SPECIAL FEATURES

  • Living Armor - Both the Ravager Brute hide and the mesh created by the Kraemonen Hivemind are explicitly alive. While the Brute Hide is simply "alive" in the literal sense, the Kraemonen Hivemind and the subsequent mesh created by their bodies are fully sentient and capable of exerting themselves and assisting the armor's wearer. While the Brute Hide may be severely damaged, it is incapable of suffering shock from its wounds thanks to a number of nerve-stapling procedures. As such, it requires immense damage to truly kill. Otherwise, it may be able to begin receiving healing after a battle has concluded.

  • Mindstone Link - A mindstone has been carefully implanted within the base of the suit's spine which is utilized by the Kraemonen Hivemind and the armor's wearer to communicate both with themselves and to better assess the status of the hide. The Mindstone further allows communication between either the Hivemind or the wearer with other mindstones on the battlefield. This enables one of the pair to focus entirely upon fighting while the other can deal with battlefield coordination or diagnostics on either the hide or the other sapient suit-member. When both focus upon sending a message, it may be amplified with a greater signal than one can perform individually.

  • Reflexive - Composed of living hide and flesh, the Vessel may react to damage before either the Hivemind or the suit's wearer have fully processed the situation. This means that the first blaster bolt in a trio may be enough to cause the hide to duck for cover, or the first sting of a knife may cause it to lash out in retaliation.

  • Kraemonen Bond - By utilizing Kraemonen to hold the inner portions of the armor together and to allow it to function beyond a twitching mass of meat, the armor also has an inherent degree of modularity. Any other equipment which relies heavily upon Kraemonen presence or influence may be bound into the suit's hivemind and utilized by both the wearer and their aide.

  • Utility Pockets - Built into the flesh are a number of utility pockets, straps, organic holsters, and other places where tools and weapons may be carried with relative ease.

  • Injectors - The Kraemonen Hivemind is privy to a number of injectors that may be utilized to boost both the armor's wearer and the hide. These are often medical or chemical in nature, applying common Bryn'adul ointments, hemostatic materials, adrenal boosters, regenerative material, or any number of Draelvasier physiological components such as blood, tissues, and the assorted acids of the body.

  • Inbuilt Quilxyn Protector - The nearly ubiquitous Quilxyn Protector is utilized by forces of the Bryn'adul to combat environmental threats such as extreme heat, cold, or pathogens. The Protector held within the gut of the armor performs a similar task, guaranteeing that the armor and its wearer remain safe from these threats.

STRENGTHS

    • Quilxyn Protector - The presence of a Quilxyn Protector held within the abdomen of the armor allows for the wearer of the armor to effectively block out the effects of pathogens and extreme temperatures. While this is less effective against projectiles such as flamethrowers or Cryoban which possess great speed, it will still gradually nullify whatever munitions of these weapons attach themselves to the armor and subsequently remain within its field.

    • In-built Medication - The presence of so many injectors and the presence of the mindstone allowing for rapid diagnosis of the hide, the Kraemonen, and the armor's user means that the Kraemonen Hivemind may provide immediate medical assistance and biological boosters to the hide and the armor's wearer, guaranteeing that they remain healthy and stable on the battlefield.

    • Living Flesh - The hide is alive and is capable of utilizing its exceptional reaction speed to automatically take cover or retaliate against close foes before either the hivemind or the wearer is aware of what is happening. Furthermore, as the hide has been carefully designed to survive wounding, it is very difficult to fully kill and may be rejuvenated - as this process takes time, it could only be conducted on the field if supervised by powerful Force-sensitive healers (PCs).

    • Split Attention - Either the Kraemonen or the wearer of the armor may seize majority control of the hide at the acquiescence of the other party while they focus on other matters. This allows for one party to deal with battlefield communication and analysis utilizing the mindstone while the other works full-time to fight off aggressors. The close proximity of the mindstone allows for nigh instantaneous telepathic communication between these parties with one another, further optimizing their ability to cooperate.

    • Shatter - The Kraemonen, known for their extreme strength often lends this power to the armor's wearer, allowing them to exert truly exceptional degrees of force and momentum both in combat and out of it. This can lead to punches that shatter durasteel or to leaps several stories upward or across.

    • Unpierced - Ravager Brutes are known for possessing the durability of heavy walkers and other forms of tank. The skin that makes up the Vessel does not carry quite this level of resistance but is nevertheless extremely resistant both to blasters, lightsabers, and kinetic force. Even weapons of truly heinous destructive strength that do manage to pierce this over-layer may struggle to cut through both it and the underlayer of Kraemonen - though this would clearly cause damage to the hivemind which coordinates a number of the suit's functions. The presence of a steady stream of lactic acids and organic shock absorbers prevents most blunt force trauma. Most.

    • Modularity - The Vessel has been designed with the addition of future Kraemonen equipment in mind. What form this equipment will take is yet to be seen, but these tools may be bound to the flesh within roughly an hour and removed without harm after an additional hour. This means that the Vessel may be adapted to suit different battlefield conditions.
WEAKNESSES

    • Draelvasier - At its base, the living hide of the Ravager Brute is merely an extremely mutated Draelvasier. This means that any form of bio-weapon that would typically affect the Draelvasier may badly damage or potentially kill the hide - if it can get through the field of the Quilxyn Protector.

    • Reactionary - The living nature of the hide means that it will occasionally react to reflex faster than either the Kraemonen or the armor's wearer are able. While this can be suppressed if either of them is aware that something is likely to trigger this response, it has a bad habit of lashing out at threats or ducking for cover before either of the two have properly assessed the situation.

    • Grotesque - The stinking and steadily undulating meat of the Flesh Vessel can sting the nostrils, and easily alert foes to its presence through nothing more than squelching noise and odor. It is incredibly difficult to sneak about in the Vessel.

    • Weak Point - Not all portions of the armor are created equally: The Quilxyn Protector located near the abdomen serves as a weak point for the armor which enemies may use to disable both its ability to suppress pathogen and elemental forces, and to gain access to the less-resistant Kraemonen layer.

    • Beacon of Life - The Flesh Vessel contains two sapient minds and a third unthinking life. Any sort of life sensor will be able to detect it with ease, and it radiates a significant amount of thermal energy. All three of these entities require air, and there is no in-built atmosphere.

    • Backdoor - The hide, though thoughtless is still alive, and may be interacted with via telepathy. As both the Kraemonen and the suit's wearer are also connected through the suit's mindstone to the hide, this may be a method of intrusively lashing out at either of them with greater effectiveness via telepathic abilities. Combined together, they may be able to resist this attack: but that would mean abandoning all other suit functions - becoming a still target in a warzone can hardly be considered a great victory.

    • Shocking - The Flesh Vessel has been designed to resist a number of conventional attacks, but it has not been prepared for dealing with electrical shock. Whether as a result of the inherent weakening associated with melding the ravager hide, or the close proximity that all three organisms share with one another, any electrocution against the armor is able to conduct through it and wreak damage against all three life-forms.

    • Bulky - Composed of thick and heavy musculature and hide with little give, the Vessel is fairly bulky. While this is not a severe disadvantage, it does mean that it cannot be used to fit through tight spaces such as vents or crawlspaces.
DESCRIPTION
History
At the onset of the Invasion of Sev Tok, Osam was promoted to the position of Warlord and given control over the worlds which held the new alien races which had only recently begun to join the Bryn'adul on their Crusade. This included the world of Traedaris, home of the Ungulloi, and what would quickly become the primary base of operations for many of the Warlord's projects.

Filled with a desire for vengeance against the Jedi of the Silver Concord and the Mandalorian warriors who fought alongside them, and filled with fright and fear over facing continued evisceration at the end of their lightsabers; an occurrence that had happened twice in the past, the Warlord set about the development of a special project that would accomplish many purposes. First and foremost was to provide a capable suit of armor that could allow for better retaliation against the Jedi threat.

Second, however, was a way both of displaying his position as Warlord so that he could more readily command his newly acquired forces on the battlefield, and to bring the new races into the fold in the process so that they would know that he would fight any conservative element that wanted to keep them sequestered into a meager support role.

The use of heavier suits of armor was considered, but while the Verikast and Malabast of many of these might have been suitable for deflecting lightsaber blows, they were ultimately immensely heavy, designed primarily for the use of members of the Baedurin race, or else others whose strength exceeded that of the Risen-Sraelvun. Subsequently, Osam was forced to look into more peculiar and esoteric materials for the suit... and a means of amplifying both his control of it and of the battlefield.

The birth of the Flesh Vessel followed. The mutation of a mere series of chunks of Draelvasier flesh into the notable Ravager Brute hide, and the subsequent melding together of this hide was an intense process. Guaranteeing that each of the pieces would be absorbed into the larger mass while still retaining the peculiar shape of a humanoid was a matter for the talents of the Aeravalin scientists and the Ungulloi artificers who worked day and night to produce the new meat carapace.

Subsequent binding of a willing Kraemonen Hivemind to portions of the Vessel's underlayer allowed for the sudden introduction of exceptional strength and maneuverability where otherwise there would have been only the heavy and highly impervious hide. Furthermore, Osam had managed to solve his other two issues: With the Kraemonen analyzing the battlefield on his behalf, he would be able to sharpen his command efforts while demonstrating to all of his subordinates that he was a Warlord who supported the addition of the new races wholeheartedly.

Function
There are three primary functions that the armor is meant to accomplish:
  1. Combat - The armor is clearly designed to provide advantages in battle. These are primarily resistance-based, meaning that the wearer is able to resist being wounded from varying sources of damage. The armor is, however, also meant to amplify its wearer's strength a few dozen-fold to the point that they are able to perform feats of immense strength and agility. These are ultimately "focused" actions requiring the assistance of the Kraemonen and the direction of the wearer. The injectors dispersed throughout the suit are primarily medical, but also include chemicals meant to serve as stimulants and assorted battlefield drugs.
  2. Respect - The armor is meant to properly suit the position of its wearer as Warlord, and thus engender responses of loyalty and respect. It also distinguishes the Warlord from others on the battlefield for the purposes of coordination and for issuing challenges to, particularly dangerous opponents. Essentially, it serves to bolster the pride and charisma of its wearer.
  3. Command - The ability of the Kraemonen Hivemind within the armor to take control of the armor at the behest of the Warlord allows for both sapient parties to split their attention on different issues. This means that one of the two can sit back and analyze situations or coordinate troops while the other deals with combat, or they can both focus on one objective to accomplish it with better efficacy.

Wow, what a read, but totally worth it! I really love this armour, very nicely made and detailed. However I found a few small problems:
  • Because the materials are quite unique, I mean Bryn specials, so please link them.
  • The second, the amour is underpowered (-3), if you want you can fix it, or you can keep this ratings.
That's all, please let me know if you edited these.

I've gone ahead and redone the links so that they're in both the "Primary Link" and "Materials" sections for the sake of convenience. The Kraemonen "mesh" is not really a substance or textile so much as it is the bodies of the Kraemonen forming their own layer.

I'm surprised I messed up the balancing! Thought I'd finally gotten a hang of the balance sheet and everything too! I went ahead and bumped Kinetic up to Extreme, and Radiation up to average. That ought to afford me a point still, but frankly having the three most common weapon types already at Extreme seems strong enough for me, and I'm fine with not spending the bonus point.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do to make this more acceptable, and thank you for your kind words on the armor! :)

Full balance is not required, you can stay with underpowered too if you it feel it right. I just have to ask, you want this, or not. And a little help, because I see you don't know about the spreadsheet:
  • If you're not sure how the balance working you can find the Technology Spreadsheet here. You need to copy to your drive first, and after this you're able to use it.
I hope this could help in your future submissions. Enjoy your new armour!
