OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: To create a means to share battlefield data with friendly vessels that don't have a compatible or matching battlenet module.
  • Canon Link: N/A.
  • Permissions: Permission from John Locke John Locke to use his Harmonia System [x].
  • Primary Source: 'Manda' Tactical Battlenet.
PRODUCTION INFORMATION
SPECIAL FEATURES
STRENGTHS
  • Data Sharing: Once a link is established with a friendly vessel or vessels, data can be freely shared from the ship mounting the Manda'ika as though they were sharing the same set of sensors, scanners and targeting systems.
  • Powerful, Varied, Self-modulating Encryption: The system has a number of powerful, varied encryption methods, making it's communications even if intercepted extremely difficult to decipher.
  • Boosted Signal: The Hiridiu Crystal enhanced Chatterbox component allows for a greatly increased communications range.
WEAKNESSES
  • One Way: The ship mounting the Manda'ika can share the combined battlenet sensor, scanner and targeting data but the ship receiving it has no way through the system to add to this, it can only receive.
  • Sensors: The system is entirely dependent on sensors, if the sensors of the host ship and the other ones in a naval formation are not sufficiently powerful and/or advanced, then the system is severely bottlenecked by this limitation.
  • Overwhelmed: While extremely difficult, it is possible to overwhelm the system with data. If the input filter buffers overflow, the system will experience significant processing delays and in a worst case scenario might even crash and need to be rebooted. Such a procedure takes a long time, time that most ships won't have in a battle.
  • Bandwidth: While the Manda'ika uses dedicated communications systems, the data sharing is only as effective as the quantum of data that can be sent and received. While high bandwidth results in near optimal data sharing, limited bandwidth limits effectiveness.
DESCRIPTION
"How hard is it to buy a battlenet module!?"
"Rule number one of being a mercenary; never assume your client is as smart as you think they are."
"That is not rule number one."
"It should be."
- Two unidentified Strill Securities naval crewmen.

Necessity being the mother of invention, Breshig War Forge Consolidated developed the Manda'ika due to encountering a number of clients who had no battlenet module, let alone a compatible one. While possible to manually share data between allied vessels, the company knew that trying to share bandwidth with an existing communications system in the middle of battle was a disaster in the making. The Manda'ika solved this problem by featuring its own dedicated communications suite.
At its core, the system is very simple. It connects to an existing battlenet system and can then share the combined battlenet sensor, scanner and targeting data through a secured comm link to the receiving ship as though they were sharing the same set of sensors, scanners and targeting systems. The receiving ship has no way through the system to add to this, it can only receive. However, like the Manda module itself, it is prone to information overflow and critical failures that might result from that.
Finally, for the system to function optimally, the connection needs to have a high bandwidth. The more limited the bandwidth, the more limited the effectiveness of the system.

Nice sub again! I can't accept the Harmonia System, because it is in the Pre-Factory and we are not moving threads from there to the live area. And John's permission is a broken link (the picture has been deleted). I would like to ask you to edit these.
