Before the Battle of Copero, the Eternal Army issued a requisition order for a versatile, portable missile launcher to equip infantry units with the capability to attack fortified positions and enemy vehicles more effectively. The requisition order, which specified requirements for a weapon capable of launching a variety of different types of guided missiles, was taken up by Karavin Concern, a military-industrial conglomerate which has developed and produced equipment for the Eternal Army before.

The resulting weapon, which received the designation of KC-M2, was a shoulder-mounted portable guided missile launcher capable of being operated by a single infantryman with minimal training. Designed as a cheap and easy to produce weapon, it is relatively simple, reliable and easy to maintain. It uses different types of missiles designed around a common form factor, making it highly versatile.

The weapon's simplicity comes with several drawbacks, the absence of an internal magazine limiting it to a single shot before having to be reloaded. It is also a fairly heavy and bulky weapon, with bulky ammunition which restricts the quantity which a soldier can carry to only five.

Unfortunately, the project suffered some setbacks which led to it not being ready in time for the Confederate assault on the Jen'ari occupied world of Copero, however development concluded not long after and the new weapon was issued to the various branches of the Nelvaanian military.

Recently, the Confederate Defense Force has also taken notice of the new missile launcher, recognizing it as a cost-effective method to equip its vast droid army with a weapon that is simple to operate and does not require a very complex software update to operate.
