    Personality

    Happy-go-lucky, carefree, laid back, and loud, Valin can best be described as an overgrown puppy in a giant’s body. He is typically a bright, playful, excitable soul who often behaves with a certain immaturity born of that restless energy. He loves to roughhouse, enjoys a good brawl, and takes interest in combat in nearly all its forms. Machines and guns fascinate him. He may become overzealous, and at times his emotions burst out with explosive force. When left unmanaged and to his own devices, he is deeply impulsive and strong-willed… a fault that has cost him dearly more than once.



    APPEARANCE​




    Valin is immense, broad-shouldered, and powerfully built, a towering figure of white hair, warmed tan skin, and mismatched blue eyes. His body bears the cost of a life lived headlong: a missing right arm, a missing left leg, electrical scarring across his face, and blindness in his right eye. Even so, there is something fiercely alive about him, the sense of a man too stubborn to be diminished by what he has survived.

  • Backstory



    From a young age, Valin was larger than most of his peers and possessed strength and speed far beyond an ordinary child. The Jedi feared he might harm himself or others, and so in his earliest years they kept him away from the other children. When he reached roughly ten years of age, they finally began allowing him to play among them. He remained much larger, but he seemed to injure little beyond toys and furniture. As he grew, so too did his power. He stayed physically stronger than any normal human child his age, and that size and strength made him popular among the younger ones. Many looked up to him as though he were already an adult.

    During his teens, Valin was rebellious and troublesome. He snuck out of the temple and caused fights when his antics spun beyond control. In time, he was taken in by a master who brought him away on sabbatical, out beyond temple walls, where he could learn discipline and restraint. Over time, he gained better control of his emotions and a firmer sense of self-discipline. He learned to use his strength for the good of others, and not merely for himself.

    Yet his headstrong, hot-under-the-collar nature never truly changed. He became fervently zealous in opposition to the dark side, believing it had been loosed upon the galaxy and that peace could only come through its purging. That made many within the temple view him as unstable, or even dangerous. At some point he crossed paths with a practitioner of the dark side and suffered badly at that person’s hand, enduring not only defeat but torment and mockery besides. The humiliation of it settled deep… and only made him burn harder against the darkness thereafter.
