OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
GENERAL INFORMATION
• Name: Ravager
• Designation: Non-sentient
• Homeworld: Valrar (finished product), Xagobah (initial tests)
• Language: No language besides hisses and roars
• Average Lifespan: 35 years
• Estimated Population: Scattered
• Description: The Ravager is a snake-like creature with a large crest on their head, bony scythes on their arms, and armor plating covering their bodies.
PHYSICAL INFORMATION
• Breathes: Type I
• Average height of adults: 2.3 meters
• Average length of adults: 5 meters
• Skin color: Purple with brown armor plating
• Hair color: No hair
• Distinctions: The most distinctive traits of the Ravager are its large bony crest, menacing appearance, and the array of ways in which it can kill someone. From the bone scythes to the spines on its back, along with the armor plating it has, the Ravager looks to be designed to slaughter the enemies of the Sith in a brutal fashion. Females of the species have slightly less armor, but a larger crest above their heads.
• Races: No other races currently
• Strengths:
1. Armored plates can take several blaster bolts or slugthrower rounds or blows from a melee weapon, including a few glancing blows from a lightsaber.
2. Front arm scythes are incredibly sharp, able to slice through medium armors. They can also allow the creature to climb vertical surfaces.
3. Has a collection of 35cm spines on its back that it can fire at enemies or prey at high speeds, with the spines being able to be regenerated after they have fed and digested a meal.
4. Spines are also coated in a unique Sith poison the creatures produce themselves that is able to cause hallucinations and loss of control of emotions.
5. Can move very quickly over unobstructed terrain.
6. Altered endocrine and adrenal systems mean the creatures can be ready to fight at any time, even when roused from sleep.
• Weaknesses:
1. Gaps exist in the armor plating of the creature, particularly around the neck and joints.
2. To fire its spines, it has to bend its head down, giving a possible target some warning the attack is coming. It also means the creatures are relying on a general sense of where prey is before firing, so a fast opponent can easily move out of the way.
3. It is significantly slower when moving over rocky or uneven terrain.
4. Arm scythes are made of bone, so while incredibly sharp, a lightsaber can carve through them, and they can break against a strong enough metal or armor
5. If exposed to extreme colds, such as on snow planets or from carbonite weapons, they grow extremely lethargic, the bone scythes and armor plates become extreme brittle and will shatter at the slightest touch.
6. In prolonged engagements, they can tire out due to their altered adrenal and endocrine systems. It also means they can run out of spines until they have fed.
CULTURE
• Diet: Carnivore
• Communication: Hisses and roars to its fellows
• Technology level: No technology level
• Religion/Beliefs: No religion or belief system
• General behavior: Sadistic or cruel are the key words that comes to mind when describing a Ravager's behavior, as observed by Eldaah and her Master. Warped far and away from their Sluissi roots, the Ravagers take great pleasure in the fear they generate and in the killing of their prey or the enemies their Sith masters send them against, frequently showcasing a lust for blood and brutality when it comes to dispatching said enemies or prey. The Ravagers will consistently strike an enemy with their scythes or turn them into a pincushion with their spines, making sure the kill is thorough. They are somewhat solitary creatures, but will band together at the order of their masters. The only other time they will band together is when they must mate, with only the strongest and most brutal males being accepted by a female.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION

The Ravager first began development after Eldaah's Master sent her to kidnap innocent Sluissi from under the nose of the Galactic Alliance, sending them to an original lab located on Xagobah before the Alliance moved to take the planet. The development of the creatures, after that first phase, were first at Eldaah's Master's facility on a Frozen Moon in the Unknown Regions before finally relocating to the facility on Valrar. In that time, her Master dubbed the new creatures, born from the captive Sluissi, Ravagers.

Beginning the adaption process on the hapless Sluissi, her Master strove to create a vicious killer of a Sithspawn, something that would be an absolute terror whenever encountered. To do so, she stripped the Sluissi of their sentience, reawakening their more primal and feral beginnings... and then she began to apply the dark side of the Force in even greater use. The Sluissi were enlarged, the appendages on their arms mutated through Sith alchemy into vicious bone scythes able to cut through medium armors, extremely tough armor plating was grown across their bodies except peculiarly around the neck. Her Master began altering the endocrine and adrenal systems of the creatures, making sure that the constant flow of chemicals meant the creatures were always ready for battle, even immediately after being roused from sleep.

Along their backs, and within their bodies, her Master encouraged the growth of spines that the creatures could fire at prey and that would grow back extremely quickly, although the spines could only be fired when the Ravager bows its head, so prey has a chance to move or see the attack coming. The spines also included an insidious addition from her Master, utilizing the Sluissi's sweat glands, the spines would be coated in a unique variant of Sith poison that her Master designed to cause hallucinations and loss of control of a victim's emotions in those that received even a single drop in their bloodstream... taking affect hours of infection.

The end result was a creature that was an extremely sadistic and brutal killer, a complete reversal of the peaceful and calm Sluissi they had been. However, Eldaah and her Master did discover that the Ravagers are extremely lethargic in cold conditions or when subjected to carbonite style weapons. The cold also affected the bone scythes and armor plating of the creatures, turning the normally tough materials into a brittle material that would shatter at the faintest touch. The creatures can also tire in prolonged engagements, and while effective on open or smooth terrain like the deck of a ship or a plain, rocky or uneven terrain significantly hinders their ability to move.

So far I'm digging the concept, especially the poisonous coating of the spinal barbs and the enhanced adrenal system - those aren't things I typically see coming through here. What I've gathered so far is this:
• Fairly large armored worm meant to kill and rend. Armor, poisonous barbs, frontal arm scythes, and always battle-ready. Fairly fast too.
• Weak points in armor, the telltale signs of a ranged attack, and brittle enough armor/scythes for them to be countered. Obstructed by uneven terrain.
So far all of that sounds pretty balanced honestly. However, I've got a few questions about the rest of the submission:
• The barbs. Once the Ravager has "fired" them, is it possible for them to be regrown? If so, how long does it take? Will the regeneration process take lots of sleep and a large intake of calories or something along those lines?
• Behavior. Since they are pretty much oversized worm/snakes, do they burrow underground at all? Or are they strictly above ground creatures?
Clarify those for me and we can move on! Tag me when you're done.

Added in that they regen after they consume a meal, and in prolonged engagements they can run out of spines. They also are not intended to burrow underground, remaining as above ground snakes.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to this!

These look good. Strong enough to put up a fight with a number of weaknesses and possible counters that make them perfectly balanced.

Everything checks out for me. Approved!

Pending secondary approval.
