Braze had chosen Aetherialynn as the destination for his and Loomi's little adventure. This place held special memories for him as the location where he first met Aliris Tremiru Aliris Tremiru in the puzzle chamber. The warm, jungle-like atmosphere of Aetherialynn made it an ideal habitat for the quick, blue-tailed lizards they were on a mission to catch. The vibrant and lively environment of the planetoid was a perfect backdrop for their quest.

He had shared with Loomi an intriguing idea: if they were skillful enough to catch these incredibly fast lizards, they could make a wish. This playful notion added an element of magic and excitement to their endeavor. Braze was also keen on collecting a few lizards to create a terrarium.

As they trekked through the lush, verdant jungle, the sounds of life surrounded them. The air was filled with the calls of exotic birds and the rustling of leaves, the dense foliage above filtered the sunlight, casting a dappled pattern on the forest floor, adding to the enchantment of their surroundings.

Eventually, their journey brought them to a small pond where the river widened into a serene bend. The water was clear, reflecting the vibrant greens of the jungle and the bright blue of the sky. Around the pond, the buzz of insects and the occasional splash of water-dwelling creatures added to the sense of a thriving ecosystem.

"This looks like a good spot what do you think?"
Braze asked looking to Loomi.

"This looks like a good spot what do you think?"

"Golly, I don't really know," Loomi admitted with an awkward laugh. "I've never done this before."

She didn't know the first thing about lizards. They were small, except for when they weren't, friendly, except for when they weren't, and scurried across the ground, except for when they didn't. Her attempt at research had only made her feel less prepared for whatever was going to happen today.

"If you think it's a good spot, then I trust you," she decided, giving her friend a warm smile.

Braze knew what he was doing probably. Yeah.

This little spot was practically teeming with life. Delicate, winged lizards, their scales shimmering in hues of emerald and sapphire, leaped gracefully across the gaps between trees. They fluttered and glided over longer distances, their tiny wings catching the dappled sunlight, casting beams of light as if from stained glass windows. Some scampered up the bark of ancient trees, agile and swift, while others leapt into the air with astonishing precision to snatch little bugs. Despite the fierce competition for food, most of the lizards paid no mind to Braze and Loomi, as the larger animals in this part of the jungle were generally peaceful.

"Be careful," Braze cautioned as he crouched down, his eyes following a lizard climbing up a sapling. "If you catch their tails, they might pop off." He watched the lizard intently. "You've got to be quick. Aim to catch them just behind the head so they can't bite you. On a small tree like this, we have more control." He demonstrated, moving swiftly towards the sapling. But as he reached out, the lizard leaped, its body undulating in a unique fluffer-glide motion, and it landed gracefully on a distant cluster of leaves.

"T-tails fall off?" Loomi stammered, growing concerned.

How awful. That must really hurt the lizard, or at least she assumed that it would. Braze demonstrated how they were ment to catch the lizards, but it seemed to be inefective. Loomi could only tilt her head as she observed what her friend was attempting to do, trying to rationalize if this was really the best course of action. The lizards sort of had wings like she did, so maybe they wouldn't run from her. Rather than immediately pouncing to catch a lizard, the girl took a different approach, drawing a bag from her pack which held pieced of dried fruit that was meant to be her snack for later.

Dates.

If she gave the lizard a snack, maybe it would want to be her friend. They seemed rather docile, and not really scared of them at all aside from not wanting to be pounced on. It seemed a good idea enough. Loomi drew one of the dried pieces of fruit from the bag, slowly making her way over to present it to one of the lizards in hopes that it would let her catch it.

Easy.

As Loomi extended her hand with a piece of fruit towards the blue lizard, the small creature regarded her with curiosity, its head tilting to one side. It cautiously approached, gave the fruit a tentative nibble, but quickly spat it out and darted off into the underbrush, clearly unimpressed with the offering.

Braze, observing the interaction, couldn't help but let out a light, amused laugh at the lizard's swift departure. "Loomi, they prefer tiny bugs over fruit," he explained with a gentle smile. "Catching them isn't going to be easy, especially the first time around."

He watched as Loomi processed this new information, then added, "And just so you know, their tails can pop off and wiggle around. It's a neat little trick they use to distract predators and make their escape. Don't worry, though; their tails grow back."

Braze noticed Loomi's desire to befriend the elusive creatures and felt a sense of empathy. "It's tough to win 'friendship' from lizards, but I can show you how with the ones we catch. It's a process, though – might take a month or two," he offered, his tone encouraging.

He knew that patience and understanding were key in forming a bond with such creatures. "We'll need to be patient and gentle with them. It's all about building trust, little by little," Braze added, hoping to prepare Loomi for the commitment required in befriending the skittish lizards.

"It's tough to win 'friendship' from lizards, but I can show you how with the ones we catch. It's a process, though – might take a month or two,"

"Golly," Loomi muttered. "That's a long time."

Her time conscious with memory had been relatively short. Even as her past life became more clear to her, it was still patchy. It made everything seem so much longer on that kind of scale, since she hadn't really thought about time before. There had to be a better way to get the lizards to stick around. If they weren't keen on food, perhaps they would be willing to listen.

So Loomi sat down, breathed in, and opened her mind. She wasn't exactly sure what she was doing, but she had felt Ko Vuto Ko Vuto do something similar once before.

Maybe it was something she could do as well.

As Loomi settled down and began to focus, opening her mind in an attempt to connect with the green and blue butterfly-winged lizards, the atmosphere around them subtly shifted. The lizards, initially skittish and elusive, seemed to sense the change brought about by Loomi's use of the Force technique known as animal bond.

At first, the lizards paused in their fluttering and darting about, their vibrant wings momentarily still as they turned their small, curious heads towards Loomi. The air was filled with a gentle, almost tangible calm, as if nature itself was holding its breath, watching the interaction unfold.

Then, slowly, one of the lizards, emboldened by the peaceful energy emanating from Loomi, fluttered closer. Its wings, a mesmerizing blend of green and blue, shimmered in the light as it hovered in front of her, tilting its head as if studying her. Encouraged by this first brave soul, a few more lizards began to approach, their movements graceful and unhurried.

Loomi's heart began to swell with warmth.

It was working. She didn't immediately move to try to grab one. Instead the young padawan extended out her hand low to the ground, as though to invite the lizards to come sit in her palm if they wanted too. She couldn't help but think about how much knowing Ko had helped her improve. Would he be proud of her? She most certainly hoped so.

Regardless, Loomi sat in wait, anticipating what may come next...

The small creatures, initially hesitant, began to sense the warmth and safety emanating from her presence. One by one, they cautiously approached, their tiny feet padding softly against the ground.

The first lizard, bolder than the rest, made its way towards Loomi's outstretched palm. Its bright eyes glistened as it tilted its head, considering the gesture. With a small hop, it landed gently in her hand, its tiny claws barely perceptible against her skin. The lizard's smooth scales shimmered in the light, reflecting a kaleidoscope of colors.

Encouraged by the first, another lizard followed suit, leaping gracefully onto Loomi's palm to join its companion. It nestled comfortably next to the first, their tails curling together in a sign of love.

Soon, a few more lizards gathered the courage to join the gathering. They hopped and scampered, each finding a spot in the warm cradle of Loomi's hand.

Loomi's heart practically melted. She loved little creatures. They were positively adorable, and she couldn't help but just sit there and watch as the lizards nuzzled themselves into the palm of her hand. Her heart-rate increased, and after a moment the Godoan gently turned to show Braze, a proud smile on her face.

"I caught lizards," she declared, beaming.

This was fun.

"It was on the tip of his tongue to tell her that she cheated by using the Force, but something stopped him from saying such a thing as he looked at how happy and pleased she was with the cute little reptiles in her hands.

"So you did..."
Braze trailed off, becoming introspective for a few long moments as if he let something go into the ether.

"I guess I brought along the perfect partner for lizard catching, huh?"
he asked, his tone taking a playful, cheery note. "You're really good at this, Loomi! I never would have thought it'd be this easy." He praised her openly and fully, seemingly having come back to a different approach than his initial gut reaction.
