OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Name: Terentasaur
  • Designation: Non-sentient
  • Origins: Valrar (created), Dathomir (released into ecosystem as an experiment)
  • Average Lifespan: 120 Galactic Standard Years
  • Estimated Population: Rare
  • Description: An immensely powerful monster, designed to be an apex predator and weapon, the Terentasaur is a massive reptile covered in armored scales and spikes, a beast of rippling muscle and strength, and has a voracious hunger that cannot be easily sated.
PHYSICAL INFORMATION
  • Breathes: Type I
  • Average Height of Adults: 12 meters
  • Average Length of Adults: 36 meters (older specimens can reach lengths of 45 meters due to their krayt dragon DNA)
  • Skin color: Gray-ish green to brown
  • Hair color: No hair
  • Distinctions: The most distinctive physical traits of the Terentasaur besides its massive size are the spikes, spines, and tusks that cover its scaled body, the large claws that drip with a dark side created venom, and the spiked tail the beast can use to crush its prey.
  • Races: No other races
  • Force Sensitivity: Non-Sensitive

Strengths:
  • As evidenced by its massive size, and the enhancements done to the base krayt dragon genetics through Sith Alchemy, the Terentasaur has immense strength five times that of a normal krayt dragon. It can easily crush bunkers and other defenses beneath its feet or through smashing them with its tail, can easily damage buildings and otherwise can rampage through an enemy's city or fortifications for maximum destruction.
  • The spines, spikes, and tusks of the creature have been enhanced through Sith alchemy to be nigh indestructible from most weapons. This enhancement is also passed along to the scales that cover its body, giving the monster great protection from enemy attacks.
  • Due to the terentatek DNA used in its creation, the Terentasaur has an innate resistance to most Force powers directed against it.
  • Due to the terentatek DNA, along with the krayt dragon genetics, the beast has a powerful venom contained within its claws and the spines on its tail that both paralyzes a victim and causes crippling pain.
Weaknesses:
  • While immensely physically power, the monster is not a fast moving creature, nor is it easy to miss. This gives defenders plenty of time to bring heavier weapons to bear to try and bring it down before it reaches them.
  • The protection of its scales does not extend to its eyes or mouth, making them easy spots to attack to either cripple or kill the beast. In particular, the beast retains a weakness of the krayt dragon phisiology with a relatively shallow sinus cavity, allowing attacks that pierce the eye to easily pass into the creature's brain.
  • While it has resistance to most Force-based attacks, it is not entirely immune to attacks such as Force Lightning/Electric Judgment, Force Light, Kinetite.
  • Curiously, the makeup of the venom within its claws and spikes makes those appendages weak to cryo-based attacks such as carbonite or cryoban and will cause them to painfully shatter.
CULTURE
  • Diet: Carnivore - The monster has a particular preference to the blood and meat of beings and creatures strong in the Force
  • Communication: Roars and growls, can understand commands given in the Sith language by trained Sith Beastmasters
  • Technology level: No technology level due to lack of sentience
  • Religion/Beliefs: No religion or belief system due to lack of sentience
  • General behavior:
    • The Terentasaur are generally solitary creatures, preferring to establish lairs and large tracts of territory within the jungles and mountains of Dathomir around places that have an odd concentartion of the dark side of the Force. They are fiercely protective of their ranges and caves, killing anything unfortunate to stumble into their areas. When hungry, it is not uncommon for them to target larger beasts, such as rancors, and pull those mighty monsters back to their lairs, or attack and decimate villages near their borders. Mating is done once every twenty years, however this is not always done with the same mate as (insert name) mating practices are determined through dominance and survival.
    • While under the command of a Sith Beastmaster, the behavior of the Terentasaur is altered slightly. The protectiveness of its territory is twisted into a near uncontrollable rampage of destruction directed at the Sith's enemies, with the beast taking a primal pleasure in killing and destroying everything in front of it.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION

Originally begun as a genetic experiment on the Order of Shadows world of Valrar to create a new siege engine-like Sithspawn, the Sithspawn creation project that would become the Terentasaur was ultimately greenlit by the Lady of Secrets when her wife, Fiolette Raaf, and daughter Nerralyn wanted to see something like the large ancient reptiles they had seen on the Holonet. Obtaining black market specimens of krayt dragons, and taking some of the terentateks within Sith space, Taeli and her team of alchemists and geneticists began the process of merging the DNA of the beasts together.

With a few eggs created, it was decided that the introduction of these beasts into the jungles of Valrar, overladen as they were by Sithspawn, would be disruptive to the ecosystem there. The beasts within the eggs were designed to be the apex predator of apex predators, so it was decided that the uncharted and sparsely populated world of Dathomir would be their chosen habitat. The new monsters, before they hatched, were taken to a part of the southern continent of Dathomir where a team from the Order of Shadows used the dark side to accelerate the gestation period of the eggs and the growth of the younglings within to the point they could survive the hostile environment on their own.

The Terentasaur quickly began carving out a place for itself in the Dathomiri food chain, as observed by the Order of Shadows, by killing and taking over rancor territory and establishing their own ranges to defend from others of their kind and prey that might accidentally stumble into the area. The monsters were everything the Order of Shadows could have hoped for, and Taeli made sure images and videos were prepared to show that dinosaurs could be brought back to the delight of her daughter.
