"What the hell?"

"Look at the size of it.."

"Commander, you seeing this?"

Their voices echoed out across their channel as the rangers crested the rubble, weapons at the ready, but moving cautiously. The rangers and local forces that weren't apart of his team were more hesitant to approach.

Sithspit..What is that thing?

Valkren had faced down monstrosities before, especially those created by the sith themselves. Most would not hesitate to slice through a squad of troopers, and the rangers know that. They spread out carefully across the rubble, weapons moving between being trained on the newly arrived sith, and the gap in the wall. More rangers stumbled to their feet, most were severely injured, others weren't so bad off.

Almost all of them were still ready to put up a fight.

Then, it spoke.

"I didn't spend thirteen years of my life fighting you things just to surrender to some beast!" He yelled out overtop his assault blaster, tightening his grip while watching for any movement from their newfound enemy.

The rangers watched on carefully, some of those that weren't part of his own team were more than likely trembling at the towering site, eyes on the blade that it brandished.

A Nikto soldier from the local forces stepped up to the right of Valkren, leveling a rotary cannon at her. He'd give a quick nod and say something, but Valk's attention was already back to their enemy.

"Keep your distance, avoid that blade.. If you think it's getting in range- make use of your energy bucklers." The commander's words reached his allies ears in the area via their comms, a bead of sweat dripped down his face as he stared out from behind his visor. He knew their bucklers wouldn't take a full force strike from their opponent, but it at-least gave his men the slightest chance of survival. That and the vibro-blades some carried on their hips, but even then it wouldn't put up much of a fight.

"Watch each others backs, and we'll all make it home boys.."

Valkren pressed down on the trigger, letting a stream of three bolts loose- the rest followed suit. However, with the new wall breach apparent there was no doubt of enemy soldiers pushing through. Several of the rangers had to break off and return fire if any would come curiously through. They would have to do this cautiously though, as the apparent threat of taking a massive blade to the back wasn't ideal.

The Nikto beside him began to spin up the rotary cannon when the others let loose their weapons, the smallest hint of fear in his eyes as he awaited the seemingly painfully slow process of firing his weapon.

Objective: Destroy the Jedi and massacre the civilians

  • Full-scale artillery bombardment on all of Jessica Med-Beq Jessica Med-Beq 's artillery and AA emplacements using high explosive, incendiary and chemical munitions
  • Contingent assembled for the push into the city
  • Artillery barrage upon the spaceports being used to evacuate civilians

Once again, the Imperial siege lines came under fire from enemy artillery, while more enemy bombers circled overhead. While the massive anti-air screen of the Imperial contingent lit up the sky in response and starfighters pounced upon the enemy fighters and bombers, the Empire's battle-hardened soldiers remained at their posts, unphased by the enemy assault, even as shells and crashing starfighters exploded around them. On their homeworld, they faced far worse threats every day and they overcame them with discipline and coordination. And complete, fanatical devotion to their cause.

The Imperial response was swift and brutal, in the shape of a full-scale artillery barrage upon the Jedi artillery and AA emplacements, hundreds of howitzers, mortars and missile launchers unleashing a massive bombardment upon every mortar nest, mobile artillery unit, anti-air emplacement and missile launcher who's coordinates had been triangulated and identified by long range sensors, pounding the enemy with a combination of high explosive, incendiary, ion and chemical munitions.

And the Imperial artillery didn't stop there. Adjusting their long range howitzers, the Imperials unleashed a rain of fire and explosives upon the spaceports, while the surface-to-orbit missile launchers fired at any ships trying to escape, seeking to prevent the evacuation of the city, to trap the civilians inside and seal their fate. The Emperor had promised the people of New Kalandra that there would be no quarter. His soldiers intended to make that promise come true.

As the artillery fired, almost two thousand soldiers and a third of the armored vehicles formed up into two contingents in preparation for the push into the city itself. The Imperials preferred a slow, thorough advance instead of a rapid blitz, but once the assault began, the Silver Jedi and the inhabitants of New Kalandra would find themselves facing the full, devastating force of the Eternal Empire's wrath.

Attn: WelshGuy WelshGuy

The Sith Lord's task force suddenly came under fire, some kind of explosive projectile detonating against the ATDM, followed by a volley of small-arms fire that lit up the darkness of the tunnel. "<Engineers forward,>" Tacitus ordered in the harsh language of his people, his voice booming, even through the noise of the engines and the fighting. "<Keep the ATDM advancing at all costs! All units, weapons free, return fire!>"

Equipped with helmet-mounted optics systems which allowed them to see in the dark, it took but a fraction of a second for the Imperial soldiers to locate their attackers and send a withering barrage of plasma bolts back at them. The Ultranauts sprang into action with the practiced ease of hardened veterans, taking cover between vehicles and columns and forming a defensive perimeter around the convoy. "<Flashbang out,>" a soldier shouted into the comms, pressing a button on a small, hand-held device and tossing it in the general direction of the attackers.

Flanked by his wolf-cloaked bodyguards, the Sith Lord drew and ignited his black-bladed Shroudsaber, his imposing silhouette eerily lit up by the lightsaber's unnatural glow and by the short, precise bursts of blaster fire that his bodyguards were unleashing. Sensing the presence of a Jedi Master amongst his enemies, he reached out into the coldest currents of the Darkside of the Force, seizing them into a vice-like grip, subduing them with his implacable will as he gathered his dark power for a devastating attack.

"So... The Silver Jedi finally show themselves," he said to his attackers in basic, his tone cold, deadly, promising gruesome violence. "At long last, you vile, wretched worms shall face justice for all the crimes you have committed against the Empire. Show yourself, Jedi. Come and face your fate," he demanded as he raised his terrible, clawed hand, pointing it in the general direction where he felt the Master's presence. Horrifying bolts of Force lightning, the color of midnight, leaped from his fingers, tracing jagged arcs through the darkness as they raced towards their target.

Though the lightning barrage had subsided, the Sith Emperor's energy was still present in the atmosphere around him. That power now coalesced into a tangible form, creating a barrier of shimmering incandescent energy occupying an area of space roughly three meters tall and two meters wide in front of the Emperor. The firepower levied against the Dark Lord impacted the barrier consistently, devouring the energy of the blaster bolts and absorbing the kinetic momentum of the solid ammunition that was stopped dead in their tracks against the shield's surface. The energy was transferred through the shield and into the Emperor, rejuvenating his power so long as the enemy continued to pour their violence into his siphoning conduit.
"An infantile display."
The Emperor prepared for his next assault, lightning dancing across his fingers and his forearms, but the sudden quake of rolling artillery striking the fortress put a pin in whatever he was preparing to do. He didn't even need to wait for the call from his Shadow Hand to move into action, blasting aside his surroundings as he raises his hands up towards the ceiling right as the shells fell directly onto the portion of the wall they occupied. The energy that he had collected earlier would be put to good use, funneled into a large enough shield to protect himself and Prazutis as the shells slammed down on their position. Though the ground threatened to buckle beneath their feet, their combined powers held the land they stood on together even as they fell along with the rest of the wall and were buried by rubble.
In darkness they waited, holding their position with straining muscles as the artillery volley continued to rumble and explode overhead. It wasn't until that things had quieted that they redirected their efforts to raise themselves up from their would-be tomb, Carnifex lending his strength to levitating the surviving floor beneath them while Prazutis cleared the rubble above their heads. Daylight bled through the cracks in the debris as they were cast aside, both Sith Lords finally rising up into the fresh air as the last piece of ruin was cast aside. The shield was dispelled, and the two Sith Lords launched themselves out of the open and into the twisted labyrinth of the ruined Jedi fortress.
He no longer needed the enthralled soldier, crushed and dead beneath the rubble, for the enemy had now made their location known to him. He enflamed his presence in the Force and made his being known to those soldiers that still occupied the rubble, cutting into them like a ferocious beast as he advanced on the Command Tower.
All while the Shadow Hand performed his sacred charge, for in the darkness the Sith were at their strongest.

The shield that Lanik dug into Tavlar's arm didn't cut so cleanly. Biting past the flesh and bone with a spine-curling crunch as the sharpened metal and force imbued strength behind it cut clean the armorweave under-layer and severed his arm just above the elbow and down. Pain...the pain of it all met the threshold of what Tavlar could consciously handle and then burst past it several scores over only to come back around to a frigid numbness. He reached his left hand over towards the severed flesh as he slumped against one of the durasteel supports of the trench. Unlike the cauterizing cut of a saber blade the red ichor trickled through his fingers readily, his lifeblood staining the reddish mud below.

His senses all but narrowed, though starkly conscious and awake from the combat stimulant he was all but helpless. The sounds of artillery guns and small arms fire sent a hollow ringing through his ears as he peered over the madness around him. Sith Legionnaires donning the crimson of Voyance's force and the rain-drop camouflage of Tavlar's fired off frantic volleys, cutting down militiamen before Jedi reared close and cut them down right in two with their lightsabers, eventually being overwhelmed by blaster fire themselves.

It wasn't all too long before a medic rushed to the aid of the Major General, crouching under blaster fire before he all but slid to his officer's side, planting his medical ruck unto the durasteel support with a magnetic mount. The Medic pried it open, all but frantically fishing through it as he began to treat the General's severed arm. With a fresh bacta injection to his other arm and injured leg his ability to utilize both the limbs returned within moments but nothing could be done for the greater of his wounds, not now. Just as the medic sealed the open laceration he turned to speak to his commanding officer, offering reassurances to the man before an abrupt blaster bolt shot through the exposed back of his neck.

The medic was sent slumped, his temple slamming against the durasteel support. All but suddenly 'awakening' the General twisted his body over the medic, pulling his SIF-57 free from the magnetic holster before sending three rounds down range into the chest of a militiamen, sending him into the mud. Madness reigned free over the artillery batteries within the close quarters fighting. Crawling himself up from the mud Tavlar retrieved his helmet, leaning against the ground he wiped the mud from the visor before managing to clasp it back over his head once more, the acumen HUD lighting up once more as he heaved heavy breathes, eventually pressing against the mud and wrenching himself unto his feet, finally able to set his full weight unto each leg he un-holsters his newfound side arm. With an even, cold gaze and one arm lighter he surveys the dire situation. no sight of his jedi opponent but battle raged about him still.

Peering up to see Kor Vexen's flagship hanging low in the planet's orbit he rears a ghost right arm to his face to flick the wrist coms only for no muscles to fire in the place where his right arm once more. Clenching his teeth in annoyance he crouches down once more, dodging a volley of blaster fire as he slides his way back to the medic, unclasping the wrist comms from his own severed arm ; barely caring to perceive the absurdity of the situation he flicks them to the Lord General's channel.

"Major General Tavlar reporting. Requesting support at staging point one. Jedi Ambush." He spoke, finally relaying back to his superior, speaking in his ever characteristic frigid and stoic gaze in stark contrast to the explosive chaos that surrounded him. The combat stimulant and fresh bacta doing well enough to return him to commanding shape.

That blank face only seemed to watch the cattle churn, they prepared weapons. Lirka took note of it all, she was a creature melded and shaped by violence: she lived for it. It was her art, and it fueled her bloody hedonism to no end. She had given peace a chance, in that ever uncharacteristic show of sanity. But she had learned in her long long years wandering the Galaxy, peace was never an option.

“Outstanding.”

She snarled it under her breath, coming out as a distorted growl from her helmet. With a click, her blade burned to life once again the Emerald Electro-plasma filament came to life. Her armor glistened in the unnatural flame, it was a beautiful thing to behold: in it’s own sick and twisted way. She sprung into life after he spoke, blaster bolts burning against the Duranium plate. The “Sephi’s” teeth clenched as combat-stims began to pump through her system, the adrenaline of the coming murders fueling her to that near insane state. Carnage. Glorious carnage. Despite the tumble she had just taken prior, there was no relenting. Charging forward Lirka leapt to the air, bringing her Klaive down in an arc to slice whomever she hit into two fine burning chunks. There was an unnatural precision to this Beast’s strikes, it was a dance, it was art.

Without even seeing if she had connected, the armored figure crashed. The blade swinging again, trying to slash off the legs of whomever was unfortunate enough to be so close. A cackling came from that helmet, it was enjoying this.

”Beast!? I am no Beast! I am Champion of Choah, Governor of Mandalore, Slaughterer of Men, Queen of Thustra! Death could not claim me!”

There was the briefest interlude, in that show of gladiatorial theatrics. Lirka allowed that moment to raise her Klaive to point it directly at Valkren himself. It was a challenge, a taunt, an assertion of her supreme authority compared to these mortals.

”So what hope do you have?”

And with that. The twirling of her blade continued, the dance of death could only allow the briefest of pauses.

"There you are."

Ven's icy gaze smoldered beneath his helmet as he stared out at the approaching rubble. His father's near-absolute aura exploded from the ruins of the fortress as both Carnifex and Prazutis ascended from the depths. Reports had reached the ship of his father's presence, but they were unnecessary. The Emperor did not shout orders from his throne lightyears away. No, he marched out onto the battlefield and sought out destruction. Each planet that fell beneath the empire's banner could recall in horrific clarity what Ven's father had done to their defenders. No one was safe from the touch of the Dark Lord and his shadowy cabal.

"We are approaching the remnants of Fortress Kh'aris. Where should I put the ship down?"

"Fly towards the command tower," Ven moved towards the ship's ramp as he spoke. "As we near, lower the ramp for me to depart. Once you drop me go put the ship down and reach out to the children. They need a way out of this death trap. That'll be you, H."

Already, the ramp slowly opened. Wind coursed inwards and pressed back against the former Sith as he descended the ramp. Explosions decorated the sky as the ship danced between them, racing like a speeding bullet towards the command tower. Ven could make out the small tower, though it quickly grew in size as they approached.

"What about you, master? We do not have a designated rendezvous location post-battle. Where shall I meet you?" the droid's voice cut through the wind via the commlink in Ven's helmet.

A smile stretched across the Jedi's face at that instant. He and the droid had worked together since the days of the One Sith. No one had stood beside him as long as the assassin droid had. It was a true show of friendship as far as Ven was concerned.

"There won't be a rendezvous point this time, H. Todays the day we send a message to the galaxy. Tell Cotan Sar'andor Cotan Sar'andor I'm sorry I won't be making it home."

With that, Ven stepped from the ramp into the open air. The wind whipped past him and slowed his descent. He loved the feeling of free-falling, that imminent sense of death if he made even a slight mistake. A deep breath escaped him as he pulled the force around him. It afforded his body increased durability, heightened senses, power, and speed. All of which was crucial as he made contact with the ground below. His body collided in a three-point landing that kicked up a wave of dust and dirt that was only amplified as a concussive wave of the force exploded outward. Rubble blew out in all directions, showering his surroundings. A bright orange glow emanated from the cloud of grime a dozen or so paces before Darth Carnifex Darth Carnifex . Beside it, a snow-white lightsaber ignited to beat back the shadows.

Kyra rushed off not wanting to talk about everything that happened since Life Day, Kat cursed herself for trying to talk about something personal when this was going down but she didn't know when it would be the time especially since tomorrow was never promised for a Jedi. Kat followed Kyra around the corner and saw, or felt, the death. A wave hit Kat hard, lives taken away in an instant as she dropped to a knee. It was intense, the deaths weren't stopping either as the Sith continued to slaughter more and more Silver lives. It was making it hard to breathe before Kat rose to her feet and saw the Sith Lord. Another Sith dropped from nowhere and cornered the pair of Kyra and Kat, Kat saw Acaadi approaching them as well. Things were not going well for the three of them, Kat was about to warn Kyra that sticking around was a really bad idea.

Then a really bad idea hit them. Someone fired upon the fortress, and the section that they were currently in, rubble dropped onto them and Kat watched as Kyra protected them from the worst of the rubble however, they were spread out and Kat's legs were caught under the debris. Cursing out, she felt her left leg weaken and unable to have fluid movement in the leg. For her this was a big issue, Kat's fighting was all about being graceful and hyper movement. Fear was driving in deep, Kat wasn't sure what she was going to do, using the Force Kat pushed the rock pinning her down out of the way. "Kyra! Acaadi!" She called out to her friends, they needed to get the hell out of here.

Beltran blinked, trying to focus his eyes. He didn't know how long he'd been out. It could have been seconds, or it could have been days, he had no sense of time. For a time he had floated in a formless void, a place where nothing had meaning. He'd often wondered if this was what death was like. If so, it really wasn't such a bad thing. It wasn't a good thing either. It just wasn't anything, at all.

His first indication that he was returning to the land of the living was a deep, irritating ringing in his ears. For several long moments, it drowned out all of his other senses. Then, slowly, it began to dissipate. The next thing he felt was pain. His entire body hurt, even more than usual. He tried to move, but was only met with the sound of whirring as the power-assisted frame of his armor pressed against the rocks.

It was about this time that his eyes finally began to focus enough for him to make out the flickering display of his HUD. "Feth me," He muttered as he took in the computer's damage report.
  • Chest-plate, compromised.
  • Helmet, compromised.
Blinking again, Beltran realized that passed the flickering display, he could actually see pieces of rock and debris through a large crack that split down his helmet on the right-hand side. Briefly he wondered at the force of the impact that had caused the damage. Had he not been wearing his power armor, the Lorrdian was certain that he would be well and truly dead.

Forcing his eyes to focus on the HUD once more he took in the rest of the damage.

  • Jump jets, disabled.
  • Shoulder mounted laser cannon, disabled.
  • Power assisted frame, active.
  • Primary battery at 52%.
  • Auxiliary battery at 100%
It wasn't good, but it certainly could have been worse. Next, he opened a com channel, and spoke.

"Icarus-1-1 to any station, do you copy?"

He was met with radio static interspersed with occasional muffled sounds of voices and blasterfire. He couldn't make out what any of them were staying, but the panic in their voices was evident, and growing worse by the second. Whoever the fething idiot was who ordered a strike on their own fortress was, Beltran was sure they had just lost the battle for the Silver Jedi. He knew needed to get topside, and quickly.

He activated his auxiliary power and transferred everything there was to the power-frame. He then tried once more to lift the rocks off of himself. At first, all he heard was the same whirring as the armor struggled to shift what was probably hundreds of pounds of rubble and debris. But eventually, things began to shift and Beltran found that he was able to half climb, half dig, his way to the top of the pile.

The closer he got to the surface, the more intense the sounds of battle became. The Sith were charging the breach, that much was obvious. With one final push, Beltran was able to force a small sized boulder off of him and then he was free.

Slowly, the power-suited soldier rose to his feet. Rage pounded behind Beltran's eyes as he surveyed his surroundings. His rifle was long gone, lost in the rubble and his shoulder mounted cannon had been utterly destroyed. All that remained, miraculously, was the sword on his back. Drawing it slowly, he let the cold, icy, death feeling flow into him.

Then he started forward.

The first Sith he encountered was a regular soldier who had somehow made it passed the ad hoc line that Valkren Calderon Valkren Calderon and his men had created around the breach. A single swipe of his Sith blade, aided by the increased strength of his power armor, cleaved the unfortunate nearly in half, from shoulder to the ribs of the opposite side.

Blood sprayed, coating Beltran's armor and the exposed parts of his face with gore. He was grinning now, smiling in that predatory way. Licking some of the blood from his lips, he kept moving. Though he didn't know that his friend and Commander was leading the defense, he did see the giant creature ( Lirka Ka Lirka Ka ) that they were firing at.

Now he began to run, cutting through any targets of opportunity as he moved. When he reached the Ranger line, he simply shouldered a Nikto soldier to the ground and kept running until he was directly in front of the monstrous being. He then jumped up, his power-assisted armor propelling him far higher than any humanoid of his size had any right to jump. His blood-stained face bore a snarling expression as he struck out for her with his sword.

Kyra never thought she's see a sith simply chose to walk away from her, but that was what Darth Prazutis Darth Prazutis did.

Her gaze fell to Acaadi Acaadi 's across the hall, a sense of befuddlement furrowing her brows. "Wha-" The force flashed its warning, the vision flooding her a moment too late.

She could only call out, the 'a's of Acaadi's name lost to the shrill pitch of her voice. Instinct took over. Hours of training with her mother had assured one thing. This Perl knew how to shield. She tossed her body over Kat's, a force field erupting over their heads as the walls came crumbling down. The world screamed. It rumbled. It roared.

A pressure built inside her mind as the weight of the rubble bore down on her shield. She cried out, the agony lost the cacophony around her.

And then it all went quiet.

Kyra sobbed and coughed, dust flooding her airways. She dared to uncurl from the body she laid over. As she did so rhe shield over her faltered... then flickering out entirely. The rocks above her groaned and shifted slightly, sending a small avalanche of smaller shrapnel down on her. The rocks battered against her back, rolling onto the small piece of ground the shield had carved out around her. The larger slabs settled into and arc over then, sealing them in.

Kyra could only quiver in a shocked silence, the world around them dark.

"Kyra?" Came a voice inside her mind, pulling her out of it. Judah Lesan Jr. Judah Lesan Jr. Their bond. “Where are you... show me."

A noise of distress caught in Kyra's throat, the padawan struggling for words. "I-" JJ only received darkness. That was, until Kat started to scream besides her, calling out her name. Connection with JJ ceased, sense snapping back to Kyra mind.

"Kat!" She summoned a ball of light besides her, illuminating the two dust covered padawans and the stone tomb they were concealed in. Oh. And Kat's crushed, metal leg. That was a thing too.

Kyra paled, reaching out for her. "Can you get out of it?" She uttered, her limbs shaky as she moved to assess the leg trapped by stone.

Blaster bolts from SJO allies shimmered across the molecular shielding of Cara's armor. The energy of the bolts warped around the green hexagonal plates to be absorbed, feeding her suit's systems and the shield itself. Her footfalls were resolute as she marched toward an overturned Rumbler while her hand rose to her helmet to activate its personalized sonic damper. The transport's cockpit had been crushed by a massive slab of stone and the damage dominoed into jamming the ramp. The troops inside communicated their predicament over comms, prompting Cara to maneuver to the Rumbler's location.

The enemy soldier's howl wasn't what alerted Cara to his approach but the obnoxious yellow of his armor. The bulky figure bulldozed from the right, Cara catching his hand before it could strike with a robust knife. Momentum from the collision pushed her back, her boots slipping against the bare rock of the cavern. Locked in a grapple, both she and the soldier attempted to throw the other off balance. They contested strength, her cybernetics whining as his heft bore down without respite. The echoes of the troop's broadcast rounded to her ears; enough time dedicated to play, she had a job to do. She crushed the hand holding the knife, twisting his wrist to disconnect it while forcing a knee in his gut. She pulled him forward, wrapping his good arm behind him then took the knife, still clutched in a broken hand, and lanced it through his visor. She summoned the Force, that tool of endless power and utility, then threw the crumpled body into another soldier. The Force bolstered her arms, transforming them into the weapons they were meant to be. She continued on her path.

The Rumbler looked no better than a discarded can. The side bore a cluster of dents from the fallen debris while scars pitted the outer hull from wayward acid sprays via crushed Sithspawn. Cara reached forward with the Force, sensing the soldiers inside along with the broken hydraulics of the transport's ramp. She seized its sides in an invisible grasp, peeling it away from its hinges. Torn hoses gave short bursts of hydraulic fluid as the ramp popped loose, the thick hull of metal then slung over into enemy lines across the cavern. A flurry of blaster fire exploded onto the open transport, a small group of SJO allies expecting easy targets in the wrecked Rumbler. Cara stood in front, shielding the Rumbler's opening as TSE troops prepared to exit. The blasts bled into the molecular shield and became one with it.

The former anger proved hard to resurface. It was a curious thing, since she should be all too eager to fight. But the soldiers ahead were nothing but superfluous cogs. They held little to no purpose in the blueprints of this battle. Their weapons, armors... so underwhelming compared to even the lowest foot soldier the Empire offered. She desired a challenge, someone worth the rage and bitterness she accumulated and swallowed over the years. These grunts weren't deserving of wrath.

Their assault continued as did Cara's defensive position. The troops behind her were ready. Only eight remained from the intial manifest, but they were determined to make the deaths of their squadmates count, and show loyalty to the one who saved them. They acted in unison, with two breaching behind the cover of Cara's shield in a knelt position and a troop standing behind each. Quick and precise were the red bolts that assailed the enemy.

The squad fell in line behind Cara as they all engaged the enemy head on, fighting with a mix of guerilla tactics and Imperial training that Cara thought odd yet efficient-- efficiency was admirable. Cara's duraplast knuckles tore through both flesh and metal, her arms blocking stray shots when needed and reflecting it when suitable. She watched the others around her, their obsidian armor made tan with the dust of the cavern's breached ceiling. A grenade fell between two of them flashing an almost spent timer. Before she could swat it with the Force the closest trooper kicked it, the action so boisterous that it caused them to slip and fall backward. Cara gave them a quick bump, sending them forward and back to their feet. Without skipping a beat the trooper began laying down fire upon the enemy. A good soldier.

As the skirmish wore on Cara finally grew agitated, becoming bored with the monotony of the same yellow-clad soldiers. That would soon change. A roar erupted from nearby. It wasn't the familiar howls and screeches of varied Sithspawn but an alien rumble that caught her attention. It was also the gargantuan log that was heaved from above. It was a last moment action as Cara crossed her arms over her head, the log crashing down with such force it splintered the stone beneath her feet. The log, as it turned out, was a club. The beast wielding it was of a gastly visage-- a Kintan Strider. The imbuement of Cara's arms kept them from damage, but the shockwave of the blow shivered past her shoulder joints and into her spine. Her helmet's HUD shuddered in reply as well, and Cara knew she'd be in need of a tune-up after this.

The strider reared its arm to lay down another blow. Unlike the last, Cara had enough time to meet it. Her fist and the club met with such a strike it threw both of them back. Cara's fist left an imprint on the club, the print developing a crack that rendered the primitive weapon useless. Wood splinters fell from her fingers as she held up a hand, ordering the squad to not bother engaging what was hers. They resumed their own battles as Cara closed the distance between herself and the strider.

One. Three. Six. Twelve. It was a blur of mechanized motion as the volley of punches dived into the strider's exposed abdomen. Each blow carried enough force to breach a Legionnaire's armor three times over. The strider rasped as it stumbled back, leaving Cara's arms dripping red up to the elbows. She reached up once more to place the strider's spine in a vice grip. She ripped it forward.

The battle was interesting again.

Fleeting: via Vice Admiral Imara Sentongo, Battlegroup Elidibus

The command center aboard the Rae Sloane had become a hive of activity, as the massive battlecruiser pulled way from the Elidibus's side. As the Kintan system became massively overrun by the silhouette of wedged-shaped vessels. From a distance, the battle led by Lord Admiral Denko had begun to shape quite nicely in favor of the Sith Empire, or so this was the view of Vice-Admiral Sentongo. It was decided that part of Battlegroup Elidibus would break off and lend their efforts to Lord Admiral Denko.
The Rae Sloane took point, flanked on the left and right by two Yage-class Carrier Escorts, and in battlelines surrounding the three massive vessels were swarms of smaller ships. At the count, at least fifteen Daggers and seventy-five Bolts, small, fast and durable ships that were now grouped in their Seawolf Battlepacks. "Alert Denko, we'll assist in ending this fight," Sentongo ordered with authoritative measure her jaw clenched tightly as the battlecruiser crossed the void.
At the time that the group moved they would come in from behind the Mandalorian fleet, which created a very interesting group with the Sith Armada split between Silver and Mandalorian vessels. "Acquire targeting solutions on Mandalorian Destroyer." The three heavy capital ships' gun crews worked to rotate the guns, and calibrate them for the Mandalorian Assault destroyer Kero's Kad. "Ready fighters for deployment." Another set of orders, this time, the hangars between the Sloane, Rimon, and Gage would become secondary hives of activity as they readied themselves for the battle at hand. "Begin charge on heavy weapons Longbow, Hyperion and Shortbow."
Equipped with heavier weaponry, the three capital ships begin charge on Longbows, Shortbows and any other weapons such as the Hyperions that may require time to charge. The pace of the Task Force 'Rae Sloane' would be viewed as slow for the moment, but with every kilometer crossed came with it the threat of the Seawolves that hungered for battle.

Sithspawn: Poisoners, Ravagers, Cobras, 4x Natasizi-tateks, 2x Terentasaurs

As the legionaries of the Black Talons charged towards the trench lines of the Silver Jedi forces, more of them were cut down by continued mortar and artillery fire, bombs and angry red bolts streaking out to meet them from the defenders. But they did not slow in their advance, nor did the accompanying Sithspawn. If anything, the monsters were angrier than ever, especially the Terentasaurs.

Booming, bellowing roars announced their intentions to smash themselves through and over the trench lines, crushing the emplaced tanks in their path, as they swung their bodies against the walls.

And then, to her complete and utter surprise, and everlasting amusement, she watched as shells from tanks not of the Sith assault impacted against the fortress and large chunks of it came crumbling down, dust billowing out to cover everything. While she couldn't see anything beyond a few feet in the dust cloud, her lightsaber's blade giving her some light to work with, she could still feel her wife through their bond. Fio was giving herself to the dark energies Taeli continued to gather to herself, the rush of combat and death. It was going to be a late night.

Underneath it all, she could feel the dark and hungry presence that were the Sithspawn with the Heir to the Emperor, getting ever closer to the surface. Pushing that aside, she gracefully leapt into the trench, spearing a Silver trooper through the chest with her lightsaber pike as she did so. She spun quickly, deflecting one blaster shot into the wall and unleashing a torrent of lightning to roast the two unfortunates near her.

She wanted a challenge, she wanted a Jedi to fight. A spiked tail swung overhead, smashing through ferrocrete and causing more rubble to tumble down as the wall was struck by the massive reptile Sithspawn. Not that anyone was going to notice more rubble and destruction at this point. Cobras lurked in the sky still, their tongues shooting out to ensnare and draw snipers to them for consumption.

"Keep pushing forward, we must link up with the Emperor within the ruins of their fortifications," she yelled, purple sparkles dancing around her fingers as she drove several soldiers near her insane with a simple Sith spell. She felt the hunger of her monsters, the battle lust of the Legionaries... and the dark intentions of the Sithspawn within the caverns below.

"Vornskr has breached their lower levels, what is left anyway," she remarked to Zviera even as they continued fighting down the length of trench they were in. "Divert some of Poisoners to assist her."

Dead Man Walking: Kiff Brayde Kiff Brayde

The first thing he noticed was that the fearsome Emperor Carnifex's attention seemed torn from him almost immediately. Did he seriously think the Jedi was that worthless in his mind? All the worse for him, he decided, as he began to charge him with teeth clenched in anger.

But as he drew nearer he was able to more clearly make out what had grabbed his attention so forcefully. A bunch of metalheads in powerarmor attempted to fill the Emperor full of plasma, only for their munitions to be absorbed into perhaps the most advanced application of Tutaminis he'd ever seen...the Jedi was awestruck. Even his own prowess in the skill paled in comparison.

But self-doubt was shoved aside as he continued to close the distance, shouting "Flee you idiots, you're only making him stronger!"

Unfortunately just as he was about to attempt to strike a blow on the Emperor, the ground utterly shook with power. The ceiling above them began to crack as he felt his weight thrown backwards by the buckling stone beneath, barely recovering as he looked up.

The fortress was finally falling apart under the strain of the assault...and he was caught smack dab in it.

Out of nowhere, frighteningly so, given he probably could have been stabbed in the back at any moment, another Lord appeared at the Emperor's side, immediately putting up a barrier. Unfortunately, Nik didn't have the luxury of a loyal dog begging to protect him...meaning he was in far more danger as the ceiling fell down.

Through his determination and hope he called upon the Light. Time seemed to slow as adrenaline and pure energy rushed through his veins. He could see...not see, perhaps, but feel a path out of this. With the strength the Light gave him, all he had to do was take it.

He leapt up, his foot catching on a falling rock, before hopping up to another swiftly, and another after that. A part of him felt selfish, saving his own life first before others. But he'd be able to save a grand total of no one if he was buried under an entire fortress. And so he plodded on, his thighs and calves burning as he propelled himself upwards, and upwards, and upwards...until finally he reached the last bit of stone above him. He rode it to the ground, watching the fortress fall to shambles practically in slow motion around him. It would have been beautiful, in a way...if not for the lives that were crushed by the fort's destruction. He could only hope the soldiers he'd told to leave actually took his command to heart.

Upon landing he could still feel the dark lord and his crony under the rubble as alive and kicking as ever, no surprise there...but more importantly, he could feel life trapped underneath the rubble.

He traversed to it as quickly as he could, while reporting the catastrophic collapse of the fortress to the miraculously-still-standing command tower.

"You've gotta evacuate," he began, "Sith artillery's got us. We're screwed down here!"

"Negative. The demolition of the fortress-"

And then radio silence.

"Hello!? HELLO!? Do you copy in there!?" he yelled before he groaned, almost crushing his comm unit in his hands as he returned it to his belt. As per usual, no one was willing to part with any useful information, even his own allies. Useless frakking bureaucrats in their ivory towers...if they got off this planet alive he'd have a few words with him. Though if he knew the truth of what happened in that moment, he likely would've done far worse.

His frustration was pushed back as he finally reached the lives trapped under the rubble. A huge rock was sat on top of it and wedged firmly into the rubble, immovable by conventional means, it seemed. He tried doing so himself with the aid of the Force...only to fall down hard, as he felt himself come off the initial "high" of adrenaline, tiredness taking him over once he was no longer in mortal danger.

The Jedi groaned in frustration as he simply sat there, trying to catch his breath and scanning the bleak horizon for any threats beyond the advancing horde of the Sith Legion, before calling down to the people he felt trapped underneath. Padawans, by the feel of their presence in the Force. Strong in heart, he hoped, strong enough to be alright until Nik had collected his strength.

"ANYONE IN THERE!? ARE YOU ALRIGHT!? GOING TO...to...huff...GET YOU OUT SOON!"

"INCOMING!"

Oomy dove behind whatever cover the droid could find in the few seconds he had before another barrage of Sith artillery struck the ancient fortress. The world shook around him, filling the air with dust and shrapnel as well as the the screams of allies caught in the blast. His sensors were disoriented and he took a few moments to run a quick systems diagnostics to make sure he was still functional. "Status, Green". Oomy quickly got himself back into position overlooking the invading Sith Forces making their way for the fortress. He had joined the Commando Droid forces of Kiff Brayde Kiff Brayde in an effort to support them.

Oomy looked around at the Commando Droids around him. "Status?" He yelled

One of the Commando Droids responded "We are all clear."

"Very good." Oomy said as he took a few moments to use his Sniper Rifle to pick off a few more invading Sith soldiers. Each pull of his metal finger firing a powerful green bolt through the head of an unsuspecting Sith soldier, sending their lifeless bodies tumbling into the mud. Oomy surveyed the hordes of enemy forces making their way towards the fortress noticing a black fog starting to cloak the approaching enemy forces, which made finding targets problematic.

"They are using some sort of smokescreen to cover their advance, I suggest we all switch to Infrared."

The situation was not looking good, his scanners indicated that the Sith Emperor himself was wreaking havoc inside the fortress. That combined with the endless waves of enemy reinforcements, a massive artillery presence, swarms of star fighters above and monsters and magical meat bag degenerates of all sorts running amok. It was almost enough to overload his processors. Oomy raised his master, Tyluko-Kai Kaimana Tyluko-Kai Kaimana on his comlink. "Master, I advise you get into the air as soon as possible, Sith artillery have started to target landing pads to stop civilian evacuation. May the Force be with you."

BZOOM. Another Sith soldier down.

"You didn't answer my query unit OOM-7795" said the Commando Droid nearest to Oomy. "Why are you here helping us? You are not a CIS designated unit."

Oomy looked at the droid briefly before pulling off another shot. "No, I am not. I was during the Clone Wars I was but not anymore."

The BX Unit pulled off another shot as well before looking at Oomy. "Then why are you hear with us rather than supporting the SJO Forces?"

Oomy paused for a moment and was just about to answer before heavy blaster fire started to fill the space around them. Oomy managed to look up and see a Sith TIE Fighter bearing down on them, laser cannons firing. Oomy stood up, raising his powerful sniper rifle, aiming at the incoming fighter.

BZOOM

A bolt of green smashed through the cockpit of the enemy fighter, killing the pilot and sending the craft spiraling out of control into the incoming invading army below. " I am here because our models share a common history, and also...whats wrong with helping a fellow droid?"

The BX looked at him. "I accept your logic."

Oomy nodded at the droid. "Now lets keep up the fire! We shall hold the line!"

A collective "Roger Roger!" sounded in reply

Despite Kiff's attempts to stall the enemy in their tracks, the battle seemed to continue on unabated. Sith forces swirled around those of the faltering Silver Jedi, and for a second the High Marshal stopped to consider whether or not his unorthodox action had been prudent in this situation. Through the windows of the command tower, he could see a team of Jedi and remaining Kintan 6th forces creating a haphazard line around what had used to be a portion of the Bastion, vailently defending the breach against the encroaching onslaught of the Sith Empire. The tanks that had just fired on their own base had now turned their focus back to the enemy, leashing volley after volley against the seemingly numberless foe. Now the charged-up AMT-7 antimatter cannons were beginning to join into the fray, blasting away at the approaching Sith army with blast after concussive blast. The Sith Imperial army may have tough armor, but there was few materials in the galaxy that could take on the brunt force of a charged antimatter quarrel.

"It's not enough," Kiff muttered under his breath as he pivoted on his heel back to the holodiagram of the battle. On all fronts the Sith Empire were advancing, and this battle was quickly surmounting to a simple problem of mathematics; sooner or later, the Sith Empire would overwhelm the Fortress with their sheer numbers, and by that time the battle would be lost. Precious few cards remained up the High Marshal's sleeve, and he was beginning to feel a knot of anxiety creep into his stomach. "Lieutenant, report on the Bastion. How's our good ol' Sith Emperor doing?" he asked, his humorous choice of words contrasting sharply with his mirthless tone.

"High Marshal. . . s-sir. . . he's still alive. And he's coming," the Twi'lek lieutenant said, barely louder than a whisper yet clear enough for Kiff to hear over the roar of the battle surrounding the command tower.

For the first time that day, Kiff's eyes widened with fear. It couldn't be. No one could survive a volley from an entire armor squadron at point blank range. Whether or not the Sith was alive or not, the holodiagram wouldn't be able to show it now that all of the security systems in that area were buried under a pile of rubble. Instead, Kiff turned back towards the massive window of the command tower -- and found that he wouldn't need the holodiagram anyways. Even at that distance, Kiff could clearly make out the thing that was now approaching the command tower, escorted by some lacky of an equally dark nature.

Behind him, he could make out the faint sound of someone in New Kalandra ordering Kh'aris to send reinforcements to help evacuate the citizens of the city. Kiff couldn't help but smile grimly at the irony of the situation; the city reaching out to the fortress for help when half the fortress was currently a a heaping pile of rubble. Turning back to the Twi'lek who still stood there silently, waiting for her orders, Kiff gave a defeated shrug. "See what ships we have in the hangars, but there's nothing we can do," he stated as he slowly backed away from the window. "And if you have a blaster pistol, Lieutenant, I suggest you draw it. We may have some visitors soon."

It was a bright ping from the tower's communications system that drew the High Marshal's attention away from his impending doom. A blue light flashed with a requested communication ping, and reluctantly Kiff nodded for the Lieutenant to accept it. They were about to die anyways, and one holocall wouldn't change that. Shrugging a headset on over her lekku, the Twi'lek listened for a couple of seconds before throwing it off and turning to Kiff with a look of excitement on her face -- a totally not-appropriate expression for this situation, and now the second thing to genuinely surprise the High Marshal that day. "High Marshal," she said with her face a mixture of excitement and relief, "the slicer droids got through. We're out of the communications jam."

Kiff's expression slowly turned into a smile. He had been wrong; one holocall did change everything, or at the very least it meant that the Silver Jedi Order still might have a fighting chance. "Get me a secure connection to Bassadro Sector Command on Fondor, and reroute the transmission to my personal commlink. Once you've done that," he said, drawing his pistol and punching a few buttons to open the turbolift hatch, "we're going to try our best not to get killed."

The Twi'lek nodded and busied herself at the communications console while Kiff turned to the two Commando Droids, who had stood almost completely stationless throughout the entire ordeal. "Status report on the squad?" he asked as he checked his pistol for any potential malfunctions.

"One unit was destroyed in the collapse of the Bastion, and another is reporting that a single B1 Unit with an advanced cerebral processor but no registration within the Defense Force is currently taking a sniper position and has declared intent to assist our squad unit. Another unit has reported that a member of the Silver Jedi Order is currently engaging the Sith Emperor -- security protocol dictates that a distraction is an optimal time to escort you to safety, sir," the captain said, completely monotone in its delivery with no facial expression to match it.

Kiff nodded. A B1 Unit operating outside of the Confederacy was something interesting, no doubt, but there were more pressing matters at hand. A sudden beep from his commlink secured around his wrist told him that he was now connected to the Fortress's communications system. Looking over at the Twi'lek, she nodded in confirmation before setting down the headset for the second time, drawing her pistol and following the High Marshal into the turbolift. As the doors closed around them Kiff pressed a few buttons on the commlink before a familiar face appeared on his screen, that of Commander Jol, Kiff's longtime friend and second-in-command. Jol was wearing a fine-pressed officer's uniform, his white beard recently trimmed his hair tucked under a ceremonial cap. "High Marshal. I trust that your visit is going well?" he asked, reminding Kiff that Jol -- and the rest of the galaxy -- was oblivious to the Sith's sudden attack.

"Yeah. . . about that. I don't have much time to explain, but essentially the Sith Empire is trying to take over the planet. I need you to get whatever forces you have at Fondor and send them to Kintan immediately, and it would be nice if you could throw in some droids as well."

"You're -- the Sith -- what?" Jol had become suddenly flustered at Kiff's rather sped-up retelling of details.

"I'll explain more later. Just do it, Jol -- that's an order," Kiff replied with a hint of firmness..

"Well. . . very well, Kiff, I'll see what I can do. Do your best not to die while you're waiting," Jol concluded with a slight chuckle before closing out the holotransmission. Kiff signaled for the rest of his commando droid escort to fall back to his position before pulling the sleeve of his field coat back over his sleeve, gripping his pistol as he did so. The turbolift car came to a halt as it finished its descent, and the doors opened to the bright, dusty light of the Kintan battlefield. He turned towards the Twi'lek, pulling a small datachip out of his pocket and placing it in the palm of her hand. "If something happens to me, this will get you past the CIS encryption codes and to the incoming fleet. If some lucky blaster bolt kills me, then it will be up to you to direct the ground reinforcements." The Twi'lek nodded, slightly apprehensive, and Kiff gave her a reassuring clap to the shoulder. "Hey, it's only war. It can't be all that bad," he said with a hint of his rogueish grin as he turned to face the raging battle in front of him.

Violet eyes studied the angry man as he ranted and raved about her cruelty, her expression now dull and without the intensity that the pain that beat from the base of her skull to her forehead filled her with. He was so animate, so open for his disapproval of the child's murder, but she knew that had he been in her shoes that his choice would have been the crueler one. She opened the closed fist, the one that she had murdered the little girl with, and gestured for him to stop - her brow tightening to indicate something between irritation and frustration. "We were all children, once, Master Jedi." She said with an air of finality, her words implying much more than needed to be put into words - words that she proceeded to voice anyways, to satiate the demands of one Jedi without an ounce of foresight.

"None of us come into war without a reason, not the greatest champions of the light or the most terrible demons of the night. All of us are exposed to violence, to loss, to war in some way." Braith explained, lowering her hand back to her side. "A child that is exposed to that terror first-hand and survives that trauma is given what is called resolve - I am sure you know what that is, the Jedi Order of all its countless shapes and sizes have tried to instill that feeling into its Jedi from the moment they discovered the darker side of the force. That resolve will be with them for the rest of their lives, ruining whatever chances they have for a life of normalcy, and eventually, in a galaxy as chaotic as ours, they will find themselves armed, whether it is by accident or with purpose." She continued, unclipping the lightsaber at her hip with her left hand.

"You ask yourself, now, why I did not do what so many of my contemporaries would do and take them as my apprentice? An answer as blunt as the stone that crushed that child would do the same to their hyper-inflated egos. The dark side is a gate to great power, and in many cases, a path to revenge. While you may believe the Sith wish to spread the dark side to everything that lives, that breathes, the opposite is true of the highest of our order - if I were to take them as my apprentice they would have betrayed me when they felt capable, resulting in a death postponed. Would that have been suitable to your morality, Master Jedi? Of course not. Your only desire would be for me to have left her behind, to live in the slums and grow resentful for our Empire after we cut off the heads of every last Jedi Master in this city and leave them as a reminder to the rest of the galaxy that there is no light bright enough to pierce the darkness."

"I was deployed as the sole wielder of the force in my squadron because I have the gift of sight, I see glimpses of possibilities and I follow the path of greatest certainty to keep myself on top. Your innocent little child had already swayed the balance of her future in the direction of rebellion and betrayal. I cut that future short, just as I will cut the future of your Order short in the years to come." She explained
, igniting one end of her lightsaber, which appeared to be a saberstaff, and gestured with a nod to her weapon. "I suppose this is where you ignore the obvious superiority you can feel in the force within me and we engage in a duel of skill where you will inevitably lose, and you will die a martyr."

"Or you can flee, cowardly and meek, in search of another child to save to make up for this failure of yours."

She smiled.

The sudden shockwave sent the small Kushiban off his feet while he was in mid run. He heard the General's orders to breach. He quickly picked himself up and dusted his uniform once again. He took a moment to pause letting troopers run past him. One of his own jogged up to the small officer. Tekkio was still swiping his paws over his uniform when more dust fell from above, coming down into a rather small pile that outlined his form. He paused took a breath and then, rather roughly, shook out his fur, ears flapping and tail wagging, the uniform came mostly undone. Now rustled, both in the mood sense and physical sense Tekkio no longer cared about the uniform. He hastily walked in the direction of where the others charged. All the while the soldier was watching.

"So... sir." The soldier said jogging walking with Tekkio. "Still want to leave the suit behind?" He said over comms. "Cut the chatter!" Ordered the female officer. "Lieutenant, the diggers have surfaced, though I think you might wanna see this. We found some sort of power source, could power the Shield Generator, as well as the rest of the base." Tekkio paused and looked up at the soldier who was following him. "Where are they?" Tekkio asked the soldier without comms. The soldier pulled up his hud and looked around until he saw the energy signatures of the rest of the team, most of which was gathered at the far side of the cavern. He pointed "That way sir, a good jog, few hundred meters." Tekkio started walking in their direction. "Set our explosives. If this power source will take out the Generator, we could see an early lift. Anyone injured?" The response came back was long a few minutes. "Nothing serious, a few blows to equipment but we can still carry on. I cant say the same for other forces, and it seems the General is moving out. We better hurry sir, lest the Silvers show up while we are down here."

The small Kushiban pulled his hand from the comms and started to run on all fours. The soldier following him had to full on sprint, but he was used to following the Lieutenant around this way. Tekkio was fast, he had to be. Being fast was what kept him alive on Kushibah, it was what aced him training in the special forces. Being fast was the only reason he was accepted in the military.

Tekkio's ran slowed to a jog as he leapt to jogging on two paws. Nine other soldiers was gathered around a large shaft, with machinery on it. Readings that indicated power source. There was a nod from him as soldiers continued planting explosives, some of which was gathered on the way to this point. Tekkio postured himself and put his hand paws behind his back, cupping them together. Tail swayed as he watched his team go to work.

The Repulsortank came to a halt. Aerarii took a deep breath to try and settle his racing pulse. So far, so good. Without major incident, he and his four Sith Legion escorts had moved deep into New Kalandra, avoiding both the invading Sith-Imperial forces and the fading pockets of Jedi-led resistance. Now it was time to talk to the locals - or bribe them - into rejecting the Jedi and pledging their loyalty to the Emperor. Finally, something the bureaucrat the comfortable with.

The Treasurer-General moved forward through the Repulsortank and stuck his head into the command cabin. “I take it we’re here.”

The vehicle commander shook his - her? - head. It was impossible to tell under their heavy armour. “Not quite sir. We have friendlies ahead, requesting support.”

Aerarii’s face dropped. “No. No no no, we can’t possibly.” This was the last thing he needed at the moment. He’d avoided combat so far - no small feat given that Kintan was an active war zone - and he wasn’t able to risk his neck now. “No, they’ll be fine I’m sure, the Legion are experts, they train for this. Yes, let’s not get in the way, I’m sure there’s another unit nearby.”

The vehicle commander turned in his - her? - seat and studied the Sith Treasury official, with the co-pilot and two gunners following suite. With they remained silent and their faces were hidden under intimidating helmets, it was clear that they disagreed strongly with his assessment of the situation.

He signed. “Well, who is it then?”

“H Company sir, forward recon element. They’ve encountered light resistance.”

“Fine, we’re in an armoured war machine. I’m sure we can handle light resistance. Put them on.”

The co-pilot worked their control panel and opened a hololnet transmission to commander of the recon element, Sergeant Karina Lowe.

“You’re on sir. They report only one Jedi…”

ONE JEDI! Aerarii coughed as he felt his throat tighten. An armed Jedi, despite what the Sith Legion may think, was not his definition of light resistance. The bureaucrat glared at the back of the vehicle commander’s helmet, his blood equal parts boiling with anger and chilling fear. He took a second to recover before he spoke to the holoprojector.

“This is Treasurer-General Tithe, we’re coming up on your position. I, umm, I hear you’re looking for support. If not, you, umm, you let us know. We’d hate to get in the way.”

The vehicle commander shook his – her? – head in exasperation.

Vexen would stand in place as he held his hand raised, a blank blue projection fritzing in and out of existence as he received no response from the Major General. He'd clench his fist as he terminated the channel and lowered his hand to the side as he glanced around. Would it have surprised him if the Major General had perished in battle? Not in the slightest. If he was incapable of surviving such a trivial battle then he was better off dead as he was of no use to Vexen. The weak will perish while the strong thrive; that was Vexen's philosophy, and he had little patience for the incapable as his subordinates.
It did raise the question of who would have done the deed though, to which Vexen was mildly interested; Perhaps someone worth his time. With that in mind he would activate his comms as he spoke to the officers monitoring and maintaining communications, " Inform me of Tavlar's last known position. " A swift response was delivered as they informed the Lord General that they were unable to reach him. Vexen would turn to the coordinates he was given as he proceeded to march through the ruined city, lightsaber in hand.
----
A few blocks over...
Jedi troops frantically attempting to evacuate civilians and pull them away from the advancing battle lines would find themselves escorting men, women, and children out in the open, trying to reach evac shuttles while buildings burned and artillery exploded, sending bloody giblets flying all over the street as defensive positions were shelled out. One of the soldiers would wave his hand as he directed the civilians to cover, only for a blaster bolt to fly out from the rooftop and strike him in the face, his back hitting the wall as his faceless head slumped forward and his body fell. Suddenly several Dragoons would fly out from the rooftops as they descended with blasters blazing, picking off the Jedi troops in a timely manner as their shields absorbed any fire that might come their way.
The crowd of civilians would start to herd up as they were being closed in on by the Dragoons that surrounded them, though they made no move to threaten them with raised weapons. A pair of children would break away from the group as they made a break for a gap between Dragoons running into an alley only to bump into a Dragoon, whos visor glowed red and stared down at them. They seemed to shrink back in fear as the Dragoon took a step forward, a hissing sound heard as their faceplate slid away to reveal a woman with blonde hair and blue eyes, kneeling down as she stowed her blaster away, " It's alright. We're not going to hurt you. " She'd hold a hand out, though the children were obviously apprehensive. The sight of a woman's face, however, seemed to lull them into a sense of security as she picked each of them up in her arms and carried her out into the alleway where the other Dragoons and the civilians were, the people still a bit on edge but seeming to have believed the Dragoons were not here to hurt them.
The woman would speak as she addressed the people, " Citizens, we are not here to harm you. We are taking you into custody and escorting you to the arena which we have secured. It will be protected and no harm will come to you while you are under our protection. The Jedi have bombed your homes in an attempt to fight back, endangering your lives with little regard for your safety. We are not here for you, merely the Jedi military forces present on the planet. I assure you that you will be protected and cared for - The Jedi wish to endanger you, the Empire seeks to protect you. Anyone who is injured will receive medical aid immediately and food and water will be dispensed. " She'd speak with confidence and sincerity, making her words seem genuine though in reality, she was lying to them all. The citizens would comply as the Dragoons escorted them towards the Arena. Similar situations would happen in areas all over the city where Vexen's Dragoons and Nightseers were intercepting evacuation parties and leading the people to believe that the Sith Empire wished them no harm, merely the Jedi combatants that posed a threat.
---
Vexen would continue through the streets, dispatching any Silver Jedi or soldier that came in his path with no hesitation, moving at the same methodical pace he had been going at since he arrived. He'd pause as his comm crackled to life, the voice of Tavlar being heard. So the Major General had not been terminated though it did raise the question of why he did not respond sooner.
This is just a post done in between as means of passing time and keeping things going so as to prevent complete stagnation. As such no advancement in large scale actions was taken apart from interception of evacuation parties while I wait for a response from my opponent in the story.

The sheer amount of support from fighter squadrons coming into ensure safe passage into the ship's hangar was staggering, as he began to notice them come forth. As fighters exploded and their fragments scattered across the vacuum, he could only muse at how this was the accompaniment the greatest Sith in the universe deserved for his efforts in decimating the Mandalorian rebel fleet led by Mig Gred Mig Gred . Of course, he was oblivious that the accompaniment was actually Darth Athora Darth Athora coming to board the very same flagship he was. But for now, it certainly boosted the morale of both him and his men as they swung up into the hangar of the Kero's Kad, Nitrogen landing in such a way as to protect the gunship from enemy fire; it was their main evac strategy, and it'd be further protected by its shield generator, left on after the entire squadron of marines had exited the craft.

As Nitrogen flipped out of his fighter and ignited his crimson saber, blaster fire from the marines' Autokrators lighted up the area, together wiping out any potential resistance in the hangar itself from errant pilots and security staff. The last thing they needed was some brave imbecile to come up behind them while Nitro was taking point.

The efficient executions having been carried out before proceeding, they kept it moving as quickly as they could, Nitro providing a screen of shielding with his saber as they advanced down the perilous halls of the Kero's Kad with a singular goal in mind: taking the bridge.
