DESCRIPTION
This short sword has a 48cm chopping blade. Moran modeled the sword after a Krath Death Witch itak cleaver that he found and examined in a 5000-year-old vault on Empress Teta. The itak’s hooked and textured brylark-wood grip will not slip from the hand regardless of how bloody one’s work gets. The edge, painstakingly treated with high-grade Svolten rhyolite, refuses to roll or chip no matter how much mundane armour it shears through. The brylark pommel is fully as strong as most metals and suitable for striking, even against hard targets.

This is not the kind of magic sword one carries to invoke pyrotechnics and strange weather. One carries this sword for the express purpose of chopping things that need chopping. However, the Krath itak has an ability beyond Moran’s normal extrapolations of traditional Sith sword traits. In keeping with the Krath proclivity for illusion and deception, Moran hid a miniature lanvarok inside the sword’s pommel, at a thirty-degree angle from the weapon’s main axis. The lanvarok can discharge a single razor-sharp disc of alchemical metal, no bigger than a thumbnail. Air resistance will quickly warp the little disc’s trajectory over any distance longer than a metre or two, but it’s not designed as a ranged weapon. Instead, the tiny lanvarok disc is meant for ultra-short-range combat: providing a momentary distraction, blinding an enemy, cutting a throat, or giving a pommel strike some extra bite.
