OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: To create an advanced sensor and targeting suite.
  • Canon Link: N/A.
  • Permissions: N/A.
  • Primary Source: ECCM.
PRODUCTION INFORMATION
SPECIAL FEATURES
STRENGTHS
  • Comprehensive Sensor and Scanner Suite: The sheer number of sensors available gives the craft the suite is mounted on excellent detection capabilities
  • Jamming Resistant: The system's data fusion prevents interference generated by jamming or other electronic warfare suites from overwhelming the system, with only extremely heavy electronic warfare being able to cause any real issues to the system.
  • Lock on Jam: The system has the capability to triangulate jamming signals and develop a firing solution for the source, enabling ships equipped with the system to deal with enemy electronic warfare ships rather than be largely defenseless against such capabilities.
  • Advanced Targeting and Tracking Systems: The advanced targeting systems enable the suite to maintain a target lock and track a variety of targets.
  • Compatibility: The Jai'galaar Sur'haai is compatible with both the Sragivagr and the Manda, allowing for better pilot awareness and further improved targeting respectively.
  • EMP/Ion Resistance: With a combat de-ionizier, agrinium mesh and reinforced duraplast plating, the entire system is highly resistant against EMP/Ion weapons.
  • Long Range: The sensor suite has long range detection and target acquisition capabilities, giving the platform it is mounted on a decided advantage.
WEAKNESSES
  • Manda Offline: When connected to a the Manda tactical battlenet module on a ship, should said module go offline, the system will take considerable time to switch to its default mode, which is to directly connect to the ship's displays. This sort of delay is usually a death sentence to the crew of any ship.
  • EMP/Ion: Should the system actually sustain any EMP/Ion damage, it would likely shut down and have to undergo a lengthy restart process, leaving the ship it is mounted on entirely blind until it does so.
  • Heavy Jamming/ECM: Powerful, focused jamming can take longer for the system to triangulate and develop a firing solution for, which is far from ideal under battlefield conditions.
DESCRIPTION
The Jai'galaar Sur'haai like a number of company products was heavily updated following the contract that both Strill Securities and Breshig War Forge Consolidated had with the CIS. A number of considerably more modern data analytic and computer systems allowed the company to employ a true data fusion method in the system. This greatly reduced the effect of electronic warfare systems and simple environmental interference on the suite. The sheer amount of sensors meant that crew awareness was never a problem that would ever rear its ugly head again.
New to the updated system however was its ability to lock onto jamming sources. The system can attempt to triangulate jamming sources and develop a targeting solution to enable crews to not be immobilized in the event that if the jamming they were facing was powerful and comprehensive enough to overwhelm even the new processing system. This process could take long, however, if there were multiple sources of interference directed at the ship. Compatibility with the Manda module does mitigate this issue due to the 'fresh' data from other ships on the net but does not eliminate it.
That said, when connected to a the Manda tactical battlenet module on a ship, should said module go offline, the system will take considerable time to switch to using its probability projection computer and to directly output to the ship's displays. This sort of delay is usually a death sentence to the crew of any ship.
