- Built in Bipod: Designed to be used in a prone position, the Boar is designed with a mounted bipod in mind. While it's designed to be primarily mounted to vehicles, the Boar is fully capable of being taken on the go.
- Thumper: The Boar has a distinctive sound to it, a rhythm in the fire rate that keeps it's presence well known to the men on the ground. It seems to raise morale quite a bit when it's in constant fire.
- Hits like a Charging Boar: The Boar was designed with the same philosophy as it's older brother, the Claw. The blaster bolts coming out of it were originally tailored for anti-material blasters, and thus the Boar hits like nothing else. On top of that, anything the bolts can't pierce, causes them to explode.
- A Grunt's Dream: The Boar is almost hilariously easy to maintain. Using as few moving parts as it could, the Boar's creator Rara went on record saying "I made it from the perspective of an idiot. If an idiot could fix it, so could a grunt.". Every piece of the weapon is made of parts readily available to a GADF grunt, and you could probably rebuilt the entire gun from other weapons within the GADF arsenal.
- Ease of Transport: To combat the massive heft of the weapon, the Boar was designed to split into three parts. The bipod, the barrel, and the receiver. Each piece is easily reassembled, and able to give the boys on the ground a way to transport it without breaking their backs.
- Air or Water?: While the Boar is traditionally an air cooled barrel, the Boar does come with an optional water jacket for vehicle or fixed position variants.
- Kicks Like a Mule: Given the amount of firepower, it's no wonder the Boar has a heck of a lot of recoil to it. While this can be negated with a vehicle mount, it does cause sustained accurate fire on foot to be practically impossible.
- Walking Fire? What's That?: The Boar, first and foremost, is a weapon fired from a prone or mounted position. The weapon is weighs in at 25 pounds, and trying to fire it while on the move will only lead to user injury.
- Slow Boy: Not as fast as other high end blaster cannons, the Boar's designer chose a more sustainable, still relatively high fire rate that allows for barrages of fire, rather than hails of bolts.
Taking the lessons learned from the Claw, Rara put herself to work designing the GADF a new blaster cannon for both vehicle mounts, and ground assault. Taking inspiration from the rebel blaster cannons of old, Rara pinned the design as yet another tool in the box for GADF forces to fight against the Enclave's super commandos.
