PRODUCTION INFORMATION
SPECIAL FEATURES
STRENGTHS
  • Secure: With a dedicated security suite and secure holding cells, the Ka'ra'mircin is an extremely secure brig able to hold all manner of prisoners and facilitate their interrogation no matter how dangerous that they might be.
  • Dedicated Power: A power fluctuation in the station, ship, vehicle or installation won't affect the brig, ensuring that the prisoners, especially the dangerous ones, remain secure.
WEAKNESSES
  • EMP/Ion: There are a fair few complicated electronics involved, and though there are considerable measures
  • Brain Damage: Prolonged exposure to the containment field can cause irreparable brain damage, potentially rendering the prisoner no longer useful for questioning.
  • Humanoids: The brig is designed to hold humanoid prisoners. Prisoners with drastically differing anatomy might not be able to be securely contained.
  • Other Force Users: While the force user containment cells are made to prevent force users who're being held from using their abilities, they aren't made to prevent other force users from using their abilities, meaning a force user rescue is probably going to be as successful as those usually go.
DESCRIPTION
"Ack, curse you Mandalorians and your foul lizards."
"Oh where we're going, shabuire, they're the least of your problems."
- Unnamed Force Sensitive prisoner and Lataruta Ruus Kote Ruus Kote
A starship's brig is a component that is often overlooked and ignored until it is needed. Mandalorians, however, have a long and storied history of being good at capturing and containing dangerous prisoners, force sensitives included. The Ka'ra'mircin is designed to make that facilitate that task. The Ka'ra'mircin didn't come out of a modernization or need for manufacturing streamlining like many of the company's products, instead it was developed to facilitate Strill Securities' at the time recent string of urban suppression contracts. The contract led to the apprehension of a number of dangerous cultist dissidents, some of whom happened to be untrained force sensitives.
The ka'ra'mircin prominently features a force user containment cell that is a combination universal energy cage-force sensitive holding cell unit. The latter is contained within the former, ensuring that there is almost no chance that a force sensitive could ever escape containment, either via their own abilities or by sheer physical prowess. For holding 'regular' prisoners, a 'standard' energy cage is provided. Also included is an interrogation cell that features a containment field, which is notably useful in interrogating both force sensitives and non-force sensitives, and has the benefit of disrupting the former's connection to the force, though can cause brain damage with prolonged exposure. The above constitutes the base configuration of the Ka'ra'mircin, though Stasis Pods are often included instead or in addition. This configuration, however, is power hungry, necessitating a dedicated power supply. The included Argu'a reactor has the added benefit of ensuring that a lapse in main power does not result in the containment measures being compromised.
A particularly unfortunate experience involving a prisoner breakout led by compromised members of the local enforcers resulted in Breshig War Forge including a dedicated and separate security system for use with the Ka'ra'mircin, ensuring that only those that need to have access to the brig have access. Additionally, the use of their system allows for the use of it's gas dispersal system to flood the cell of any problematic prisoner with knockout gas or a variety of different more lethal gasses.
Optionally, a dedicated medbay for the brig can be included, as well as a processing room that doubles as a monitoring station for guards/the warden. The processing room features a video intercom to the cells as well as to the main entrance, and has a holoscanner and force-detecting chip to aid in the processing of prisoners. To help keep prisoners under control, a variety of prisoner control gear is included in a locker. There is additionally a firehose is included as well as provision for storage of cleaning supplies.
The real limitation of the Ka'ra'mircin is its relative inability to contain non-humanoid prisoners as well as the fact that powerful EMP/Ion weapons can overload its protective measures. Force users are also similarly not safe guarded against by the system's base configuration if they are not already contained in one of the cells or fitted with the included Mircit harness. That said, a hostile force user intent on assaulting the Ka'ra'mircin may not find their task entirely easy even with the aid of their abilities, and the company's Ysalamiri Birikad exists for just such occasions.
