In ancient times the First Sith Empire had relied on war beasts of varying shapes and sizes to support their armies on the battlefield against the Old Galactic Republic and their Jedi Protectors, with them most being utilized in the Great Hyperspace War under the direction of the Dark Lord of the Sith, Naga Shadow. These sluggish animals could not compete with emergent technology such as repulsor lifts and heavier blaster rifles, causing them to disappear from direct warfare ever since. Although in modern times the knowledge of creating war animals did not diminish over the centuries as many sith lords of varying power and influence created their own breed of sithspawn to attack their foes, or challenge a rival in direct combat through a Kaggath, even using them against the Legendary Knights of the Jedi Order and their variants such as the New Jedi Order.

The Mandalorian-Alliance War during the Current Era of 900 ABY, presented a golden opportunity for the growing Sith Dominion as their ancient foes became distracted by the ever-growing crusade that stretches to engulf the galaxy in another Great Hyperspace War. Save for a few small skirmishes and planetary occupations, the sith had thrived and rebuilt their strength. Itching to engulf the entire galaxy in the dark side of the force and ultimately capture Coruscant once again to rule unchallenged like the preceding empires before them. The War had allowed the Sith to expand closer than ever to the fringe territories of the Alliance, even as they use their fleets and armies to capture more worlds to feed the fires of the Starbird Alliance.

On the world of Yinchorr, site of the Infamous Yinchorr Crisis between the Alliance and the New Imperial Order. A Hidden Fortress was constructed using resources obtained from generous donations and mysterious line of credit, a breeding ground for the sith to experiment in bringing back war beasts for the front lines. Lord Blepharon of the Sith-Imperial Banking Clan has arrived on the world to expand the army of beasts captured deep within the Formidable Hold and unleash them on the Alliance's unsuspected rear territories.

"These ancient sithspawn were once formidable on the battlefield but have since become obsolete due to emergent technological advancements. But if the dark side can be utilized sufficiently, we may regain a formidable asset against the Jedi Knights." The voice of the givin sith lord was hallow in tone, speaking almost hushed as to not allow anyone to snoop in on the conversation. Glancing around the holding pens deep within the fortress interior.

Within these pens held a variety of species brought in such as Silooth, Sith War Behemoths, Sith Warbirds and Sith Wyrm

Such Foul Plans have not gone unnoticed by the Champions of Good for the Force acts in mysterious ways.

"It is not just technology that has rendered many of these creatures obsolete. The Light. The Jedi of this age are quite skilled at using this obnoxious ability that burns anything created through Alchemy." Curiosity had brought him here, and now genuine interest kept him. Who would not be interested in the fate of the Sithspawn that had become something of an easy target as of late? Even the Sithspawn that had been unleashed on Coruscant were all but dealt with by the hand of the Jedi once the war with the Maw had ended.

"Do you have something to handle that, Lord Blepharon?"

"The new generation of the Jedi Order certainly have the ability and combat experience to handle any sithspawn we send against them. Summoning the power of the light side much like any force power, it requires concentration, and that is where we can improve our beasts." The Givin Sith Lord explained glancing from hollow sunken eye sockets towards the Defel who had joined him from the shadows. The Jedi and Sith were both merely apart of the great game of an uncaring deity in the Force, infusing them both with power and influence but acting as a counterbalance to their hidden ambitions. When the Light Side was strongest like during the High Republic, the Sith of the Banite Order had waited in the shadows growing their power without limit, eventually achieving the overthrow of the Jedi Knights and the Republic to form the Galactic Empire. Such empire fell by the hands of a light side user in the legendary name of Luke Skywalker and the process repeated time and time again.

Glancing down towards the holding pens as the beasts smashed against their restraints, they had survived millennia untouched by the powers of the light. If they could be improved by either technological means or biological means then they could stand a formidable chance and allow the Sith Empire to finally regain the Galactic Capital while the Alliance was distracted with the New Mandalorian Crusade. Skeletal hand reached into the flowing cloak of hate, withdrawing an object from within to show the Defel Sith.

"This is a Hard Sound Gun mostly used by bounty hunters and mercenaries when they face jedi, but mostly forgotten as a weapon. If we can harness the sonic weaponry and implant them into the war beasts then the jedi knights have lost their major advantage on the battlefield." Holding the weapon within one hand and while using the other to explain that sonic weaponry was an extremely effective method of dealing with force users and force adepts, if they can implant such technology into the war beasts than the Jedi Knights would be unable to oppose them directly.

Such wishful thinking was beneath the Sith Order and the implantation process was unlikely to be successful without further testing. Experimentation of this nature required delicacy and experience, one which the lower caste of the hierarchy had never attempted despite wanting power above all else. Science after all was the observation and experimentation of natural phenomenon's.

Something to disrupt concentration. It was how he fought, of course. Illusion and fear to keep a Jedi unbalanced. An unbalanced Jedi was a dead Jedi, after all. Sonic was a good of a choice as any. Perhaps the best choice, in all reality. Sonic wasn't something they could just ignore or overcome. He nodded once with a smile.

"I like that idea. Screeching monsters will certainly overwhelm the lesser Jedi, and even a Master can fall if they can't keep their head clear."

"You seem to take an interest in such an idea, though the path ahead of the Sith Order will not be an easy one if this plan should succeed. The mere implementation of mechanical or biological components into an already existing DNA Structure is tortuously difficult to achieve even for the most potent of force users. There are a number of things that could go wrong, even ending up inside the maw of said creature." The Givin Sith Lord did agree with the Defel Sith to some extent, screaming monsters and other creatures could overwhelm the lesser jedi amongst their order such as padawans and jedi knights, even such skilled warriors as the Jedi Masters if they were unprepared. The Dark Side of the Force could do many things such as summon lightning from one's fingertips and wield potent magics of various calibers and strengths, but the one area that it suffered most was in attempting to make new sithspawn behave exactly as you wanted them. Many a sith had been eaten by their own sithspawn during their experimentation and a horde of monsters was the last thing that the Sith Order needed right now.

Moving down the stairs towards the bottom rung of the holding pens, just close enough to touch some of the sithspawn beasts who chomped and pinched. Clawing to fight their way out of the restraints and bite them in two. If they had the necessary sentience to use the force, they could prove formidable warriors given the chance but all that rage and animal instincts meant they were merely tools to be used in warfare, nothing more or less. A sad existence and a fate worse than death in some more acute opinions. Glancing away from the beasts for a time, as an attendant came rushing down the stairs.

'My Lord, We have detected some intruders on the 3rd Level.' came the voice, barely above a whisper and certainly not delivering good news. An intruder would no doubt expose the existence of the Hidden Fortress to the New Jedi Order and the Galactic Alliance, creating a delicate problem for the beast experimentation program.

"It would seem we have some unwanted interference, secrecy will be key to our operations here." The Givin explained to the Defel Sith.

"We're too close to Alliance territory for it to not be them."

Ansisa materialised at Vazz's elbow, dropping her invisibility. She'd not been eaves dropping, simply occupying herself by training. As beautiful and fascinating the sithspawn were, they were of little interest to the acolyte. It was something Firrerreo Firrerreo may have enjoyed, maybe she'd rub his nose in it a another time. But mostly, she was bored.

The prospect of intruders filled her with delight and she rolled onto the balls of her feet and back down to her heels. Looking at Vazz Vazz waiting for the word to go and investigate.

Vazz turned his gaze down towards the Acolyte that appeared beside him and nodded once, with an ever faint smile on his face. She was right that it would likely be the Alliance. But that wasn't the only option for opponents. "Go and find them, Acolyte. Don't leave any alive." Go be a distraction for me, was the technical order. Vazz himself would hunt, but it was often easier to hunt prey stalked by a hound to keep their attention. He smiled wide, looking to Lord Blepharon.

"Why don't we use this as a test for the Sithspawn as well? See which is the most efficient hunter to be worked on and enhanced first."

Lore Of The Beasts

A glance from sunken eye sockets looked over at the new arrival amongst them in the form of Ansisa Ansisa , chiss in origin presumedly with considerable potential in the force if they had a reputable teacher. They made a valid assessment of the situation as the Galactic Alliance was the only superpower nearby that had the resources to spare despite being engaged with the Warriors of the Mandalorian Enclave across a dozen battlefields. If the monster experimentation program was discovered by the intruders it would no doubt cause the New Jedi Order to send a strike team or an invasion force against the hidden fortress, which would put the research behind by a couple of decades if not more as each individual beast was captured and transported through dozens of third party channels.

"A valuable suggestion, but these beasts are quite rare to capture and even rarer to transport safely. We can't afford to lose them by sending them needlessly into battle against a foe we know nothing about. Intelligence gathering is key to any military operation or defensive plan." The Givin Sith Lord explained; taking the suggestion into account but wanting to strengthen their intelligence regarding the foe first before they did anything rash that could result in them losing a monster. A swift motion brought him to the stairs up from the monster pens, as the other two sith made their own plan of attack. The security feeds would no doubt show the intruders advancing on them quite swiftly despite the layout of the fortress interior.

Tapping on the terminal to bring up a holorecording, as it showed several teams of Galactic Alliance Army Troopers moving through the corridors, accompanied by Yinchorri Freedom Fighters.Small skirmishes would break out on the 3rd level as the teams fought against the mechanized droids of the Givin. These were no doubt just the first wave of invaders.

Ansisa had moved, the moment Vazz had nodded his words following her as she vanished once more, clanging the bars of a sithspawns cage as she went past drawing a angry snarl from it. A small giggle escaped her and then she was silent. A perfect predator, or at least she was aspiring to be. Her master would outshine her, in fact she knew full well that he was using her as bait. She didn't mind, so long as she got her fair share of the kill.

She took the stairs two at a time with a burst of force speed at her back. It didn't take her long to get back to the third floor, not to find one of the firefights with the droids. Ansisa moved seamlessly through it, allowing blaster bolts to pass her, pushing behind the infiltrators lines until she was in their midst.

Snap-hiss

Her lightsaber. or rather the lightsaber she'd stolen. hummed to life as Ansisa unveiled herself in the force. There was a beat, a fraction of a second where the soldiers faces were etched with surprise and then it shifted to fear as Ansisa had moved to decapitate three of them before they could react. blasters shifted in her direction, but she had already disappeared again, leaving nothing but a ghostly echoing laugh where she'd been.

"Oh, that's why I sent her ahead."

Vazz smiled the same fake smile he always did as he watched his acolyte fade away to charge forward. She loved the hunt, possibly more than he did. It was a convenient way to lure out their foes at the end of the day. And, he could send one of his dopplers after her to assist where needed anyway. And keep him informed of what might happen.

"There is, ultimately, no better test than a live fire test. If there is one beast that rules above the rest, wouldn't it be easier to focus on just capturing the one rather than so many different types?"

Lord Blepharon Lord Blepharon | Ansisa Ansisa

"Ah little Ansisa Ansisa , always so angry," Malum noted, stepping out from the darkness, nodding to both Lord Blepharon Lord Blepharon and Lord Vazz Vazz as he watched the Chiss disappear from sight, onwards to face her destiny.

"I suppose congratulations are in order, Lord Vazz, I had heard from one of my little birds that you had taken the young Chissling as your apprentice, but could not confirm it for myself, she will do well under your tutelage no doubt," He smirked, turning to face the Defel, "If she is willing to listen, that is." She was headstrong and stubborn, helpful straits for a battering ram, certainly, but it took much more than the Force abilities to become an assassin, it took a mindset, a willingness and patience, and from their meeting on Alvaria, he was far from certain the Chiss girl had what it took.

No matter, such could be taught, after all, who would have thought a noble scion of Darth Marr could be taught such things?

His eye turned towards the representative of the Sith-Imperial Banking Clan, "As for you Lord Blepharon, I hope you will pardon my impromptu presence, I had desired to warn you of an Alliance presence here... though it seems that is to be well taken care of," He hoped, anyway, despite believing Ansisa was both too headstrong and too stubborn, he did not wish for harm to befall the girl, he conveyed as much on his features, hiding the lie in his words, he had not come to warn them at all, but it provided convenient enough excuse.

After all, though he was only a novice in the matters of Sith alchemy, he was more than willing to learn, from any and all sources, to gather that knowledge was one of the core precepts of the Tsis'Kaar after all, "I had also wished to speak to you of matters of shared business, but that can be reserved for later no doubt," Baron Dystraay Bovark II had recommended such a course after all, still as he revealed an unignited lightsabre from within his robes, "But for now... perhaps we might move to assist the acolyte?"

If he could distract either of these men, it might allow him to get a better look at these creatures.

Lore Of The Beasts

The security recording continued to play as Ansisa Ansisa vanished from view once the assault order was given from Lord Vazz Vazz , the potent afterburn of blaster fire, along with the screams of the recently deceased would fill the corridor of level 3 as the Galactic Alliance Army Troopers and the Yinchorri Freedom Fighters fought a desperate campaign to break through and establish a forward command post for further assaults into the fortress interior, in a vain attempt to stop the Sith Experimentation Program before its genetically altered beasts could be unleashed against the mostly undefended Frontier Worlds of the Galactic Alliance. The Defel Sith rebuked the comment about the potential loss of the monsters during the skirmish by pointing out that live fire testing was another avenue of observation. They were right to some extent, finding out which sithspawn was superior to the others would prove advantageous to the research going ahead.

"A single monster is a predictable variability on the battlefield, once encountered by the New Jedi Order and the Galactic Alliance. They will suffer losses naturally but the research gained by their defeat would prove disadvantageous to us. Naturally they will develop counter-measures against the beast, proving the entire research point moot." The Givin Sith Lord explained rather scientifically, predictability on the battlefield was the enemy of all campaigns. The enemy specifically during wartime could launch new science divisions and engineering corps aimed at disrupting the Sith's New Advantage, which is why having multiple beasts lowered their research rate on counter-measures giving the sith more time to improve the beasts and launch further campaigns.

The presence of Darth Malum of House Marr Darth Malum of House Marr had not gone unnoticed, who had arrived late to inform them of the Galactic Alliance's advance but as one could clearly see the battle was already erupting. A light bit of conversation did improve the mood, with the mention of the Chiss Acolyte under the care of the Defel Lord. A wild weapon such as herself did not have the refinement to be a proper sith, not by ancient traditionalist methods. The real reason for dropping into the fortress was then made clear to the Givin, merely a business transaction from the likes of the Magistrate of the Mining Guild.

A quick hand brought the simple gold lightsaber into awaiting palm, although pointing it at Darth Malum of House Marr Darth Malum of House Marr instead of at the enemy.

"Do you believe you can be entirely trusted coming from Tsis'Kaar Circles. I will protect my research center personally..."

There was no way that the Givin would allow a member of the Tsis'Kaar to stay behind and sabotage his ongoing research.

The soft hum of lightsabers could be heard as a Strike Team from the New Jedi Order made their appearance down the corridors on Level 3.

Ansisa was playing with her food, drinking in the fear she was eliciting from the GA soldiers. Again and again she would vanish catching them in their own friendly fire, only to pop up elsewhere and dispatch more of them, her glee echoing after them. Her distraction techniques were giving the droids the advantage they needed.

Btu then she sensed them, sickly sweet and bathed in the light of the force. Ansisa stopped playing, retreating behind the droid line to reassess the incoming threat as sabers of blue green and white came to life further down the corridor.

"Master Vazz Vazz ," she said coolly through their comms. "As much as I relish a good hunt, I would appreciate it, if you and the beastmaster stopped debating the use of his disgusting pets. The Jedi are here."

As a group, she would not be able to fight them. She would need to separate them to have any chance. Snagging a grenade from the body of a GA soldier, Ansisa held her breath, hidden and waiting for the Jedi to move closed, pulling the pin she darted between them, dropping it, before putting on a burst of speed to get clear.

There was a brief shout of warning, before the explosion. The Jedi scattered.

"Fear is an excellent motivator, you know."

Vazz cast a glance towards Malum before smiling wider. It was a tool like any other, and a proper application of it could make even the most egotistical soul willing to listen. Ansisa hadn't lost her edge, either. But for him to be the one to fight.. He let out a sigh. He didn't want to show these people his own way of battling. Especially not with the hard calculator like Lord Blepharon here.

"Well, so far you have my acolyte being the one to fight. I don't remember working for you, Lord Blepharon."

He smiled his fake smile. At least the man had given him a convenient out.

"Why don't you pull back for now, Acolyte? Our dear lord here has a point to prove."

"The last time I met our little Ansisa Ansisa here, she was shouting down her peers for having the gall to retreat. Have you learned differently since then, little one?" Malum spoke louder in a voice that was entirely mocking, loud enough to be caught by the ears of the Chiss woman, and filled with the twinge of a chuckle that spoke entirely of the derisiveness he felt.

She should retreat, she had been told to, and she was facing odds more steep than she could handle.

Yet it was pride that doth the fall, would she so willingly show her back to her enemy?

Would she so willingly return to them after failing to eliminate her query?

Would she prioritise her own survival, over her ego?

He was unsure, and he was entirely too curious to know.

Unfortunately, he could not entirely focus on his little pet project, which... was not entirely his pet project.

He lifted his hands, with a smirk upon his face, in mock surrender, his lightsabre still not ignited, as he watched the one pointed towards him with caution, "I believe so, personally, whatever past transgressions I or the Tsis'Kaar may or may not have committed, we serve the Sith, and as it stands, I only see Sith gathered here, while I see Jedi gathered over there, my enemy is clear." None of what he said was false, even if he did omit his true purpose, unfortunately, that purpose may have had to go to the backburner, for it was clear that Lord Blepharon Lord Blepharon distrusted him already.

Good, most should.

"But I would not wish to obstruct the host in his hospitality, I will submit to whatever you desire of me," Eyes drifted back to the Defel, Vazz Vazz , he had also taken to the backfoot. Unfortunate, he was curious how the man would fight, after all knowing the man used illusions, was only a taste.

Lore Of The Beasts

The appearance of a New Jedi Order Strike Team moving through the corridors brought new variables into the picture and increased the overall odds that the Hidden Fortress would be compromised beyond all attempts to salvage the situation. The blunt instrument that was Ansisa Ansisa had disrupted the defensive line established by the Jedi Knights by dropping a thermal detonator in their midst causing them to regain their bearings slowly as they took in the situation fully now.

The Mechanized Forces of the Sith-Imperial Banking Clan had stalled the advance of the Yinchorri Resistance and the Defense Troopers with the chiss's onslaught but it would not be enough to prevent them from heading deeper into the research center. A million calculations went through the mind of the Givin as each scenario was weighted against one another and each outcome predicted down to a single misstep, if the Research Center was destroyed then the experimentation program would be finished entirely. But if the research center was not destroyed but merely damaged, it would set them back even further. And then there was the possibility of betrayal from one of the sith in the room.

In this event it made clear for Vazz Vazz to call his apprentice back from the fighting as two against one would be an even fight against a lord of his own caliber. He had unintentionally given the Defel a clear excuse for not bloodying his own hand, leaving it to the Sith Banker to figure out the defensive operations moving forward. Darth Malum of House Marr Darth Malum of House Marr was the third variable to consider, perhaps an assassin sent from the Tsis'Kaar to eliminate anyone of independent views like himself before they could align with the Eternals or Kainites. When it came to the Sith Order trust was few and far between, so a careful glance was given between them from sunken eye sockets.

He had to put a stop to the Jedi Advance even if it costed him prestige from the other lords of the Sith, though it was clear that the Defel was trying to gouge his own abilities personally.

"If a single millimeter of my research is disturbed, you all will answer for it. I will halt their advance for as long as possible."

A threat...maybe but one that he could deliver on if necessary, having connections across the galaxy ranging from the Trade Federation of Planets to the Resurgent Hutt Cartels. Igniting the ornate lightsaber within boney skeleton hand, as it roared into existence. Light shining against the walls of the corridor as the Givin made a slow but steady advance towards the Jedi Knights.

One of them tried to rush him by swinging their blade, although the move was anticipated by the Givin who simply deflected the blow with a swift motion. His skills with a lightsaber could be observed to be simple but refined, not overdoing it or using flashy force powers in an attempt to win the engagement. The blades clashed back and forth until the Jedi Knight had overswung in the tight corridor; allowing him to slice him across the chest.

Ansisa had no idea what was going on, but when Vazz gave the call to return she did, however reluctantly leaving the battle behind her in a burst of force speed, she returned eyebrow cocked at the scene before her. What in the netherworld was going on? She rematerialized as Blepharon moved away to engage, shooting Malum a cold glare.

She had heard him and his teasing, he could try and get in her head if she liked, but Vazz was her master and she was not so foolish as to disobey him.

"I was having fun." she turned her attention back to the defel, and cocked her head "What political chit are we playing at now? And when did he get here?" she jerked her head towards Malum.

"Lord Blepharon wanted to handle this personally. As his guests, it's only right we defer to him on the defenses of his facility, no?" Vazz smiled his ever fake smile as he looked towards Ansisa. He wouldn't explain any more than he'd already done. She'd learn or she'd stay arrogant and find herself near death once more, he was indifferent on that.

"As for the Heir, I imagine he's just as curious. It was an open invitation to come here, after all."
