STRENGTHS
  • Multi-Role Cruiser. The CD-NX is balanced to excel in a variety of scenarios, from diplomacy to patrol or even military assault. It's comprehensive sensor and analysis abilities make it ideal for use as a command ship.
  • Clean Energy. The CD-NX minimizes main reactor operations by off-set with solar energy collectors. This allows main reactor power to be priortized to main component systems (life support, weapons, shields) while auxillary power is supplied by afterglow panel generation.
WEAKNESSES
  • Baffles. Due to electromagnetic interference generated by the primary drive engines, the ship's com-scan is ineffective in scanning the area aft of the ship.
  • 270-degree Firing Arc. Main weapons do not cover the aft area, leaving the engines vulnerable.
  • Unique Electromagnetic Signature. Corellia Defense vessels use a unique Hoersch-Kessel ion drive design for their sublight propulsion. The resulting engine wash is faintly radioactive. This electromagnetic signature was distinguishable from background cosmic radiation and allowed the vessels to be tracked or detected.
DESCRIPTION
The CD-NX was the largest ship manufactured by Corellia Digital in the year 860 ABY. Sharing the same Selonian architecture as the CD-3 survey vessel and CD-7 heavy explorer, the CD-NX was the most advanced starship fielded by the defense subsidiary. Weapon emplacements were contained in Mon Calamari-inspired turbolaser blister pods that were strategically arranged along the hull. Tri-particle beamers supplied a secondary energy weapon, while launch tubes were capable of firing ion torpedoes or cluster missiles. As the most advanced ship in Corellia Digital's fleet, the Ambassador-class introduced the first deployment of the company's synchronous array navi-computer, which enabled the ship to very precisely navigate hyperspace, similar to the company's flagship.
