Private Same As It Ever Was

Lamaredd

“Think those raiders will come back?”

“They always do. Whether it’s five minutes from now, or five weeks.”

“Wishful thinking, I guess. As if there aren’t enough problems to deal with.”

The last broken slug casing clinked into the metal pan with finality, and at last the Mirialan stood up from behind her patient and stepped away to rinse her hands, crimson stains streaking away into the sink basin. “Okay, that’s that. If you start experiencing any excessive pain and or bleeding, lemme know, yeah?” She returned with a bacta patch, slapping it onto the back of the man's shoulder before helping him up.

“I know the drill. Thanks, doc.”

She ushered the man out the front door to clean her workspace in peace. Once finished, she found herself left alone in the silence of the empty room, and after an awkward pause she followed suit, stepping out directly into brilliant sunbeams, which peaked through the tropic canopy that blanketed the village she currently called home.

Amani Serys had made an emergency landing on Lamaredd after a run in with the Reef, an asteroid field notorious for tampering with hyperspace travel. It worked out well enough, as she caught wind of a medical outreach that had been set up on the planet, primarily to help the natives combat a problematic tropical disease that had been on the rise. Amani offered up her own services, which were more than welcomed; It’s not like she had any other plans anyway.

Just recently they had managed to reach out for a resupply, and Amani had been the one tasked with welcoming the cargo ship upon its landing, to receive the medical supplies. She made her way to the makeshift landing zone they had designated in a nearby clearing, holding out for the ship’s long-awaited arrival.

Delivering medicine wasn't how Lilanna thought she would be spending her week, regardless, she was here, doing just that. The rhythmic 'hiss' of her helmets air processor echoed faintly in the hold, as she could feel the ship had dropped out of hyperspace, meaning they were nearing their destination. This place had been having issues with raiders for some time now, and so in their infinite wisdom, the Empire decided that one Warden might somehow divert raiders from taking action against the ship. Now, to Lilanna, she had several issues with this thought process, namely raiders wouldn't care who was on a supply ship to begin with, they'd still try and get what they came for regardless.
It didn't matter however, as she was here, and she'd see the assignment to the end. Her 'face' remained normal for the time being, the holoshroud encompassing her helm giving the appearance of her unblemished face. She had learned not all that long ago that people found her disfigurement repulsive, and often they attempted to combat her on sight, believing her to be Sith or some sort of monster. It was for that reason she was thankful for the holoshroud. Though at times she wished there was a way to mend the damage that had been done to her body, though another part of her was terrified into what that ordeal might lead to.
As the ship touched down, the familiar 'whoosh' of the pressure of the ship was released, mixing with the atmosphere of the planet. Lilanna knew next to nothing about this world, save for it being mostly oceanic. She was the first one on board to step foot down the ramp, catching a glimpse of this new world for the first time. Her sight focused on the incoming wave of workers, seemingly eager to get the supplies that she and the crew had brought, seemed that their supply issue was far worse than she initially thought. Standing aside, Lilanna did not try to assist the workers as they began unloading the items, merely striding down the ramp to oversee the process. She came to a stop near a Mirialan woman, finding her to be an acceptable distance away from the madness. Standing awkwardly for a moment, Lilanna finally asked a question she was somewhat curious about. "Seems like things have been difficult here." She said, her voice modified by the voice modulator, though her gaze lingered on the ship, not wanting to risk someone seeing through her disguise.
Unknown to the Warden, the two pilots still hadn't emerged. Within the confines of the cockpit, the co-pilot had rendered the pilot senseless, and was in the midst of broadcasting the signal to the rest of his 'companions'. There would be a new wave of raiders en route soon enough, though at current, no one save the co-pilot was aware.

Amani’s eyes darted back and forth between the offloading cargo and the datapad in her hand, mentally checking off everything they had requested. She had hardly even noticed the individual standing next to her now until they spoke, finally breaking her from her near-robotic state. “That’s an understatement,” She responded with a dry chuckle. “On top of the exponentially rising number of infected cases, we’ve got a serious raider problem. Whether it’s off-worlders or disgruntled Menahuun, it seems like everyone wants a piece of what we have.” Her gaze wandered back towards the small village behind them for a moment. “Frankly, I don’t see the appeal.” Some people just wanted to watch the world burn, as it goes.

There was a moment of pause, “Is that... everything?” Amani looked expectantly at the ship, “The manifest had more on record than that.” Not bothering to ask for any sort of permission, Amani approached the cargo ramp, peering into the ship’s interior and eventually towards the cockpit. Inside, two pilots, one notably less animated than the other. “Um...Excuse me?”

A curious glance went towards the, as she merely gave a small nod at the statement of the situation. She hadn't know that things were this bad. Perhaps she could bring additional forces next time, find the raider base and purge them. Though she doubted that she would be the first to attempt such a thing. She closed her eyes, reaching out, and immediately felt the suffering of those in the near by area. A frown formed under her concealed face. In past times, she would have been one of those inflicting pain upon these people. Sadly, her abilities with healing were lacking for certain, as seen by the state of her body. Lilanna was silent for a moment, pondering what exactly to say. "That is the dangers of trying to live on the fringe I suppose. But perhaps I can arrange for something to be done about this dilemma, no need for people to die when the Empire can spare a few troops." It was a hollow point she was certain, for the Empire sought to expand it's own power, but still...it would save lives would it not?
The doctor seemed a bit perturbed, inquiring about the shipment, to which Lilanna craned her head. She had been assured that everything was to par. Had they made a mistake? Unlikely. "I am unsure, we don't often make mistakes." She advised, only to find the woman had made a b-line towards the ramp, prompting Lilanna to move to follow. She wouldn't risk a confrontation breaking out here, though she was genuinely confused as to what was going on here.
As the woman called out to the crew, Lilanna was immediately alarmed by the lack of response. Peering in past Amani, Lil found an off sight. Both pilots were still strapped in. She reached out with the force once more, and found something amiss. One of the pilots had a diminished thought pattern, was he-.
"Wait, wait!"
Lilanna's eyes widened, the force granting her a warning, as she moved to step in front of the doctor, as a blaster shot came tearing out of the cockpit. Lilanna raised her arm, forcing the bolt to slam into her armored bracer, sending sparks flying and knocking her hand aside. The man went for another shot now, but Lilanna knew what to expect, she wouldn't let him do it again. She reached out with her free hand, and took hold of his wrist, with a display of force, she crushed the bone, sending the men stumbling to the floor in pain.
As the man howled in pain, the Warden moved to secure him and the weapon, her mind racing as she was trying to figure out what the hell was going on.
Right about that time, three drop ships began breach the clouds, Amani would be able to identify them immediately. The raiders had come back, and with a bit more fire power this time. Force only knew what they planned to do this time.

Amani had notably distanced herself from conversation once the topic of empires and the like came up. She had no interest involving herself with galactic politics. If the people wanted it, then in time they would ask. By then she’d probably be long gone anyway.

More important matters had come to their attention, and no sooner after Amani had peered into the ship’s cockpit did the sound of blaster fire ring out. It happened in a blur, but Amani recognized the Force when she saw it. There wasn’t any time to question it, as more ships had descended near the village. It seemed the raiders wouldn’t take no for an answer.

At the very least, the folk here were fighters, and already people began to scramble, preparing themselves for the second attack today. Amani rushed back to her own dwelling with more gunfire already echoing across the forest. Until now, Amani had kept herself out of the fight, she was a healer, after all. And this healer had seen more than enough carnage already. But it was clear they were going to need as much manpower as possible this time.

Her eyes immediately fell to the bedside drawer, inside which was a relic of her past life. “Not today,” Instead, she threw aside a small covering in the corner of the room, revealing the rifle that lay hidden underneath. People on Lamaredd carried slugthrowers, blaster supplies being too difficult to access in a location as remote as this. Using one was one of the first things the locals made sure Amani could do. She unlocked the bolt-action with a loud ping and made a quick return to the landing zone to see more raiders beginning to move in.

“Need a weapon?” Amani called out to Lilanna, offering to toss a sidearm her way as she slid into cover.

The sound of ships entering the skies above caught Lilianna's attention, and with that came the realization she had to make a choice. She couldn't let this man go about harming others, so she made a drastic choice. She took her saber and ignited it, the sickly yellow blade puncturing the shadows of the ship, as she struck the back of the man, severing the spine, and rendering him a non-threat for the time being. Lilanna turned towards the doctor, only to find the woman already rushing off; either to help others, or tend to the defenses.
Either way, that left her on her own for the time being. Stepping off the back of the ship, Lilanna found a plethora of foes to battle, and no one of reaching them. She leapt to the top of the drop ship, blade ignited, and eyes searching for whoever was foolish enough to thing they would take this area so long as she was still standing. The force might have been a bit difficult to move about at times, but Lilanna was still a warrior to be respected. Sadly, these idiots that were rushing towards her wouldn't know anything about combat etiquette. Much to the Wardens surprise however, the doctor returned, shouting up to her and offering a weapon, something that caused a smirk to form under Lilanna's mask. She merely gestured with her lightsaber, before pointing it towards the encroaching masses of raiders.
"Here they come."
She gripped her weapon tightly, taking several steps, before launching herself into the air, moving to strike at the nearest raider she landed by, a whirling yellow blade began to cut into their ranks, unfortunately for Amani, there were plenty more where that came from.

The glowing beam of yellow answered Amani’s question. She hadn’t seen a lightsaber in action in quite some time, a thought that gave her a brief moment’s pause before she slipped back into her role.

With the area seemingly brimming with raiders now, it wasn’t hard to find a target. Amani followed the steps she’d been taught to a tee. The gun was loaded, sights set on a raider some distance away, aware of the medic’s weapon trained on his head, but the weapon never fired, “...Dammit.” No matter how hard she tried, Amani’s finger wouldn’t press any further on the trigger. She told herself it was necessary, it was self-defense. But still the weapon didn’t fire. Thoughts of the first and last time she took a life came flooding back, and the medic froze where she was, unable to take that next step.

It was then that a sudden pressure on her neck thrust her back into the moment instincts first. Amani found herself yanked back into a stranglehold by another raider, her rifle firing into the air before dropping to the ground beside her. Inaction turned to panic, and Amani struggled to push back against an opponent of superior size and strength. But matters of survival do not precipitate a fair fight, and she bit down on his arm with whatever immediate force she could muster. The man cried out, releasing his grip around her throat and allowing her lithe figure to slip free. She finished by stamping down on his foot, and using his weight against him, throwing the man down in front of her with a roll. In a moment he was flat on the ground, and Amani drew her sidearm to finish the job. There was another moment of hesitation, before she made the choice to fire it into his leg. Nonlethal, and incapacitating.

But she had no time to recenter herself, as before she knew it two more had charged in, taking her by the arms and pinning her to the ground. Wrestling against it did nothing this time, and Amani was made to watch helplessly as the rest of the village struggled around her, most others similarly being taken captive, but they were not without their own casualties as the raiders seized the upper hand. Her gaze fell to Lilanna, in hopes that someone was still able to hold out against the growing threat.

Lilanna was used to unfair fights. Half of training as a Sith was wading through such battles and unfair advantages, life was unfair, so you made do or die. Usually for the wash outs, it was the later of the two. Even still, there were limits to what she could over come, and she was reaching it.
At current, she was facing down several raiders, half armed with vibro weapons, the other half armed with blasters. There was a tense moment as the combatants observed one another, Lilanna had cut down four of their number, and yet they knew they could overwhelm her. She knew it too, which was why she wasn't eager to push her luck. Saber at the ready, she faced down her foes, muscle tense, ready to strike. If that doctor could give her some help that would be greatly appreciated. Sadly, it didn't matter. Her senses flaired up, an attack to her side, to which she spun and blocked the blade that sought to stab her. Again, the force shouted to her, the attack coming from the right side now. She threw out her arm, smacking the vibro-staff off her gauntlet. She was fast, but the raiders just had numbers. A blaster shot struck her in the back, knocking her forward, just in time for a vibro axe to slam into her shoulder. Grunting, she brought her saber up, moving to slash the man that had hit her, and caught a stun shot to the head. Staggered and disoriented, she tried to find her feet, but the rest of the pack lunged for her, pummeling the warden into unconscious as her saber was torn from her hands.
So much for that last stand.

Amani could only watch as Lilanna too succumbed to the raiders’ overwhelming numbers, and before long they had locked down the entire area, rounding the people up in the center of town. One of the raiders stood tall among the rest, likely one of the ones in charge of this operation, observing their prisoners with smug satisfaction. In his hand, he fiddled with the hilt of Lilanna’s lightsaber, “Didn’t realize you all had a Jedi among you,” he remarked, admiring the prized weapon. A few of the village folk glanced around warily, putting Amani further on edge. People out here weren’t always very fond of Jedi-types, and he knew what he was doing by sowing distrust among them.

“Two, actually.” A second voice called out. One of the other raiders emerged from Amani’s hut, presenting another lightsaber hilt for all to see.

“Well now, how’s that for a surprise,” the boss smirked, catching the weapon from the raider that had found it.

Immediately, Amani grew defensive, disregarding other concerns in the face of their discovery, “Don’t!” She sprang up, only stopping when one of the raiders forcefully held her back, “Don’t touch that. It’s not yours.” They wouldn’t understand the importance of it, but even if they did, they wouldn’t care.

The boss laughed, and ignited the blue blade, holding it underneath Amani’s chin, “It is now.” By now, the townsfolk were transfixed on the action, more and more casting suspicious glances in Amani’s direction. Satisfied with the display, the boss sheathed the weapon and whistled to his men, “Take them to the brig. Jedi especially are a lucrative product.” With the command, Amani and Lilanna were taken and thrown into the cell of the main ship, to wait for the raiders to finish their business with the rest of the village.

NEW CELL

She felt the sense of being dragged at first, her limbs heavy, her head throbbing. Something felt off certainly. She felt...exposed. The reason for so was obvious, her armor had been stripped, someone seemed to have realized the plating around her body wasn't just armor, but intermingled cybernetics. She didn't realize it at current, but once she had regained consciousness, Lilanna was going to be livid. She was left down to the barest of her attire, the thin blaster resistant bodysuit that she wore under the armor, which wasn't much, but at least she had the force.
Lilanna's sense began to return, just in time as she was thrown into the cell, her body striking the hard metal floor of the cell, prompting a groan from the cyborg, though she was quick to recover; groaning slightly and sitting up, she found the doctor to be her cell mate at current. Her hand reached towards her now revealed cybernetics, finding the holoshroud she had gotten so used to hiding behind was no longer deployed. Which meant someone had taken her cowl, and not only that, but her armor. Indeed, she was rather enraged. Her eyes looked to the green skinned woman, her expression less than pleased at the situation, as she had to assume that the look the doctor might be wearing would be one of disgust. Truthfully, most people reacted that way.

The merging of metal and flesh in the manner she had done it didn't sit well with many. Least of all civilians. Lilanna moved towards the cell door, extending a hand as she tried to get a feel for the room they were in, and where they were at. She couldn't come up with much, but with some time she knew she'd be able to get them out of here. She'd just need time. Finding that there were a pair of bunks that could be occupied, Lilanna decided to claim one, still not having spoken despite her time in the cell, but that would change once she found her rest, sitting down on the bed and letting out a sigh. Her eyes looked to Amani, her body language indicating that she was exceptionally annoyed at the situation. "Are you okay?" She inquired, hoping that her companion for the time being hadn't suffered anything worse than a bruise. She had heard far too many horror stories about what raiders were capable of. Such things wouldn't be happening here, that much she was sure of.

oFmkOzR.gif

Bright7 Bright7

When Lilanna was thrown into the cell after her, Amani nearly didn’t recognize her at first given the revelation of cybernetics she had kept hidden. Though she was taken aback by the surprise change in appearance, Amani showed no outward reaction to it. She didn’t know how Lilanna had gotten that way, but her years as a healer had brought her face to face with gore and injury of all kinds, and those who were inflicted with the worst of it, often too had cybernetic replacements. All to say, she was desensitized to all sorts of vivid imagery, and she understood more than most that the stories behind such things were nothing to ignore simply due to one’s gut reaction.

At present, Amani was still reeling from the events that had just transpired, holding the silence between them for some time even after Lilanna asked her question. A flood of thoughts and emotions swirled in her mind until finally she calmed down enough to speak, “Just great.” Amani spoke detachedly. She stood up and paced around the room before facing her cellmate once again, her tone regressing back to one of concern, “What about you?”

Well, if there was one positive note here, it was that her captors hadn't thought to put a nullifier on her. Which meant her force abilities were at her full disposal at current. If she just had some time to gather herself, Lilanna was certain she could free the pair. But that would take time to do, her injuries still stung at her after all. Seeing that her companion was not horrified at the state of her face, she allowed herself to relax just a bit, though still avoiding direct eye contact. "I'm fine. I'm just thinking what I'm going to do to those creeps once I bust out of here." She sighed, her hand going through her short hair, clenching at her scalp. She couldn't believe she allowed this to happen. What a lousy roll of the dice.
It would be very easy to tell that she wasn't comfortable being in this situation, as Lilanna she seemed to be very defensive in her posture. The past couldn't hurt her anymore, but she recalled just how many of her injuries came from her time in the 'box' at the academy. Needless to say, she rather wanted to get out of here. Some people called it claustrophobia, she preferred the term 'dislike of small confined spaces'. Ships weren't too bad, you could move around, and there were other rooms to do...things in. In a cell however? Not so. "I can get us out of this, I just need time to focus. I'm not very good at small talk however." She explained, putting her hands together and keeping her head down. She'd rather not endure this torment in silence. "Cells make me nervous. Had a few bad experiences, as you can no doubt see, it's rather evident." She sighed, eyes looking to Amani. There was something about how she carried herself, this one. Like there was a weight on her she was desperate to throw off. Much like Lilanna had been before her escape from the Sith. "For a doctor, you were eager to throw yourself into battle. Were you a field medic perhaps?" The warden asked, her tone low, as if expecting the question to be ignored.
They could sit in silence if that was what the doctor wanted, but for Lilanna, the cell itself was already bothering her. Awkward silence wouldn't make things any better.

Amani nodded in approval. It was good to know they were both already on the same page about getting out of here as soon as possible. Maybe it went without saying, but you never know when some people were ready to just give up.

She focused on examining the details of the cell, both to pass the time and to figure out a method of escape. Lilanna’s question gave her pause, as she debated how directly to answer the question, “Well, life can get a bit messy out here. Knowing how to fight is just part of existing for some...” Amani gestured broadly to the situation they were currently in, “...But, yes. I’ve been on a few battlefields. Seen the aftermath of even more.”

Amani settled into a corner of the room, pressing herself against the sensation of the cold metal walls, “So what is it you do...?” She lingered on the end of her question, only realizing now that she didn't know her cellmate's name.

To Lilanna's relief, the doctor spoke back, prompting a sigh from her to come. She was happy to know they could talk at least, made the whole imprisonment thing easier to manage. She didn't quite believe the story of the woman, mostly because she didn't have the spirit of a fighter within her. There was a fire, certainly, but it had been snuffed out. There was a story there, but not one that Lilanna felt she would get out of the woman this day. "I can tell, there's a shadow about you. You carry something heavy, perhaps that is why you sought here? To make peace with it, or bury it. I know both, but worry not. I will not ask more of your burden." The cyborg said, her mind thinking of her own goals, her own struggles, and how to address it within herself.
Lilanna pasued for a moment a she was asked what she did, and it clicked with the woman she had yet to learn her new cellmates name as well. "I'm something called a Warden, we Serve the Eternal Empire, more peacekeepers and enforcers of the law. Much like Jedi Knights I believe, save we represent the will of the Empress, rather than any belief in a Jedi Code." She sighed, still new to the ways of her order, and not entirely knowing where she sat in this whole ordeal. "My name is Lilanna however, Anna and Lil are both acceptable as well. What of you, doctor?" She inquired, not actually sure if this woman was a doctor, but she certainly had the confidence of one. Only one way to find out.

The warden’s psychoanalysis of her past put Amani on guard, though the promise that was the last of it kept her from getting too defensive. She responded with an awkward smile, an attempt to assure there was no undue tension.

Amani had kept herself out of galactic politics for months now. That was the nice thing about much of the Outer Rim, few major governments existed out here, leaving people mostly free and independent to operate on their own terms. Though it was not without its drawbacks. Lack of oversight meant more crime, and less aid. But for her own personal desires, it served well enough to keep away from the galactic limelight.

“Amani.” She replied back. Putting a name to the face was a good step forward. “I can’t say I’m all that fond of most empires,” She spoke honestly, “The term tends to carry a bit of a… negative connotation.” Still, Amani would refrain from any judgements of her individual. They were, after all, helping out her village.

“These days I do a lot of moving around. I usually offer up my medical training in remote and low income territories, places where doctors and healthcare are typically hard to come by. Doctor is not technically the appropriate term, I don’t have a degree or anything. More of a medic or… unlicensed physician, if you want to make it sound fancy. Doesn’t stop a lot of these people from calling me doc, though.” They couldn’t care less about the terminology. She was helping, and that was all most of them needed. And really it was all she needed, too.

“I hope everyone’s still okay out there.” Her gaze fell to the cell door. All that effort, torn apart in a matter of moments.

BREAK OUT

Lil's face formed into a rare smile; though the metal strips across her face hid it well. "I've noticed. I share the sentiment." Usually the first words that came before empire were 'evil'. Funny how some things never changed, though her empire was far different from the Sith Empire. At least, that's what she chose to believe. She had walked a similar path as this Amani woman during her escape, for a time, she worked as a mercenary, but it was hard earning pay when you were considered a freak of nature by fellow freaks. Regardless, Amani had tried to do more good than Lilanna had ever considered trying. That was something to commend regardless. "You have the hands of a healer then. That is good, force knows there is too much pain plaguing this galaxy. Take pride in that. Not many can say such a thing." She sadly was among the later. Her time on Korriban had twisted her, but that was more of an excuse than anything else. When she left that place, she wanted to kill anyone that dared try to stop her. In some ways, she still hadn't changed. But, after someone detonates a grenade near your face, that tends to change a person.
"I think you have a great deal of healing still left to do, Amani." Lilanna remarked, feeling her strength sufficient enough for the next step of her plan. "Let's go see to it that they are, personally." Lilanna commented, rising to her feet, and moving towards the door. She began to focus the force around her hand, as she felt along the door, looking for the locking mechanism as she needed the upmost focus for this next part. "These fools need to learn not to underestimate the force at work." She muttered. She found what she was looking for soon after, right at the side of the door, easy enough to dispose of.
Lilanna's hand would seem to pass through the wall of the cell, and within moments, it would reemerge, with the cell door sliding open soon after. Looking to the doctor, Lilanna would give a small nod, before stepping into the corridor. Reaching out with the force, she could feel several life forms near by. She felt good about their odds of escape however, as down the hall she could sense two guards fast asleep, their weapons left unattended by their bunks; a perfect start to their escape ploy. Lilanna looked back to the green skinned woman, tapping the side of her head, and pointing towards Amani as a warning, before broadcasting her words into the woman's mind.
'Two of our captors have relieved themselves of their weapons, I suggest we rearm and show them the error of their ways.'
Ideally, this wouldn't get them killed in the next five minutes. But at least they weren't trapped in a cell at the moment.

oFmkOzR.gif

Lilanna’s reassurances were enough to bring a faint smile out of Amani. It was very much the same thought process she had. With so much wrong in the galaxy, there needed to be people willing to do something about it, no matter how small. To hear that from someone else was a pleasant comfort.

And that was exactly why they needed to get a move on from here. She refocused herself, and watched Lilanna get to work on the door. In short time, they were freed from their prison, and Amani nodded in approval, “Nicely done.”

Out in the corridor, Amani kept close to her cell mate, trusting in her more capable hands. Of the two, Lilanna was clearly the more adept warrior. The sound of a voice projected so clearly in her head startled Amani for a brief moment, though thankfully not enough to break her focus. She had gone quite some time now not having any sort of interaction with the Force or Force users, and it was a bizarre reintroduction to the sixth sense. Unable to speak in the same manner, Amani responded with a hushed whisper, “Just so we’re clear, I’m not going to kill anybody.” It was a path she couldn’t bring herself to go down again willingly.

With Lilanna’s warning, Amani made the first move, sneaking along the wall until they reached the bunks of their would be weapon-lenders. A sleeping guard was still a risk, and with silent steps, she stopped down to the level of the first guard, taking time to position herself just right for the takedown. In a single fluid motion, she whipped her arm around the guard’s throat, nearly yanking him halfway off the bed as she cut off his blood flow. Applied properly, it took only a matter of seconds for him to fall unconscious from the hold, and his sudden thrashing ceased as quickly as it started. She snatched the guard’s rifle and stood up, looking over to Lilanna for their next move.

Amani rejected the idea of killing, which Lilanna was willing to accept. She'd never pressure someone into compromising her ideas, but if need be, she wouldn't hesitate to finish one off. "Acceptable." She responded quietly, inching forward, and giving Amani the first blow. For someone who wasn't a doctor, she knew how to take down a foe, as she watched her work for half a second before she went to work on her own foe.
She started with an elbow right into the man's solar plexus, knocking the wind out of him, and causing him to double over, opening up to a devastating haymaker, and like that, the man was out. Not as efficient or surgical as Amani, but it would have to do. Giving a small nod to the woman, Lilanna retrieved the fallen man's blaster rifle. She never cared for these types of weapons, but they had little choice at current. "If you are worried about killing, I'd suggest using the 'stun' feature." She didn't reveal how she knew this, merely flicking a switch near the energy cell release. Her father had shown her it years ago when she was a young girl, often joking about how he was thankful for stun settings as it kept him from having to kill his slaves. "Follow me." She spoke, moving forward, as she held her rifle, her senses dialed up to eleven, as she moved forward.
She could feel the presence of several more guards moving towards them, though she swiftly moved into an open door, waving Amani to follow behind he. Ducking into the room, it was soon revealed to be a medical bay of some sort, that also doubled as some sort of drug production lab. Breathing a sigh of relief, Lilanna looked to the woman and shook her head. "Do you know how to fly? I think if we can get ahold of the bridge, we can use the ship weapons to repulse them. Least scare them off enough so I can call for back up." If she had her lightsaber, this would be made a heck of alot easier. But that wasn't an option. Looking to the equipment in the room, she had to ask, given the nature of their seemingly hopeless situation. "Could you make some sort of chemical to put these raiders out? Something we could flush through the vents?" Lilanna inquired, the woman trying to fathom what else they could do in this situation.

Amani fumbled with the blaster for a moment before she found the stun setting, flicking it on at the recommendation from Lilanna. She’d gained some experience with slugthrowers out here, but as far as blasters go, anything more complicated than a pistol was not her forte. But there were few other options for them right now, so the healer took what she could get.

More or less mimicking Lilanna’s movements now to avoid any mistake, Amani ducked through the door at the first signal. She quickly recognized the original purpose of the room, though it had also been bastardized into the raiders’ personal drug lab. Luckily, it was empty and they had a moment to consider their options, as few as they were.

“I’m no ace, but I can get from point A to point B,” Amani shrugged. Drifting solo pretty much mandated that you learn how to pilot a ship. Though she avoided it for as long as she possibly could by relying on hitchhiking when she started out. The next suggestion garnered a disbelieving chuckle, “Eh. I’m not much of a chemist I’m afraid. Besides, most of the stuff in here probably isn’t what I usually work with.”

She glanced around the room, taking stock of what supplies these raiders were carrying, and to her surprise, spotting something she recognized. “Well now...” The medic approached a few small canisters that laid on the floor, confirming her suspicion by checking the label. “This is an anesthetic gas. I’ve used it plenty of times for medical procedures.” It would only make sense to keep some stocked in your medical facilities in case of emergencies. Or maybe they were just repurposing it as a recreational narcotic. Or as a knockout gas for would-be victims. Whatever the case, Amani could use it against them with the latter effect. “With enough of these, we could put the crew down for a nap.” She offered a canister to Lilanna. Time to get to work.

Well, at least Amani knew how to fly. Still, that left them with a fair amount of bastards that needed to be taken care of. She began to try and work out another method to conquer this lot, until Amani motioned to a gas canister that she held. Anesthetic? Excellent. Now they just needed to reach the vents, and they'd be golden. "My implants can hold off the effects for a time, though the force should be able to protect me until then." She remarked, moving to try and find an oxygen mask for the green skinned woman to use. It was good that she had a doctor, medic, or whatever Amani had claimed to be; in spite of her implants, Lilanna was very much ignorant of medical knowledge. "You on the other hand, would benefit from this." She fished out a single oxygen mask, handing it to the woman.
Taking up a pair of canisters herself, Lilanna felt for her senses outside of the med bay, and found a rather large problem. She wasn't sure where the oxygen pump was on this rig. On the plus side, it felt that they had a rather straight shot to the pilot station. The cockpit had about four men, and she felt rather good about the pair's odds. Securing the canisters to her belt, she laid out the rather basic plan she had created about two minutes ago. "We can subdue the crew in the cockpit, find the oxygen system, and pump the ship full of this stuff." Honestly, as far as a plan it wasn't the worst she had come up with.
With Amani by her side, Lilanna would lead the woman down the corridors, slipping past whatever patrols happened to stumble along their way, until they reached the cockpit. Blaster rifle ready, Lilanna looked to Amani for confirmation before continuing. As the pair opened the door, blasters at the ready, Lilanna noticed something off. Four members of the pirate gang stood, though the one that she had pegged for as the leader, had her lightsaber hanging from his belt.
Well now it was on. There was a few seconds of hesitation, surprise on the faces of the raiders, and recognition on behalf of Lilanna.
Then all hell broke loose.
