GENERAL INFORMATION
Darth Malum was one of the Sith Empire's most formidable rising Lords, a scion of the ancient House Marr whose ambitions extended far beyond personal glory. Revering the legacy of his ancestor, Darth Marr, he sought not merely to preserve the past, but to surpass it by forging an Empire capable of enduring for generations, that would finally conquer, nay liberate, the entire galaxy. An apprentice to Darth Ophidia, who once had been of the highest ranks of the Order, it was he and his co-apprentice that would slay her.
And eventually, he would turn on him, too. Following his decisive victory over Darth Strosius, Darth Malum assumed command of the Imperial Inquisition and united it with the Tsis'Kaar, placing much of the Empire's intelligence and internal security beneath his authority. Through spies, assassins, and loyal agents, his influence reached into every corner of Sith society.
Then, he vanished.
Lost within the enigmatic World Between Worlds, Darth Malum disappeared from the galaxy, and without his leadership, the Tsis'Kaar fractured. Its networks were dismantled, its influence diminished, and much of the power he had painstakingly built was erased.
Now, Darth Malum has returned.
What transpired beyond time remains known only to him. His purpose is a mystery, his designs concealed behind silence and shadow. Yet one truth is beyond dispute: those who profited from his absence, betrayed his vision, or sought to bury his legacy will soon learn that while time may have claimed Darth Malum.
It did not break him.

HISTORY
Born in Jutrand to the House of Marr, Malum was raised with one singular idea: that he was the heir of Darth Marr, Dark Lord of the Sith, of the Old Sith Empire. The proof of this would come from a diary held as sacred to the family, reportedly written by Darth Marr himself, regarding his children, alongside his mask, a mask darkened by Emperor Valkorian's lightning, yet his mask nonetheless.
Yet though the family was utterly confident of their descent from Marr, such was not the belief across the Sith Empire and Order, indeed, the whole family had found itself in different places across the various rises and falls of the Sith. Sometimes, their belief was deemed correct, and they placed high among the Sith aristocracy; other times, they were deemed as paupers, laughed at, and ridiculed. At the height of Carnifex's Empire, this was the case. The family did have friends in high places, however, and was never far from wealth; thus, though their home was in Jutrand, in the far-off rims of the Empire, they had periodic visits and stays in Dromund Kaas and Bastion to watch the waves of Sith politics, and see if it could be exploited, as it always had been.
During this period of invisibility, Malum would show his first signs of force sensitivity, a sigh of relief going through his family, they were proud of their lineage after all, and it would do no good for the heir to be unable to hone the force as their forefather had, it was an unsaid secret what cruel fate awaited him if he had failed in this step, a similar fate to those of his unspoken uncles and cousins. He had avoided their fates, and thus began his training in the Dark Arts. By his teens had become a novice duelist and force user, through cruelty and discipline. An anecdote of this time he regularly recalls is his being forced to become ambidextrous, by his right arm being bound for over a year. Yet, he does not blame his family, for, by the end, he could draw two lightsabers, whereas most could only draw one.
It was during this time that the Empire began collapsing to the New Imperial Order, and with defeat after defeat inflicted, the House of Marr fled to their home of Jotrund, to see what would occur next.
What was unexpected, however, was for the entire Sith Order to make its way here, and to make Jotrund its capital as the Empire fell apart entirely.
Thus, for the first time in living memory, for House Marr, their invisibility was broken. They were not any more prominent than before, yet now they were visible, and eyes fell upon the young Malum.
Malum, however, was oblivious to this, to politics in general, really, as for him, an idea had been unveiled to him that soon took all his focus. His family was derided for their claims, primarily for a lack of proof of their lineage. People would claim that the diary of Darth Marr was forged and that the mask was a fake, so what proof could be undeniable? His mind centred on two items, a Holocron of the Dark Lord, and his lightsaber. He had heard rumours that the former existed, and the latter had to exist. If he could find both, in his mind, his family would definitely be placed among the heights of the Sith. Thus, unbeknownst to his family, he made a play, taking his Caedus-class Superiority Fighter, one that he had affectionately named Lachris, after Darth Lachris, the apprentice of Darth Marr, and he made his way to Korriban.
This was to prove greatly influential on the young Sith acolyte, for the first time to see space outside of Sith space, and outside of his family's purview. He interacted with many during the trip for over a year, from the lowliest of civilians to the greatest of self-proclaimed nobles. The fact that they were so much like his own family at times greatly concerned him. Yet, finally, he would make it to Korriban, only to find it infected by Light zealots. He would remain undetected, yet, in doing so, would make little progress on attempting to find any artefacts; what he did find, however, would point him towards Dromund Kaas and Zakuul. However, even without the knowledge from those artefacts, it would teach him an arguably greater lesson, fear, for it dawned upon him how weak he was, that his arrogance would be no shield in the face of those who knew nothing more than his kind's destruction.
He fled back to Jutrand, as his family had done when the Empire was crumbling. Returning to a family who was relieved and rageful in equal measure. He had honed his skills greatly during this time, yet it was not enough; thus, as punishment for his flight, though to him, he would remark secretly that it was what he intended, he was sent to the Palace of Silver Rain on the planet of Saijo, the academy for Sith Acolytes and Apprentices. He was to find a master, to graduate as a Sith Knight, be the heir of Darth Marr, and to become a Master. He accepted these goals, yet he was to make them bend with his own, for to be heir to Darth Marr, he would need his weapon and his words; thus, he left for Saijo, and to what awaits.
Much has occured since. Loves had and loves lost. Victories gained, and defeats inflicted. Yet, the time to chronicle them... has not yet come.

APPEARANCE
Darth Malum possesses the unmistakable bearing of old Sith nobility. Tall and lean, his frame is built more for speed and precision than brute strength, carrying himself with an almost unnerving composure, whether standing before a court or upon a battlefield.
His features are striking: pale skin, high cheekbones, a strong jaw and finely cut features framed by long, raven-black hair falling loosely beyond his shoulders. Most distinctive are his eyes, stained a brilliant crimson, ruby-like, a legacy of Darth Marr. Malum's gaze is cold, measured and intensely observant, giving the uncomfortable impression that those before him are being studied rather than merely seen.
He commonly dresses in fitted black battle armour, its segmented plates traced with restrained crimson ornamentation and gemstones. Dark robes and a sweeping cloak complete the ensemble, giving him the silhouette of both warrior and aristocrat. A small blue crystal pendant occasionally rests against his breast, conspicuous against the darkness surrounding it.
There is something deceptively youthful about Malum's face. Yet whatever softness remains is contradicted by his bearing: controlled, predatory and quietly imperious—a prince fashioned into a weapon, beautiful enough to invite attention and dangerous enough to punish it.

PERSONALITY
Darth Malum is a creature of contradictions: ambitious yet dutiful, ruthless yet rarely cruel without purpose, proud of his blood yet perpetually terrified that he might prove unworthy of it.
Where many Sith surrender themselves to passion, Malum seeks to master his. He is patient, calculating and intensely observant, preferring secrets, alliances and carefully laid designs to displays of naked strength. Yet beneath that discipline burns a formidable temper. Threaten those he considers his own, wound his pride, or invoke the failures he cannot forgive, and calculation can give way to terrible vengeance.
Legacy governs him. The shadow of Darth Marr follows every triumph, driving Malum toward an impossible standard: not merely to equal his ancestor, but surpass him. From this obsession springs both his greatest strength and deepest insecurity.
Curiously for a Sith, Malum possesses an enduring capacity for loyalty and affection. Family, friends, apprentices and those who earn his trust may find in him a fiercely protective ally. Betray that trust, however, and affection becomes hatred with frightening ease.
Malum does not desire power simply to possess it. He believes power must serve something greater: the survival, renewal and ultimate triumph of the Sith.
Whether that conviction makes him their saviour or merely another tyrant remains unanswered.
STRENGTHS & WEAKNESSES
Strengths:
Skilled Duelist - Having been trained since childhood, Malum is proficient and skilled in the use of lightsaber combat, wielding twin lightsabers, and using the Jar'kai form.
Skilled Force User - Having a natural affinity for the Force, Malum can bend and twist it to his needs with skill and proficiency.
Scholar - With a deep appreciation for the past and all that it could hold for him and his family, Malum has grown with the mindset of a researcher and historian, taking great care for the respect of everything before him.
Weaknesses:
Obsessive - Tied in with his scholarly instincts, is his obsession with the past, specifically with items from the Old Sith Empire, of particular note, items of his forefather, Darth Marr. These items hold the key to bringing himself to the forefront of the Sith Order, to bring his family from the lows of ignorance to the height of power. Thus, nothing fuels him more than the goal to find these treasures.
Imperious - As the scion of Darth Marr, Malum holds within himself a special type of arrogance and domineering, raised as a prince of sorts, the academy has done much to humble him, to put upon a mask of humility, but in times of emotion, the imperiousness of his birth and nature reveal themselves.
Naive - As a consequence of his nurture, he is naive to most of the galaxy, only regularly interacting with his family and peers, he has never been outside of the Order's capital of Jutrand, apart from flashes of memories during the Fall of the Empire when his family had made trips to Dromund Kaas and Bastion, and in the recent days, his secret trip to Korriban, to attempt to discover Sith artifacts.

LIGHTSABER COMBAT
Darth Malum is an accomplished and exceptionally dangerous swordsman, favouring Makashi, Jar'Kai and the fluid interplay of paired blades. His swordsmanship is neither overwhelmingly aggressive nor rigidly defensive; it is adaptive, patient, and calculated, built upon reading an opponent before systematically dismantling them.
Malum fights with an almost aristocratic precision. Every parry seeks to create an opening, every retreat invites pursuit, and every attack serves those who follow. He is comfortable changing tempo without warning—yielding ground before suddenly exploding forward, transitioning between elegant bladework, acrobatics, physical strikes, and applications of the Force.
His greatest strength is versatility. Malum has studied numerous lightsaber disciplines and readily borrows from them rather than binding himself to any single orthodoxy. Against superior strength, he becomes elusive; against speed, he becomes defensive; against caution, he becomes relentless. Jar'Kai allows him to pressure from unconventional angles, trap opposing weapons, and overwhelm an enemy's concentration through simultaneous threats.
Yet Malum is not invincible. His confidence can become arrogance, and emotionally charged encounters may compromise his otherwise disciplined technique.
At his best, fighting Malum is less a duel than a game of dejarik conducted at lethal speed—and his opponent rarely realises they have been manoeuvred into checkmate until the blade falls.
