STRENGTHS
  • Utilitarian Comfort: While not quite the lap of luxury, the Ka'ra'yaim is designed to provide a home away from home for crew serving on long tours of duty whilst providing them all the facilities that most Mandalorians expect out of living space, notably plenty of storage for weapons, armor and space to work on them.
  • Security Integration: The Ka'ra'yaim features easy integration with Morut'yc security system or similar systems at the time of installation.
  • Life Support Integration: Easy integration with life support systems similar to the Btare Ar system make for easy installation of the Ka'ra'yaim into various different platforms, be they stations, ships or groundside installations.
WEAKNESSES
  • Mandalorian Designed: While having more space and a few more features than their standard counterpart, the officer's quarters aren't much different. Additionally, there isn't much space for formal wear. This might be a problem for non-Mandalorians.
  • No Dedicated Life Support: The Ka'ra'yaim relies on whatever life support system that the mounting platform has installed.
  • Little Dedicated Security: The Ka'ra'yaim does not feature its own security features, and is entirely reliant on whatever security system the mounting platform has installed.
DESCRIPTION
"You won't think sleeping in armor's easy after a full day cycle of being at battle stations."
- Strill Securities Fleet Admiral Nyles Kote

Originally developed and produced by the company for installation in their starships, the Ka'ra'yaim was soon adapted as part of the shift towards modularization and streamlined production methods as the standardized living quarters installed in various ground side installations as well as stations by the company. Sparing expense by deciding not to install redundant life support or security systems, the focus was instead on 'utilitarian comfort'. This translated into making the living quarters as close to home and as comfortable as possible for Mandalorians. This meant the inclusion of beds that made armor more comfortable to sleep in, as well as plenty of space to store and work on equipment.
Particular care was paid to ensure that maintenance is not problematic, and as such the company made use of the Inspirit Modular Refresher booth. The easy modular configuration allows the Ka'ra'yaim to remain truly modular, and it's self-cleaning features result in very little maintenance requirements at all. Additionally, all materials used in construction are sturdy, strong milspec materials that are unlikely to deteriorate quickly, even with extremely rough use. The company boasts their bunks are good enough to be used as hard cover in a firefight, and given their construction, that is not a claim made in jest.
The quarters were built to Mandalorian tastes with some additional measure made to make life away from home that much more convenient. Provisions in the beds allow the user to sleep in armor and still be extremely well rested. Sleep-inducing harmonics and adjustable repulsor fields connected into the ship's duty roster and alarm system ensure an undisturbed sleep in times of peace, but also ensure that their functioning doesn't keep the occupant from reacting to changing situations or carrying out their duties effectively. Workbenches and a full-on laser-lathe in the common room combined with plenty of storage ensure that occupants, particularly Mandalorians, feel right at home.
The common rooms feature a small galley and communal facilities as well, further facilitating the communal life style that many Mandalorians are used to. Those used to serving on warships will appreciate the familiarity, yet improved space. That said, however, the Ka'ra'yaim lacks a few creature comforts and occasional opulence of officer's quarters found in other ships. In the vein of the Ka'ra'yaim's flaws, it lacks dedicated life support and security, relying on whatever platform the it's fitted into for the above. It's saving grace in that regard, however, is that integration of such systems into the Ka'ra' yaim is made to be as easy as is possible.
