"What do we have, minor?" There was a sense of reserved impatience in the voice of the Zealot Major as he spoke. " how long until they reach us?"

Gal'Zhoren reflected on his journey from the valley verge back to the base camp. The trek had been clear and short yet he knew he couldn't discount for a moment that he may have been followed. It was a ridiculous thought, given that he made sure he hadn't been seen but it couldn't be disregarded all the same.
He considered for a moment the state of the invaders. He assumed it would be a safe bet that they carried grapling hooks. That would make things more complicated. The man-thing, he had reasoned, would have no choice but to follow the set path among the lower levels. Eventually, he spoke.

"Only a small detachment of footsoldiers Major. They appear to be led by some kind of human tank. If they get to higher ground, I'd guess they'd take around 20 minutes to reach the chasms."

The major regarded Gal'Zhoren with an inquisitive frown. A sole, clawed finger scratched across his rough skin in deep thought. He let out a low growl as he raised his head once more.

" They are divided". The smirk that adorned has face was almost feral. He turned slightly, addressing the rest of the team.
"Xanlatt, trail these soldiers on the High rise. Take them out if you get the chance."

"Yes Major". The shadow rumbled, already standing to his feet. He thumbed a few digits on his cloaking device before dissapearing from sight.

"Var'Schmark, you, Valmerk and I will head to the chasms. Prepare a vantage point and await the soldiers".

"Yes Major". Both Baedurin said at once.

"Gal'Zhoren and Ort'nem, you will pass by the chasms entrance ahead of the enemy. Use you explosives on the higher levels but only detonate as they pass through. They will come running to the chasms where they will do no more".

The remaining pair simply nodded as they headed off towards the chasm.

Gal'Zhoren would be lying if he said he wasn't excited about the prospect of annihilating the incoming enemy when they took the bait.

It was only a matter of time now.

Viermen Gal'Zhoren Gal'Zhoren
After hearing Baron Viermen’s orders to ascend the cliff side and pack up his missle launcher, UC-4158 couldn’t help but feel slightly disappointed about not getting to use it yet, but orders were orders, especially when coming from someone with both a higher rank and more experience than him, and he figured that he would get to use it later. He and a fellow Ultranaught designated UC-4159 briefly rummaged through their utility bags, and pulled out the necessary climbing equipment. They began scouting the surrounding terrain ahead of them, separate from the rest of the group. Once they were sure nobody could hear them, UC-4159 and UC-4158 began talking to each other. (For this conversation, they decided to use each other’s real names, as no commanding officers were present. UC-4158 is Steve, UC-4159 is Patrick) “So, Steve. What do you think about Viermen?” Patrick started. “We really shouldn’t be talking about our superiors behind their backs, Patrick.” Steve responded, somewhat annoyed. He continued, “But if you insist on talking about him, I think he seems like an experienced and capable leader.” “He doesn’t give you the creeps? I honestly don’t trust someone with six legs he wasn’t born with.” “Well, I have heard plenty of stupid rumors about why he was them and quite frankly, most of them are less believable than your average Silentium Abduction claims and I refuse to spread them.” “Well, there’s also the fact that he just suddenly appeared one day as a Planetary Baron. That doesn’t just happen you know. Personally, I think he has some kind of blackmail that he used to get the job.
The two ultranaughts had reached the ridge at this point, and began climbing. During the climb, they couldn’t really talk to each other, and by the time they reached the top, they had seemingly silently agreed not to discuss the topic any further. They began surveying the valley below them, but they didn’t notice the well concealed Bryn’adûl Sniper almost perfectly concealed among the rocks. Because they were moving around quite a bit though, it was difficult for the marksman to find a good time to shoot. Finally, the two ultranaughts began arguing again, and stood still for a long enough time for the sniper to line up a shot at UC-4159.

Like hungry rats, searching for flesh bones to pick clean, the Eternal Empire's elite crashed through the breached hole like breaking a virgin's sense of morality; dying numerically in the process, yet filtering through with a purpose to end the war. For every one dropped, another appeared to carry the torch of victory; all focused on killing the enemy. Their motto "Not to reason why...but to do or die" flooded their minds, a suggestion forced fed through an invisible tube directly into their minds, heart, and psyche. Some tried to resist, finding an uncomfortable tremble bite maliciously deep within, striking hard upon their mental fortitude like a good lap dog falling in line with the collective; and for those that resisted, fell upon the ground crying in tears as their minds religiously were torn apart.

S
oldiers from both sides continued to plug the breach, one side gaining ground only to lose it in a sickening breath. That small hole, that breach, was becoming a war of attrition, both opposing armies feverously trying in heated desperation to hold whatever ground afforded them at the onset of dawn's awakening.

Then in the death of love, a lone figure stepped through the threshold; eyes of true evil scanning her future cemetery. Before her, legs kicking like victims of the gallows, breathes gasping from tightened slipknots; she murdered in a blink of those that stood against her.

Allies: The Bryn
Foes: Not The Bryn
Objective: BYOO
Forces:

The Lothal Guard- Veteran Bryn soldiers loyal To Sethrak
Warlocks (30x)- Force wielding ground commanders loyal to The First Warlock (Sethrak)

"The Killing Grounds", inside The Nether

The Warlord Sethrak stood strong, around him bodies stacked at least three feet high. Some were Drael, others were pale, faceless warriors of various races. There were even some Nexu, Lothwolves, and similar beasts. Beyond the piled up corpses, The Lothal Guard stood, holding their ground just as Sethrak had, as wave after wave of faceless foes nicknamed "The Forgotten" by Sethrak, threw themselves against the Bryn position. Meanwhile the very land on which The Bryn forces stood was alive, slicing at their legs, often bypassing armor and cutting deep, even hitting arteries. This had been the scene for hours as The Bryn'adul tried to move toward one location: The Tower. Every mile was earned by combat, with no aerial support and no reinforcements. Ahead of the forces stood a hill as tall as a mountain, steep, but walkable. That was the first destination for The Bryn.

Sethrak alone had taken this mission with two goals....

First was to find The Titan. Tathra Khaeus Tathra Khaeus was here, Sethrak knew it, but it would take everything The Warlock had to find The Titan. The second objective was potentially impossible. Sethrak was going to bring the undead Bryn that wander the Nether into Danuta, a last ditch effort to keep The Bryn'adul from certain destruction. Sethrak himself didn't know how to accomplish such a thing, but he had brought 30 of the strongest Warlocks with him, hopeful that their combined power could control the undead.

But first The Warlord's forces had to reach The Plains...an area where The friendlier undead roamed...at least that was the scouting report.

To reach The Plains, Sethrak and the already exhausted Lothal Guard had to get off Hill One...the mountainous tower before them, a task that so far had been unsuccessful. But Sethrak was determined, whatever the cost, he would be successful, The Bryn'adul would not fall...even if he was the last one standing.

All the albino knew was war, he had been burned and scarred by it, it had forged him made him strong. Since his birth he was trained to fight and to kill, to purge the Galaxy of it’s corruption of weakness. He always heeded the call of the chieftain until they were no more. Yet since the chieftain’s disappearance the Bryn'adul had seemingly been lost, meandering to the beat of a dying war drum. The drum beat slowly fading and moving away from the heart where it once made thunderous roar that drove fear into heart of all the Bryn'adul enemies.

This day was no difference the war drums distant but still calling as the Eternal Empire and allies landed on Bryn'adul shores. The tables of conquest had turned and now it was Draelvasier turn to fend off the invaders. Udomek had to wonder if the once great Bryn'adul could muster the forces and reclaim their glory. That word Glory reminded him of the old Man he had not seen since his first battle, he wondered if Kad Kad had ever found his glory. Udomek shook away the memories as the alarms sounded the structure was being breached.

He stood up from where he was seated and grabbed his helmet and plopped it on his head. He looked to the men in his squad a lot of them were young, younger than him. Today most of them would probably die, Udomek was used to that his friends and squad mates dying it was one thing he knew just as well as war, loss. He took a deep breath as he stepped forward hitting each of his mean on the shoulder as he passe signaling them to stand up.

“War comes to our shores boys, let’s make the oceans run red with our enemies blood.” He grunted out as his men formed up around him. They then made calm march towards some of the breaches, they did not charge nor rush. They methodically moved forward holding a tight group semi circle formation. There Assault Carbines where drawn and they opened fire on anything that wasn’t Bryn’adul. If this was the final days of the Bryn’adul they were not going down without a fight and like always Udomek would push himself and his men to the limits.

They had been monitoring the skies from the moments they came in for a landing at first, they had figured the majority of the fighters and bombers would be deployed to the super structure off in the distance. They hadn’t expected much if anything more then scouts at first to come this way at least not initially it wasn’t like they broadcast themselves that the Maw had arrived. They surely new they had been detected and would be investigated to find out if they were friend or foe. Yet it was like a frakking chit storm as the Eternals as the several squadrons of fighters and bombers were spotted coming their way.

Mitch started cursing out loud to his gunner. “They are about to bring the wrath their frakking gods down on us, I hate that damn witch!” His gunner just nodded as he fired up to his station preparing for the incoming firefight. Mitch opened up comms to the other cruisers. “Deflector shields up, ready attack position and fire on my command.” Mitch stared at his command console and up at the sky, he knew for the most part the cruisers could handle the first and maybe second wave with out some sort of support but on that third wave they were going to start taking heavy loss.

As he saw the doom heading their way message was sent out to the camp and force began to scatter on the ground outside the cruisers. Mitch looked to one of his other screens. “Spider three get your deflector shields up now.” Spider three seemed to be having some issue and its pilot commed back in a panic. “Deflector shields aren’t coming up.” Mitch looked wide eyed as he saw the fighters and bombers approaching. “Now, Now, Now!” he screamed at spider three. Spider three worked frantically trying to figure out what the issue was.

The fighters began opening fire on the ground picking oof ground troops that weren’t scrambling away fast enough. Then they came in range and Mitch had to let spider three go. “May the avatars guide you.” He whispered to himself as he opened comms fully. “Open fire into the sky let’s take as many of them to the nether with us as we can and hope that those damn shaman do their job!”

The Bodies of those not quick enough on the ground where easily picked off no defense against the air raid. The generator at the Base camp took a direct hit causing it to explode killing a few soldiers trying to erect it. Then the Bombing came for cruisers, and they let lose with all of there heavy weapons the heavy fire link laser cannons, and anti-ship laser cannons, and MegaCaliber Six turbolaser all firing pounding into the sky above.

Spider three took several heavy bombardments but four of it’s eight legs were detached at there pivot points cause spider three to go lopsided. It wasn’t fully destroyed but it was basically useless it might manage to take flight but at best it would limp home with eh damage it took. Mitch looked visibly pissed and he was not at the Eternal Empire though but at that damn witch Khaos she should have brought them additional air support.

GM1OQzU.png

Khaos found herself running as the air raid came in overhead at her ahead of her a little ways was Gerald and even father ahead was the shaman and Sorcerers at a far tree line performing the ritual of storm. She frantically ran for the tree line pumping her legs as fast as she could the bombs falling behind her and the loud explosion of the generator that hadn’t been full erected. Her eyes focused on making it to the shamans and sorcerers. She saw some of her men get taking out by strafing fire from the fighters above. Just as she was about to curse her pilot Mitch for not engaging, she heard the spider cruisers open fire.

As the tree line got closer she watched in horror as Gerald just about made it to the protective bubble one of the shaman had formed to protect them from the bombardment he explode into vapor dust as he was hit by Laser cannon fire from one of the Lances. As much as she wanted to stop and turn direction, she knew she couldn’t the closest safety net was the force buble of the shaman. She would have to greave Gerald later he was a good man one she had personally hand picked for this mission. “May the avatars grant you rebirth.” She said to herself for Gerald as she just made it to the tree line and into the bubble as laser fire just barely missed her striking the ground directly behind her.

She frantically began looking for Fulton and quickly noticed he was in the middle of the ritual itself. Khaos looked up at the sky barely visible from the tree line she was in. But a smile crossed her face as storm clouds began to roll in the dark clouds cared with it cracks of lightening. She then turned and looked towards the cruisers to see one in heaps and but the other nineteen firing as their deflector shields began to sputter out lucky their armor could take heavy punishment.

She then turned towards the main swamp land ahead out there was droids and traps and now her men where scattered. But there was hope as with he storm being conjured ionized mist began to rise off the swamp land waters which would obscure sensors. A smile crossed her face inside her helmet she loved the Mayhem but that she sent a telepathic message to Braktus. “Continue operation Hide and seek, you are in charge now Gerald is dead.” With that she sent a mental Message to Mitch as well. “A storm is rolling in it will really mess with sensors, comms, and I really wouldn’t want to be in the air so stay grounded, but you have a few moments send out the call intact operation Savior.” With that Khaos waited that was all she could do for now an automated Message in Tegan Starfall Tegan Starfall ’s voice would be sent to all Bryn’adul along there communication channels.

“THIS IS THE BROTHERHOOD OF THE MAW TO THE BRYN’ADUL, WE HAVE BEEN WATCHING YOU. IF YOU SEEK THE TRUTH COME FIND US WE HAVE WHAT IT IS YOU ARE LOOKING FOR.”

The Nuetralizers sang as they slaughtered their way through the breach, their strange mechanical voices joining the chorus of grunts and shouts delivered by the Bryn'adûl in their savage tongue. And yet, as slightly unsettling as the songs of her brothers were, Esmeralda found herself immediately energized by them, a grin coming over her features as she leapt over a barricade after a pair of the Model 1s. Before long, the first signs of resistance began to meet them, feral, bloodthirsty Drones arriving in swarms as they sought to overwhelm the House Io forces before they could establish a foothold within the construct.

Esmeralda intended to make them fail.

Placing her shotgun on her back, knowing that she would need to save its ammo for the massive Juggernauts, Esmeralda pulled her light repeating blaster from her hip in a snap of rapid motion, hinting at her proficiency with Teräs Käsi. Alerted to the location of two Drones before they came into view by her armor’s sensors, bright magenta beams struck both of the unfortunate creature’s in the chest just as they rounded a corner, blooming in a violent explosion of energy as their bodies slumped to the ground. Nevertheless, more of the foul creatures rounded the corner heedlessly in their wake, ravenous snarls on their throats as they charged into the landing area.

“Darling, I gotta get you to church on time...” The Siren repeated softly to herself, a Model 1 close to her having said the same as he butchered a Juggernaut with a vibromachete. A coy smile manifested on her lips as she gunned down three more of the slavering beasts in a precise barrage of burst fire, flash-boiling flesh and armor in the process to bloodcurdling screams of pain and rage.

Managing to cut down two more of the Drones, Esmeralda slammed a fresh cell in her pistol, just as more Juggernauts began to present themselves in the breach, quickly supplanting the Drones. Placing her pistol back in its place on her hip, Esmeralda pulled her shotgun from her back, readying it as the Juggernauts began to advance towards the landing zone. Then, triangulating the enemy positions on her sensors, Esmeralda pulled a CryoBan grenade from her belt, flicking it active with the flip of a finger as she placed herself behind a nearby bulkhead.

Then, she waited two seconds.

All the while, the monsters continued to advance in lockstep, their assault carbines barking out slugs directed towards Nuetralizers and Sirens, resolute in the face of what could very well be the end.

She would be their end.

With a, high-pitched, savage cry, Esmeralda summoned all the strength in her arm, briefly popping out of cover as she heaved the “cooked” grenade towards the center of the semi-circular Juggernaut formation ( Udomek Seker Udomek Seker ) twelve meters away, intending for it explode just as it reached the middle of the group less than a half-second after it left her hand, likely giving the monstrous creatures little time to evade its frozen wrath.

In the immediate wake of its detonation, Esmeralda leveled her shotgun at the Juggernauts, the weapon going off in one resonating boom after another to deliver a trio of CryoBan-infused slugs aimed to kill any survivors from her grenade...

Isla nodded to the response from the Crimson Empress "Very well, Ashla be with you" She replied.

Across he holo, things seemed to be heating up. The Avenging Saint was taking significant fire from the enemy as expected. The particle shields were already proven against the physical projectiles the Bryn favoured, but the sheer volume was pressing them hard and she was watching reports of damage along its starboard side as ravager frigates approached it. Would they ram? Probably, given reports she had received from previous Bryn action. The Ultranauts and Marines aboard that vessel may soon find themselves with company.

Aboard the Avenging Saint the captain had refocused all firepower on the charging ravagers, along with the firepower of the escorting frigates. If they could destroy them or at least slow them it would lessen the impact, there was no way these smaller vessels could miss the enormous and notoriously unmanueverable Noble Crusader Class battlecruiser. The ship was braced, impact was coming, but would it be a buckshot of shattered Bryn ship components, or a solid slug of reinforced prow, his gunners needed to come up with a solution. One of the Dominion frigates in his formation radioed in that it would need to disengage, its starboard flank has been chewed away by Bryn weaponry and it was venting atmosphere and burning fuel into space. It slowed and dropped behind the Avenging Saint and turned hard to port to give itself room to jump to hyperspace.

In deep space the fighters from the Ashlan Crusade had engaged with those of the Bryn, the Ashlan fighters were well made craft and they had the numbers advantage, but the Bryn vessels had teeth and they were flown by pilots that seemingly had nothing to lose. It was not unlike the encounter with the Maw fighters. The interceptors engaged in dogfights with the Bryn starfighters, and the multirole starfighters attempted to push through the oncoming force, but were having to fight themselves. Ashlan pilots died, but they were taking the Bryn with them. From Isla's vantage she could see that Aximand Sicarus Aximand Sicarus had also taken advantage of the Bryn fighters moving to intercept the Ashlans and was pushing through with his own craft. This was excellent news.

The Hand of Ashla and the templars, having closed some distance, now switched the fire of their meteor cannons and proton beams onto the Phedrak carrier and the Butcherers. Their lighter weaponry, still consisting of superheavy barbettes and masses of heavy turbolasers now came into play and was targeting the ravagers, including dozens of heavy Solar ionization cannons from the Hand of Ashla. Isla's flagship herself and the templars had come under relatively little fire, with the EE and her other battlecruiser taking the brunt of the enemy firepower. Her ships would remain in formation though. Extreme range picket vessels had informed her that this was not the entirety of this Bryn's fleet so even given the Allied current position of superiority they could let afford to lose themselves and break formation.

"Captain" Isla turned to her officer, "Those Bryn fighters are slowing our advanced, have 2 wardens follow up to push back the starfighters. But have a Dominion and a pair of Principalities join them to keep the enemy frigates honest."

The captain confirmed the orders and passed them on, moments later Isla watched the engines of the five ships flare and push them quickly ahead of the rest of her formation. The wardens were based on old Imperial anti fighter vessels and made a terrifying opponents for statfighters, the other frigate and corvette would be there to prevent the Bryn just swatting them away.

"Damage reports please" Isla asked as she saw heavy impact markers beginning to appear on the holo of one of her Templars. "The Blessed Knight has taken broadsides from the ravagers attacking the Angel their shields are holding but damage is getting through and they have lost several port batteries." The Captain replied quickly.

Isla looked out her viewpoints watching as glowing ripples appeared on her ships shields where long range Bryn weaponry was wearing away at the emitters. Balls of energy rained forward from her vessels, followed by beams of white proton energy and scores of hot yellow ionization beams. She was impressed how much firepower she had at her disposal here. She would not see it, but had been told that the amount of energy beams would give her ship a glow that looked like the light of Ashla itself.

Location: Chasm entrance; edge of engagement zone

Viermen felt the presence return again. They were beginning to come. His arm was ready to blast the beasts away. Meanwhile, he had not heard anything of the scouts. No screams means they have not found their enemies yet. Nonetheless, his troops were on the move. The hunt has begun in earnest.

As he got further within the chasm, he knew something was wrong. Something was there. They were cloaking themselves, yet Viermen could not see where the one hiding nearby exactly was. Thogh he could feel the intent to kill, and the malice, in the air. He then heard the sound of the explosives being deployed. It was too late. He and most of the troops made it through, but a few that lagged behind were turned into a puree of their former selves and then got burried in rubble.

"Come out and face me beasts!", Viermen shouted into the chasm in rage, "Are you not strong enough to face me and my soldiers openly?! Are any of you worthy?!"

He then turned to face the surviving soldiers, "Those of you who died are weak, and unworthy. For your sake, those of you who still live, you best hope you are worthy. Time to keep moving. It is time for those beasts to die."

He then continued on, and the surving soldiers behind him followed behind. He would take pleasure in exterminating them with brutality. There was no acceptable fate in his mind otherwise.

New reports filtered in over the comms that the Tenebrim used indicating the Superconstruct had suffered several more breaches. Vibrations caused by the explosions ripping through the structures exterior were almost palpable, the implants in Naimes feet, 'Tremor Sensors' were able to pick them up effortlessly causing the Mandalorian to pause. He looked in the direction he surmised the nearest breach had formed then moved towards it, diverting from his path towards one of the Research Labs. Coincidentally this breach was the closest to that area.

As he passed through the corridors more chatter came over the comms which he'd begin responding to...

"Do not engage the enemy outside of the breach. Establish defensive perimeters inside and hold them. Let the Draelvasier engage and advance, our role is to defend, sweep and purge the Supercosntruct."

....over the comms Naimes heard a multitude of acknowledgements, confirmations, etc. The Mandalorian surmised that the Eternal Empires ground forces didn't have the firepower to destroy the Superconstruct directly, after all it was a mega construct dwarfing so many others that even he had seen so he'd reasoned they'd need to come inside to disable or destroy it. The Draelvasier would do as the Bryn'adul Commanders directed them but the Tenebrim would follow Naimes direction at this point. He knew sending them outside of the Superconstruct to attack the enemy would reverse the tide of casualties.

The Tenebrim had begun responding too. They'd established defensive formations down many of the Superconstructs corridors to thwart the advance of Eternal Empires ranks. In the places where they'd been able to rally makeshift barriers had been erected for cover. Eternal Empire soldiers funneling down these corridors away from the main fighting around the breaches would be faced with fire from Heavy Repeating Blaster emplacements. It wasn't like this everywhere but Naimes understood he only needed to thwart some of the incursions to debilitate the enemy position.

On route more comms chatter invaded the Mandalorians mind, screaming Tenebrim were calling for assistance and prompting him to move faster. When Naimes came closer the sounds of men shouting, screaming became more evident and not just over the comms either; their voices filled the open air. He saw Ladybug Ladybug , his allies dying around her and he leveled the 'Kath Hound' Shotgun in her direction and fired letting it belch out blaster fire at a margin ideal for clearing closed ranks and confined quarters...

The impact of the explosive charges had went far better than the two Zealots could possibly have hoped. The strained screaming of the injured and dying invaders was definetly a generous bonus. Gal'Zhoren had hoped that the remaining humans had said their prayers already. He was certain they would regret it otherwise. Ultimatey though, it wouldn't matter too much, they would all die shortly. Slowly. Painfully.

Gal'Zhoren recalled the effort of setting the trap. The enemy had been far closer to the chasm than he had anticipated in his report. But, through the hidden passageways and concealed shortcuts of movement, both he and Ort'nem had just enough time to manage hiding themselves before the first of the soldiers crossed under them.

"They aren't running, Gal". Ort'nem's voice broke through the clacking of rubble as he spoke through the comm. The open frequency between the group allowed Gal'Zhoren to hear the poorly veiled curses from the hidden assault line.

"Then let the frakas walk to their graves. Let them draw it out". He wasn't quite certain he had used the word right , at least, in the right context. He didn't really care. He'd known it to be the last words of many an enemy before they met their fate at the hands of the mighty Bryn'adûl. It would work for now.

The zealots observed the crippled enemy forces as they made to continue down the valley mouth towards the chasms. There, the rest would die.

Xanlatt:

He saw them.

Three Marines had crested the jagged walls to reach the valley upper levels. He trained his sights on each member for a time before resting his gaze on a single soldier. Their movements were slow, dis-organised. Almost as though the marines had a greater interest in conversing than looking out for their own survival.

Xanlatt prepared to take his shot...

That was when the valley rumbled.

Were he any basic sniper, he would surely have lost his shot from the vibrations. As it was, Xanlatt had waited for the initial rumbling to cease considerably and planted his clawed feet to the rocky undergrowth. He observed the Marines, they were slightly more alert now. They were inexperienced to have lower their guard before- and that infuriated him.

The Zealot Shadow lined his rifle up once more to the marine and whispered into his comm.

"Time to hunt".

Then, he fired.

Colliding with another living being was always a bit different. There were so many variables at play in what seemed to the onlooker to be a rather brutish and unceremonious maneuver. What was depicted as the first stratagem of the brute and the dullard was realistically a far more peculiar interaction. After all, it was not enough to simply crash into a target with one shoulder - a real warrior needed to decide whether they wanted to press in on their opponent, or merely check them into the nearest wall, or if they ought to try to stifle their own momentum in order to gain an advantage in location. The size of the enemy was important to understand, as was their mass, but their own ability to exert strength in opposition was equally vital.

Osam was not surprised when he managed to slam his foe against the wall - she seemed to be fairly dainty, though he knew that that was a facade - but he was not so preoccupied with his own aggression that he hadn't noticed her ability to halt him for a few moments before they slid against it. She was possessed of exceptional strength and durability, though whereas a significant portion of his own force came from the ministrations of the Kraemonen, hers seemed to have been unnaturally interred into her own physicality.

Some part of him was also concerned with the fact that she hadn't made any efforts to draw a weapon in order to counter him. He had seen a few of the tools in her arsenal in their past conflicts, and he knew that she was more than capable as a melee combatant. Had she already utilized some unseen knife? Had he been stabbed and not even realized it? Part of him waited for the liquid sensation of being cut, or the sting of poison seeping into his bloodstream, but neither came to fruition.

Instead, there was a simple mumble of some unknowable chant, an outstretching of will, and subsequently, he felt the hide that wrapped around him begin to condense of its own whim, as though it were being stricken all across its surface. The Flesh possessed no mouth to scream in its agony, nor any conscience with which it could decipher its terrible fate, but it was still possessed of a nervous system, and it took possession of the musculature of the armor in its primal and mindless manner, lashing out wildly at the nearest target - the only thing in sight - the witch.

And then regardless of the outcome of its berserker rage, the hide stilled, and the Warlord felt an absence of motion in the meat which surrounded his form, disrupted only by the writhing of the Kraemonen which had also seemingly felt the cessation and which reacted irritably.

The Worm-Mind could not react to the trauma occurring all around it and still remain focused upon the fleet battle taking place above Danuta, and so it deigned it necessary to continue focusing nigh entirely upon the movement of warships and their fighter escorts. It turned its attention to the swarms of Phedraks and Interceptor craft battling it out with the Ashlan's own fighters, observing as several of the unmanned vessels were destroyed by the Lightsiders. It observed too as a Phedrak slammed directly into an opposing fighter, detonating both into a fragmentation of metal and organism.

The Warlord would be pleased by the event, considered the Worm-Mind. After all, none of the Phedraks or the Shrieks were manned... but all of the fighters being utilized by their foes were driven around by pilots. Anything to kill more humanoids would bring pleasure to the Warlord. The Kraemonen made a note to inform him later of the event.

There were more pressing matters to attend to, however, especially given the encroachment of the Ashlan fleet as a whole. The Ravagers were doing admirable work in charging toward their target, but they were taking a significant amount of fire now that they had separated themselves from the battleline. Most of this appeared to be striking them across their bow, and subsequently being absorbed by the thick and heavy armor there, but even this fairly hefty portion of warship could be penetrated by relentless and terrible force.

One of the Ravagers began to falter, pressing all of its remaining energy into its engines so that it could soar ahead of the remaining Ravagers and provide them with a greater degree of shielding by means of its hull. The ship was torn to shreds in mere moments without the protective plating or the presence of a Quilxyn, but the hull did not merely dissipate with the death of the crew - it continued floating forward, acting as a corpse-shield for the Ravagers behind it until it had been so thoroughly annihilated that it was only barely discernible even as a husk.

Both the Terror and the Brawler had fought against the Ashlans before. Both knew that they were facing a foe of considerable destructive ability. Both too recognized the cost of defeat on Danuta, especially with the Ancient Architect still sitting behind the battlelines of the fleet. If the Ish'makra were destroyed by their opponents, it would spell doom for the entirety of the Bryn'adul.

Perhaps that was why both ships continued on their fateful course in spite of the terrible fire poured against them, despite the breaches in their hull that began to appear, and the loss of power throughout portions of their ships. The Worm-Mind watched as the officers of the Brawler were shot into orbit by a sudden tear in the Bridge... watched as the ship continued forward in spite of the loss, soaking damage wherever possible for the Terror so that it could get close enough to strike.

With a triumphant bang that might've resonated in the atmosphere, but which seemed anticlimactic in space, the Terror slammed against its target, holes bored through several pieces of its hull, its power failing as soon as it had made contact... but its crew not having been slain by the encroachment, and its boarders already preparing their terrible work.

The Worm-Mind observed as the enemy continued to strike out against the Bryn'adul fleet, including utilizing their terrible Meteor Cannons against the Butcherers. Thankfully, the hefty ships were being targeted by fewer weapon systems than their Conquester companions and were able to withstand the blows with only the loss of their forward shielding. With the glow of their Sentinel Servitors, the Butcherers returned fire at their foes, hoping to bore through them with the plasmatic lasers.

Unfortunately, the Ashlan fleet was not the only one that needed to be contended with, and the subsequent firepower being generated by the Eternal Empire's own ships, as well as the sudden incursions by their fighter wings - and the deadly assaults they were able to launch against the fairly defenseless Butcherers - meant that the mighty warships were beginning to sustain fairly significant damage. They had not been eliminated of yet, but the Worm-Mind extended a call to more distant portions of the fleet in a hope that reinforcements could be drawn to assist it.

The Sraeljoarsk, the Phedrak Carrier which had already dispersed its fighters, however, was far less capable of sustaining such damage. The assault from Meteor Cannons and Heavy Proton Beams meant that the carrier was forced backward nigh instantly. The vessel began to press back, away from its fighter wings, though, with a command dispersed through the mind-stones, it was able to send the four bomber squadrons hanging around it toward its oppressor, the Hand of Ashlan.

Summary of Actions
  • Phedrak Fighters and Shriek Interceptors continue to dogfight with the Ashlan Fighters. One Squadron's worth of Phedraks is destroyed in the fighting.
  • The Ravagers continue their charge - the Wail uses its hull as a shield for both the Terror and the Brawler, and the Brawler later does the same so that the Terror may reach and slam into the Avenging Saint.
  • Repair Crews aboard the Conquesters are beginning to make repairs to the ship. The Quilxyn Shields are beginning to rejuvenate and will be back up next turn.
  • Both Butcherers take significant shield damage from the Meteor Cannons of the Ashlans, and lose their shielding - they return fire using their Servitor Sentinels.
  • Sraeljoarsk immediately waves off upon being faced with enemy firepower, maneuvering to sit behind allied vessels, and taking light damage in the process.
  • Four squadrons of Thumper Obumvak bombers are sent to confront the Hand of Ashlan.

Objective: Boarding Party

Loadout:

Gordrak grunted as he brought his axe back around for a return swing, the colossal blade nearly bisecting its target. The target, an enemy boarder, fell onto his backside. Gordrak took this opportunity and surged toward his downed opponent. The man had done well avoiding the back-swing but his method of avoidance had doomed him. The axe was brought upward and then back down in the span of a heartbeat, the remains of its victim coating the walls to the left and right. Looking up, Gordrak observed several Juggernauts similarly engaged with the enemy Boarders. Some utilized their carbines while others took up a more physical approach and drew their glaives. This particular unit of Juggernauts had been emboldened by the arrival of Gordrak and were now fighting like they had been possessed. Still, every moment wasted here on these rats meant other locations went unreinforced. As his mind drifted between tactics and killing, he failed to notice the spherical object roll to a halt a foot or so in front of him.

The Explosion itself was certainly noticed however. His axe was blown free of his hand and several of his weapons were also knocked free from his armor. Despite the proximity and fierceness of the explosive however, Gordrak remained upright. His shielding, his obscene level of armor plating, his size, and mutagenic augmentation all played their part in protecting him. Biologically speaking, he was something of a nuisance to kill. His lesser Baedurin kin, for all their shared genetic abilities, were not so lucky. The ones closest to the explosion had been rendered less than whole. The few who had been somewhat further back were in varying stages of death or debilitating disability. The two who were at the rear were relatively unscathed though they were now assailed by the boarders. The hail of blaster fire took the three standing Bryn by force. Gordrak hastily signaled for the two survivors to get behind him and upon them doing so, he activated the ink sprayer in his left gauntlet. A large volume of the mildly poisonous ink-like agent quickly cut off all sight of the Bryn, obscuring them quite heavily. One of the boarders switched to a different vision mode and as he did so, he screamed.

Gordrak burst from the inky smoke-screen, his hands grabbing onto the closest enemy. The human could barely register what had happened before Gordrak tore them in half at the waist with only his hands. The blaster fire began again but Gordrak didn't care. Hurling the halves of his latest victims at two of his assailants, Gordrak advanced. The two men targeted by the halves of their squadmates were knocked to the floor instantly. The remaining human still standing attempted to run only to be struck to the ground. As they attempted to stand, Gordrak grabbed them by the leg and swung them into a wall, said human "popping" upon hitting the wall. Letting go of what was left of his victim, Gordrak turned toward the two he had knocked down. As he moved to brutalize them, the two surviving Juggernauts gunned them down instead. As they approached him, Gordrak spoke. " Hold here. I'll have two of my Ultras reinforce you. The enemy cannot be allowed to pass. " The two Juggernauts pounded their fists to their chests and then went about preparing a defense. As Gordrak went to reclaim his fallen weapons, he motioned for the juggernauts to use what was left of their kin as cover. Though somewhat reluctant, they agreed and began to stack what bodies they could. It wouldn't matter much in the grand scheme of things but some cover was better than no cover.

Having now ordered two Ultras to reinforce this location, Gordrak continued onward. He would continue to stalk the halls of the vessel until it became clear he was needed somewhere urgent.

Wearing: Resistance Epidermis

Objective: Swamps...

What had Laertia done?

Darth Phyre had barely managed to get herself back under control. The Amalgam was suppressed but she was violently resisting it with every ounce of will she could summon within her own stolen body.

Only channeling the Dark Ritual in the depths of the swamp was helping, but Phyre knew without a doubt the next time she saw Laertia no amount of ritual could keep the Amalgam fully suppressed. She would get out.

With just the request to be kissed, Xiphos had put Phyre's entire existence in jeopardy.

The Brain Demon cultists Mind Hiding Technique wasn't foolproof. The supernaturally based roleplay method had the huge drawback of the risk of getting lost forever in character. And when she had originally invaded the Amalgam's body, eaten her mind and merged with it, even she had been caught off guard by how powerful the personality was. Only the need to draw Julia irrevocably to the Dark Side of The Force and the sheer need to just be near her stayed her hand from outright destroying Amy permanently, wearing the face and shreds of her mind instead.

It was a short sighted decision, in retrospect. Because now that that Persona had regained some independence just to have Julia, Phyre was no longer strong enough to destroy her...they had been integrated too long.

And now they were splitting at the seams.

Julia had managed to inflict a blow more severe than even she had realized.

Phyre sneered as she felt the power of the Sorcerers of Rhand. Pretenders. Phyre, despite being an evil, vicious murderess and slayer of both adult and youngling alike, despised Nihilism. So what if the Universe would end in Blackness? The Maw's arguments for ending everything were nothing but the arguments of losers. People too weak, ultimately, to control this Galaxy all the way to its natural death throes, the way real conquerors aspired to. And rather than just accept that it was their place to be crushed eternally under the boots of those such as herself as the slaves they truly were, they threw what amounted to little more than a suicidal, galactic wide temper tantrum at their inability to accept that most of them were but ants and deserved to be nothing more, all for some vague promise of a new paradise. One where they wouldn't have pesky Force Orders to put them in the place they deserved to be...in chains, serving the whim of said Orders. Dying at the whim of said orders, as was proper and normal.

Phyre had no doubts the Maw would eventually be defeated. Sidious had been defeated by his own callousness and inhumanity in expecting Vader to stand by and watch his Son get murdered. Even Phyre could not dispute this.

Darth Solipsis Darth Solipsis , and his entire faction, would be defeated, in Phyre's opinion, by their own sheer wastefulness. Even the Bryn'adul had only gotten so far before pissing just enough of the right people off and now they were being crushed. It was their wastefulness, the sheer hubris and vanity they displayed in believing that their Dark Gods actually believed them worthy enough to tell any sort of truth to.

If she were their Dark Gods, she'd have just lied to them about being reborn in a new and beautiful universe. She wouldn't give them any sort of rebirth at all, and if she did it would only be the backhanded rebirth of eternal torture. In some universe wide dungeon. Their only relief would be the single minute she would spare every million years to remind them what suckers they were for believing they would be rewarded for doing her bidding. Then she would make the torture even worse than before.

That is how a real Dark God would act towards these pathetic, self destructive worms. Them believing their foolish sacrifices made a Dark God do anything but sneer at the useful idiots making them only illustrated to Phyre why they were worthy only of lifetime subjugation in this reality, before being painfully disposed of in as humiliating and degrading a manner that could possibly be summoned.

Unlike her God, the Unholy Spirit, The Brain Demon, which very clearly stated the rewards for serving it (And the terrible punishments of defying it), and delivered regularly on comprehensible, concrete, gifts of Knowledge and Secrets for devotion, the Maw were selling their souls because Solipsis had a bridge he wanted to sell and a Galaxy to leave in ruins for reasons that made sense to him alone.

Phyre's power in the Dark Side swelled, mighty and rotten in the Force, drawing life into herself from the entire swamp to fuel her ritual in the heart of a half rotted grove in the deep parts of the swamp.

A spell of Darkness was cast. It would not affect her beloved's precious children (Or Eternal Empire warriors) who had sent a few hundred Model 3's armed with DC-12U Rifles and Radiation Grenades to attack the landing site Khaostra Devoid Khaostra Devoid had set foot on. Because the Model 3's, like all Nuetralizers, were highly resistant to Ion damage, it caused occasional glitches in targeting, slow processing speeds and reactions, but otherwise didn't truly stop them, and the Model 2's, Heavy Infantry Nuetralizers who were much more reinforced against Ion damage, it hardly did anything to them at all, and ruthlessly sweapt the landing sites already under Assault with cryogenic chaingun fire and shoulder mounted Charrics, moving ahead of the Model 3's through the swamp to provide cover for their brethren due to vastly thicker armor. But what the Model 3's lacked in armor they made up for with frightening intelligence, many of them moving forward underneath the water still, firing their underwater capable rifles at any encroaching Maw presence. Model 1 Commandos activated a few sensor jammers to try and block the signals of the Maw. They stayed farther back, sniping at any HVT they spotted.

Phyre's presence, her power over this swamp only grew more terrible as she fed on lives stolen. Strong enough and evil enough to attack the minds of every Rhand Sorcerer as well as Khaostra herself, she did so, sending vicious, murderous mental attacks at her and the Sorcerer's at once, her sheer Dark Power attempting to outright rip their minds apart and devour them. One Sorcerer screamed as his mind barrier failed, killed almost instantly from the pain, his soul going to her body to be digested, denying him rebirth, fueling and increasing her strength.

There shall be no rebirth for The Maw... her dark and murderous, condescending voice in The Dark Side sneered at them as she attacked their very souls with terrible strength.

Only digestion in my spiritual stomach. Your Dark Gods are nothing before The TRUE Bogan!

There were way too many points to sabotage, and Tovald couldn’t destroy them all by himself and the defending Bryn kept coming and something is lurking within the walls. But he can’t see it yet. So now he heads to the east of the massive ship. Not aware of the incoming Spiderling. So far nothing has gone wrong, well except for the blood smears from unfortunate borders.

He unintentionally stepped in brain and abdominal matter, Tovald cringed as he shook his foot clean from the mess. This is hellish and terrifying, yet he pressed on focused on his own motivation and objective.

However, there is now a slow beeping noise from his warning systems in his helmet, it was increasing with volume and flashing warnings all over the HUD display. The Ubese suddenly felt very small and exposed. His brother survived Rand and appeared to be his usual unpleasant self. Now it is Tovald’s turn to go to war. The Bryn are a completely different kettle of fish than the Maw.

A sharp implement snagged on his clothing and the corridor blurred as he was thrown by a long-pointed leg, the ground rushed to meet him and Tovald skidded across the ground and stopping a few feet away.

<“Death by Arachnid, how fitting.”> He hissed breathlessly to himself, sarcasm oozing from every syllable. It takes him a few minutes to sit back up, shoulder and legs throbbing uncomfortably. Two pointed legs aimed at his head crashed down where he had been sitting, pieces of his armour now clung to the legs as the Spiderling chased the Ubese down a corridor.

He had to ask himself, why was he running and the aches in his bones from his impromptu flying lesson made it difficult to keep a distance between him and the pursuing Arachnid. He needed a plan and fast. Get it into a dead end and get his sword and Heavy Blaster through the chitin and blast it.

The best bet, for now, is not to get caught or killed. His sharp mind hasn't failed him yet.

If the woman had been like Kessia, she would probably have really enjoyed what was coming next. But Ingrid wasn't like that. Ingrid loved fighting, for her killing someone was also an art, but it did not cause ecstasy; for her it was work and duty, but she was good. The blow and hit, of course, was painful, even for her. She got a lot of bruises on her physical body under her armour. Her bones weren’t really there, so no fractures developed. Nor are internal injuries, as she was only energy, she hasn't any organs anymore.

No, this time the woman didn't stab or cut the man. Not this time. The duo had melee and ranged combat in the past. Ingrid really loved the sniper rifle from a distance, she was a great shooter and aimer; but she was a true master and artist in melee. The Empress loved this much more than the other. It was easy, that was the challenge. But for that, it really took for the man not to have armour. She had to equalize the fight. Of course, she could have easily solved the fight with Force using.

But that wasn't the woman's genre. She was such that she showed as much energy and strength in battle as her opponent was capable of. Because of this, it was not possible to know its true power. She had no intention of humiliating her opponent; she loved fair and good fighting. So she adapted; always adapted. But in cases like this, if she didn’t want to win in an overly insidious way where the other didn’t have a chance, she had to equalize the fights.

Osam may have been her enemy, but it’s already proven in the woman’s eyes. And Ingrid honored him for his fighting skills and abilities. He deserved a worthy fight and death. When the armor fluttered in the direction of the woman, Ingrid did not move, just enduring the blows and holding the man's arm. Of course, with that, her own armour was getting more and more damaged. When the armour stopped fighting and there was barely any vitality in it, or it disappeared, the woman tried to push the man back.

If she succeeded, she tried to "tear off" his armour with a Force Scream.

It seemed that the Bryn'adûl units were no longer trying to get out of the gaps, but trying to keep the troops out from the inside. The 267th deactivated much of the defence systems on the wall, so then something had to be done against the enemy's defences so as not to hinder their own but to help. That’s why it seemed like the best idea is to have even more holes in the wall or destroy the walls completely.

<< The lure is already ineffective; they will not come out to fight us anymore. Start creating new gaps or tipping down the walls and push inward with full force. Pull them back from the outside! >> said the order.

Meanwhile, the assassins got deeper and deeper into the complex, thanks to the fact that almost everyone outside was busy fighting.

The droids also began to signal from inside the area that fighting had begun in several places, as sounds testified about this as well. The 267th moved. Undead, living people, machines, droids, walkers. The outer perimeter was drawn inward. The enemy was present; there was no need to wait any longer. It was everywhere, everyone walked into the trap. And the Eternal Empire waited just for that minute. This was needed for the second phase to begin. Troops can begin to pull inward from outer circles to squeeze the enemy into the middle of the area.

Cal smiled at Isla's response; the man was not religious, in this he was a perfect HPI citizen if one looked at Terraris as a basis. And he did not believe in the superiority of the Force either. He saw how the fight was evolving. The drones flew out, which he sent out and turned away from the battlefield. There were no warrior machines, no armament; they really only served for reconnaissance. They headed for the designated targets, if anyone attacked them, they could be easily destroyed, they were just fast and manoeuvred well, but they didn’t have weapons and their armour wasn’t good either. As the fighting didn’t seem to be the best, he reopened the channel to the other commanders.

Objective: Beasts in the Trap,
Location: Brotherhood of the Maw Base Camp - Aerial

The success of the fighter wing’s initial attack run was offset with the sacrifice of roughly 12 of their number, with the Maw transports countering with anti-starfighter armaments. The initial surprise of the attack rendered their attacks less accurate then they would have been had they been on a more prepared footing, but this was again offset by the more compact formation the wing began the assault with, which made it easier for the weaponry to find purchase. The main force attacking the landing craft maneuvered about in a figure-eight pattern after completing their initial pass, this time adjusting their formation to spread out and minimize the damage of the anti-starfighter weaponry. The Lancer squadrons would begin their attack again, strafing the prone cruisers with a combination of laser fire and proton torpedoes, targeting the anti-aircraft weapons and also trying to draw the attention of whichever batteries survived from the bombers following them. The bombers hung lower on this pass, which would make it harder for the turrets to traverse and accurately track them as they dropped their payload once again with far more accuracy and intent. This would be followed by the remainder of the fighters, who would focus their fire specifically on the anti-aircraft armaments to hopefully disable (or severely cripple) the Maw’s ability to stave off their third pass.

Meanwhile, the three squadrons that continued their harassing of the Maw forces followed the retreating survivors as they made their way deeper into the forest, hoping to take advantage of the tree cover. The Wing Commander caught sight of minor ripples as some of their laser bolts impacted at what should have been the dirt. The pilot wasn’t sure how the Maw were able to raise a shield barrier when he could have sworn they disabled the main generator at the base camp, but he also was fairly certain given this wasn’t the first time his shots impacted against a deflector shield. He radioed to his squad:
”Aurek-squad, form on my wing. Prime your proton torpedoes and prepare to fire on my mark.”

Despite the dense tree coverage, his sensors had picked up a handful of sentients taking cover within what appeared to be the shield barrier, but he knew how to fix that fairly quickly. Once his squadron formed up (while the remaining two continued their strafing runs), he led them into a vertical ascension directly above the area of the shield barrier, minimizing the effect of the tree cover save for a few errant branches between their vector and the tops of the Maw party’s heads. After gaining enough distance, he quickly engaged his flaps and disengaged his thrusters, allowing his fighter to fall backward with its nose heading for the ground. His squadron did the same, which meant that 12 Lancer fighters were baring down on the Maw position. ”Sync your targeting computers to me, and fire on my mark.” His squad’s comm frequency blipped with numerous acknowledgements as he stared down at the approaching surface. He couldn’t entirely rely on his targeting sensors given the increasingly ionized atmosphere, but if he couldn’t hit a motionless target on a straight approach vector - then he might as well crash his ship right then and there.

”Mark!”

At once, twelve proton torpedoes screamed from twelve Lancer fighters at approximately 200 meters above the ground, the ordnance screaming down to the pinging bubble of energy housing the group of force users in a straight, tight cluster. As soon as the squadron loosed their payload, they immediately pulled upward, the bottom of their hulls scraping the treetops as they came about to analyze the impact of their attack, which should overwhelm any shield barrier of that size, and likely the occupants within it.

Objective: Shoot Them Down from the Sky

Location: Elements of the Reclamation Fleet, 20th Heavy Assault Line - Commodore Aximand Sicarus commanding

Equipment: Callides-class Heavy Carrier, Commodore Uniform, Nelvaanian Longsword (Sheathed), Sidearm (Reference character sheet)

”Keep the pressure up! I want those Butcherers down!” Aximand ordered with a resolve that could force a small moon to buckle from the strength of it, even amidst the counter-batteries impacting against his own fleet in turn. The Eternal Fleet continued their inexorable exchange of raw firepower between itself and the Bryn’adul, specifically upon the two superweapon-toting cruisers. Amidst it all, the Commodore added: ”Load the firespray warhead launchers with ACPR munitions and open fire.” As if the weight of fire already wasn’t enough, the firespray warhead launchers armed with their armor-penetrating rounds would make quick work of even the heaviest of armor plating, or at the very least soften the density enough for the rest of the arsenal to achieve maximum effectiveness. As the onslaught continued, Commander Praxxis walked over to Aximand to relay some interesting findings.

”Sir, I’ve been looking into what intelligence we have gathered over the Bryn’adul fleet, and you may be interested to know - if we focus our fire on their main battery, we should be able to disable it - or even potentially force it into catastrophic failure.” Aximand fixed the Commander with a look that indicated it would have been quite fortuitous to have that knowledge from the outset of the engagement. Rather than fixating over what could have been, Aximand turned his attention to the comms station again.

”Relay to the squadrons. Focus all firepower upon the main armament of the Butcherers. If we can’t destroy the cursed-things with the next few volleys, we frakking well will keep them from picking us off one by one.” The order was relayed in due course, with all firepower within range (including the firespray warhead launchers loaded with ACPR ordnance) unleashed another salvo upon the two ships. If that was not enough to down the ships, the bombers and fighters would begin their attack run, strafing the joints and weak points of the superweapon embedded within the ship’s structure. Several of the bombers would begin an attack run on the weapon itself, aiming their Javelin torpedoes and firing them down the metaphorical ‘gullet’ of the superweapon en-masse.

Upon receiving the communique from Admiral Osborn, Aximand quickly responded:
”Sir, I would request that you remain in formation with us, but if you were to target the Conquestors near the back of their formation, that would also be appreciated.” It was imperative the Eternal Fleet remain in formation, as Aximand had the distinct impression they had not as of yet gained the full measure of the enemy fleet’s strength. If they broke ranks now, they could easily be caught unaware should reinforcements arrive. Aximand would not commit his full strength until he had confidence the Bryn’adul fleet was also fully engaged.

  • Planet-side fighter wing is continuing to strafe and bombard the Maw landers, with the three squadrons that were strafing the straggler Maw forces heading into the treeline continuing their assault via their sensors.
  • The Wing Commander and his squadron have launched a deadly salvo of proton torpedoes upon the force-barrier the Maw Shaman has erected, which at best would likely disable the barrier and severely wound/disrupt those inside, and whatever ritual they were performing.
  • The Revenant has taken small amounts of continual damage, as it is assumed the Conquestors are still firing upon it, albeit with a severely reduced level of effectiveness given they have retreated for repairs.
  • The Oberon has taken glancing damage as well from the Conquestors
  • The Eternal Fleet has continued its onslaught against the butcherers, arming their modular Firespray Warhead Launchers with ACPR warheads, along with their previous volley of mass drivers, cruise missiles, and other long range ordnance listed in my first post.
  • The second fighter wave is specifically targeting the superweapons aboard the Butcherers should they survive the repeated salvos from the Eternal Fleet. If they do not, they will abide by the previous orders given to attack the Conquestors.

Allies: The Bryn
Foes: Not The Bryn
Objective: BYOO
Forces:

The Lothal Guard- Veteran Bryn soldiers loyal To Sethrak
Warlocks (30x)- Force wielding ground commanders loyal to The First Warlock (Sethrak)

"The Killing Grounds", inside The Nether

Sethrak ran his spear through yet another faceless being. It was one of seemingly hundreds he had defeated so far during the hike up the hill, and looking above him he could see that the battle was far from over. Thousands of foes were flying down the hill toward The Warlock and his forces. The opponents were certainly unique, an enigma of sorts...they were all faceless, with blurred out areas where their face would be, but their species was always clear. Some were wookies, some were Mon Cala, many were humans or human-like, and some were creatures....all victims of The Bryn conquest. Though the Bryn had dedicated many resources to learn about this place, in the end little was known. The only known fact was that this place was a creation of The Force that connected the living world to the world of the dead. These were spirits, created from The Force, apparently to have revenge on The Bryn'adul. That's what made Sethrak believe Tathra Khaeus was here.

After another few minutes of fighting, The Bryn reached the top. It was a glorious event, as The Lothal Guard took time during the ceaseless fight to let out battle cries. This accomplishment had replenished their energy, many went from walking to sprints, cutting down foe after foe, using every weapon in their arsenal to conquer the hill. This rush wouldn't last long, but it was a game changer as within minutes the Bryn reached the midpoint between the top of The Hill and the downwards slope, leading to the plains.

But Sethrak knew their situation. They were at the top of the mountain, but they were really only half way up....

Whether the Bryn survived or perished was irrelevant to the grander plan already set well in motion by the time of the Eternal Empire's arrival on Danuta, she wasn't here to ensure that the tribal species survived their encounter with the enemy superpower - rather to ensure that key figures of the encroaching Empire were suitably deterred from trying to pursue their trend towards pointless heroics. Every choice she made in regards to this conflict were for the benefit of the Sith, if it had been a simple land dispute - some territorial squabble - or a circumstance in which a shot at someone important on an influential level was impossible then there would have been no appearance made by the Sith lord.

A chance to dissuade these imperials from their idealistic goals, or at least their leaders, was reason enough, however, and aiding the Bryn seemed to be the only, or at least most direct, path towards this.

Eina L'lerim-Vandiir Eina L'lerim-Vandiir hadn't been her initial target of interest, in fact her mother had been, but coincidence and chance had a way of playing these out in such a manner that her true target evaded her reach and offered her another opportunity. The two were, at this point at least, perhaps unaware of the other - both within the towering superstructure built by these brutes for intimidation and strategic reasons - but fate had a way of guiding opposites towards each other.

It was just a matter of when.

equipment: harm mass production armor (compromised), FS-18-X01 Omega Phase Assault Rifle with top-mounted flamethrower (broken). thermal detonator (used) and Vibro knife

Ghost noted the chaos over comms before looking to his units who remained to mabie 10-15 biodroids left for the fight.

"Okay listen up chuckle feths! We're cut off from most of our allies, instead of linking up we're gonna push down a floor and attempt to blow the engines. let's move!"

Hoofing it they began to work their way down from the aft deck to the lower sections of the ships meeting resistance as they moved.

By the time they were right above the engine room, they had dropped in numbers by half those that remained were hesitant of following Ghost any further due to the suicide mission.
"fr-ghost, were not immortal like you we don't want to die can we just regroup with the others and mabie regroup to retake this area?"

Ghost looked to the biodroid who made an audible gulp. "Give me your detpacks...your right your not like me and for your sake, I hope it stays that way as Immortality isn't something worth the mental pain. Give me your detpacks and anyone who wishes to follow you if your quick you'll be able to link up with the others back at our breach point." Ghost would receive 3 detpacks as a small group peeled off leaving him with 2 others.

As they made their way into the bowls of the ships engine room they heard the pitter patter of a unknown creature. "Knuckle up scarecrows! we have company!" getting into triangle formation the were acusted by a group of Spiderlings first one jumping on one of the biodroids its speerlike apendiges plumited into the back of their armor peircing the light armor and into the armored plates of the biodroid causing it to let out a pained scream

ghost and his other biodroid would ignite their top-mounted flame thrower and begin hosing the creatures with holy fire. When the other biodroid stopped firing he turned to yell at him only to be coated in the biomass and synthetic organs as they were ripped apart at the waist by the last spiderling. shooting the first in front of him with the shotgun part of his gun the creature would let out a shriek of pain before receiving to more doses of buckshot ending its life before he turned his gun to the other spiderling.

Ghost would get his weapon knocked out of his hand and crushed by two spiderlings hiding in the room. with three on one frank hesitated before the wounded biodroid on the ground get his attention. "Ghost give me your thermal detinator and run!" Ghost looked to the biodroid on the ground. taking out his thermal detinator. flinching as the spiderlings made a swipe at him.

"ghost!, toss it Im already dead, might as well go out In a blaze of glory." ghost felt a pain in his chest as one of the spiderings made another swipe connecting with his armor and making its way up removing his maks and leaving a gash along his face.

sending Ghost sprawling back he rolled the detinator to the biodroid as he retreated from the room. as a explosion would rock the engine room momtents later. however with more of those things being heared he pulled out his vibro knife. "To the nether with all of you! you have to work for your meal!" he stated taking up a fighters stance hoping that someone would be able to come to his rescue. with his helmet gone however anyone would see the scarred up face of someone once known as Frank.
