- DEDICATED BUT SEPARATE LAUNCH AND LANDING DECKS - While the fighters onboard are VTOL capable, the catapult systems allow for quick launches and landings, especially necessary in battlefield situations.
- I SAW THAT A MILE AWAY! - The long-range detection system keeps enemies from getting the drop on The Liberation class much like The Ethereal class but with more defensive capabilities.
- CARRIER CAPABILITIES/CRUISE SIZE - The Scion Class isnot an Ethereal, Liberation, or Welkin Class, but has the capabilities of them in an economical size.
- KNOW YOUR ROLE AND SHUT YOUR MOUTH - The Scion Class does not try to do to much, it is a carrier and that is it. The weapons are mainly for defensive and escape purposes.
- EXPOSED BOW LAUNCH PORTS - There are more than a few launch ports on the carrier, but the main launch bays are located on the bow and a well-placed attack can incapacitate them. If there were "sniper ships" they would have a field day.
- SLOWER THAN MOLASSES IN JANUARY - Like "The Ethereal" as well as "The Liberation" classes, the Welkin class makes up for a lack of speed and maneuverability with offensive and defensive capabilities. That being said, the ship needs some headway to get to speed and turns like a brick... "Fecal Matter Domicile."
- SOOOO MANY FIGHTERS - The problem with carrying so many fighters is that if you are launching an assault it takes a long time to launch them. Like it or not, the ship is extremely vulnerable during this time.
- ELBOWS & A##HOLES - The Broadsword Torpedoes take up a LOT of room. Even with a computer system that allows for less crew there is not a lot of room.
- STEER DAMMIT! - The ship can move alright but can't steer for (censored).
Guardian Authority Ltd. has been the lead project builder on several classes of carriers. This is no different, but this is the first carrier class to be completely built "in house". The partnership with Lucerne Labs will continue but the work done here is a "test" of their ship capabilities from design to christening. The ship itself is not fast or maneuverable, but then again it is not really meant to be. The Scion Class is meant to come into a situation in a group of vessels and launch its fighters and it does that effectively. There is little more to it. The weaponry are powerful anti-starfighter Quad cannons as well as several dual rapid fire cannons. There are several heavy turbolasers on top of this to help buy time for escape. The "Bell of the ball" here is the several FALANX systems in place that help the ship learn of impending threats and escape in time. This is a ship that could hold its own against smaller and similar sized vessels, but is best suited in groups.
