Background
Amani Serys was a sickly youth raised on a quiet Tython farmstead, where her parents migrated shortly after her birth. They instilled in her a deep reverence for tradition and the Force, which she took to heart. When she was eight, the family fell victim to a plague that had rapidly spread in the local area, her parents both eventually succumbing to the disease. Presumably due to her hidden Force-sensitivity, and the assistance of a Jedi healer, Amani made a miraculous recovery and was brought back with the Jedi to become an initiate of the Silver Jedi Order.

Amani proved to be exceptionally promising with the Force even at a young age, becoming a talented healer in her own right. She dedicated herself earnestly to her studies, leaving time for little else until she grew further into her padawan years. Over time her faith was tested again and again through the trials and tribulations of Jedi-hood, culminating in the loss of her left arm, and even a fall to the dark side, after a crucial mistake that she long blamed herself for. In a gamble to gain the power she believed was needed to right her own wrongs, Amani allowed herself to succumb to the dark side's influence. In time it succeeded, but at a cost.

Now with her Force connection subconsciously suppressed, and a jaded outlook on the sanctity of the galaxy’s Jedi orders tainted by politicking and internal strife, Amani cut her ties and set off in search of a higher purpose.
