- Unstable Plasma: The ammo was redesigned with the modern conflict in mind. While the blaster on the surface looks like a normal blaster rifle, the shots it fires have a tendency to explode upon impact with material it can't pierce through.
- Field Tested: The weapon is designed with war in mind, every part having come from weapons already within the GA's arsenal, and thus parts are plentiful.
- Modularity: With the hindsight of future designs of Si Tech, the Claw was redesigned with modularity in mind. While this
- Heavy Fire: The Claw was built with a new philosophy in mind. With the upcoming war against the Enclave, the GADF needed a new weapon that would give them an edge. Thus, the Claw was designed to fire blaster bolts that would normally be fired out of larger, anti-material blasters. While this brings down the rate of fire, it does mean the troops on the ground have a better chance at stunning, or even taking down a mandalorian.
- Ammo Types: While the Claw is designed for typical blaster fire, it does also have a stun and ion function.
- Field Maintenance: The weapon, due to the forethought of it's designer, is easily disassembled and every part as a result is easily replaceable.
- Explosive Shot: Designed to combat against beskar armor, the blaster bolt, upon impact with something that it can't pierce, explodes into a ball of plasma and concussive force equal to what held the bolt together, thus rattling whatever's inside of the armor it hit.
- Slow to Fire: The blaster, as opposed to other blaster rifles, is much slower in it's fire rate as a result of it's increased firepower.
- A Bit of a Kick: Due to it's heavy firepower, the Claw has a heck of a recoil to it. Sustained fire might bruise your shoulder.
- Stealth? What's that?: The Claw was not designed for stealth missions, nor is it capable of them. It a loud sum'bich.
With the War between the GA and the Enclave on the horizon, the GADF put out a contest for a new set of standard issue blaster rifle trials, which Rara Gowasi, despite being only 14, won with the GAAB-27, a blaster that was designed to combat Mandalorian Armor through heavy firepower, and a redesigned power pack that causes the bolt to explode on whatever it can't pierce.
