Darth Tacitus is a 1.84 meters tall white male with metallic-looking, silver hair which flows down to his shoulders and cat-like, slitted eyes that are tinted gold by Darkside corruption and which seem to glow with an inner light. Warped by the ritual which brought him back from the dead, his hands end in sharp, vicious talons that can tear a man apart. Constant exercise and a lifetime spent on some of the galaxy's most horrible battlefields, have kept him in a good physical shape. He has numerous scars who's origins are unknown, most notable of which is the one running down the left side of his face, over his eyebrow.

A military man, Darth Tacitus will most often be seen wearing a military uniform, which he grooms meticulously so as to be immaculate. Additionally, a recognizable feature of his wardrobe, is the barbaric-looking winter cloak that he wears, with fur padding around the shoulders and fastened together by a pair of heavy leather belts.

  • Sharp Senses (+): As a result of the ritual which brought him back from the dead, his senses are now sharper, especially his eyesight, which has improved to the point where he is now able to see very well, even in almost pitch-black darkness
  • Calculated (+): Kainan is a calculated individual who carefully manages his reputation and the people around him, always plotting several moves ahead before he takes a step
  • Loyal (+): Wolfe is devoted towards those in his service and makes a point of keeping his promises towards them
  • Iron Will (+): Wolfe has a very strong will, which gives him greater resistance to mind-altering Force powers
  • Regenerative Necromancy (+): As a result of an Anubian resurrection ritual, Kainan has gained an uncanny ability to heal, even from injuries which would normally kill a man. He will never die of disease, or old age as long as he is able to absorb demon souls and although he can be killed if sufficient trauma is inflicted, he will eventually regenerate if his body isn't torn to pieces or otherwise disintegrated.
  • Ambitious (+/-): Wolfe is an ambitious man, always grasping for power, always reaching for greater heights. This can be both a blessing and a curse
  • Unscrupulous (-): Kainan Wolfe will do whatever is necessary to achieve his goals, with no consideration towards the wellbeing of others, except for those close to him and the people of the nation which he serves
  • Fanatical (-): Wolfe is driven by an unflinching faith in his beliefs. He is a fanatic who is fully committed to what he believes in and will not be swayed from his path
  • Vindictive (-): Wolfe is a man who never forgets a slight committed against him and will hatch bitter revenge plans against those whom he considers that have wronged him
  • Introverted (-): Wolfe is a man who keeps his cards close to his chest and the people around him at arm's length. It is very hard to gain his trust and consequently, he has very few friends
  • Soulbound (-): A consequence of the ritual which resurrected him, Kainan is now soulbound to the Netherworld. In addition to feeling constant pain and cold, he also struggles against an ever-present urge to kill and inflict pain upon others

Although born on Serenno as Aldus Malvern, a son of the planet's wealthy ruling family, he was raised on the Core Worlds during the reign of the One Sith Empire. He spent most of his childhood as a nameless slave and later on, a gladiator who fought and killed for the amusement of his owners, eventually being given the name Kainan Wolfe as his gladiatorial prowess grew. Surviving these hellish conditions until the age of fifteen, Wolfe eventually fell in love with his Sith owner's apprentice, a girl who went by the name of Kamira and the two successfully conspired to kill him, subsequently fleeing the wrath of the Sith. The two drifted around for a few years, finding shelter in the anonymity of the galaxy's underworld of nameless refugees, petty criminals and street urchins. Wolfe's innate talent with machinery and Kamira's training in the Force, eventually led them to joining a group of pirates that operated around the Outer Rim, although they only spent seven months with the crew, before being arrested during a failed smuggling run and spending five years in a juvenile correctional facility, while Kamira was accidentally killed by the Jedi Knight who carried out the arrest.

After his release, he disappeared back into the woodwork, only to resurface again at the age of twenty-three as a smuggler and mercenary, running an increasingly better organized group of criminals and misfits out of his first ship, the Final Verdict, a light cruiser/carrier built from the repurposed hull of a derelict Interdictor-class cruiser that he most likely found abandoned, somewhere in deep space. After that, the details start to get more blurry, as the various tales of his alleged exploits started floating around, tales which include the supposed theft of a holocron from a hidden Sith stronghold, that was, supposedly, subsequently sold to a mysterious buyer and the single-handed destruction of one of the First Order's Star Destroyers by apparently ramming a damaged starfighter into it and ejecting just in time before the collision. Once he resurfaced, he had begun doing various jobs for individuals and organizations connected to the Dominion and it is speculated that he intended to join its ranks, before the fateful war of Krayiss II, which sealed its fate.

During the invasion of Krayiss II by the forces of the Sith Empire, Kainan Wolfe and his ship participated in the battle of Krayiss II, where it is known that he confronted Darth Carnifex, the Dark Lord of the Sith at the time, shortly after being forced to mount a hasty retreat, following the Sith Lord's devastating counterattack.

After the conclusion of the invasion, Wolfe followed the retreating survivors to Ession, where during the confusion that ensued from the collapse of the Dominion's leadership, Wolfe seized command of a portion of the Dominion fleet and organized a hasty, but ordered evacuation and retreat. Having assembled a fleet of military and civilian vessels, Wolfe chose to set on the path to building a nation out of the battered and fleeing remains of the Dominion. As such, rather than immediately flee and seek sanctuary within the territory of one of the other nations in the galaxy, Wolfe gave the order to take his ragtag fleet to the former Dominion planet of Lorrd, to pick up additional troops and refugees, as well as to seize any available resources. It is presumed that he had his first lightsaber constructed in secret during the journey to Lorrd, although the weapon's origins are unknown. Wolfe himself has never disclosed this tale.

Following the evacuation from the Dominion, details once again start to become blurry. For roughly two years, Wolfe led the ragtag fleet of refugees around the galaxy, in search of a new world to settle. It was around this time that Wolfe's own Force sensitivity surfaced, which began his gradual descent into darkness, as his various plots for revenge and grand schemes for the galaxy, pushed him to study the ways of the Darkside. It was also around this time that the feud between Wolfe and the Dominion's former ruler, Adron Malvern, began, a result of the latter's attempt to force Wolfe to surrender to the Galactic Empire.

Harassed by Adron's forces, the fleet under Wolfe's command proceeded to rove the galaxy, slowly but gradually gaining a reputation for ferocity and viciousness. This growing fleet would become involved in the crisis known as the Contingency, joining the rest of the galaxy early on in resistance against the genocidal Shards.

Wolfe and his fleet would later resurface in Wild Space, where, having allied themselves with the forces under the control of Mythos, God-King of the Ancient Eye, began an aggressive military campaign which started with the conquest of Nibelungen, followed by several other worlds. After gaining a foothold for his people, Wolfe then drastically expanded the resources at his disposal. Despite initial opposition, the Ancient Eye and Wolfe's people managed to maintain their grip on their territory and Wolfe would use the opportunity to secretly expand his military, away from the prying eyes of the galaxy.

It was also during this time that Tacitus became acquainted with Srina Talon, apprentice of Darth Metus, the leader of the Confederacy, forming a long-lasting friendship with the Echani which would contribute to his people's alliance with her master's government.

What followed next, was the result of several years of planning, finally coming to fruition. Having allied themselves with the Confederacy of Independent Systems, the Ancient Eye and Wolfe's forces, at that point known as the Republic of Winter, or the Shrouded Republic, participated in the invasion of Tatooine, where Wolfe led the largest fleet he had fielded up to that point, in spite of injuries sustained during a fight with an insurgent Jedi Master at Tund, a fleet comprised of powerful warships, having Wolfe's then-new flagship, a massive battlecruiser called the Invictus, at its center.

Following the battle of Tatooine, Wolfe finally proceeded to proclaim himself a Sith Lord, taking the name of Darth Tacitus, thus taking one more step along his descent into the Darkside, subsequently withdrawing back into Wild Space, where he would remain until the fall of the Ancient Eye during the fateful events surrounding the fall of the Ancient Eye, that would later become known as the Exodus. With the Ancient Eye descending into civil war over control of the faction, between the various warlords and cults, the recently ascended Tacitus attempted to restore order by forcing a peace between the various warring groups, unfortunately a rebellion backed by the New Republic and Silver Jedi Order, with partial involvement by the Outer Rim Coalition, would finally seal the fate of the Ancient Eye, which subsequently collapsed.

gGb0ZPI.png
Unbeknownst to the various organizations and governments which were supporting it, the rebellion was being controlled by a fanatical group of fallen Jedi known as the Hand of Light, which subsequently proceeded to inflict upon Tacitus' nation the greatest of the many atrocities it had already suffered: the genocide of almost half of its population, which would subsequently leave a permanent scar upon the already broken nation, forcing the survivors to once again take to the stars, this time settling on Nelvaan, within the Confederacy of Independent Systems. It is also around this time that Tacitus would finally complete his descent into the Darkside, his body becoming altered by a Necromantic ritual used to resurrect him in the wake of fatal injuries received during the final days of the Exodus.

During the years spent within the Confederacy, Tacitus and his people grew ever more militaristic, fanatical and warlike, participating in numerous military conflicts and gradually becoming more and more infamous for the utter devastation the Sith Lord and his armies left in their wake, such as the use of undead creatures during the fall of Coruscant, shedding the last remaining vestiges of democracy and assuming the mantle of Eternal Emperor. During the fall of Coruscant, Tacitus would once again confront Darth Carnifex and his most powerful Sith followers, being defeated a second time when he was infamously thrown off the roof of the Jedi temple by a Force Storm summoned by the followers of Carnifex.

Later, during Confederacy's war against the Jen'ari Empire, Tacitus and his armies would show their viciousness, massacring millions of civilians and once again unleashing undead creatures, this time upon the population of Copero as the Sith Lord and his armies carved a bloody path through the world's capital city, his forces famously sweeping the city building-by-building, hunting down and killing as many civilians as they could find.

The series of events which led to Tacitus' defection from the Confederacy, began during the battle of Eshan, when Tacitus famously sacrificed his own life in order to destroy the wreck of a Star Destroyer which was about to crash onto the city. Presuming him dead, his people began falling apart without his leadership and the remnants of his planet's government hatched a plot to give the Nelvaanians an enemy to fight, in order to strengthen their nation's unity and prevent the collapse of their society. Staging a false flag attack upon the Confederacy and pinning the blame on the New Republic in order to exact vengeance for its support of the Hand of Light during the Exodus, Tacitus' followers thus provoked a war which the Sith Lord, having by now been resurrected and being held prisoner by the Sith Empire, was unable to prevent.

Resurfacing on the cusp of the battle of Kuat, Tacitus thus decided to go along with the plot, seeing no other way to avoid exposing his people's actions and thus prevent a devastating civil war. Unfortunately, despite his explicit order, Srina Talon was severely injured during this battle, which caused her to lose her pregnancy and starting a chain of events that would subsequently drive a wedge between the Confederacy and the dissatisfied Sith Lord.

After that, the Confederacy's policies became more and more detrimental to the Sith Lord's people, forcing them into a war with the Mandalorians over Tanaab, on behalf of his old enemies from the Silver Jedi Order, a battle during which Tacitus' troops were forbidden to utilize their usual tactic of massive artillery barrages, thus forcing him to use methods which were far more costly in terms of casualties for his army, the Sith Lord becoming disillusioned with the Confederate leadership, whom he developed a grudge against over what he perceived as the unnecessary sacrifice of his soldiers' lives, because the Silver Jedi and some elements of the Confederate government scoffed at his preferred tactics, seeing this decision as one to throw his people's lives away for the sake of preserving the lives of enemy civilians, merely so as to not offend the sensibilities of the Confederacy's Jedi allies.

OfItgK1.png
Thus, the Sith Lord gradually withdrew from Confederate politics, hatching a contingency plan for what he now believed would be the inevitable secession of his people from the Confederacy, a plan to gradually expand his people's numbers and presence on the world of Kalidan, which his forces had secretly colonized a decade prior. It was by mere coincidence that around this same time, the Hand of Light had also resurfaced, setting into motion its own plot against Tacitus to remove him from power on Nelvaan and complete the purge they had started on Nibelungen, so many years before. It was then that Tacitus ordered his forces to scatter and disperse, while he worked to undo the coup that had taken place on his planet with the assistance of several corrupt Viceroys.

Seeking allies against the coalition which had removed him from power on Nelvaan, Tacitus reached out to Vyra Silara, then Viceroy of Relovian and although she was unable to openly support his cause, the two agreed to stay in touch and the Sith Lord returned his attention towards retaking Nelvaan by force.

Tacitus' retaliation against this attempted coup was swift and brutal, his forces mercilessly hunting down the last vestiges of the Hand of Light and killing every single member of the cult. Unfortunately, before Tacitus and his forces could return to Nelvaan and regain control, the truth about his people's involvement in the events leading up to the battle of Kuat, also surfaced, prompting the Confederacy to enact an immediate blockade upon Nelvaan. However, word of this reached Tacitus and his followers before they could be apprehended, the Sith Lord being warned of the recent developments and the sham trial which the Viceroyalty had carried out to condemn his people, by Vyra, whom he secretly visited on Naboo.

With the majority of his people and forces already evacuated to Kalidan, Tacitus now set out to rebuild his nation, determined to never again place his people in vassalage under another nation, but to transform them into a galactic power in its own right. Enacting plans to replace the governments of nearby planets with puppet regimes controlled by Kalidan, the Sith Lord wove a spiderweb of plots across the Unknown Regions, taking advantage of the power vacuum left behind by the First Order in this part of the galaxy, which had by now collapsed in the wake of a Ssi-Ruuvi invasion.

His operations thus gradually expanded in scope and scale, the patient Sith Lord subtly spreading his influence, until all the various elements of his plan were brought together and finally came to fruition. Initiated by the Sith Lord's agents, several coups and revolutions unfolded simultaneously across several planets in the Unknown Regions, after months of work to infiltrate and subvert the local populations, his followers' propaganda, assassinations and acts of sabotage gradually bringing the militaries of these planets over to his side. Practically overnight, the governments of these planets disappeared and through their downfall, the Eternal Empire's meteoric rise to power on the galactic stage, began.

Vyra Silara Vyra Silara (Wife): Tacitus first met Vyra during a festival on Fondor, which he reluctantly attended with the delegation from the Confederacy of Independent Systems. The two would again encounter one another during the events surrounding the Eternal Empire's secession from the Confederacy, which would lead to several secret meetings, the Sith Lord seeking to obtain her help and political support in order to overcome the crisis his people were facing at the time. Although the two developed a close bond, Tacitus did not expect to see her again after the Empire's withdrawal from Confederate space, though fate would once again conspire to bring them together, this time in a more permanent manner, circumstances leading the two to enter a political marriage in order to peacefully unify the Empire and several neighboring planets.
fGaX4Vx.png

eWGGN2q.png
Kamira Luna (Former Lover - Deceased): Very few still remember who this young woman was, yet it was she who had the biggest impact on Kainan's life. Having met during their tormented childhood, the two eventually formed a very close bond, first as friends and later in their lives, as young lovers. While Kainan himself was nothing more than a slave, she had been selected to train as his owner's Sith apprentice, due to her Force sensitivity, a gift which would eventually prove her downfall. Having known little beyond violence and strife, the pair went on to join a pirate crew, which would later be pursued by a Jedi Knight looking to bring them to justice. During the fateful encounter, the Jedi mistook her for a Sith and, in the chaos of the ensuing fight, killed her. It could be argued that she was the first person who ever loved the man who would become Darth Tacitus. And the first person he loved in return.

1JoFOiJ.png
Rath Exigo Rath Exigo (Friend): A former high ranking member of the Ancient Eye's Anubian priesthood who fell into disgrace as a result of a political plot against him, Rath Exigo was one of the first supporters of Tacitus' establishment of the influential secret society known as the Wardens of the Shroud, an organization of Force wielders which shares Tacitus' end goal of ultimately destroying the Force, out of a belief that this would end the eternal conflict between Light and Dark, which has torn the galaxy apart so many times throughout history. Along with Tacitus himself, it can be said that Rath Exigo was one of the architects of the Wardens' entire philosophy, structure and core beliefs and is one of a very small number of people whom Tacitus would consider friends.
fGaX4Vx.png

4FWSM30.png
Srina Talon Srina Talon (Friend): Tacitus first met Darth Metus' apprentice during a diplomatic meeting between Confederate and Ancient Eye upper echelons, but the two did not exchange anything more than diplomatic pleasantries and formality, up until the harrowing events that took place during the Ancient Eye's mission on Haven. Through the years, the two grew closer and eventually formed a bond of friendship, the Sith Lord once considering her his closest friend. Following the Battle of Eshan, the two started to grow apart, however, culminating in the events of the Siege of Kuat, where Tacitus ultimately chose his people, over his long-time friend, betraying her trust to cover up the Empire's involvement in staging the false flag attack that led to the war with the New Republic.

Adron Malvern Adron Malvern (Brother): At one time mortal enemies, now siblings bound by blood. The story of the Malvern brothers is a long one, fraught with bloodshed and violence. Born several years apart, the two did not know eachother for years, as Kainan was taken as a hostage by the One Sith at a young age. Early on after gathering the remnants of the Dominion and leading them away from the ill-fated nation's remains, Tacitus reached out to Adron, at the time a High Moff in the Empire, with an offer to negotiate peace, unaware of the blood ties between them. The peace talks degenerated into violence, sparking a rivalry that would last for several years and would see the two attempt to kill eachother on several occasions. Fate would eventually reunite them in the Confederacy, where their blood feud was finally put to rest after the truth came out.

Fte8iNW.png
Ingrid L'lerim Ingrid L'lerim (Apprentice): Baroness Ingrid L'lerim of Vengard has been a loyal servant of the Eternal Empire for a long time, fulfilling her duties as an assassin with diligence and efficiency, proving her devotion to the Imperial cause on numerous occasions. As fate would have it, an experiment carried out by Tacitus' sorcerers went awry during one of her visits to the Imperial palace, accidentally awakening her long-suppressed Force sensitivity. Feeling responsible, the Eternal Emperor decided to take her under his wing and has gradually been training her as his apprentice in the ways of the Sith and the Wardens of the Shroud, but also as a powerful political figure in the Empire who would eventually serve as the Emperor's right hand.
