    • Active Homing:
      • Pre-launch: The missile downloads sensor data, targeting and tracking information of the target as well as the IFF codes of all friendly assets in the area from the launch platform before launching.
      • Launch: The missile acquires a sensor lock on target and begins accelerating toward the target.
      • Midcourse: Using active sensor and scanner data from its own sensors, the missile determines whether to pursue the target and detonate on impact or in proximity of the target or to attempt to intercept the target's path of motion. At this stage, the missile can switch to Home on Jam mode if the amount of interference is too high such that it loses its original target. If there is no interference yet the missile has lost track of its target, the missile will revert to Inertial Guidance. The presence of hostile point-defense is also checked for, determining what if any terminal phase maneuvering the missile carries out. At any point during the midcourse phase, the missile defaults to inertial delayed active guidance mode.
      • Terminal: The missile expends the remainder of its fuel in a sustained high energy acceleration toward the target, detonating either on impact or in proximity depending on what approach and if any terminal maneuvering was selected by the missile during the midcourse phase.
    • Control Guidance:
      • Pre-launch: The missile downloads sensor data, targeting and tracking information of the target as well as the IFF codes of all friendly assets in the area from the launch platform before launching.
      • Midcourse: The missile receives updated targeting and tracking information from the launching platform via an encrypted frequency hopping comms link. The missile determines whether to pursue the target and detonate on impact or in proximity of the target or to attempt to intercept the target's path of motion. Detonation mode and exact flight path can still be programmed by the launching platform, however. The presence of hostile point-defense is also checked for by the missile's sensors, determining what if any terminal phase maneuvering the missile carries out, though the launch platform can change this at any point during the midcourse phase. If at any point in the midcourse phase the missile loses communications with the launch platform, it reverts to home on jam guidance. If for whatever reason there is no hostile source of electronic interference, the missile merely attempts to locate a hostile target to engage.
      • Terminal: The missile expends the remainder of its fuel in a sustained high energy acceleration toward the target, detonating either on impact or in proximity depending on what approach and if any terminal maneuvering was selected during the midcourse phase.
    • Waypoint Search and Destroy:
      • Pre-launch: The missile downloads the waypoints and a sensor map of the area of the flight path charted out by the set of waypoints.
      • Midcourse: The missile follows the waypoints using its own sensors to path find.
      • Terminal:
        • The missile attempts to locate a hostile target. Following acquisition of said target, the missile analyzes the area to ascertain what target it could most effectively engage.
        • The missile then determines how best to engage said target based on apparent shield and hull strength, presence of point-defense, countermeasures and jamming.
        • If the target is a capital ship, the missile attempt to find exposed or semi-exposed subsystems and locks onto them.
        • If enough interference prevents acquisition of said targets, the missile instead switches to home on jam targeting.
        • Once the target has been analyzed, the missile expends the remainder of its fuel in a sustained high energy acceleration toward the target, detonating either on impact or in proximity depending on what approach and if any terminal maneuvering was selected during the midcourse phase.
    • Home on Jam:
      • Midcourse: If the missile switches to home on jam targeting during the midcourse phase, it will identify the strongest source of electronic interference that does not bare a friendly IFF signature and lock onto it.
    • Inertial Guidance: Utilizing a laser gyroscope system to calculate distance travelled, the missile checks it against the previously computed distance to target and then initiates detonation based on the parameters selected at launch.
    • Inertial Delayed Active Guidance: The missile follows inertial guidance till the end of the midcourse phase, where it changes to active homing mode. This is useful for engaging targets at the end of the missile's range band, where its sensors, scanners and tracking systems may not be accurate enough to maintain a good lock and track.
    • Salvo Mode: When fired in Active Homing or Waypoint mode or if the missile switches to home on jam and salvo mode is enabled, a 'predesignated' missile will network with the other missiles launched to share data for a better sensor picture and will additionally assess the targets in the area and assign targeting including of subcomponents such as individual batteries or exposed communications equipment on capital ships and stations. Alternatively, this missile can relay this information back to the launch platform if in range, and can receive targeting priority from it.
  • Launch Mode(s):
    • Standard Launch: If not loaded into a mass-driver missile launcher, the missile can still be launched normally.
      • Hot: The container's gasses are vented and the missile's engines are activated straight away following the pre-launch sequence.
      • Cold: The missile is cold launched from it's container out of the tube using gas expansion before the missile's engines are activated.
    • Magnetically Accelerated Launch:
      • Hot: The missile is magnetically accelerated out of the launch tube and then immediately activates its engines.
      • Cold: The missile relies on initial launch velocity from the magnetic launch system to close the distance during the launch and mid course phase before activating its engines on full burn in the terminal phase.
  • Detonation Mode(s):
    • Airburst (I & B models only): The missile detonates above the target for a more even effect on target whilst also being theoretically less impeded by obstacles.
    • Proximity (I & B models only): The missile detonates while the target is in the missile's blast radius.
    • Impact: The missile detonates on impact.
    • Delayed: The missile detonates following a set delay following impact.
    • Post Terminal Self-destruct: If for whatever reason the missile does not detonate once the terminal phase boost is complete, it will detonate automatically at that point.
  • Sensor, Scanner and Tracking Suite: The Tra'kal creates a composite sensor picture by cross checking data from all of its sensors when in guidance modes where it actively uses the to acquire/track targets.
  • Propulsion and Maneuvering:

    • Tamper Detection: Any attempt to reprogram the missile including through the use of Mechu Deru and similar abilities will result in the missile either triggering a micro-ion charge to fry its own circuits.
  • Defenses:
    • Combat De-ionizer
    • Electronic Warfare Suite: The missile's electronic warfare suite is only engaged once the missile's computer detects that a hostile is attempting to locate, track and/or engage the missile.
      • Full-spectrum Distortion Projector: The full-spectrum distortion projector module handles mid-range jamming of scanners and targeting computers by using broadband transmissions to interfere with sensors attempting to target the missile.
      • DERP: The dedicated energy receptor projector on the Tra'ragir has a high potential to block incoming long-range sensor pings and transmissions broadcasted by enemy ships, rendering the missile notably difficult to detect to most enemy scanners, targeting computers and incoming ordnance.
      • Guidance Jammer: The Tra'ragir features a powerful guidance jammer designed to homing computers aboard concussion missiles, proton torpedoes and other ordnance.
  • Communications Suite:
STRENGTHS
  • Jammer/Countermeasure Resistant: The missile uses a composite sensor picture generated by cross checking data from its array of advanced sensors, scanners and tracking systems. This, combined with the countermeasures compensation computer drastically reduces the missiles vulnerability to jammers and countermeasures.
  • Missile Deactivation Transmitter Immune: Once armed and active, there is no way to shut off the missile. Missile deactivation transmitters therefore cannot shut off the missile once it has been launched.
  • Home on Jam: While certainly highly resistant to jamming, these missiles certainly are not immune to jamming. They possess a home on jam function that locks onto the strongest source of electronic interference that does not bare a friendly IFF signature
  • Low Profile: With a reflec laced fiberplast exterior, etheric rudders and an IR suppressed thrust trace dampened vectral-equipped ion-atmospheric hybrid drive burning TibannaX, the missile has a very low sensor signature, especially when performing a magnetically accelerated cold launch. Additionally, the missile's electronic warfare suite make the missile extremely hard to locate, track and engage especially when taken in consideration with its considerable passive stealth features.
  • Excellent Sensors, Scanners and Tracking: The missile possesses a wide variety of sensors, scanners and tracking systems, giving it a fantastic ability to detect and track targets.
  • Fast, Nimble and Deadly: The Tra'ragir is extremely fast and nimble, easily able to keep up with, track and engage the fastest and most agile corvettes despite its considerable mass thanks to tis extremely powerful vectored drive and maneuvering system.
  • Modular Warhead: The missile can be fitted with a number of different warheads. This process is simple enough that it can be carried out while the missile is in storage before it is loaded into a launcher.
  • Resilient: The missile's frame allows it to weather point-defense fire and direct-attack countermeasures usually long enough to successfully engage its target.
WEAKNESSES
  • Not Stealth: Though possessing an extraordinarily small sensor profile for something of its size, the missile is in fact entirely detectable by particularly advanced military grade sensor suites, especially those that cross check data from different sensor and scanner systems such as the missile's own.
  • It's Out There Somewhere: Targets with sensor systems advanced enough will know that the missile is present and tracking them thanks to its electronic warfare suite, however locating, tracking and engaging the missile is unlikely to be an easy task.
  • Size Limitations: The missile's size and weight limit how many can be carried, especially by smaller launch platforms.
  • Home on Jam: While the missiles home on jam capability does give it the capability to not be rendered useless by such systems, it can cause the missile to potentially lose track of its original target, such as in the case that the source of that jamming stems from another target entirely.
  • Volatile (Baradium Warhead): If it takes enough damage to sympathetically detonate the warhead inside the launch tube the missile is likely not only detonate spectacularly, but likely set off other ordnance as well.
  • Velocity Dependent (HEKP & S models): Tra'ragir models with a penetrator require the missile to have a high velocity prior to impact to be able to penetrate armor and hull plating effectively.
  • Sensor Range (Control Guidance mode): The missile's range is very much affected by the range and resolution of the sensor suite of the launch platform.

The Tra'ragir or Star Spear in basic was designed to be used against capital sips, capital ship hard points as well as orbital and ground side installations and orbital fire support. Rather than being based on the Tra'beviin's design like the previous version of the missile, the new version has been purpose built from the ground up by taking into account combat data from a variety of conflicts that the missiles have been involved in, most notably during the company's contract with the CIS.
One of these was the replacement of the field disruptor with a comprehensive electronic warfare suite. The missile's passive stealth features including but not limited to its low-profile yet powerful drive and maneuvering thrusters and Reflec laced Fiberplast exterior make the missile extremely difficult to detect. However, should the missile's computer detect that a hostile is attempting locate, track and/or engage the missile it will immediately engage the missile's electronic warfare suite. This suite can greatly frustrate if not all but prevent the hostile from doing so, but does give away that the missile is indeed in play.
Also new to the missile is its immunity to being remotely deactivated. Once armed and active, the missile cannot be deactivated. For security's sake, the missiles don't possess a stand down, disarm or self-destruct code. Additionally, any attempt to reprogram the missile including through the use of Mechu Deru and similar abilities will result in the missile either triggering a micro-ion charge to fry its own circuits. The missile retains the previous version's home on jam function, wherein it locks onto the strongest source of electronic interference that does not bare a friendly IFF signature. This feature can cause the missile to potentially lose track of its original target, such as in the case that the source of that jamming stems from another target entirely.
Like many missiles in the new series, the Tra'ragir additionally features a modular warhead system. These warheads can be easily swapped before loading. This increases the tactical options available to operator(s), allowing them to vary their loadout more easily depending on changing mission requirements. It is for this reason that many company warships armories stock more warheads than missiles themselves.
In keeping with a prevailing school of though in Mandalorian design doctrine, the Tra'ragir is designed as a general purpose capital ship based missile that is also used by several other sub capital craft designed by the company. As such, the missile is extremely fast and agile for an assault-grade missile of its size, surprisingly able to keep up with, track and engage the fastest and most agile corvettes despite its considerable mass thanks to tis extremely powerful vectored drive and maneuvering system. The missile's resilient, but lightweight frame contributes to this, and additionally allows it to potentially weather point-defense fire and direct-attack countermeasures usually long enough to successfully engage its target.
The missile is however, very specifically designed with a very particular Mandalorian school of thought in mind, and as such may not be suitable for use in platforms that aren't compatible with said school of thought. The most notable of these issues is the missile's size and weight, which is considerable for its class. There is little possible argument about the missile's effectiveness when made use of by a platform either designed using said school of thought or one compatible with said school of thought, especially when one could easily argue that though often more than not fewer Tra'ragir can be brought to bear on target than other missiles, few of these missiles ever need to be fired.
