Green Thumb Jedi
Ko Vuto

NAME: Ko Vuto
FACTION: Galactic Alliance, New Jedi Order
RANK: Jedi Knight
SPECIES: Kel Dor
AGE: Young Adult
SEX: Male
HEIGHT: 6 ft
WEIGHT: 155 lbs
EYES: (Formerly) Grey
HAIR: None
SKIN: Peach
FORCE SENSITIVE: Yes

STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES: (WIP)

Well Rounded: Ko likes to seek out balance in all things including himself and his capabilities. To himself such goals are noble and healthy, not to rely specific skills and concepts for his duties as a Jedi. In the eyes of Ko a jack of all trades is preferable to being overly specialized in a specific aspect of life. This has also been fostered in his journey as a young Jedi as well, along with having some applicable technical skill as well form working with plenty of heavy machinery and the motorsport culture prevalent on Nubia.
Reflexes: Being a like many of his kin as not only as a Kel Dor, but also as a Jedi, Ko has heightened reflexes thanks to his extrasensory organs on his head. The natural ability being honed and refined through Jedi training. Making Ko a remarkably nimble and dexterous individual. This has also proven valuable to his abilities as a promising pilot as well.
Only a Jedi Deals in Absolutes?: For those familiar with Kel Dor it's common knowledge that they generally share a very strong sense of justice and moral judgement. Often needing to keep from indulging in his "better judgment" and smiting his foes were they might stand. Naturally feeling inclined to having a black and white sense of right and wrong. Ko is not exception to this trait that is common among his people. Although this ethical compass guides him well for the most part it can create conflict for himself from time to time.
Blinded: Ko has lost his sense of sight. Forcing him to adapt and have a new primary way of observing the world around him that relies heavily on The Force. This can allow for some extra sensory perception that he otherwise wouldn't have. However, The Force is needed to allow this to work. If his connection to The Force is damaged/altered, so is his ability to 'see' through it.
Lackluster Constitution: What Ko makes up for in reflexes and dexterity he lacks in physical hardiness. Despite his somewhat brawny physique for a member of his species it doesn't actually translate much to physical toughness. When opponents land hits on Ko they have a tendency to do a bit more damage than would otherwise normally be the case.
Toxic Air: This is more so a physical limitation for Ko being a Kel Dor, naturally he can only breath the Dorin atmosphere. Or a ship with a life support system replicate such conditions for himself. Otherwise he must always wear his breath mask so he can breath. However this very exploitable weakness of his can be managed somewhat with Breath Control and Detoxify Poison
Stubborn: Because of his black and white morality, Ko can be very determined to do what he believes is right. When it comes to the customs and culture of others and even within the Jedi code, it's not uncommon for him to be at odds with others. It is easy for him to judge and hard for him to overlook things that don't sit right with him.

APPEARANCE:
Ko is a rather typical Kel Dor possessing a breath mask he keeps on virtually all of the time as well as a matching part of goggles for his eyes. He has a rather tall, brawny build compared to most of his kind from his time hard at work on agriworlds across the galaxy. Although this translates into a more average physical strength compared to most humanoids in the galaxy. For clothes he tends to favor more traditional Jedi garbs and robes for their practicality and unobtrusiveness. However, he has recently been wearing a Jedi Jumpsuit more frequently as well. Although he pretty much wears the same thing every day, at least he doesn't need to worry about what he's going to wear in the morning. After some fierce battles now Ko has acquired some marks showing them. Firstly having a deep scar in the palm of his left hand. As well as several vicious claw marks across his right arm. Lastly hidden under his goggles are Ko's destroyed eyes. All the remains are sockets full of sensitive burned ocular tissue.
By Dorin standards Ko considered to be an exceptionally attractive/handsome young man. Even somewhat of a celebrity as well.

PERSONALITY:
Ko is a young man of principles. Although masterless as a padawan he has grown up with many mentors an instructors. One being his brother who at a young age taught him the values of courage and loyalty. Briefly with the Baran Do sages who instilled the values of patience and thoughtfulness in him as a young boy. But arguable most impactful of all are the Jedi. Spending many of his formative years within the agricrops developed an appreciation for the natural world not just for it's beauty but also as a teacher in of itself. Although nature can be serene and harmonious, it can be hostile and unforgiving.
The great outdoors could be credited as Ko's most profound mentor. An instructor as subtle as it is crude, it has set a good foundation for Ko and his journey as a Jedi. As a Kel Dor he has a kind and encouraging soul, often considerate and compassionate for those around. But he's also stubborn, with a strong yet ridged sense of right and wrong. Wanting to be swift and deliberate to any wrong doers he may come across. Even as a padawan he has taken a number of lives, and has little to no compunctions about bringing a quick end to his enemies. Mother Nature doesn't pull punches in its dog-eat-dog world. So Ko believes that he shouldn't either. Like virtually all who can hear the will of The Force, Ko will struggle with the Dark Side. The conflict within himself regularly taking the form of an internal battle between Justice and Revenge.
Also Ko's favorite beverage is Tea, and his favorite food is Tomato Soup.

CULTERAL INFLUENCES:
- Dorin: Naturally Ko's own home world has left a strong impression on him. Even though he has spent most of his life physically distant and away from Dorin, he still holds a strong connection to the tempestuous world. From things such as their paragon sense of justice and hospitality infusing, to ancient spirituality and the patient wisdom of the Baran Do Sages.
- Corellia/Nubia: Spending many of his formative years as an agricultural worker within the Corellian sector. Needless to say the intrepid, independent, and courageous values of Corellian culture have sunk into Ko. Although generally in a less pronounced way as his other influences and more mild mannered demeanor. Some of most lasting effects on his soul has been tight blending of both the wonders of nature and technology.
- Hutt: Notably less profound than other cultural influences. Elements of the wider Hutt civilization have germinated within Ko's psyche. After all Nubia was ruled by a venerable Hutt during his time as an agricultural worker.
- Atrisia: Developed more so as an enthusiastic interest through his hobbies, Ko has for years taken an interest in Atrisian culture, media and society. Even though it's not something he often shows and shares with others, it is no secret among his peers
- Cathar: More from circumstance than anything else. Ko has spent a fair amount of his padawan training on Cathar because of it being the home world of his Jedi Master. Where he could always appreciate the native closeness to the naturally world.
BIOGRAPHY:
Early Life
Born on his species home world of Kel Dor and into the Vuto Family. A family with a long and proud military tradition. Early on in his life Ko looked up to his older brother who’d enlisted in the Imperial military that governed Dorin at the time. Not long into his older brother’s military career it was discovered they were Force Sensitive, though only mildly, and thus didn’t get recruited into the ranks of the imperial knights. Back on Dorin however, Ko when this news reached Ko he was brought in by the local monastic order of the Baran Do Sages. However, it was quickly made apparent that Ko was a poor fit for the order.
Ko was tenacious even as a young child and wanted to be more like his older brother. Someone he still looked up to and saw as fighting the good fight against Maw marauders to the west. In their wisdom members of the order foresaw the waning of The Empire, who’s borders encompassed Dorin. They reached out to the Jedi order for a recruit to meet with Ko and hopefully take him. Sensing the boy’s lackluster sensitivity they suspected he would join the ranks of one of the Jedi’s service corps. The Jedi recruiter that met with Ko was impressed by the Kel Dor boy. Not by his connection to the Force, but instead his spirit and grit. Coming to a similar conclusion to the sages that he would do better under the Jedi’s umbrella rather.
With that Mutual understanding Ko was sent off to the galactic core at the Jedi Temple on coruscant. There he began his training with other initiates, where he was regularly outclassed by his contemporaries. Rarely did it leave Ko with feelings of frustration unless an instructor showed some bias or favoritism towards his fellow initiates. Which generally caused the young Kel Dor to mouth off to his superiors at the perceived injustice which tended to get him in trouble. Many of his higher ups believed he was destined for the service corps. Ko however, did not believe his fate was set in stone, and that the fluidity of fate and The Force might have something else in store.

Becoming a Padawan

Eventually Ko did pass the initiate trials, and was fully qualified to become a Padawan. Although he wasn’t gifted much at all, he was studious, and determined. It was not his time yet, and he was okay with that. No master was available or willing to train a padawan they had little confidence in. He recognized this, but on his own initiative sought out the service corps himself which was something of a shock to his higher ups and fellow initiates. He was being brought up in a time of relative peace in the galaxy, a time of healing and reconstruction, not fighting. Ko got into a roll similar to that of the old Jedi AgriCorps and served dutifully on agriworlds along the western stretches of space that suffered from Maw incursions.
His training never stopped though, and continued to learn much from the common people across the stars. Ko was satisfied by his work as a farmer. Whereas some of his contemporaries might have stuck their noses up at the position, Ko did a lot of good, albeit more subtly than the flashy guardians. Even learning to supplement his own capabilities in The Force through the environment. The Force was in all things after all.

Although great galactic wars battles weren’t as common, local conflicts across planets, systems and sectors persisted. While serving on a distant planet along with the more wild outer rim of the galaxy the planet he was on was attacked. Bandits from the Maw sought to hurt and take from those they saw as vulnerable. Ko being a kel dor still at heart, and a strong sense of justice would not stand for it. He might not be as skilled with a blade like a guardian, knowledgeable as a consular, or pragmatic as a Sentinel. But he was still a Jedi, and Adept in his training with The Force. Aiding the Jedi watchmen that oversaw the system he was on, Ko fought off the marauders with extreme prejudice. Just because he was good didn’t mean he was soft. The Jedi watchmen Ko fought alongside recognized the Kel Dor’s surprising talent and made the serious recommendation of pursuing knighthood in the order.
Now Ko is continuing his Jedi training as a Padawan using the time and wisdom he’d gained among the common folks across the galaxy to his benefit. Not dreading his time in the agricorp but cherishing it and letting the work further humble him.
