ADVANCED SYSTEMS
STRENGTHS
  • All Most Guns Blazing: The ship's 'Morut' Modular Turret System turrets allow guns to elevate and depress to fire over or under one another, allowing the ship to bring a greater number of guns to bear than would be usually possible. As an added bonus, the Morut is a fast-tracking turret system.
  • Bristling: The Darasuum Morut is absolutely bristling with heavy, deadly weapon systems that gives it the capability to punch well above its weight.
  • Tough Nut to Crack: The Darasuum Morut is protected by a quartet of powerful shield generators and has a number of cap drains and combat de-ionizers. The ship's hull frame and plating are made from tough Stesr'gar and feature Agrinium and thermal gel lining. The tough hull is plated in Stesr'gar-Stygian-Triprismatic Polymer composite armor, which has the added benefit of helping lower the ship's sensor signature.
  • Advanced Sensors and Communications: The Darasuum Morut's powerful sensor suite that when combined with its Manda tactical battlenet module gives it advanced tracking and targeting capabilities as well as a notable ability to be able to analyze enemy craft to potentially ascertain any sort of weaknesses that the target might have. Its advanced, encrypted communications systems allow it to stay in contact with friendly forces even in the face of heavy enemy jamming.
  • Advanced Point-defense Suite: The Araniik emplacements on the Darasuum Morut's tracking speed, accuracy, and the devastating weapon systems that it utilizes give the ship considerable ability to counter enemy ordnance, starfighters, sub-capital craft and even small corvettes. Anything that slips past the Araniik emplacements also have to slip past the ship's cluster bomb launchers, which are particularly useful against incoming ordnance.
  • Self-Sufficient: The Darasuum Morut's salvage and repair/support foundry modules as well as it's Ka'ra'vhetin aquaponics modules make the ship almost entirely self-sufficient provided it can salvage the right materials from the battlefield. Regardless, they greatly increase the ship's endurance.
  • Low Sensor Signature: For a ship of its class and tonnage, the Darasuum Morut has a low sensor signature thanks to its low profile engines, electronic warfare suite and the Stesr'gar-Stygian-Triprismatic Polymer composite armor.
  • Escorts Included: The Darasuum Morut typically carries eight HC-03M Kyramud-class Heavy Multi-role Corvettes, granting it additional screening and buying more time fore it to maneuver in the case of an enemy flanking attempt. The corvettes, being connected to the same Manda battlenet can also make use of the Darasuum Morut's more powerful sensors and targeting.
  • Ghost Hunter: The Darasuum Morut features an extremely powerful stealth detection suite that can potentially pick up enemy stealth warships and then share this sensor picture over the Manda tactical battlenet to allow friendly forces to engage said enemy warship.
  • Anti-Force: The Darasuum Morut carries a number of different weapon and utility systems developed by the company to counter force use at the scale of capital ship warfare.
WEAKNESSES
  • 'Fortress' Mode: Only with all power from engines diverted to shields can the Caritr shield generator activate its 'fortress' mode.
  • Friendly Fire: Careful use of the cluster bomb launcher is required so as to not friendly fire friendly starfighters, which can be difficult in particularly chaotic close quarters engagements.
  • Slow, Lumbering, Behemoth: Even with power poured into maneuvering systems and engines, the most the Darasuum Morut can manage is to claw itself to about average maneuverability and slower than average speed for its class and tonnage. The ship was not made to maneuver quickly nor get anywhere in a hurry and this fact would be blatantly obvious to any half competent naval commander who bore witness to maneuvers conducted by the vessel.
  • Prow Hangars: Once the shields are down, as long as the fore blast doors are not engaged, there is the distinct possibility with the right angle enemy ships can direct shots straight into the for corvette or main hangars. Of course with the blast doors engaged, the ship cannot engage in flight operations.
  • Limited Aft Firepower: The lack of significant concentration of weapons that can face rearward is a notable issue for the Darasuum Morut given its lower than average maneuverability.
  • Leaker: Ordnance that slips past the point-defense and gets through the defenses while deploying or retrieving starfighters or the ship's corvette complement can cause catastrophic damage.
  • Specialist Ordnance Expended: Once expended, there are no reserves for the specialist anti-force ordnance and the ship's on-board production facilities typically lack the resources to produce any more. Even if they did, producing any to replenish stocks in any meaningful manner is virtually impossible in battlefield conditions.
DESCRIPTION
"The Morut's more than just the heaviest warship the company's ever produced, she was the first time we acknowledged that one way or another, it was always going to end like this."
- Strill Securities Fleet Admiral Nyles Kote Nyles Kote , shortly after the evacuation of Breshig.

Eternal Haven. The Darasuum Morut was meant to be more than the company's flagship. The ship had been part of the Breshig clans exit strategy if their home ever came under insurmountable attack and a ba'slan shev'la became necessary. Despite that, or perhaps for that reason, the Morut as it is affectionately referred to by company personnel is the singularly most powerful warship produced by the company, designed from the ground up to be able to punch well above its weight and to be able to take a tremendous beating while doing it, more so than design doctrine already demanded that of ships adhering to it.

The Morut's main battery and its hangars are what the rest of the ship was built around. The main batteries on the Morut are a quartet of UAC-01S ultra-heavy spinally mounted accelerator cannons. These cannons can be fired separately or fire-linked to fire in pairs or all at once. In addition to the staggering array of shells that the ship carries for the main battery are twelve Jetii'dral Oya'karur b' Beviin-class sabots, which are designed to give the ship a punch against ships protected by force enhanced armor as well as to act as a debilitating weapon for ships with force powered or force enhanced components and/or have large numbers of force users aboard.

The rest of the ship's armament is no less impressive. A staggering array of heavy and super-heavy weapons are mounted in Morut modular turrets, which are fast-tracking turrets that have the capability to adjust their orientation relative to the ship to be able to fire above, under or around each other completely without the need for any additional effort from the crew. Each turret is aware of the other. This gives the ship the ability to bring considerably more of its considerable firepower to bear on a larger variety of targets than would be traditionally feasible or even possible. More notably, this does also help mitigate the issue of the ship's notably sub-par acceleration and maneuverability.

Entirely unsurprisingly, the Morut is armed with a number of assault-grade modular mass-driver ordnance launchers. These launchers not only give the ship considerable indirect firepower capabilities and precision strike capabilities against both ground and space targets but also further help negate the effect of the ship's acceleration and maneuverability on its combat performance. The Morut also carries on board a number of specialist ordnance to combat enemy stealth warships and to deal with large, capital-ship scale force use, though these weapons cannot be easily replenished once expended.

The ship lives up to its namesake when it comes to durability. Stesr'gar hull frame and plate lined with Agrinium and thermal gel forms the base of the ships defenses, On top, Stesr'gar-Stygian Triprismatic polymer composite armor plate serves to augment the already tough hull and hull plate and also serves to lower the ship's sensor signature. This combined with the ship's low-profile engines and electronic warfare suite give it a low sensor signature of its tonnage and class. A quartet of Caritr shield generators, set to protect the fore, aft, dorsal and ventral hemispheres with overlapping coverage, protect the ship from all manner of damage sources. A highly advanced, accurate, fast-tracking network of Araniik emplacements protect the ship from incoming ordnance, starfighters, sub-capital craft and even some smaller corvettes. For close-in defense the Morut features a cluster bomb launcher network, which like the Araniik is also excellent at dealing with starfighters, sub-capital craft and incoming ordnance.

The Morut carries a balanced complement of fighters, fighter-bombers, droid fighters and super-heavy bombers allowing it to engage a wide variety of threats or support allied vessels in a wide number of scenarios. To both support other vessels' operations and its own operations, the Morut has a complement of decoy, reconnaissance, jamming and point-defense drones, granting a commander more options when conducting a number of operations from deploying fighters to defending against a superior number of enemy fighters or attempting to deal with enemy ordnance. Finally, the Morut's forward corvette deployment bays allow it to carry, maintain and deploy its own escort vessels. These corvettes also help screen the vessel and buy time for commander to reorient the vessel to deal with flanking units.

The Morut can carry 6 battalions and two command companies of Strill Securities shock troops as well as a company of Strill Securities special forces of either variety. Not only is it capable of conveying them but is capable of storing and maintaining their vehicles and facilitating large scale training exercises to allow commanders to run war games en route to a location. The vessel's two on-board factories can not only produce spares but can also produce whole replacement vehicles, starfighter and even gunships given the right materials, which the Morut does not leave port without.

The Morut features a number of systems that have become standard on company warships that greatly increase the vessel's tactical flexibility. The vessels countermeasure system features countermeasure gas rockets which while designed largely for defensive use can be put to good tactical use during offensive actions. Finally, the ship's complement of boarding/drop pods allow it to either deploy marines to disrupt enemy vessels or aid in ground engagements or even deploy ground troops quickly.

The Morut's two salvage and repair/support foundry modules as well as it's three Ka'ra'vhetin aquaponics modules make the ship almost entirely self-sufficient provided it can salvage the right materials from the battlefield. The aquaponics module along with the ship's automated 'tapcaf' and cargo handling module greatly increase crew efficiency by greatly reducing if not eliminating the requirement for crewmembers to be assigned to mundane tasks such as food preparation or cargo handling and inventory management. When combined with the utilitarian comforts of the quarters on the ship, it is easy to see the impact that these modules have on not just crew efficiency but also crew morale.

Being the company flagship, the Morut is often the center of massive combined operations or occasionally negotiations. As a result the ship has a number of briefing rooms with holographic displays and tables with the main conference room featuring an original Veshok wood table meticulously kept in good condition.
