Out of Character Information:
Intent: To create a remote controlled scanning drone capable of extending the range and usefulness of the OS-106 “Oracle” Portable HUD/Scanning Device.

Canon Link: N/A
Restricted Missions: N/A
Primary Source: N/A

Production Information:
Manufacturer: Obsidian Star Technologies
Model: OS-107
Affiliation: Obsidian Star Technologies, Closed-Market
Modularity: Yes, designed to work in conjunction with OS-106 “Oracle” Portable HUD/Scanning Device and/or the OS-103 “Whisper” Armor Helmet HUD/scanning device. It can also be connected to the one of OS-103’s connection ports for storage/recharging.
Production: Minor
Material: Durasteel, scanning components, micro-repulorlifts, circuitry, micro-power cell

Special Features:
· The OS-107 is a remote controlled scanning drone designed to be controlled using the OS-106 Oracle HUD/Scanning Device or OS-103 Helmet HUD/Scanning Device
· It uses micro-repulsorlift technology to float through the air at a maximum speed of 5 kilometers per hour and can relay information back to the scanning device at a range of 500 meters
· While active, the drone can provide visual and scanning data back to the OS-106/OS-103 HUD/scanning devices.
· The drone can scan for unmasked life signs, unshielded power sources/weapons systems, radiation as well as provide normal-light, low-light, night-vision and infrared/thermal visual data for a radius of 100 meters around the drone’s position.
· The drone’s visual feed can also be zoomed in and out with roughly the same effectiveness as a standard pair of macro-binoculars
· Only one drone can be paired with any one scanning device at any given time

Strengths:

· Small and silent: The scanning drone is quite small, approximately the size of an average human’s fist and operates in complete silence, making it difficult to notice visually (can be detected via scanners)
· Versatile and increased range: The OS-107 provides the user with all the same scanning abilities as the OS-106 Oracle Portable HUD/Scanning Device and OS-103 Helmet HUD/Scanning Device but allows for the user to increase the effective range to 100 meters around the drone, with the maximum range of the drone being 500 meters from the parent scanning device.

Weaknesses:

· Slow: The OS-107 operates at a maximum speed of 5km an hour, the pace of a brisk walk.
· Delicate: The scanning drone itself is rather delicate and can be destroyed quite easily by any grade weapons fire and most melee strikes.
· Unshielded: Though small, silent and difficult to see, the drone possesses no shielding, which means that it can be easily picked up by most scanning devices and sensors.
· Low-Power Scanning: The device uses low power, passive scans that, in addition to limited the range, make it very difficult for it to break through electronic countermeasures. The vast majority of modern jamming technology will render this device completely ineffective.
