Admiral of the Ghost Fleet
The events of Dressel had been something few had expected... an ancient vessel was one thing... origin unknown... fine easy to handle and they were use to it. The House Io ships were strong and armored more then anything but they lacked firepower to punch through some of their solid shields and the experience... Still Sala'dine and the second fleet should have been there shadowing the jedi fleet and others as they did. THe ghost fleet designed and made to move between the other ships and effectively. The Kenobi fleet and other fleets operated vastly differently as the Windsor came out of hyperspace... the large HUB ship was a military vessel with the scope of their training and manufacturing facilities on it and several other stations that were cloaked and hidden throughout the galaxy as needed. So she had listened to Tychus who oversaw and commanded the Kenobi fleet... a meeting of the minds of the silver concords navy would hopefully be able to coordinate and come up with a few new procedures if House Io was going to be a threat. Sala'dine would have to get a chance as well since Viera Kisep Viera Kisep to her would be most helpful. Refreshments were there as well as things for pilots to test out and try different ships across the fleets... sharing information with them and with any assembly or jedi who wished to come and join them.

CD-NX SELONIA

The young Anzat cradled a cup of spiced tea in his hands.

The warmth of the beverage radiated through the porcelain. Adjusting his posture in the chair that was decidedly larger than he was, the tow-headed boy crossed his legs as he gently blew on the steaming beverage.

Holographic displays illuminated the bridge around him. The graphics at the front of the bridge depicted a tactical laydown of the system, with the Silver Jedi ships flying in a formation.

House Io may be bad for insurance prices on Kashyyyk -- or the galaxy in general for that matter -- but one thing was clear: House Io was very good for business. Particularly when that business was making ships that could stand up to a fight.

...plus, the ships that he was peddling had originally been built for the Agents of Chaos. The smaller ones anyway. And since no one had heard from them in some time, suffice to say they weren't buying many ships these days.

The ship he was on, the compact battlecruiser with uprated armor and layered defenses for staying power in a protracted ship-to-ship engagement had been laid down for sale to the First Order. And then Dosuun had fizzled out on the galactic stage.

It went without saying, Her Majesty wasn't exactly buying many battlecruisers these days.

So he was peddling ships to the Jedi now. Now, usually he'd be skeptical at selling anything to Jedi -- he knew all too well they didn't have real money -- but with Matsu Ike Matsu Ike at the highest levels of the Concord's leadership, he at least knew there was someone on the Silver side who understood business.

...and was also one of his largest private shareholders. So, technically also his boss.

In any event, the boy was there to convince the Jedi to buy some ships. For great justice. And also a great fourth quarter.

Gingerly taking a sip of the tea, the boy savored the flavor for a moment. "Have the wraiths form up in a wing," the boy remarked, as he lowered the cup back down. "Move the light carrier at the rear of the formation," he added. The Spectre-class excelled at long-range bombardment. And that positioning would also allow the Spectre to provide lookout for the Selonia's blind spot.

"Sentinel at the vanguard position."

Another quick sip.

"Standby to launch our fighters," the boy noted, amending the order as he added, "But keep the Spectre's in reserve for now."

Now he'd wait and see just what kind of war games the Silvers had in mind for this exercise.

Ackdool-class Star Defender Red Redemption

Gir idly paced the bridge, walking around the central holo-projector with his hands clasped behind his back. His eyes seemed glued to the projected task force, with the mammoth Red Redemption surrounded by a school of smaller vessels ranging from an only slightly smaller but much faster light star destroyer to diminutive medical corvettes. Nearly all of the vessels present had the flowing organic lines typical of mon calamari engineering - a testament to the exiled mon calmari engineers from Hast led by Salmakk Salmakk who designed the majority of Lucerne Lab's vessels - yet they all varied highly in their philosophy and use. Rather than focus down on a single archtype to fill for all of their vessel classes, the latest of Lucerne Labs's vessels sought to diversify their design choices wildly between the different classes of vessels to make a fleet of versatile ships that could adapt to changes on the go - perhaps the Loci Strike Frigates took that concept to the extreme with its module system, capable of being outfitted with anything from stealth engines and expansive shields to gravity well projectors and extra warhead launchers. The company had made some further advances in other minor systems, from command and control systems to life support and new weapons systems.

Ideally, the demonstration should be formidable.

But that was ideally.

Some of the vessels had been tested in true combat, but never in large groups, and not yet against a well-equipped fleet from a major galactic power.

He would be curious to see where some of the other major players in the defense industry within the Concord were evolving their fleets. Sometimes even just encountering more friendly designs could suggest shortcomings within Lucerne Labs's own designs, or give him ideas where future trends may evolve.

But technology was just part of that picture as well - perhaps even more importantly were the persons and tactics that melded together with the ships themselves to make an effective fighting force. The admiral himself was starting to feel almost rusty on the galactic scene when it came to command. His last major battles had seen him fight the Bryn'adul Empire to a standstill, with invigorating victories and not a few bitter defeats. Yet the past year or so had been relatively quiet, seeing his command mostly deal with criminal enterprises and minor raids. That relative quiet might be good for the people of the Concord, but not for his skills

Viera was of course there, She was as she usually was, attached to Sala'dine at the hip. She looked around and was curious who would show up. "So what is this whole show about again?" She pondered what to do with herself as she mainly was just trying to keep her thoughts to herself. Viera did partake in the snacks, making sure to snag a drink and something to munch on as she embraced her boredom. At the end of the day, she was less invested in whatever this was but since her friend had gone to all the effort to arrange it, she had to be here. She at least got some snacks. She really missed working on days like this.

In a snap of light, the carrier "Celestial City" had dropped out of hyperspace. It was not alone as other members of the "Olympian Carrier Group" were with her. They however jumped out of the sector soon afterward as she moved into a safe position and began to deploy fighters into standard patrol routes. This was no combat positioning or maneuvering, just establishing a normal perimeter and prepare for any possible scenario or issue. Admiral Angellus was on the bridge, but only to observe, he did not command this, or any ship in the 9th fleet. This was not protocol to him as he was aligning himself more and more with the ancestors in his bloodline and how they did things. Sure, "bigger isn't always better" but this was his way, he was "old school" in that there was more of a focus on the effectiveness and lethality of starfighters over capital ships.

That is not to say that "The Celestial City", "The Guardano" or any of the ships that have been designed and built by Guardian Authority Ltd. could not pack a punch and hold their own in a battle, but the support was more of the preferred approach. Once it was certain that certain "Houses" were not going to surprise them, Angellus got on the comms witht he rest of the fleet and informed them to continue with what they were doing, that things here in this sector would be fine. That is when he stepped off the bridge and went for the "Amenediel Shuttle" landing bay with took him over to the meeting point.

Truth be told, Liram had little information on what this meeting would be about, but it didn't matter, it was good to "stretch legs" and not get into a fight once in awhile.

She looked at the scanners for the Windsor Academy Station as different fleets were arriving. The ships coordination biots for organizing the laarge fleet giving docking instructions as well as quickly tagging within the computers for them to be able to see. She looked at Viera and spoke. "THis is meant to share information and technologies among the various fleets of the Silver Concord. After the large scale action at Dressel things were not as organized. So chance here to get all of the different fleets coordinated and on the same page." She said it and walked towards the large viewport that looked out on the open space and held a hand up as her fingers pressed together and snapped.

The shimmering of cloaked vessel disappearing while she looked at Kisep and offered a small smile. "And I invited you here because it is always good to have a skilled tactician Kisep... one who is organized and able to work on their own fleet." She said it and looked as the omni dreadnoughts arrived... massive and the pinnacle of their engineering second only to the shadow which was there. The Message from Tychus was there and she could see the Kenobi fleet or at least a portion of it arrived to the gathering. "I was hoping to recruit you Viera, your talents are wasted languishing for another imperial order to invite you to them."

If there was one thing Mig had learned about himself over the year, it was despite his best efforts, the call of war tended to follow him. So was the life of a Mandalorian it seemed, even in the Concord. The other thing he learned was that his clan could really build ships, and right now he was on one of the good ones. The flagship of Gred Fleet, Keros' Kad. Kaddie would begin to guild the ship in slowly, quickly opening up comms to the other fleets.

"Ally fleets this Keros' Kad AI. Sorry if we're a little late." The mix of ships Mig brought might show off one thing, even if he didn't bring things like the FACs and heavy cruiser. Bigger wasn't really what he had to offer for the most part. They there were the Skiras, the Concordias, the Tsads, but most of the fleet was cruisers and frigates, with the heavies really focusing on command of some sort. Of course that didn't mean Kad was small by any means, but she clearly wasn't built to operate alone. Either way, this would be an interesting meeting.

The admiral watched with interest as other ships populated the bridge's central holo-projector. His eyes fluttered to eye the Corellia Defense ships with especial interest: he wasn't familiar with the designs except by reputation, which often only contained a kernel of truth to them. He found himself curious about the drive layout on some of their larger vessels - it looked like it could be good for improving a ship's thrust vectoring, but at the same time, they did a little exposed to him. But appearances could be deceiving. The station appeared to have had several vessels already present - some of them quite massive and imposing - yet that didn't whole surprise the blonde man. Important space stations tended to have fairly powerful vessels present to better protect them, and he wouldn't be surprised if they would be showcasing some new Sasori technology. Admiral Angellus appeared to have gained a new, larger command ship since the admiral from Hast had last seen the man in person. Liram seemed a carrier centric officer as far as Gir could tell - a philosophy once embraced by the now long defunct New Republic - which seemed a rariety in the modern battlefield, at least among the more conventional admirals. He'd be interested to hear about the man's experiences since they'd last met. Finally, the man recognized Clad Gred's Keros's Kad and its accompanying vessels. While perhaps not quite as flashy as some of the vessels present in appearance, they seemed to be solid, practical designs befitting their Mandalorian background - and sure fighters in many of the scraps the Concord had found itself in the years past.

"Taking stock of the situation?" asked Ariela, coming up from behind him.

"A lot of ships present," mumbled the blonde man before clearing his throat, "some I know, some I do not. In fact, maybe more that I do not than I do."

"You're getting rusty."

"I've been either stuck in the Concord's backwaters too long, or spent too much time in the fringes of space."

Ariela snorted, "You could probably find someone to hire a few company ships to get into a fight, if that's what you really want."

He hesitated, "I wouldn't go quite that far..."

He glanced at his wrist chrono, "We should go to the hangar..."

“On approach, sir.”

As the shuttle slowly entered the docking bay, Liram could see that this was not a ship he would feel comfortable in. It is not the he “prefers” the “big boys”, but the Admiral is a fighter pilot at heart and that meant that the carrier life was for him. That was the centric theme of the ships under his command, either carriers, or ships designed to be piloted by fighter pilots. This was his way and his way of paying homage to his lineage.

Whatever was going to happen here could potentially be a security nightmare. With multiple commanders, even a Mandalorian, all meeting in one area a strike team could sneak in and thrown a serious wrench into the works. That is why he had @Ewan “Raider” Isaacs and his SCAR team on standby. They were sitting in “The Ethereal” ready to launch well outside the system. That was a “worst case scenario” though, no sense in worrying about it.

As the shuttle set down and he stepped off, the ship seemed more like a “resort” at the moment than an actual combat vessel, Either way, he was famished.

Viera laughed and pondered the thought. "You have an extra fleet just laying around for me to command?" She said trying to deflect as she thought more and more about it. It would be nice to command again, she hadn't really led anything since she joined the fringe.. or was it that attempt at an imperial remnant. It had been too long. "Also what would be my rank, who would I answer too? I mean it can't be worse than my time on the Sith Empire's Council but those days I was mostly afraid one of them would go crazy and try to stab me with their light saber or use some crazy force power on me."

She ruminated through her thoughts and decided to wait for the answer to her questions. After all, she had to be careful, the imperial warlords or whatever they were calling themselves were actively trying to recruit her. Granted they wanted her to just casually take over a planet or something. Viera decided to just eat her snacks while waiting for answers.

She had a look as the people were docking and arriving a smile though when she looked at the woman. "Why Viera Kisep if I didn't know better I would think you want me to show off but admiral if you must know. the command structure of the silvers is a little different. Mostly each fleet has their purpose, expansionary defense, planetary defense, sector... fleets like the Kenobi fleet move the jedi primarily so they reinforce whichever fleet is in the area and my ghost fleet moves for more covert purposes or shadows any of the others. Admiral Quee is keenly tech savvy in most cases at least Lucerne and the directorate have been some of the better for mon cala technologies, Angellus is fighter heavy and we seem to have corellian and mandalorians coming to the party for a strange group sure but... the differences can prove effective in outpreforming and confusing... you though would need to give the designers an idea of what ships you want if you accepted. Then the military would need to review and accept you."

"So is there a particular purpose you need me to fill? " Viera smiled at the call out. "Hey this is the time to show off, need to show me what I could get if I sign up for leading a fleet." She thought to her old days. "I usually go for the big statement. You know traditional Imperial Doctrine, scare them with your might and you might not even have to fight. " She took a drink as she looked at her friend and ignored those arriving as no one had actually shown up to where they were yet. "Will the military accept me given my employment history?" She had been rather high ranking for forces most deemed evil. " Viera pondered what to do.. at least here she didn't have to suddenly control a planet or something, they would hire her to do what she wanted to, lead an fleet. Sala'dine Sala'dine

"Well we don't have a big and intimidating fleet as far as I know.. numbers sure and my fleet runs like an IMperial unit but there are several other ways they do things so big would be good." She said it and had a thought about it... she hadn't really been denied... the chance to show you were different and wanted to be better as it were or at least well she had been there at the right time with the right people who could make sure she had such a chance. "There is a few types of people, the ones who come because they want to, the ones who come because of horrible things and the ones who come because whatever they have ends and it is the only place. I won't say you are the third... you would come because the chance to do what you are good at is more tempting." She smiled though... "And well everyone in the Concord has a past it just depends on how you look at it... your past is heavy experience and years of knowledge that can be used for a better purpose."

"So who do I get to offend today?" quipped Sariya Fenni.

"Hopefully no-one," sighed the admiral, briefly glancing up from the controls to glance at the ships around them, "it's going to be an eclectic mix. You shouldn't be too bored, plenty of people with more interesting backgrounds than me."

The echani beemed, which caught the replica droid's attention.

Ariela Captisan shot her a bemused glance, "There's plenty of jedi among them. As good as you are, a jedi is not an easy foe by any stretch..."

"But jedi don't believe in violence as first means of resort, do they?"

Gir snorted, "Theoretically, no. But that's theoretically. There's a lot of ways that people interpret the jedi code, and even then, jedi are people too. Sometimes emotions run high."

"You guys are killjoys."

"You can always find a different job," offered Gir, "maybe back in Hutt Space in the gladiatorial pits?"

"Meh. The money's good here and the work is light."

"Worry not," said Ariela, "I'll try and have Gir send you somewhere exciting soon."

The courier glided in to land on the hangar deck. Gir rapidly powered the craft down before briskly walking off the rear ramp onto the vessel itself, with both Sariya and Ariela hot on his heels. His eyes immediately darted around the hangar bay, partly out of habit, and partly out of situational awareness - no-one wanted to haplessly run face first into the wing of a starfighter or get hit by a singularly focused maintenance droid doing work on a nearby shuttle. But even those eyes seemed focused on the environment around them, his mind was occupied with other thoughts, mostly with the upcoming social interactions. He'd worked with almost all of those attending before, though he had never worked with them altogether. The group dynamics would altogether be a new experience for him. After a number minutes, the blonde man and his two associates found themselves approaching Sala'dine Sala'dine and Viera Kisep Viera Kisep .

"A pleasure to see you again, Admiral," said the man with a brief nod to Sala'dine, before turning to face Viera and offering a hand for a handshake, "I don't believe we've met before. I'm Admiral Quee."

Datapad in hand, the young Anzat was studying the composition of the various fleets that were massing.

Never a bad thing to study the competition. Some of which he was familiar, as in the case of Gir Quee Gir Quee and others that were new to him. The Mandalorian forces, in particular, caught his attention. But none of them seemed familiar. He supposed he shouldn't be surprised. The war between the United Clans of Mandalore and the Silver Jedi was decades cold now.

Taking an executive shuttle over to the meeting place, the boy glanced around and found that, indeed, Gir was the only face that he recalled.

"Sor-Jan," the boy supplied, introducing himself as he stepped into the meeting room. He glanced over at Gir as he did, almost daring the man to call him Master Xantha one more time.

As Gir seemed to be engaging the one woman ( Viera Kisep Viera Kisep ) in conversation, the boy addressed the other ( Sala'dine Sala'dine )

"I don't believe we've met."

What the?

No one saw him getting a cup of caf?

Maybe he was still good in a cockpit if none of them noticed him even being here. It didn't matter as Liram grabbed an apple and took a bite processing everything the current conversation had produced. So it sounded like one of the two women to whom he had never met was defecting from the Imperials. Interesting. The other was in command of one of the fleet of superships that the new Jedi boss seemed to have brought with her. Liram didn't have a problem with this, he didn't care at all, really but it made him that much more focused on the needs of those who are under his command as there are those who would make the 9th fleet, and others out there seem "pointless".

That was not true, to be sure.

Just for the record...

He said, walking up in between bites of his apple.

The 9th is not "fighter heavy", we are designed to meet multiple styles and levels of threat.

Translation "Carrier friendly". Nodding to Admiral Quee, he stopped.

I'm sorry, where are my manners? Admiral Angellus.

One thing he needed to learn from all of that text he had read about his bloodline was the "Angellus reputation for tact and diplomacy".

She was corrected by the one coming over with an apple and raised an eyebrow but bowed her head. "My mistake." AA small grin but the others were starting to arrive as she knew Gir and Sor-Jan was well.. he was infamous thanks to the new grandmaster who largely supported him... and his business was pretty good if a little ruthless when it came to profits and the shareholders... still he had brought ships to show off and they didn't need to ask for a line of credit... there was more then enough in the bank accounts if he presented a good product. Tychua joined them and the older man was built like a bull sure but he was one of the nicer people she had met and developed the Kenobi fleet in the windsor and its shipyards.

"I am Sala'dine of the ghost fleet." She said it and all were present almost... the mandalorians rep was not here but he could be on his way... she moved to greet the others. "President Xantha from Corellian digital the holos do not do you justice and admiral Quee it is good to see you once again." She bowed her head but motioned with a hand for the wall to change and give a full view of the different fleets and show several displays of the ships. "While we wait for the alor to join us... some of you might be wondering why we are all here... tactically it is dangerous to be gathered but given what happened at Dressel where nearly four of the fleets were engaging House Io... it might be prudent to make sure coordination and infomration is exchanged."

Alor of Clan Gred, Mando'ad'jetii
Mig would quickly board one of the Kad's HA-2 Pikes, quickly followed by four GF-4 Stingers leaving to do a "lazy" patrol of the area. The fighters would keep in touch with the other fleets as they moved, ready to react if needed. The Pike though, with a transport module under its tail, would slip into the station's hanger, landing handily before lower to rest he module on the flight deck. Mig would exit, a V-1 following suit as he started walking to the group. Gir he knew. They'd operated together before, plus shared involvement in business outside the SJC. Liram Angellus he only really knew from his sister Vaux Gred Vaux Gred . The other's he didn't know, or at least didn't recognize.

"Sorry I'm late. The original gunship had an issue, and we only had a couple of transport modules loaded for the trips."

Gir politely and quietly nodded to the others as they entered the room or otherwise entered his field of vision. In doing so, he tried not to take too much attention away from Viera Kisep Viera Kisep lest he offend her. But the admiral of Ghost Fleet, Sala'dine Sala'dine started speaking, which drew the attention of most of the room, including himself.
I am Sala'dine of the ghost fleet. President Xantha from Corellian digital the holos do not do you justice and admiral Quee it is good to see you once again. While we wait for the alor to join us... some of you might be wondering why we are all here... tactically it is dangerous to be gathered but given what happened at Dressel where nearly four of the fleets were engaging House Io... it might be prudent to make sure coordination and information is exchanged."

As he considered her words, he noticed Mig Gred Mig Gred arrive with the explanation for his delay. He nodded in understanding. As much as the public didn't realize, sometimes even the best fleets and units sometimes suffered mishaps and delays, whether it was a temporary shortage of fuel or dozens of small craft being grounded for safety investigation of a possibly manufacturing defect, the galaxy wasn't easy to predict. His thoughts turned to House Io, which was similarly unpredictable. He briefly cleared his throat.

"House Io," offered the admiral, "seems to always be evolving. Ever time I've seen them or reviewed information forwarded to me from other commands or sources, they appear to have developed and deploying new, exotic technology. While their technology does seem to be reasonably competent and even impressive at times, it strikes me that often our own is usually capable of standing up to theirs, if not in quality than in greater numbers - the benefit of the unity of our worlds and the leadership of the Jedi.

It strikes me that against such an unpredictable foe, the most constant factor that I've seen from them is an aggressiveness of action. I wonder if this is something we should consider in formulating our plans and tactics to deal with this threat...

It’s less their ships and more their tactics.

Liram countered with his ever usual “blunt as a Ronto’s head” response. He did not concern himself much about the ships as while they were new takes on old designs they were still old designs, many of them. True, many of the ships designed by Guardian Authority Ltd. were much the same in many respects, there was new technology to them all, and allowed for new ways of thinking.

Their style of combat is a mixture of “guerilla warfare”, “hit and run” and “predictive movement”. They rely heavily on droids and AI, initially my intel suggested that this was due to a lack of an actual Naval presence. However, this is not true to me, I believe that sneak attacks such as mines, and then swarming drones will always be the first and second layers to their movement. They can be manipulated into situations beneficial to their opponents just on this alone as the actions, even of the drones suggest a “win at and and all costs right now” attitude.

Pulling out a datapad and pressing a couple of buttons on it, he looked for a place to hook into. When finally satisfied, Liram brought the image on his datapad up onto the holo. It was a layout of the battle of Dressel, before the other fleets joined in.

Our “Falanx” defensive systems had, and would hold up just fine, but their placement of gravity mines was an effective opening barrage. The problem is, they did not follow up on it. They saw the effects of the 9th’s carrier’s long guns and did not analyze that it would be possible to get in close and take those weapons out of the equation.

Changing an image, he focused on the fighters, specifically his X-wings.

There was something impressive about the analytical ability to learn and predict the fighter movements to be able to counter them eventually. The problem for them was…

Changing the image again to where the fighter assignments changed.

When I ordered the change… just like I was expecting… they were back to square one.

Bringing up all of the images, frame by frame, he spoke again.

I’m not saying that they are a clear and present danger, but they are learning. They will get more effective, It is how we respond which will determine just how effective they are. I am already looking into, and potentially addressing assignment changes in the 9th as while they were not able to keep up with us that day, it could change down the road.
