FACTION: Mandalorians
RANK: CEO of Breshig War Forge Consolidated
SPECIES: Human
AGE: 42
SEX: Male
HEIGHT: 6'2"
WEIGHT: 200
EYES: Brown
HAIR: Dark brown, greying.
SKIN: White
FORCE SENSITIVE: No.

STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES:
  • Mandalorian: Shuklaar was trained extensively from a very young age in hand-to-hand and close quarters combat, marksmanship, fieldcraft and explosives. He's had extensive experience since, though remained a specialist in hand-to-hand and close quarters combat and has a knack with explosives. Not a marksman by any means, Shuklaar is still a good shot by most accounts.
  • Engineer: From a very young age, Shuklaar was always tinkering and working on weapons and armor, and when he was old enough to get his hands on starfighters and larger vessels he found his true passion. His proposition of consolidating Breshig Arms, United Forges and Hypernautics would have likely been ignored if the heads of the other firms weren't sure he knew what he was talking about.
  • Natural Leader: Of course, it's not enough to be able to walk the walk, you have to be able to talk the talk as well. Shuklaar is a natural leader, one who's always looking out for those under him, making up for their collective weaknesses with their collective strengths.
  • Getting Older: At forty galactic standard years even, Shuklaar isn't as strong or fast as he used to be. While age may bring wisdom, a younger warrior still has the advantage of being...well, younger.
  • Jetiise, Dar'jetiise, They're All The Same: Like most Mandalorians, Shuklaar has a deep seated distrust of force users trained in any of the two main philosophies that most force users subscribe to or their offshoots. While he doesn't seek to hunt them down and destroy them, he certainly has no qualms with putting them down if they get in his way or threaten him or his.
  • To Haran With The Aruetiise: Also like most Mandalorians, Shuklaar has no love for aruetiise. He believes their ways to be largely inimical with the Mandalorian way of life. While some call him a traditionalist, he rightly cites the problems letting outsiders into the Mandalore sector has caused in the past.
APPEARANCE:
Standing at 6'2" out of armor and well muscled, Shuklaar is about what most expect out of a Mandalorian. He isn't as scar covered as many of his fellow Mando'ade, but one look into his brown eyes is enough to let anyone know he's seen his fair share of action. The face under the buy'ce has short spiky greying black hair and a beard that's usually well trimmed.

BIOGRAPHY:
Shuklaar was born to Rusana and Mereel Kyrdol on Breshig. His parents were both members of the Vuhyr'yalilyr, a formation of elite commandos part of the Strill Securities mercenary company. Luckily for Shuklaar, Strill Securities was exclusively contracted out to Breshig Hypernautics. So aside from the few times that his parents were off chasing pirates or others dumb enough to cause problems for Breshig Hypernautics, they were home to raise him. Being the first child of the young couple, they very much doted on him.

At the age of four, his parents gave him one of his mother's old holdout blasters to train with. His mother, a sniper in the Vuhyr'yalilyr, was the one to teach him to shoot. Hand to hand basics followed with his father. Shuklaar took to his early training well, but it was when he was six that his knack for engineering first came to light. The old holdout blaster that he'd been using began pulling to the left, and after hearing his mother diagnose it as a galven coil problem and tell him to leave it on the workbench for either of them to fix it, Shuklaar took it upon himself to pour over the weapon's technical manual. His parents didn't have time to fix it in the coming days, as they were called away on a job, and so Shuklaar took it upon himself to swap the faulty galven coil for a replacement.

When his parents were back, Shuklaar was busy at the range, and they were genuinely surprised to see the weapon firing as good as new. While most Mandalorians were expected to field strip, clean and conduct basic repairs to their weapons, his parents had a feeling that Shuklaar had a knack for this sort of thing. So they did the only thing they knew to do, and took him to see a friend of his mother's at Breshig Arms. Shuklaar spent the day there, and got to shoot and work on a variety of different blaster weapons, and even got his first taste of a Verpine Shatter gun. He was given the rundown of the weapon by one of the local Verpine-Mandalorian engineers.

To give their son exposure to just about as much as they could, Shuklaar got to spend the next day at Breshig Hypernautics courtesy of a head engineer who his father knew. Shuklaar got a taste of starships and their various subsystems, and while he was quite impressed by the starfighters being made there, it was the capital ships and their weapon systems that really caught his eye. As the years went on, Shuklaar would continue the day long visits as he trained. So as he learned to fight and survive, as he learned of the Mandalorian ways, he also learned how various weapon systems functioned. Some days it was personnel grade weapons, others it was fighter based weapons, and others it was vast capital ship grade systems.

When he turned eight, he began accompanying his parents on jobs. Some days it was serving on the maintenance staff of Strill Securities' vast capital ships, working wherever the extra help was needed. Others, when the fighting wasn't too heavy for a boy who hadn't passed his verd'goten yet, he joined his parents on the ground. Though rarely did he actually accompany them, usually following the 'regular' shock troops in. It was in the heat of battle that Shuklaar really acquired his taste and knack for explosives. When he passed his verd'goten, little actually changed. Shuklaar continued to serve on board Strill Securities' capital ships, and on occasion accompanied their shock troops into battle whenever his services were required.

It was during this time, however, that he met a young helmsman on the Naast, Strill Securities' flagship produced by Breshig Hypernautics. At first, they bonded over their mutual interest in military starships, talking about their favorite models from MandalMotors, Mandal Hypernautics and Breshig Hypernautics. They even talked of a few Kuat made ships that had caught their interest. Over the course of the conversation, Shuklaar realized that Nyles tended to know a little more than most about what made a ship tick, and so when they ran out of ships to talk about, they talked about the ships they'd develop if they could.

As they got to know each other better, Shuklaar found out that their parents already knew one another. When he was eighteen, Shuklaar was rotated onto the Naast, and was placed on the ship's engineering team as part of the third watch. He became familiar with several other members of third watch, friends of Nyles Kote, who along with Nyles himself were also on the third watch. Varan Varad, the third watch marine contingent commander and Emri Kyrr, tactical officer. During his tour of duty on the Naast, Shuklaar had a chance to experience what it was like to serve on a capital ship of it's caliber during combat situations as Strill Securities defended against those that dropped into the Breshig system with hostile intent.

This continued till he was about twenty, when he was offered a full-time position at Breshig Hypernautics working on capital ship grade weapon systems, apparently he'd impressed someone with his understanding of them during his tenure with Strill Securities. When he was about twenty four, Shuklaar joined a joint team of Mandalorians and Verpine to develop a new series of mass driver ordnance launchers. It was on this project that Shuklaar bore witness to just how badly stretched Breshig Hypernautics finances were stretched between its various projects. However, Shuklaar managed to keep his team working with what they had and saw his end of the project through to the end.

Several R&D projects later and someone noticed Shuklaar's talents. He spent time at the head of a number of other projects, some of these joint development projects with Breshig Arms and Breshig United Forges. By the time he was thirty, Shuklaar was head of Breshig Hypernautics R&D. Throughout his time, it was the skill with which he coordinated all operations that was rooted in his own admittedly impressive understanding of the various projects that drew attention. He spent considerable effort to make known the advantages of forming a consolidated company to anyone and everyone who'd listen. Listen they did, and while a few felt this would infringe on the ability of each company to truly churn out products that were theirs, there was no denying that they were all short on resources that could only benefit from being pooled together.

At thirty six, Shuklaar was made CEO of Breshig Hypernautics. At thirty eight, Shuklaar enacted his plan which was now over six years in the making. It had taken years of negotiations and even some threatening, but in the end, the Breshig War Forge Consolidated was made a reality. Though specializing in military warships, Shuklaar enacted a plan to start developing civilian vessels as well to help raise capital for the fledgling consolidated company. After all, Mandalorian ships were always built tough. Strill Securities become a subsidiary of Breshig War Forge Consolidated.

However, what should have been a time of celebration turned into a time of concern as the Mandalorian civil war kicked off. Concerned that what was happening on Mandalore would spill into Breshig, Shuklaar ordered the accelerated production of the prototype mobile forge ship, the Tra'nau'ur'kad. As the Sith invaded, Shuklaar, his old friend Nyles Kote and Aran Netra had a decision to make. They could jump into orbit of Mandalore and hope that they'd take enough of the bastards with them to stop the invasion of Mandalorian space, or they could come to the realization that they were hopelessly outnumbered, and now was a time to live to fight another day.

Reluctantly choosing the latter, a mass evacuation was organized. What assorted naval forces clans Kote, Kyrdol, Kyrr, Netra and the Verpine enclave could put up were joined with Strill Securities' fleet and they held off those Sith ships that'd arrived either from Mandalore or from whatever their staging point was in a desperate battle. It wasn't long till before ammunition started running low and more ships continued to pour into the system. Without enough time to destroy everything left behind, they settled for taking important materiel and as many of their vode as they could fit and fleeing the system.
