a Council, and as a Battlemaster without an Order. This exile grants him freedom, yet it weighs heavily; his philosophy and teachings must survive outside the institution he once longed to serve. He embodies the blade in isolation, striving to balance the discipline he forged with the wild heart that has always driven him.
The Trial of Will
His struggle has shifted from learning restraint to living it. He must prevent not only himself, but also his student, from falling into the easy temptations of violence and corruption. Training Leos, tests Braze's ability to guide without dominating. His true mastery lies in forging another soul to walk the edge without falling. Leos is Braze's first true disciple in exile. Braze's ability to mentor Leos will decide whether his philosophy endures or collapses.
Themes of the Arc
- Responsibility of Knowledge — The Study of the Blade outlives the Order's collapse. As its author, Braze bears the responsibility for how others will use it.
- The Edge of Restraint — In exile, there are fewer rules to bind him; the risk of excess lies closer than ever.
- Becoming the Symbol — He is no longer the blade of the Order. He is the blade of himself: a lone exemplar, a teacher, and a challenge to what the Jedi have become.
PersonalityOVERVIEW
Braze has come a long way. Once brash and arrogant, he's grown into someone more mindful, compassionate, and emotionally aware. While his pride and impatience still surface now and then, they're tempered by a sincere desire to support others and become a better Jedi. His focus has shifted from control and recognition to inner balance and humility.
Braze is, well, brazen. He's outspoken, bold, and always says exactly what's on his mind. He doesn't sugarcoat things, and he sure as hell doesn't back down when challenged. He's stubborn to the bone, proud by default, and has that sharp edge that makes people either admire him or avoid him. He likes a good fight, and he thrives under pressure.
APPEARANCE
Notable markings:
TROPES- Personality & Role
-
The Snark Knight [Link]
Deadly serious when it counts, but everything else gets filtered through dry wit and sarcasm. He uses humor as armor.
Wounded Idealist [Link]
He wants to believe in the Jedi Code, peace, justice… but reality has made that hard. Still, he clings to those ideals with scarred hands.
Lancer / Number Two [Link]
If paired with a more idealistic or public-facing Jedi, Braze is the shadowy, pragmatic partner—often critical, but always loyal.
Flirty Beta [Link]
Bold and mouthy, sometimes uses flirting to keep people at arm's length—or just to amuse himself. Charming, but guarded.
The Cynical Mentor (in training) [Link]
He's still young, but already has that "I've seen too much" vibe. Could easily become a jaded teacher someday. - Combat Style & Vibe
-
The Shadow Operative [Link]
Works behind the scenes. Quiet, lethal, and often misunderstood even by his allies. His missions aren't glamorous—but they're vital.
Combat Pragmatist [Link]
He's not flashy; he's effective. Fights to win, and win fast.
Battlefield Philosopher [Link]
He fights, but he thinks deeply about it. War is never just violence for him—it's survival, justice, and sometimes guilt. - Emotional Depth
-
The Trauma Survivor [Link]
Carries the weight of war, injury, and loss, but instead of breaking, he reshaped himself into something sharper.
Reluctant Confidant [Link]
Others open up to him, even when he doesn't want them to. He gives honest, blunt advice—often more than people expect.
Grumpy Caregiver [Link]
Acts irritated when he helps, but he'll still show up when it matters. He protects even when he pretends he doesn't care.
Survivor Guilt [Link]
He carries the weight of others' deaths like a second cloak—silent, heavy, and always present.
The Atoner [Link]
He's made mistakes, lost people, and carries guilt. He doesn't want forgiveness—he wants to earn it.
Break the Cutie [Link]
Once, he was probably softer. Kinder. But war, betrayal, and loss carved the man he is now. - Aesthetic & Archetype
-
Knight of Shadows [Link]
A darker aesthetic Jedi who blends the mystical and the covert. Secretive but principled.
The Beautiful Weapon
Graceful, stylish, and dangerous. His presence is commanding—even when he's silent, he draws the eye.

Beautiful, but battered. He looks like he should be a noble hero—but the closer you get, the more damage you see.
Cultured Badass [Link]
Composed, eloquent, and stylish. Carries himself like a scholar—fights like a blade-dancer.
Elegant Character, Elegant Weapon [Link]
Refined in presence, precise in combat. Everything about him—from movements to weapons—is sharp and deliberate.
Troubled, but Cute [Link]
He's handsome in that sad, slightly dangerous way—scarred by life, but still soft around the eyes if you look close enough.
Actually Not a Vampire [Link]
He may look like an immortal tragedy figure, but he's painfully real, painfully human, and too exhausted to pretend otherwise. - Duality: Shadow & Sentinel
-
The Mask and the Mirror
The Masked Guardian
As a Temple Guard, he is faceless, silent, and stoic. His identity disappears into ritual and duty—he becomes the Code.
The Unmasked Shadow
As a Jedi Shadow, he's raw and real. Emotionally present, personally accountable, and more vulnerable than he lets on.
Order vs Identity
Knight of Two Faces
He lives two lives. One demands self-erasure for Order. The other asks him to think, feel, and choose. Both are true.
The Disciplined Rebel [Link]
Structured, but not blind. He believes in rules—until they harm someone. Then he'll break them, and justify it without flinching.
Temple Guard Side
The Dutiful Sentinel
He watches, he waits, he acts. Often overlooked—until he strikes. The embodiment of calm before the storm.
The Living Oath
He failed once. He won't again. His role as a Guard is more than duty—it's penance, and he takes it seriously.
Shadow Side
The Black Ops Paladin [Link]
A holy warrior doing dirty work. He's the guy who prays after the kill, not before.
Bleeding Heart Blade
He seems cold, but that's a lie. He feels everything. It's why he fights hard and ends fights fast—so he doesn't have to feel longer than necessary.
Internal Conflict
The Dual-Wielding Identity Crisis
Not just two sabers—two selves. He doesn't always know if he's more the mask or the shadow. Both give him purpose. Both cost him something.
Code vs Compassion
The Code is law. But what happens when it clashes with mercy, with instinct, with the moment? Braze is the one who decides.
Saint with a Stiletto
Appears calm, detached, and maybe even cold. But if you're in trouble, he's the one bleeding for you—without ever asking for thanks.
Dramatic Unmask [Link]
His identity as a Temple Guard isn't just hidden—it's sacred. When he removes the mask, it means something.
Two-Faced [Link]
He leads a life of contrasts. Guard and Shadow. Blade and heart. Light and dark—and he lives on the edge of both. - Romance & Emotional Spice
-
The Warrior Monk Who Touches No One… But Would Die For You
His heart is armored, his hands are still—but his loyalty runs terrifyingly deep.

Backstory
Braze was born into a privileged and wealthy family to Lady Kyoteru Seraphine and Kaito Starfall . His family had never lacked for anything. Spoiled from a young age he wanted for nothing. When his Force sensitivity manifested, it was clearly amplified by his emotional intensity.
He was brought into the Jedi Order at the young age of seven. While he wasn't naturally studious or meditative, his raw power was undeniable. By ten, he'd learned to keep his emotions more in check, though he still struggled with discipline and empathy. He had trouble connecting with others on a more genuine level.
Braze's early years in the creche were rocky. He kept others at a distance, often acting as a lone wolf. He was known for bullying weaker peers and challenging the stronger older students. He earned a reputation as both a problem and a prodigy. His fierce will, and deep need to prove himself drove him, but few saw the pain behind the bravado he used to mask his insecurities.
"Braze was conceived in a manner that left him with an abnormally strong openness to the Force," Jasper stated. "Even in my training of him I found his capabilities to be far greater than average. This affinity, for worse, made him a target of a darkside entity, which sought to groom him into a host. It assumed control of his mother and performed a series of psychological conditioning sessions, leaving him susceptible to key words. When he was ordered by the Kage named Okuma to kill Ko Vuto, these phrases were utilized. While Braze claims he acted willingly to bring down the shields, if only temporarily, the direct consequence if he were to ignore the orders given to him would be more of what Knight Vuto witnessed first hand. He speaks the truth when he states he did everything in his power to ensure nobody died. It was either that or be the blade which cut down his allies."
Jasper then pulled up a hologram of Okuma.
"After touching base with Master Tirin Raene , Okuma has been identified to be a Silver Jedi defect," He explained. "Whatever the case for his betrayal was, he turned his talents to mercenary work. It seems he's also been severed from the force. The entity that assumed the role of Braze's mother Lady Kyoteru Seraphine hired Okuma to retrieve Braze and bring him past the Blackwall so that it may complete it's goal of assuming my student as it's new host. He was delayed in his efforts, so he turned to personal grudges. Okuma attacked the Veridian Jedi Temple and reclaimed his lost lightsaber. That is where Ko Vuto nearly apprehended him, only to have Braze ordered against his will to take his life. Braze also made attempts to relay his captivity to others. His call to Knight Loomi would be the very act that set me on his trail, where he made an effort to offer direction despite the risk to his safety. On Ossus, the tracking device we recovered was only there because it had been left for us to follow. In short, had it not been for his own efforts, we may have never even safely apprehended him."
A sigh escaped his chest. That was it. Everything he knew. It was the evidence clear and concise, laid out to make it apparent that Braze was as much the victum here as anyone else.
"The Jedi Temple on Veridia is looking into a means of correcting this brainwashing to ensure Braze does not be used in such a manner again," the Master added. "My student did not ask for this. He did not choose this. I have watched our best Jedi fall to darkness, kill senators in cold blood, defect to raise the banner of our enemies all of their free will, yet they have been offered open arms when returning to the light. Risen to lead and atone for their transgressions. I can only ask that you consider the evidence as well as Knight Braze's cooperation. I have nothing more to say." -
