Private Rescue Rangers

SILVER BEACON, KWENN

09jg0ab.png
Trextan Voidstalker did not look like a Jedi. In the formal sense he had stepped away from that organisation some time ago. He was still a powerful Force user with an industrial looking lightsaber at his belt.

"Kyra Perl and Acaadi Tarn didn't return from their mission," he told those who had assembled in the hangar bay. "I sensed her anguish but couldn't find them so I came here to find help from the Silver Jedi.

"They were investigating some children being abducted on Ziugen . They reported that they were Force sensitive children and then didn't check in. A Ranger on the ground thinks he's worked out where they are being held. I had to agree to take you lot for the Silver Jedi to tell me where. I'm not really...good at briefing people so any questions cos time is being wasted?"

This was one of those few times when he wished he was more like his father. Jacen had commanded whole armies. Trextan had always been a follower. Told what to do by his parents, then the Sith and then the Jedi. He was just getting use to charting his own course, not telling others where to go.

"Oh, the city is a crap hole and they're held into an abandoned distract guarded by a whole lot of Hutt enforcers so...this is going to get messy."

Vaux leaned against her red painted GF-2B. She had helped train Kyra and Acaadi to fly the older GF-2s stationed at Taanab, so when she heard about them going missing.... No. She didn't trust Jed.... Ok. She'd taken a liking to those two, and honestly wanted to get them back. Now she wasn't going to let it show, but her droid had already been pointing it out from his perch on the fighter. She rolled the chamber of her Trayc'kal, checking each cartridge over and over again. She was about to ask what they were up against when this Voidstalker guy finally said it. Hutts. Of stinking course!

"Hm. Messy. Glad my brother wasn't the one that came. I can handle messy." She slipped the weapon back in it's holster, waiting for the others to speak up.

PERSONAL EQUIPMENT: Street Clothes, Just in Case Cloak, Scope(Remote Scanning Drone)- kept on the utility belt until used, Wrist Device , Scanner, Pair of Blue Lightsabers, Slicing/Gaming Tool
SHIP: B/E-3 B-Wing Multi-role Starfighter

Phalsi came hopping up to the meeting place, her own B-Wing parked down the way and her street clothes fashioned as run of the mill street rat to be inconspicuous as possible. Even if the scanner acting as a hair band gave her away just a touch. The wrist scanner was hidden beneath a sleeve at least. The large ball on her belt also didn't help, but at least the pair of lightsabers were hidden from view in faux pant patches, waiting to be called upon with a force draw. Her silver hair fanned for a moment as she took a final hop and came into the goup. She listened quietly, a smile forming at the mention of it being an unsavory planet.

"Plan for ex-fill?" Was her only question it seemed before she tilted her head a second and spoke again a little quicker. "You all have comms? I can tie us into a private and secure signal. Bounce off some local sources to scatter it." Her hand went to a secret pocket and pulled out her slicing tool, screens chattering with noise as she dove into the mess of systems that were on the planet. The device was quickly set to silent as she worked, the series of pings and alerts making her raise her brow in surprise. Apparently the station didn't agree with her device and it's...after market modifications.

Amani stood in the back scratching her head as the others talked details. She was notably out of her element, even her ship stuck out like a sore thumb compared to the others, looking back and forth between theirs and her clunky old scout vessel. But after hearing Acaadi and Kyra might be in trouble she jumped at the chance to help.
It didn't help her feel any less nervous at the mention of the Hutt Cartel, or their apparent resignation to a violent outcome. "Do we know if their lives are in any immediate danger?" she spoke up, "I don't suppose there's any chance to negotiate our way out of this one?" Genuinely she wasn't sure how unrealistic that sounded, or how any of this was dealt with to begin with. Not keen on exposing her naivety so fully, her voice trailed off as she finished the question and moved back.

"We don't know that, no," he said to Amani Serys Amani Serys . Of the group, she seemed most concerned about the padawans. Trextan had not come prepared to lead a group into this, despite having seen far too much conflict for his age. Yet what he had truly come unprepared for was the possibility of having to console other padawans if they found that their friends were already dead. He was not a part of this group. He didn't know their dynamic, how to help them.

Violence he could do. Trextan didn't like to think that way but he had been made a jedi knight in the midst of war. His entire left arm was a series of weapons. Even his father had been unnerved by his potential in the Force.

"Set that up as a backup," he said to Phalsi Drynchen Phalsi Drynchen . "We should stay close enough for direct encrypted comm-links to work. We have two U-wing prepped. One to drop us off, another for the pickup. Now the Hutt cartel have tight control of this district so we need to be quick."

Vaux looked at the Mirialan Padawan, shaking her head. She slid her helmet on, hiding the worry on her face. Kyra and Acaadi better have been ok. She then spoke up. "You don't negotiate with Hutts kid. They're sleemos, and don't like to not keep their prizes. Hate to say it, but there's only one way to get them to negotiate." The Mandalorian pilot would then look at the U-Wings. Wouldn't be her choice, but better than nothing. She looked at the others, getting up and headed to them. "1D, keep people away from the ship. I don't wanna loose you, and it." The droid whistled as Vaux walked over to the U-Wings, ready to go.

----Ziugen----
The pilot looked out as she felt the ship exit hyperspace. Time to do one last check of things. She pulled a cartridge from her Trayc'kal, checking to be sure it was a flechette round. Better safe than sorry here. She also checked her particle shotgun. Cell was good, and she had more. She looked at the Padawans as she put her weapons in place. "I hope you've been trained well. Places like this aren't pretty."

She gave a nod to Trexten, setting the program to operate with a single press of the appropriate button. She gave another nod to affirm what she had heard. A solid plan for extraction, a worry she could remove from her mind now and focus on the task ahead as the other slid her helmet on and spoke about the Hutts. A sliver of a smile appearing at the only way to negotiate with Hutts.

Violence, or at least enough to get rid of their muscle that did their bidding at that moment.

The move to the ships was made, and Phalsi fell in quickly, pocketing the tool before giving a wide grin. The question wasn't about her sanity, so much as why the adrenaline was such a rush for her. Even as a kid she had a habit of getting into questionable situations, finding joy when trouble was on the horizon. Oh this would be as exciting as dissecting a sith cadaver.

They dropped from hyperspace, watching the pilot look their way, before giving a thumbs up with a knowing smile. A bit lacking in the assurance department given that she hadn't spoke a word, but her idea of a 'pretty' was debatable. "You can only train so much." She replied quietly, waiting for the landing portion of their trip. Her hands patted her gear in her own final check, the handband scanner getting a second pat when she doubted herself.

Amani stayed quiet until they reached Ziugen, drifting in her own thoughts with no idea of what to really expect. Closing her eyes, she made an attempt at a meditation exercise, but as per usual, nothing came of it. She gave up and fiddled with the hilt of her lightsaber, staring at it blankly with no real purpose or intent.
As the ship left hyperspace, she breathed out and spoke up again, "Got any last-minute tips for a newbie?" asking no one specifically.

"Tips? If you're not a fighter, keep behind the group. Keep your saber in a tight defensive circle. Basic movements. They might have used surprise, but they subdued two padawans already."

Trextan looked out of the window as the U-wing swung its foils forwards and landed.

"They're here," he announced. "So is trouble."

Two armed men were coming towards the shuttle quickly. Trextan walked out to meet them, arms out at his sides, palms forward.

"You can't land here this is private..."

The explanation ended as Trextan swung with his left, artificial arm. He snatched the blaster from the first and then he threw it at the other one with unnatural strength. The sound of a blaster striking a head was quite satisfying, Trextan thought.

"You're hiding two prisoners where?" Trextan asked. He turned to the group. "More are coming!"

Vaux shook her head a little when Amani asked if they had any tips. The Mandalorian would look her in the eye, as if trying to judge something behind her helmet. She then heard Trextan, nodding. "Trex here's right. One other thing though jetii'ike (Padawan). If you have any way to find your friends now the time to use it." She then walked out, catching Textran beating up the two guard. She chuckled, looking at the carnage. "Nice to see someone here who knows how to talk to these people." She then heard him call that more were coming, and pulled out her Trayc'kal before looking back at Amani and Phalsi.

"Get ready you two! Maybe this'll be fair for them." She didn't even let the first one hardly get around the corner before firing a flechette into them. "We can do this the easy way, or you can give up! Your choice!" More then rounded the corner, blasting at where the shot came from. Eh. She warned them.

Phalsi had little time to do anything more than watch with quiet awe at the accuracy of the improvised use of a blaster. Oh sure, she had seen plenty of blaster bolts slung back via lightsaber. On the other hand, had never seen someone throw the weapon and another catch that weapon in the face. The call that more guards were coming had her calling out one saber, uncomfortable in two hands due to the short length, but she made due. Wind kicked up around her, the temple an experience she was still learning from and practicing.

Her form was crouched low to the ground, the wind keeping her from falling face first running forward, as the hiss-snap of the blue saber drew the attention of some that rounded the corner. She zig-zagged between the blaster shots, closing in on two before making a wide swing and cutting one guards blaster in half while the other lost several fingers. Hadn't meant to, but things happened as the man backpedaled and yelped in pain.

The mirialan shook her head at Vaux’s idea, “Force sense maybe. But… I don’t know if I have a strong enough connection to either of them for that to work.” The tone in her voice was noticeably lacking in confidence. “At least not from here. I’ll try, though.”

Amani looked on in surprise as violence broke out almost immediately, but as more guards rounded the corner, she instinctively went on the defensive. She swung out her lightsaber, igniting it and deflecting a blaster bolt in one fluid motion, the shot ricocheting off the blade and back at the perpetrator. He reeled back, taken out of the fight, as two more appeared. The padawan shifted to hold both arms out wide and swung them back in, using the Force to make the troops collide into one another, knocking them unconscious on impact. Amani winced in vicarious pain as their skulls audibly smacked together, before returning to her guard position.

Trextan held the guard by the shirt. The grip of his phrik cybernetic arm wasn't going to be broken.

"Where are they?" Trextan demanded again. It was no good. He could see fear in the man's eyes but it wasn't about him. He knew how some of these gangs worked. Betrayal was punished with the hashest measures. He could have had family.

Keeping his grip, Trextan drew his saber and threw it towards a roof. The silver blade slashed at the edge just as several guards arrived. It sent a shower of sparks upwards, buying them some time.

Vaux practically laughed when the response to her question came more from the Padawans than the goons. The Mandalorian quickly leapt over her cover, unleashing five more flechette shots in quick secession. Shots to the chest of two more goons Vaux definitely wasn’t as careful as the teens, but she was good at this job. The pilot quickly let the empty cartridges fall as she went reload the pistol with more flechettes.

“Couldn’t have blocked the way sooner?” She then eyed the Padawans.

“Your actually doing better than I expected.”

Phalsi spared a moment of thought to the pair she had just attacked, a hand waving as the force sent them into the wall and both found themselves on the ground thereafter. A quick flash of a grin at the pilot had the padawan throwing the hood up on their capelet before dancing into the sparks, blue saber coming around as bolts shot towards her through the spray. She ducked low once more, a speedy dash and her element pulling sparks into the guards that were coming there way.

A bolt sizzled on the hood as her saber struck an arm. The next strike finding a leg as she realized disabling these men would serve them better than knocking them out. If they had to defend from the front and back, survival would be a lot harder. Never mind rescuing someone else.

"Oh, thanks!" Amani chirped at Vaux's comment. A bolt whizzed passed her, abruptly regaining her attention. The padawan had kept to the back, but moved forward some to draw more fire. If she could keep up her defense, then she could take some heat off the others and cover them.

Amani centered herself and devoted her focus to keeping shots at bay. Her movements were precise and cautious, the saber swinging with minimal effort to conserve energy. "Just how many of these guys are there?" she managed to speak up.

"That way," hissed the guard, tilting his head over his left shoulder. Trextan presumed that he thought the quiet admission meant he wouldn't suffer repercussions for giving up information.

"Get inside one of the buildings, we're too exposed here!" shouted Trextan.

He covered his face with his left arm, a transparent shield flaring into life from the rest of the artificial arm to cover his face.

"You heard the man. Come on!" Vaux would proceed to follow behind Trextan, taking full advantage of the fact that he had a shield. She would look around, waiting for them to get near the building before speaking up again, and beginning the swap out a flechette cartridge from her weapon for a new one.

"Before we just go in I'd suggest covering your ear." Vaux would then open the door putting the barrel through before pulling the trigger to release an earsplitting bang and a bright flash. She looked back at the others, simply nodding her helmet to tell them she was done with her little play.

The call to a safe spot came, and Phalsi swiped once more with the lightsaber, taking another leg before moving towards the pair. The singing of a blaster bolt being deflected away in alarm rang out Phalsi stared at a guard for a moment. Simply stared as they dropped their blaster and kicked it towards her. Shaking her head, her hand was thrown out, calling on the force to push them against the wall with force before finally reaching the pair as Vaux Gred Vaux Gred cleared the room.

It wasn't a frown, nor a smile that she gave the woman. "Well that's handy." She remarked, preparing to enter.

Amani held off fire until the rest made their way to safety. With a break in the action she sprinted over to join them, shifting to the back of the group once again. The padawan drew out a long breath, only hearing the last part of Vaux’s suggestion, “Do wha-?” Her question was cut off by the shrill bang, “Ow.”

Amani tapped her ear a few times as if it would fix her hearing, the leftover ringing sound growing fainter over time. Her unprofessionalism was a bit embarrassing to her, she just hoped the others were a bit too focused on the mission to care. Probably for the best for her to be that focused too, she thought. Amani composed herself for the next step, “Ready when you are.” she spoke a little more seriously.
