SPECIAL FEATURES
STRENGTHS
  • Agility First: Designed with agility in mind, Viper Skinsuits do nothing to impede mobility - quite the contrary, as they make climbing easier.
  • Energy Dispersal: Carefully designed from the sturdiest variants of Gildenweave available interlaced with cortosis, Viper Skinsuits are able to shrug off significant blasterfire, though charrics and the like are a different matter altogether, see "Energy Transference".
  • Lightsabers Begone: Thanks to the cortosis-lattice woven into its surface Viper Skinsuits are able to resist and briefly disable lightsabers; as higher quantities of cortosis would be prohibitively expensive, two or three hits from a lightsaber is likely to quite literally melt these suits.
WEAKNESSES
  • Energy Transference: Skin-tight as they are, Viper Skinsuits offer little to no protection from the transferal of kinetic energy; that vibroblade or slugthrower round may not necessarily penetrate, but it will sure as hell hurt. Better hope your bones are sturdy.
  • Exotic Weaponry: Viper Skinsuits offer no protection whatsoever from disruptors; even a glancing hit will make them disintegrate.
DESCRIPTION
Building upon the foundation laid by the Tactical Turtleneck™ in order to create, well, proper armour, Glimmersteel's engineers incorporated a certain amount of cortosis into the cloth and militarised the base design so as to make it seem less "posh bastard" more "skilful operative".

Compared to the market for the Tactical Turtleneck™ upon which it is based, the Viper Skinsuit has succeeded in drawing actual militaries to its sleek and capable design, in addition to corporate contracts and rich people playing at war; while this would, in theory, greatly expand its potential market share, the simple fact that cortosis is bloody expensive generally prevents it from being worn by the rank-and-file...

... not that the average soldier would be eagre to adopt a skin-tight piece of synthsilk offering minimal protection against kinetic force.
