OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: To create a ship and emplacement grade electronic warfare suite for use by Breshig War Forge, Strill Securities and select others.
  • Image Source: Here and here.
  • Canon Link: N/A.
  • Permissions: N/A.
  • Primary Source: 'Ga'yusr' Electronic Countermeasure Suite.
PRODUCTION INFORMATION
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Advanced Interface: The system's interface
  • Droid Brain: Management of the system is carried out by the a heuristically learning droid brain which follows the operator's commands via the system's interface.
  • 'Manda' Tactical Battlenet compatibility: The system can be managed by a Manda tactical battlenet module to better manage and coordinate electronic warfare capabilities for individual ships as well as naval formations.
  • Passive Systems:
    • Energy Baffler augmented Sensor Blind: The Ori'ga'yusr's sensor blind is active and effective only at longer ranges, where combined with the energy baffler it can aid ships in remaining unidentified as a starship or as a grounside installation, depending on mounting platform.
    • Communications Scrambler: The system operates passively alongside the platform's communications systems.
    • Emissions Disguiser: The Ori'ga'yusr's emissions disguiser array disguises a craft's drive emissions, delaying the time it takes to lock onto a craft's engines, or pick it up at medium to long ranges.
    • Sensor Dampener: The passive sensor dampener array utilized by the Ori'ga'yusr dampens enemy sensors by piggybacking the jamming signal on incoming sensor scans.
  • Active Systems:
    • ELINT Mast: Supplemental communications jamming is conducted by retractable ELINT mast(s).
    • Particle-emitter augmented Comm Jammer: The Ori'ga'yusr features a particle-emitter augmented comm jammer array to handle mid-range communications jamming.
    • Short-range Tactical Sensor and Communications Jammer: Short-range communications and sensor jamming is handled by a short-range tactical sensor and comms jammer array.
    • Full-spectrum Distortion Projector: The full-spectrum distortion projector module handles mid-range jamming of scanners and targeting computers by using broadband transmissions to interfere with sensors attempting to target the craft.
    • DERP: The dedicated energy receptor projector array on the Ori'ga'yusr has a high potential to block incoming long-range sensor pings and transmissions broadcasted by enemy ships, rendering the craft/installation notably difficult to detect to most enemy scanners, targeting computers and incoming ordnance.
    • Guidance Jammer: The Ori'ga'yusr features a powerful guidance jammer array designed to homing computers aboard concussion missiles, proton torpedoes and other ordnance.
STRENGTHS
  • Comprehensive Sensor and Communications Jamming: The system has a number of advanced communications and sensor jammers as well as a number of scramblers, dampeners and other advanced electronic warfare systems, allowing it to leverage a number of advantages against enemies lacking appropriate defences against such systems.
  • Intelligent Jamming: The system scans multiple communication bands and frequencies as well as determines what manner of sensors are pinging it's host before engaging the appropriate jamming measures, making it far more efficient than a blanket wide-band jammer.
  • Resilient: The system is resilient to all manner of damage sources that might be found on the battlefield, and is built with combat conditions in mind.
WEAKNESSES
  • They're Jamming Us!: The downside to jammers is that the target is well aware that they are being jammed. This is always a surefire way of identifying that hostile forces are in the area, as well as potentially allowing the target of said jamming to take measures to mitigate its effects.
  • Home on Jam: Missiles with home on jam capabilities will not be affected by any concerted jamming and will instead home in on the jamming signal.
  • If We're Jamming, We Can't Intercept: Jamming the enemy's frequencies will naturally prevent interception of their communications.
  • Frequency Hopping Communications: Rapid frequency hopping communications are difficult to track down and difficult to jam.
  • EMP/Ion: As with all complicated electronics, any EMP/Ion damage powerful enough to overwhelm the system's protective measures can cause severe to irreparable damage.
DESCRIPTION
"The idea is to intelligently employ electronic warfare measures rather than jam everything and anything and hope it shabla works."
- Breshig War Forge Consolidated CEO Shuklaar Kyrdol
"Wasting droid brain cycles by allocating more resources isn't 'optimizing' anything, di'kut. Good thing the system's smarter than you are."
- Strill Securities Fleet Admiral Nyles Kote to a hot shot new recruit.

The company's need for a capital ship and emplacement grade system came from the same need to streamline production processes due to the shift to orbital production facilities. Following an amusing tihaar fueled conversation between Strill Securities Fleet Admiral Kote and Shuklaar Kyrdol led to the idea of an electronic warfare suite that could leverage the analytical capabilities of the Manda tactical battlenet module or a droid brain, or ideally, both. The system scans multiple communication bands and frequencies as well as determines what manner of sensors are pinging it's host before engaging the appropriate jamming measures, making it far more efficient than a blanket wide-band jammer. The system is built Mando-tough, more than suited to take the stresses of combat conditions and resilient against the wide variety of damage that might be inflicted upon it on the battlefield.
Naturally, jammers tend to give away to the target that they're being jammed, and are not quite subtle, though there are more subtle electronic warfare systems that make up the Ori'ga'yusr suite. Missiles with home on jam capabilities, such as those produced by the company, are one of the systems downsides. Such missiles will not be affected, and will likely instead just home in on the jamming signal. Secondly, jamming a target's communications will make intercepting said communications extremely difficult if not nigh on impossible. Thirdly, rapid frequency hopping communication systems are difficult to track, difficult to isolate and difficult to jam. Finally, given the complicated electronics in use, any EMP/Ion damage powerful enough to overwhelm the system's protective measures can cause severe to irreparable damage.

Changed the wording to indicate the DERP used here isn't a stealth device. Does this work?

Unfortunately not, beause this made this to cloaking device in this case:
It worked by absorbing and blocking incoming long-range sensor pings and transmissions broadcast by enemy ships, rendering the starfighter invisible to most enemy scanners, targeting computers, and incoming missiles.
So because it is able to hide it from scanners, targeting computers, and incoming missiles. I'm sure of that because I asked John about 1.5 to 2 months ago and he definitely said this is a cloaking device.
