SPECIAL FEATURES
Strengths:
  • Strong Construction -
    • Jaeger Solutions made no mistake in producing a quality boot for their customers, as each and every model of the Greitis is run through severe trial testing for quality concerns. With each made up of layers of threaded Duralumin, there is an unbelievably strong makeup to defend one’s feet in any situation. Secondly, each is equipped with a full toed protection made of star destroyer quality durasteel, able to hold up anything that would otherwise crush your foot with relative ease. This, added in with its FrictionGrip coating for climbing ability, and the sheath that lies on the inside of each boot for either a knife or holdout blaster helps create an artistic expression of war on the battlefield few others actually see. In its entirety, the ‘Greitis’ is more a gift to soldiers, than just another product.
  • Tactical Repertoire -
    • As with every Jaeger Solutions product, a series of offensive and defensive capabilities were added in. The Greitis is no different, as every portion of it is entirely made to be combat effective in all scenarios. First, each is loaded up with a servo motor mounted vibroblade beneath the durasteel toe protection, meant to kicking someone and instead of straight kinetic damage, more permanent stab. Similar to traditional knuckle plate vibroblades utilized by the Katarn Class Combat armor, only more situated for boots. Next is the Dampener Aerosol Holdout, a last ditch defensive effort meant to help shroud a single person in a very small cloud of blaster nerfing gas; turning an otherwise fatal shot into no more than a painful slap. This does however come with its own set of limits, quantity being the most noticeable as it is a completely one shot one use weapon.
  • Godspeed, Men -
    • To most noticeable feature about the Greitis Class Combat boot is easily its unique mixture of militarized repulsorlifts in the ball of each foot, while the outside holds a powerful Mitrinomon jetpack thruster meant to hold up the user for a prolonged period of time. Notably used by Cad Bane during his bounty hunting uses, these boots follow in suit through a few of their own adjustments. With both in tow, the use of them as a means of support becomes far easier by more traditional means, and more convenient.

Now, the repulsorlift on the ball of the foot it not nearly strong enough to actually lift the user in itself; as the jetpack is meant to do so by itself. Infact, the Repulsorlift has only enough strength to provide accuracy counterbalancing based on a small computer meant to learn the user’s ‘auto balancing’ reactions to properly coordinate with them for proper learning. In addition, each can assist in forcing the user to have a greater length in each of his strides, something that works as a secondary boost to their already heavy footfalls; exponentially increasing the rate at which they can move. This however does run over into the territory of defense for the intelligent and resourceful user; as each repulsorlift can double as a means of making any normal kick into something massive and destructive to the lightly protected limb; something somewhat similar to the experimental grav glove made by Vanir Technologies.

Weaknesses:
  • Complicated Engineering -
    • Packing so much into a singular boot is difficult to say the least, and that problem comes across two fold. The first fall in league with Jaeger Solutions historic reputation of difficult to utilize and semi-complicated products, something that falls outside the traditional market for the poor militias of revolutionary planets and almost solely in the more capable hands of professional standing armies of various factions across the galaxy; something Jaeger doesn’t mind. The other however is something a bit more problematic; As each boot comes off the line there is extensive quality testing to ensure each works at the peak performance at all times; however there is the troubling concern that prolonged field testing results in a negative reaction. Boot malfunctions, repulsorlift feedbacks, and unaccounted for errors in an otherwise flawless product. This can be a danger for the traditional soldier, and even a death send for those who witness a malfunction in the heat of brutal combat.
  • Tie the Laces -
    • Unlike any other combat boot on the market, this is a difficult product to simply give out to traditional soldiers. While most could be strapped on and utilized on a grand scale with no secondary incurred costs, the Greitis is something that requires a long time to fully train and utilize to its maximum ability. Even if soldiers don’t utilize the jetpacks on each, the fact that a repulsorlift is designed to increase their momentum and prowess on the field can often be too much to the uncoordinated; resulting in a reduced market to the uninitiated of combat. This boot, as a result, is almost entirely exclusive to smaller more elite forces than wide spread numbers despite the production level. More than anything, the boot is made for an advantage in war, but not all can handle what that may come with.
  • I Can’t Do That, Dave -
    • Due to the automation of each boot, and the internal processors and computations provided by Aegis Systems, there is an almost odd weakness in these boots not found in nearly any other. Each boot is hackable, meaning that the smart fighting force could potentially cause any advantage the boot would give to fail, or worse act in direct opposition to the user. Meaning if even a singular boot was told to activate its jetpack at an impromptu time, the entire system would go out of whack forcing the wearer to lift off their balanced position, partly into the air, and in an otherwise compromised position. This alone is enough to steer many of the would be buyers away, leave alone the entire area of weakness the boots have from traditional ion attacks. While a faraday cage is in place to avoid most traditional attacks, there is a still the vexing issue of feedback loops forcing the person in question to fail at whatever task it is they seek; falling from the sky being one of the most notable.

DESCRIPTION
"In league with Jaeger Solutions unruly reputation, they have once again created a product to rival even the greatest inventions across the galaxy. A boot that opens up an entire realm of tactile responses for the everyday soldier that is capable of wearing them. Today, Jaeger Solutions released the Greitis Boot after a period of hiatus for unknown reasons. Coming back onto the market with this is a good sign for the position of their stocks following a move into space unknown, as much of their production, distribution, and management has disappeared into the darkness of wild space. Although future estimates show that Jaeger Solutions may still grow exponentially, it is their reputation alone that has kept them afloat thus far, and economic advisors tell us mixed results on the future of the company."
- Galaxy News, Circa 835 ABY
Just as much of the news has claimed, Jaeger Solutions surprises many with a new reveal of another armor product. Jaeger now releases a boot in the same train of thought as the Vambraces they had let loose on the market months prior. With exceptional success, the second one they’ve made is capable of everything they’ve hoped and more. Between jet boots and anti aerosol cans, to something more traditional as armor weaves and boot plates; the boots have something for everyone. In combat, they will appear unparalleled than more traditional products, but as all things they are entirely up to the user than anything else.

Is there a way to manage the mass production value via re-balancing? My initial retort would be the versatility of the MV-18 "Force" Class Vambraces made prior; something allowed at mass production that allows a large tactile arsenal for use. The end decision is yours, but my preference would still remain Mass Production; if achievable.

You probably know this but each sub is judged on its own merit.

As for reworking for mass-produced- I like the 'auto balance' thing cause I think it is what it makes this boots different. So I'd rather see this stay but the aerosol and something else needs to go. Perhaps use less durable materials? Durasteel? Something that seems more sensible for mass produce to me.

Thoughts?

Removed the Aerosol and dropped the Impervium Toe down to Durasteel; though the Duralumin is strictly based off canon boots mentioned in Primary Sources.

Does this sit well with you?

  • This is likely leftover flowery language, but Impervium is a restricted material and if it is at all used, the material section needs to reflect that, and production must be dropped to unique. (Or semi-unique if using a T6 company.) Otherwise please remove that material.

expensive and complicated products
  • This is not a weakness if the production is mass-produced.
If these boots have any kind of resistances whatsoever in an armor capacity this needs to utilize the armor template.

Please remember to include a summary of changes and modifications made to this sub and be sure to tag a Factory Staff member when you are ready to have this moved over once again for live judgment

Hi John Locke John Locke , this is all done.

The following changes were made:
  • Fixed Links
  • Fixed Formatting
  • Rebalanced Weight to 'Very Light' to compensate for modern factory balance.
  • Added MagnaSoles
  • Changed 'Hueristic Process/Gabonna Memory Crystal' to 'B-10 "Tensai" Droid Brain'
