OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
GENERAL INFORMATION

  • Unit Name: The Marr Household Guard
  • Affiliation: House Marr, specifically Lord Alexandros Marr, but too his heir, Malum Marr.
  • Classification: Multipurpose, but specifically Infantry and Black Ops.
  • Description: Formed as an homage to the Reconstituted Sith Empire, the Marr Household Guard is armoured in such a way as to evoke the imagery of the soldiers of that empire. Such is the case that they wear distinctive triangular helmets and are garbed in black and grey armour. Formed from a core of soldiery reportedly a millennia ago, who were loyal to Darth Marr, the Household Guard has pledged to serve the House of Marr since time immemorial, with the current iteration of the Guard being made up of descendants of the initial guard, particularly worthy warriors and mercenaries, and distant cousins of the House of Marr. The Household Guard is thus made up of both Force Users and Non-Force Users, though the ratio is close to one-to-ten, still leading it to be a rather multipurpose force. One of the differences between the Guard and the Sith Empire's soldiers is that where the Imperial crest is, there is instead the Marr mask, a show of their loyalty to the House of Marr before the Sith Order. Individuals within the Guard have a mixed mindset and behaviour, some are rather stoic, silent and always on job, others are more casual, especially those part of the family. Indeed those within the distant family usually view themselves as superior to others within the Guard, a source of friction.

  • Combat Function: The Marr Household Guard's primary purpose is the defense of the members of the House of Marr, thus it is no wonder that one of their fundamental expertise lies in defensive warfare, and considering the Marr family resides on Jutrand, urban warfare has become its key focus. Acting as both infantry and special forces, the Guard is able to both defend a location, coordinating the construction of physical emplacements, and cause heavy casualties in enemy assaults, but so are they able to fight an urban guerilla war, striking at the rear of the enemy, and splitting up into core pockets which can strike at the enemy as they advance into urban environments.

However, their defensive focus does not preclude them from offensive actions, especially as detachments have been sent abroad to take part in various assault and special operations, most recently under the command of Malum. With armour capability, the Guard is able to take part in offensive actions, with such capability alongside their proficiency able to cause large amounts of enemy casualties in comparison to themselves. However, their mainstay offensive capability stems from their special operations abilities, with Malum's own ventures into the realm of Tsis'Kaar assassinations, leading to the Guard's own participation within them, capable of both terrorist actions, assassination, and insurgency behind enemy lines, leaving little trace of their presence.

Finally, the Guard is capable of taking to the skies, but in a rather limited capability, and more with certain individuals within the Guard who pilot a limited amount of vessels.

Overall the Guard functions in a very independent manner from the rest of the Sith forces, acting both as their own private militia and their own support network.

Strengths:

  • Blood Loyalty: The Guard serves Malum and House Marr with unquestioning loyalty. They are not likely to rout under pressure.
  • Versatile Taskforce: With such skill and equipment, the Guard is able to function in many different roles, and split into smaller subunits to do any number of tasks.
Weaknesses:

  • Limited Siege Capability: With such an infantry and special forces focuses, alongside being a relatively small unit, the Guard has very limited to no siege capability, and this is almost useless in this regard, either being forced to rely on the wider Order, or being forced to ignore fortified strongholds entirely.
  • Spread Thin: The Guard is depended upon to defend all members of House Marr, thus split among various worlds to do so, the largest contingents being the ones on Jutrand and following Malum, but there are other smaller contingents such as on Eliad. This forces their actions to be extremely cautious, with contingents always facing manpower problems, alongside causing extreme caution in any risky operations.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION

Formed if texts are to be believed under Darth Marr himself, the Marr Household Guard was to be a private force loyal only to Darth Marr and his kin, if that was the basis of success, it was a resounding one.

For the next millennia, the Guard would go on to protect members of the House of Marr from countless threats, and throughout the years, the Guard would grow larger and larger, built up by the descendants of the original guardsmen, from handpicked warriors and mercenaries enticed with the promise of glory, honour and credits, and even members of the House of Marr, who would go on to rank highly, and simply desired to protect their own.

By the current age, the Guard had built up a glowing reputation for competency and skill, having fought during the Fall of the Sith Order, covering the escape of the Marrs from Bastion and Dromund Kaas, to return to Jutrand, wherein they would take part in the purge of the Jedi enclave there.

Since then, the Guard has continued to hone its skill, playing a limited part in the new age of Sith conquests, but primarily continuing their singular purpose, of defending House Marr.

Yet what are they to do, when the heir to Darth Marr is fighting on the frontlines and participating in assassinations? They would protect him nonetheless, which was how Malum found himself with his own elite force under his command, one which could do whatever was needed to further his own goals, and most importantly for them, keep him safe.
