Public The Ukatis Harvest Festival

Cqg5tLA.png

Atp8MfG.png

Found just off of the intersection of the Corellian Trade Spine and Rimma Trade Route, Ukatis is a relatively unknown, largely unremarkable planet. Though gradually modernizing with a handful of sprawling cities, Ukatis is a traditional agrarian world that operates under a feudal system. In an attempt to throw off the yoke of their previous king's isolationist policies, Ukatis has recently joined the Galactic Alliance and opened their borders to trade, travelers, and tourists alike.

Far away from the industrial capital of Axilla, the annual Harvest Festival in rural Ascania territory is in full swing. City streets are lined with colorful scraps of fabric and adorned with flowers, strung overhead from building to building in a criss-cross of brightly perfumed pigments. Vendors selling local foods, crafts, and other wares eagerly tend to their customers, haggling and shouting over the festival buzz. Adorned in festive flower crowns, children and adults alike entertain themselves with carnival games: tossing rings onto pegs, throwing axes, and other adjacent activities.

The atmosphere is cheerful and upbeat— after all, this year the celebration was open to visitors from off-world!

4XjHmkg.png

Winding through the streets and spilling out into the town square are numerous vendors and their booths. Indulge in some local cuisine—including the festival's famous apple dumplings—or peruse local wares. Artisans from all over Ukatis have congregated here, selling locally made weapons, crafts, and treats.

Carnival games are giving out prizes, and one galactically savvy vendor managed to stock Ginko Pop colleable figurines of famous galactic faces as prizes. Enjoy activies such as ring tossing, axe throwing, strength testing and more!

One merchant is even selling purebred Ukatian racyon kits with numerous distinctive color patterns. Highly prized for their companionship and precognitive abilities, these small, dog-like creatures make fine pets.

The Ascania family has graciously opened up their estate gardens for festival goers to peruse. Connected seamlessly to the party by a short corridor, these well-manicured yet lush gardens make a perfect quiet retreat from the noise and energy of the celebrations.

Feel free to wander the maze-like greenery and admire the foliage and statues, or seat yourself at one of the many private benches and relax.

Atp8MfG.png

For the first time in months since her marriage to Prince Horace von Cholmondeley III Horace von Cholmondeley III , Corazona suddenly found herself in familiar territory. Royalty generally did not concern themselves with folk festivals, but Ascania lands were her home. More importantly, this was the first of Ukatis' local celebrations open to the public from off-world. Even more importantly, a special invitation had been extended to the denizens of the Galactic Alliance, perhaps as an attempt to help smooth over the what had been a disastrous first impression.

Her husband had his own thoughts on the matter, but privately Cora had hoped that some of the friends and connections she'd made during her time in the New Jedi Order hadn't been too put off by her home planet to attend. Politics aside, she wanted to share with them something positive about the world that had shaped her.

Flanked by a handmaid and several royal guards as protocol dictated, the Princess was given a wide berth as she made her way down one of the city streets. Something caught her eye, and she abruptly stopped in front of a merchant who'd spread an assortment of dolls over his table. Staring back at her was a Ginko Pop figurine of Valery Noble Valery Noble —only instead of purple, the lightsaber in her little plastoid hands was red.

The vendor, suddenly looking quite anxious, quickly straightened his back and dipped his head in a deep bow.

"Your Highness, is there something...in particular that you are looking for?"

Tilting her chin downward in a gesture of acknowledgment, Cora spoke, transfixed on the collectible toy featuring her Master, which also happened to have a hilarious misprint.

"How much for this one?" She motioned to the figurine. The man raised his head tentatively, wide eyes shifting to squint at the Valery doll.

"If it pleases Her Highness, then it is hers."

Noble decorum kept Cora's expression even. It was also the only thing keeping her from shooing away the stone-faced entourage who'd kept in seamless step a mere few paces behind. The Princess wouldn't deny that special treatment could be nice at times, but this was getting absurd for even her.

Holding back a tsk, Cora took a half-step back in order to read the sign she'd ignored during her approach.

"Twenty credits, then."

The vendor looked startled. "Your Highness, you needn't-"

"But I insist. I am sure you worked hard to gather your stock for tis festival; it would be rude of me to walk away with this doll without paying for it."

The merchant looked as though he thought better of what he wanted to say. Cora held out her hand, palm up, to the maid that flanked her left. The woman retrieved a pouch of credits from her pocket before placing exact change in the Princess' hand, which were then exchanged for the amusing Valery doll.

"Keep the rest and go have fun."

The handmaid looked towards her charge, surprised, and the three guards exchanged glances. A pair of racyon scampered by, one with a mouthful of apple dumpling and the other with some sort of smoked sausage. It was enough to break the stunned silence.

"Your Highness, we cannot simply leave you in such-"

"You can." Cora insisted with a wave of her hand, polite but firm. "This is a festival, Marian. You're supposed to have fun. Go eat something fattening or play a silly game. You needn't worry about me; I grew up on this land, and more than familiar with the layout. Go on now, you are dismissed for the day. All of you."

The Princess arched a manicured blonde eyebrow.

"That is an order."

Once her attendants had dispersed into the crowd, Cora felt as if she could finally breathe.

OOC: Welcome to the Ukatis Harvest Festival! This is a public thread open to everyone. In the spirit of this being a festive social thread, I ask that attendees do not engage in overly violent behavior. I.E. No lightsaber duels, beheadings, terrorist attacks etc. Getting drunk and starting a fistfight is okay; orbital bombardments are frowned upon.

To say the Cathar felt out of place was an understatement. She’d never been to this planet, let alone a formal event. Lucky for her, she had gone shopping before the event with Lily. If she was going to go to a harvest festival, she was going to do it in style. Wearing a traditional cathar gown she had reconstructed from her shopping trip, while not made of traditional cloth like she would have wanted, did do the trick for now. She was representing the jedi now. Time to put on your hero face Jonyna...

Arriving on the planet, she immediately found herself much more at home with the rural feel of the town, taking a moment after stepping off her ship to take a whiff of the fresh air and floral scents. Oh, to be in nature once more...

Of course, as she stepped into the festival itself, her ears picked up the sounds of racycon kits. She had to pause to consider it, before beaming at the idea, rushing towards the booth. She'd never had a pet before!

"Mommy? Can I have one of the plushies?" Vera asked with big puppy eyes, while she held her mother's hand and walked along the market. Valery blinked, stopped looking around for familiar faces for a moment, and glanced down at her daughter. "They're not plushies, sweetie. Those are Racyons, real creatures," Valery explained with a chuckle, but Vera just pouted, showing clearly that she didn't like that answer at all.

"But...pleeeaaase," she tried again, and Valery smiled a little brighter, her eyes now shifting to Kahlil Noble Kahlil Noble . "We did talk about getting a pet once..." Valery tried herself just a little bit. She knew this wasn't exactly what they were thinking about at the time, but Vera seemed to really love them, and Valery struggled telling her no when her heart was so pure about something.

"You uh, think we'll see Cora or other familiar faces?" Valery then asked as they continued to walk, whether or not getting a Racyon was going to be an option today. Valery had already been looking around, hoping she could see Cora for the first time since she helped rescue Valery from captivity. She really wanted to give Cora a hug for it, but until then, she'd enjoy her time with the family.

"We should play some games again. I missed out last time at the Arcade because I was pregnant."

"Yeah! Games!" Vera exclaimed excitedly. "And plushie...?"

An invite had been sent. Although it was not a personal one. Corazona von Ascania Corazona von Ascania might not even remember me after her visit for tea. I am sure that much has happened since then for me to be so easily forgotten. Afterall, she has had a wedding and much more by the way of responsibilities. New friends can easily slip through the cracks.

I too have had an increase in responsibilities, however it is not through marriage. I have not yet been courted by anyone for that possibility. No, my responsibilities lie in becoming a junior member of the Board of Directors for the New Cov Biomolecule Company. I now have my own office instead of having to use the drawing room of my family's appartment in Ilic. There is indeed a lot for me to be thankful for.

I can see the festival up ahead as I walk with my guards. The dress that my Mother had chosen for me is gorgeous, even while I cannot see the colors. The fact that it covers much of my skin allows for me not to gain much sunlight upon my skin in order to keep it pale. And oh how the temperature is not as warm as I have expected. New Cov is hot and humid in nature, even inside of the biodomes that protect the cities from the lethal flora and fauna that call the jungles home. I am thankful at the very least to not be worried about catching a chill while I am here.

My guards keep close and silent as we walk in. I cannot help but smile as I take in the festive atmosphere. I just hope that a visit here proves to be a fruitful one. I must do well if I am to maintain my position, afterall. For within the Board of Directors I am almost certain that there is a plot underway to remove my family from it entirely. I cannot allow myself to do any wrongs or missteps, for it would only add more fuel to the fire.

Dress

All of the sensory was overwhelming. Loomi had never been to such a bustling market before, drawn in by the invites to the festival taking place on Ukatis. They had opened it to the Alliance, which included her, and the Godoan was far to captured by the allure of it all to not attend. Thankfully she wasn't alone in this venture, as her friend Ko had also decided to come along. She was quite happy about that.

Loomi couldn't help but be drawn to the different sights, her attention always being grabbed by one booth or another. Before long she had noticed a recurring article of clothing, what appeared to be flower crowns. A frown came to her face as she looked at more as civilians passed by going about their time at the festival. Before long, the Godoan was grabbing at random leaves and flowers as she passed them, using her skills in Mist Weaving to put together a wreath that had an ever so faint glow to it, the light of the thread she had pulled from the force. She placed it on her head before continuing to make another, turning to her Kel Dor companion with a warm smile.

"Want one?" she asked. "I made two."

Serena stared at an enclosure full of racyon kits, her tawny eyes huge. "I want that," she said, pointing.

"Which one?" Inanna asked.

"All of them!"

"Nah, you can't have them all. That's too many for one person to take care of."

"But he has all of them right now," Serena said, pointing to the merchant selling the kits.

Inanna looked at him, then at Serena, raising an eyebrow. "You still have to leave some for the other kids who want pets." She glanced at Cato. Something told her he wouldn't be all that keen on the idea of having another pet. "And, uh, better ask Daddy if you can have one."

"Daddy!" Serena exclaimed, immediately running up to Cato. "Can I have one of those?"

"Say please."

"Please?"

Could cute and cuddly animals make up for a case of diplomacy gone wrong? Probably not, but the racyons certainly seemed to be trying to bridge the gap. While the Ukatians were quite familiar with the creatures, the offworlders were in a craze over the racyons; the various visitors to Ukatis all seemed to want to pet them, hold them, or buy them as pets.

Elsewhere in the marketplace, a puppet show which not-so-subtly poked fun at the royal family was being performed. Princess "Carazoni" and Prince "Horatio" were resolving their marital problems through violence, as was the Ukatian way. The puppet prince, furious with his wife for making a cuckold of him, chased the princess around the tiny stage with a wooden stick - only for her to pull out a bigger, painted wooden stick (clearly a mockup of a Jedi's lightsaber) and chase him.

The audience was howling with laughter, and so was Giselle. Sitting on a bench with her hands full of sweets, neither her parents nor a single guard or attendant in sight, she still wasn't quite as carefree as the peasant children who made up the bulk of the audience. She had grown up in the time that had passed since the disastrous gala, girlish features giving way to those of a young woman. But she wasn't quite too old for such things, and besides, this show was funny. She could use a laugh right now.

Desric felt decidedly out of place. The socialite had shown up primarily to support Corazona von Ascania Corazona von Ascania since the event seemed important to her, but the rugged surroundings made him uneasy. There was no way the food stands fulfilled proper health and safety standards and the amount of dirt present was appalling.

It likely did not help that he looked every part the obnoxious nobleman - he had 'dressed-down' by wearing a simple tunic and trousers, but the cloth was worth more than most houses and the pair of droids flanking him were telling.

His choice to have them adorned with gilded floral patterns to seem less intimidating was likely only partially successful - and completed the image of nobility or possibly even royalty making a half-assed attempt to seem 'folksy'.

"Oooo, they're adorable! Maybe we should introduce some to Arcadia," Cadence crooned, her Eyebot chassis drifting near the Racyon kits; she seemed to be fluctuating her lights in a way that delighted the creatures.

Being half Balamakin himself, Finley felt right at home on the agri-world of Ukatis. Warm memories of spending the summers helping his maternal cousins harvest the fields bubbled back to the forefront of his mind as his observed the vast expanse of golden crop fields from orbit. He let out a few anxious breaths as he landed the consular shuttle, his first real foray into diplomacy on his own.

The Concord may be gone, but the local economies of the Mytaranor sector still chugged onward. The business world of Randon, in particular, hungered for new markets and the opening of Ukatis offered the perfect opportunity for expansion. So the delegation had arrived to connect their local droid manufacturers and fertilizer producers with farmers on the Inner Rim world. The Wookiees of Kashyyyk also offered unique luxury items that expertly blended technology and nature into attractive offerings, their exotic refined wares sure to appeal to the upper echelons of the neo-feudal society.

Meeting against the backdrop of the Ukatis' annual harvest festival was a happy coincidence, where people were often their most jovial and open minded to such deal making.

For now, though, the delegation would split up to immerse themselves with the local and enjoy the festivities after a long transit. Finley found himself escorting one of the Randoni Commerce Guild Members, Princess Rozalyne Kurganova, and her Wookiee counterpart, Vakarr. Outside of their official duties, they had been friends dating back to the Concord days. In a way, all three of them had to step up in the abscence of their old hierarchy. As per usual, his faithful astromech companion Puck was also present, flitting around the trio while whistling softly at the sights of the festival.

Upon entering the market area, Finley spied a food stall selling the world famous apple dumplings. As a treat he bought baskets of pastries for everyone (sans Puck - perhaps he'd get an oil shot later). Vakarr almost immediately scarfed his dumplings down with happy purrs of satisfaction, though Rozalyne seemed content to pick at hers with tiniest of nibbles.

"You know, Princess, I'm happy to volunteer as your food taster," he teased between big bites of his own.

"On the contrary, I am savoring this confection, which is positively divine," she raved. "I know you're a jockey, but I'd like to inform you that not everything has to be a race, Master Jedi."

Finley snorted at their own little in-joke. A stunted knight, and a princess of nothing.

<I mean, it was just like a little bite to me> Vakarr chimed in. <I could probably go for another 20. They're so good!>

Finley held out a time out sign to Vakarr. "Direct such concerns to Roze', you know the one with the nine mansions and five Nubian super yachts in this friend group. I'm still on those Jedi wages, which is to say none."

It was Rozalyne's turn to snort. "I do recall my government signing a paid contract with you for this trip." She reminded him. "And it's six super yachts thank you very much," she added sarcastically.

<Yes, mine too!>

Finley groaned, not because he didn't have the credits, but because he had just witnessed the site of a Ginko Pop stand out of the corner of his eye. So much for saving, he could already feel the black hole swirling down in the depths of his wallet.

So again began the great inner conflict between responsible frugal Jedi and prolific plastoid collector.

Opening the side of his messenger bag wrapped around the shoulder, Merlyn's hand dove inside before cupping a few pieces of Ukatisian credits. Holding the few pieces of coin in his hand, each step brought him closer and closer towards the stand full of Ginko Pops. His eyes briefly peered away and past the stand further down.

Apple Dumplings. His second destination in mind. A raised eyebrow and a chuckle escaped him, however, as he approached a certain scene playing out before him. A royal shooing all her guards and handmaidens away. A rare sight he had not seen in a long time. A small and casual two-fingered salute from his head would greet the royal guards passing him, and a small nod to the handmaiden.

Before stepping near the stand and the royal woman.

"It's been a while since I've heard someone order their entourage to have fun," Merlyn finally cast a glance towards the royal, followed by his gaze dropping to the figurine she held, "Although, perhaps you should have kept the guards. Some collectors might kill for a misprinted Noble figurine."

A small smirk flashed across his face at his own remark before just as quickly disappearing. Tossing the coins in his hand into the air and catching them without care, Merlyn leaned against the stall and glanced inside across the various wares before pointing at one particular Ginko Pop. Princess Corazona von Ascania. Always a good idea to buy a figurine from its historical homeworld, right?

"That particular one there, please," Merlyn soon nodded his head as the seller grabbed the correct Pop figurine, "Thank you."

If perhaps his bag had not felt so light with coin as well as his particular appetite for dumplings, the raggedy man would have more of his share of the current stock of Ginko Pops. Alas, instead he would find himself raising an eyebrow instead. While they exchanged credits and figurine, the stall owner casted a look between Merlyn.

And the woman standing next to him. Curious.

Holding the figurine in one hand and pushing himself away from the stand with the other, Merlyn began opening his satchel and sorting the little trinket away safely. Not a single drop of attention spared towards the Ginko's likeness.

Life is all about highs and lows. You're on top of the mountain, you're in the deepest gulf. It fluctuates, up, down, up, down. Last week was an abyss for me. Nightmares, specters, ghosts of the pasts. Drank myself to oblivion, cried myself to the next morning. That's how it goes, and it was as intended. When you go so deep, you will find a launchpad, ready to shoot you up back to the mountaintop. That's how it goes, the best way to reach the high is to delve deep in the low. Look where it brought me. The Ukatis Harvest Festival. For most attendants, it's a festive day of celebration. For me, however, this is my first big assignment. Locate a certain senator, try to find a crack, a loophole, where I can come in and complete my mission. Easy as a peanut.

The best way to reach the high is to delve deep in the low. Last week, I was sloshing in my dusty apartment, cheap booze and unnecessary feelings. Today, I'm out in one of the biggest festivals of the outer rim, looking as sharp as ever. I can feel all the eyes going towards my direction in the bustling market, for good reasons. Most of the time, I hate those gazes, those vile invading gazes, but not today. Today, I'm on my high, my look can compete with anyone, perhaps even with the princess ( Corazona von Ascania Corazona von Ascania ) herself. I'll take all the glances supporting the notion.

Walking around the marketplace, through the florists and Racyon merchants, I spotted some familiar faces. The Cathar ( DeadpoolMLP DeadpoolMLP ) and the Godoan-cyborg ( Loomi Loomi ), from the fortunate night that propelled me from the depth of the abyss. There's also a certain Jedi master ( Valery Noble Valery Noble ), with her husband ( Kahlil Noble Kahlil Noble ) and kids. If I was here for pleasure, I wouldn't think twice indulging myself in a conversation with the beautiful family. The charity ball incident, after all, ended on good terms, and it would be an honor to converse with the lucky husband, in real-time. This is not a pleasure trip, however. Perhaps once I have one of my legs within the reach of the target, I can backtrack and introduce myself to the entirety of the Nobles.

For now, my eyes remain focused on the gaudy young senator, the second-in-line of House Terassi, the associate director of Globex. I'm talking about, of course, the one and only, Senator Desric Terassi Desric Terassi . All accounts in the dossier pointed out that the charming young senator is a gregarious gentleman, as well-versed as me, if not more natural, in the art of navigating the upper-crust of GA's society. That opens so many doors, guarded and surveilled, but still gateways nonetheless, in which I can come in through. As they say, all roads lead to the heart of the senator, and I might start with one.
"Oooo, they're adorable! Maybe we should introduce some to Arcadia," Cadence crooned, her Eyebot chassis drifting near the Racyon kits; she seemed to be fluctuating her lights in a way that delighted the creatures.

"They are magnificent, indeed. I might also take some back to Korbin, introduce some bliss to the somber court."

I gently shoved myself into the conversation, only giving the senator and his creepy droid companion a timid glance. Truth be told, I'm not sure if this approach would work. All the whispers indicated that the young senator has preference for anything with a pulse and breathing, but it could just be mummers after all. Regardless, they say that love comes wearing disguises, and here I am, disguising as someone much more important than I actually am. More of a lie to myself than the world, but I digress. The sun is still shining and anything more would not be appropriate, but it's a good chance to gauge the disposition.
"Apologize, I must have gotten myself way ahead. I'm Thania. Thania Petrui."

I forced a cute giggle to come out from my chest, covering my mouth lightly in the process. It might not fit my age, but people always told me that I look six years younger than I actually am, anyway, so hopefully the first hook latches.

Ko honestly had not even known about this planet until very recently. Which wasn’t all that detrimental since it wasn’t open to the Galactic Alliance until now. But from the short time he’d spent already on the planet he quite liked it. There was a quaintness to the world that he made it feel rather familiar to him with a fair bit of anachronistic energy to really make it stand out.

In addition to this the padawan wasn’t alone and had his friend Loomi with him as well. Someone he regrettably hasn’t interacted with much since their mission together on Indoumodo. So it was definitely nice to spend some time together at this festival. Once more she was wearing her purple dress that he’d seen her in before. He himself still wore his traditional Jedi robes

Ko looked back down at Loomi as she gave him a smile. Just now noticing the circlet of flowers that now adorned her head. It was a nice addition to her already floral dress. The Kel Dor nodded before gently taking the flower crown and looking down at it, holding it carefully so as to not break it by accident. Initially imagining a crown of flowers to be. However, it seemed to be surprisingly durable. Placing it on his bumpy head Ko smiled back at Loomi.

“Thanks Loomi, How do I look?” He said jokingly. “Now the two of us can fit in better.Ko understood that that was probably not going to be the case. The two were pretty strange looking by conventional standards. The Kel Dor looked around some at the market place. His covered eyes glancing at the various food stance and he frowned a bit under his mask and let out a sigh. Not thinking he'd be able to try any of the food here. He had his special straw though, maybe he could try a local beverage instead.

The Marketplace, heading for the Gardens

It was a world he had never imagined he would set foot on. Perhaps one day everything would have hurt less and he might have been permitted to return and visit Cora as a friend. He wasn't there yet.

Makko was still hurting, but he was past the worse of it. He had lost Cora to tradition and Utakis as much as the Prince himself. It had been long enough that he wouldn't do anything rash.

He didn't even know if he would approach her. A lot was going to depend on just how hard it hit him to see Cora.

Makko meandered through the market, pretending to look at stalls as he lived inside his own head.

To say that Ukatis is a backwater is an understatement. I've been to a couple of them, Entralla being one. Castles and brick roads. However, it is the Outer Rim, that's quite expected. This, however, an Inner Rim world, with all their holier-than-thou righteous civilization nonsense, it's laughable. It's like going through a history book, to a time where space travel wasn't even a thing. It is beautiful, however, I can't deny it. A refreshing view, from the usual skyscrapers of Muunilinst. Every system has its purpose, maybe Ukatis' purpose is as a memory lane to see the beauty of the past.

The recent mishaps within House Amnen, and the newly established Covenant in general, means there are jobs to be done. Sure, the monarchies have maintained their isolationist outlook for forever. Yet today, House Amnen decided to let us mingle with the royalties throughout the galaxy. A kid, 13 years young, on a diplomatic visit. Sounds cruel, borderline child-labor-ish, I know, but given what has happened in the past few months, it is necessary. Besides, I bet Arlo Amnen Arlo Amnen would enjoy the beauty of this cradle of civilization.

With us, of course, a Justicar, which just happened to be Kelinna Tryn Kelinna Tryn . Perfect, she'll kill me with that death glare if I sip on just a glass of wine. Rightfully, this time, since this is an uncharted territory for all of us. For Arlo, going so far from the safety of House Amnen, for me, going around a weird place with a diplomatic responsibility, and for Talleh, maybe going outside of the Braxant Run, I'm not sure if she's ever been.

We walked towards what seemed to be a marketplace. It reminds me of Entralla, the scene at the funeral. Except this one is mostly festivity. I've never seen this many aliens fit in one place, not in the last few years. The Covenant's territories are very human dominated. Here, it's different. There are people that look like cats, people with antennas popping out their forehead, people with faces looking like male genitalia. The last one almost made me balked publicly. What a weird, magnificent galaxy we live in. Oh lord, I really do need a drink.

The last time Jedi had intermingled with Ukatian nobility, the night had ended on a decidedly awkward note. Which was why Amani was initially hesitant about even showing up. The tension from the engagement party was palpable, and probably did more to burn bridges than help Cora in any way. But here they were again, with another public event, and Alliance citizens welcome to attend. There were bound to be others from the Order there. And perhaps if things could remain civil, then the presence of some old friends and allies could be just the show of support Cora needed.

That was what Amani hoped, anyway. Besides, what better excuse to take her children to their first off-world excursion? At least here, with other noteworthy names from Ukatis and the rest of the Alliance alike, the Organas wouldn't be stuck in the limelight. "Say cheese!" Amani waggled her pinkie, which Lia had an ironclad grip on, to give the impression that the baby was waving at the camera. But Lia herself was simply watching the display with her ever-constant mix of infantile wonder and confusion, "Look! Look over at your dad!" Amani nudged her head towards Alicio, who had been struggling to get a worthy picture of the girls for a solid minute. August was growing restless in his pram.

"Get her attention somehow. She just keeps looking at me," The mirialan laughed.

Cato had just went to get them all treats, and stopped a few yards away, grimacing the moment he saw Serena with her eyes on the racyon kits. She ran up to ask the inevitable question, and he slowly blinked, "We uhhh… We already have a pet, y'know. Isn't Elfangor enough for you?" Not that too much of something was typically a dissuading factor for Serena, "We don't even know if they'd get along or not." He interjected, before even knowing what her response would be to his first question.

Cato crunched down, and held out the food he had purchased for her. It was some kind of honeyed treat on a stick, "I got you this. Wanna try?" Distracting with sweets? Foolproof plan. Sometimes.

Dreidi arrived on Ukatis, the second time she had ever visited the planet. She was curious to see how Corazona was coping with the new life of being a princess. She was interested in seeing what would be at the market place for the festival, it was of interest for her since the last time she visited she only saw the upper classes of society and their ways of lives.

Arriving, Dreidi was wearing her attire that was more fitting for her appearance as a witch of Dathomir. Her tattooed arms on display and her pale skin reflecting brightly in the sunlight as she wandered the streets. Her eyes gazing over the individual stalls and what was on offer. Her lips curled into a smile as she checked out what was on offer. It was typical stalls one might think for a festival then there were stalls of racyons as well.

She took a closer look at the racyons and inspected them curious. She had known other witches have companion animals, or having bonded to animals but for the most part Dreidi had not really felt that draw. She was curious if this was something she should look into during a future visit to Dathomir. Or even Kashyyyk.

Pulling away from the stall, she continued to walk slowly around, curious who else would be at the festival. Curious if Corazona might be around so she could see how her friend was getting along.

Dress

“Thanks Loomi, How do I look?”

"Quite elegant," she teased, chuckling with the slight hint of a snort. "All you need is a proper gown."

They didn't fit in here. Nothing made that any more clear than by simply looking around. Strange alien beings stood out on a human world, especially when they sported robotic legs, breathing masks, and sensory organs just to name a few. That was okay, Loomi decided. Maybe she wasn't as comfortable in her own skin as she'd like to be, given her surfacing memories, but being in good company did a lot to alleviate her anxieties. The Godoan would worry about looking weird some other time.

Loomi squeaked in surprise as something ran into the side of her mechanical leg, catching the glimpse of something small and hairy as it scampered by. She squinted her good eye to get a look at the creature as it ran off, getting a good look at the Ukatian Racyon's fuzzy face before it dipped into an alleyway. Her eye dilated in that moment, filled with determination. Loomi turned to Ko, a look on her face one might expect of a child about to beg their parent for a new pet.

"We gotta catch one," the teen proclaimed. "I think I'm gonna die if I don't."

"We uhhh… We already have a pet, y'know. Isn't Elfangor enough for you? We don't even know if they'd get along or not."

"Elfangor is Mommy's pet," Serena pointed out. "I want my own pet."

Serena was indeed distracted by the treat Cato offered her. She seized the stick with both hands, heedless of the mess, and immediately stuck it in her mouth.

"Ah-ah, careful of the stick," Inanna warned, appearing at Serena's side. "What do you say?"

"Thank you," Serena said, her words muffled by the food.

Smiling in approval, Inanna turned her head to offer Cato a kiss. "What else did you get?" she asked. There were a lot of weird foods floating around this marketplace, and she'd be lying if the possibility of a heretofore unknown allergy cropping up in Serena hadn't crossed her mind. Or Inanna herself, for that matter. But at the same time, it was fun to try new things, even if it meant a trip to the hospital afterwards.

You know that feeling that one gets when they instinctly know that they are being watched? I have that feeling now. It seeps through the pores of my entire being. And this is very much different than being under the watchful eye of my guards. There is something more sinister about it.

I have a shadow.

I have felt this feeling before. It has happened on a few occasions while I have attended board meetings. I had surmised that it was merely the fact that the rest of the Board of Directors other than my parents and their allies were judging me with their gazes. But now with the goings on behind the scenes to undermine my family; I am not so sure that I can put any faith into anything but my instincts.

I glance down at my ring, despite knowing that being outside in the bright daylight will not allow me to witness if it happens to glow. Still, it brings me a small bit of comfort, for I am sure to be alone in a varitable sea of Force magicians.

I take in a breath and let it out slowly, if only in a bid to relax my anxiety. With a flick of my wrist, I open up my feathered fan and start to use it while I approach a booth displaying many fabrics. The simple movement and gentleness of the breeze it creates helps me as well. It is also a signal to my guards of my discomfort. "Keep an eye out. I am sure that--"

"You are not the only board member here, Miss Terallo," my head guard interjects quietly under his breath. "Eiden Mohanii is here as well."

I close my eyes when I hear that name. Eiden is very much like his late father, Moireach. And he is the last person that I would want to shadow me. I can only imagine why he is here. Observant and silent until he cuts one down with his words. His plots are rife with deceipt, his deeds full of malice. I hate him, however decorum dictates that I cannot display such hatred in public. I can only be thankful that he is not known to be a Force magician. I dare not wish to get close enough to him to put him to the test.

I reopen my eyes and continue shopping; or at the very least I pretend to. "Keep an eye on him, then. Whatever his motives are, they cannot be positive ones. We may have to keep this visit shorter than intended."

"Understood, Miss Terallo."

Now I rethink my attire. I should have dressed akin to a local. Yet Eiden would surely hold that against me as well. I can only hope that something else distracts him from me.
