Indatha, capital of Valrar and seat of the Cradle of Secrets
GENERAL INFORMATION
- Planet Name: Valrar
- Demonym: Valrari (For Human residents on world)
- Region: Mid Rim
- System Name: Valrar System, located in the Glythe Sector
- System Features:
- One Sun - Historically, the star in the system was not named by the inhabitants of the system as it had been used merely as a posting to punish incompetent officers of the Imperial Navy of the ancient Galactic Empire. When the planet and surrounding system came to the attention of Darth Arcanix and her followers in 844 ABY, and the continued growth and entrenchment of their presence, it was renamed by the Lady of Secrets to honor an ancient Krath witch that destroyed the Cron Cluster.
- Aleema - Yellow G Main Sequence Star
- Three Moons - Historically, the moons in the system were not named by the inhabitants for much the same reason the system's star was unnamed as Valrar was a place to punish Imperial officers that failed the legendary Grand Admiral Thrawn. When the colonization of the world by the followers of Darth Arcanix began in 844 ABY, the moons were renamed to honor three of the ancient founders of the Sith Order.
- Sorzus - The moon closest to Valrar itself, much of it is covered in a similar dense canopy jungle as the world it orbits. The Order maintains several outposts on the moon for research purposes, but major development of the moon is not slated until at least 905 ABY.
- Karness - A craggy moon of ice and rock with a thin if breathable atmosphere, second in orbit around Valrar, much of Karness has been devoted to bases and military support facilities that house portions of the military forces under the Lady of Secrets. The largest of these facilities is Raugrin Base.
- Dreypa - A rocky and barren moon, the furthest out from the planet, that is able to sustain minimal atmosphere due to its high density of ore, Dreypa has been developed as mining facility due to the discovery large deposits of oridium, alum, and hematite within its crust.
- Asteroid Belts - An asteroid belt of rocky and mineral-rich asteroids exists in a close orbital position to Aleema, with several Order of Arcane Syn astronomers and scientists theorizing that it was once a planet that was destroyed in a far ancient cataclysm. The Order of Arcane Syn refer to it as Drannith's Ring as a whole, while individual sectors of the ring have their own designations.
- Seviss Habitat Zone - A sector of the asteroid field that plays host to several space and habitat stations that oversee research and development into vacuum-based Sithspawn and bioengineered creations. Nivix Station is the centerpiece of these research stations and breeding grounds.
- Drannith's Vault - Three quarters of the ring have been segmented off for mining and resource development projects due to the discovery of doonium and lommite within the asteroids, much of which is fed into the Immerfell Drydocks for military production by the Order and allied megacorporations, along with transport to local systems and other aligned facilities.
- Orbital Position - Habitable Zone
- Rotational Period - 25 Galactic Standard Hours
- Orbital Period - 382 Galactic Standard Days

GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION
- Gravity: Standard
- Climate: Temperate verging onto a lushly humid
- Historic - For much of its history, Valrar was humid world of dense jungles and rainforests.
- Present - In recent years, mild terraforming efforts by the Order of Arcane Syn and several megacorporations have created small zones on the planet that have varying climates such as a colder arid climate at the southern pole or more temperate zones around the major settlements and facilities. However, much of it remains a humid world of jungles and rainforests of dense canopies.
- Primary Terrain: Rainfores
- Historic - For much of its history, the primary terrain of Valrar has been continent spanning rainforests and jungles occasionally broken up by mountain ranges. A large ocean dominates the western hemisphere with several tropical islands scattered in various archipelagos.
- Present - Through mild terraforming efforts by the Order of Arcane Syn and several megacorporations, parts of the rainforests and jungles have been converted into different biome zones such as plains and wetlands to provide greater testing sites for the creations made by the Order and to facilitate greater environment training regions for military forces. Areas around most of the major settlements have also been cleared for continued development. However, the primary terrain of the planet remains the continent spanning rainforests and jungle-covered mountains along with the western ocean.
- Atmosphere: Type I

Xyris Island and the city of Illuna
LOCATION INFORMATION
- Capital City:
- Historic - According to datalogs from several academic archives and research done by sponsored scientists and paleontologists, no native sentient species evolved on Valrar and the records from the Imperial garrison are negligent at best due to it being a punishment to be posted on the world. Due to this, no capital city had been established on Valrar and it was left uninhabited after the Galactic Empire left it.
- Initial Colonization (844 ABY) - During the initial occupation and colonization efforts by the Order of Arcane Syn, then known as the Order of Shadows, a facility known as the Cradle of Secrets was established. The Cradle of Secrets acted as the central facility for a network of research outposts scattered across the planet, effectively making it the primary settlement even though it would not be considered a capital city.
- Modern Era (900 ABY) - Over the past few decades, continued development and growth on Valrar has resulted in a city developing around and from the Cradle of Secrets and becoming the official capital of the world known as Indatha.
- Planetary Features: The planet has mostly been left in a wild state, all the better to study the released Sithspawn on the world and to retain untainted testing grounds for new experiments.
- Umori Rainforest
- The massive rainforest jungle that dominates the main continent of Valrar. Sunlight has a difficult time penetrating the dense canopy, creating an eerie jungle full of monsters and shrouded in perpetual twilight.
- Nafash Vale
- A portion of the Umori Rainforest that contains the meeting settlement of the Matron Clans known as Navika. Each Clan controls a portion of this valley and constantly are arguing over which is dominant, but they all agree that Whiphids are forbidden from stepping foot within their territory.
- Kurvan Basin
- A portion of the Umori Rainforest that is older than other portions, judging by the larger trees located here, and plays host to the Weaver Guilds and the Yuuzhan Vong settlement of Murvar. Pools of slime can be located here, and it is highly recommended that visitors do not touch the pools as they act as breeding pits for various creations from both Weaver and Vong Shapers.
- Ketria Lowlands
- A stretch of plains and savannah-like territory developed through terraforming efforts by the Order of Arcane Syn that borders both the Umori Rainforest and the Kathril Range. The city of Indatha is located within these lowlands, built into the foothills that roll into the jungle covered portions of the mountains.
- Kathril Expanse
- A large mountain range that breaks up the Umori Rainforest in the northeastern part of the continent that runs along the coast that is partially covered in jungle and partially left barren. The mountain range is dominated by flying Sithspawn and creatures and is host to the town of Vadrok and Skygeiir Base.
- Xyris Island
- A large island located within the western ocean of Valrar, the town of Illuna and its research facilities on aquatic life are located on the island. The island appears to be a tropical paradise until one begins to understand the nature of the work ongoing within Illuna.
- Zameck Coast
- Located on the western edge of the continent, surrounding the gulf that shares the same name, the Zameck Coast has become the main economic driver of the planet as its secondary spaceport is located here in the city of Esperi.
- Jirina Testing Grounds
- The largest section of the continent that has been terraformed into various biomes that act as testing grounds for Sithspawn and the technologies in use by the Lady of Secrets’ military forces for environmental effects. Each biome in the testing grounds are segmented off by large force fields and control zones with the facility known as Kudro Station overseeing the region.
- Umori Rainforest

Umori Rainforest
- Major Locations:
- Indatha
- Originally the primary research facility for Darth Arcanix known as the Cradle of Secrets, the capital of Indatha has developed around and from that original laboratory into the largest city on the planet. The planet’s primary commercial spaceport is located in Indatha, allowing for ease of importing and exporting the genetic results of the experiments taking place there. Much of the city is still centered around the genetics and bioengineering industries, with a strong pharmaceutical industry developing as well.
- Brokkos
- Originally a simple research and hunting preserve known as Outpost A-X3, the city of Brokkos has developed around and from that simple outpost. Much of the original facility remains, having been expanded upon over the years into something the locals call the Lodge, with the city circling around it like a ring built within the jungle and playing host to various private estates and landing pads for allies of the Lady of Secrets. Much of the Whiphid, Gand, and Trandoshan populations on Valrar resides within the city or its outskirts, preferring the hunting culture that has developed there in testing the latest Sithspawn and other creations of the Lady of Secrets and also due to the large distance between Brokkos and the territory marked by the Matrons and their Surgeons.
- Illuna
- Originally the primary aquatic research facility on the planet, located on a then unnamed island within the western ocean, the town of Illuna has developed from what was Outpost W-X25. The town is built around the central spire of the original research facility and on a carved plateau that rises above the tropical jungle of Xyris Island. Various lifts and docks are carved into the lower plateau and aquatic research labs are located in the shadow under the main plateau.
- Esperi
- A city located on the Zameck Coast, Esperi is one of the primary economic forces on the planet as it plays host to the planet’s secondary spaceport and designated arrival port for any non-Sith visitors to the planet. The city’s design has been influenced by the large enclave of Umbarans and Kaminoans located there.
- Murvar
- A settlement newly established on the planet within the Zurvan Basin, it has become the primary location for the Yuuzhan Vong that have entered the service of Darth Arcanix and is thus heavily influence by their design aesthetic and that of the Legion Yun’do.
- Vadrok
- A town located in the Kathril Expanse that specializes in the development of aerial Sithspawn and bio-creations, along with a thriving military-industrial complex due to the close proximity of Skygeiir Base. Forges and weapon production facilities, mixed with the genetics labs and aeries that house draconic Sithspawn, have created a unique blend of towering buildings and embedded bunkers.
- Navika
- A town that acts more like a central gathering point for the Matrons and their clans to settle disputes among themselves and to participate within the Challenge of Vitality that dictates which Clan is predominant for the coming year on the planet. The architecture of the town is evocative of large fungal growths built into the sides of the jungle trees that make up the Nafash Vale.
- Zasz
- A series of hollowed out hills and large jungle trees that act as the central point of the Weaver Guilds located within the Zurvan Basin. Zasz is built much like a series of anthills, with the entrances within the hollowed out surface structures while the breeding pools of the Weavers and Spinners lurk beneath in ever expanding underground facilities.
- Kudro Station
- Located in the central part of the Jirina Testing Grounds, this facility acts as a command center and coordinating base for research being undertaken within the testing grounds’ various biomes. A constant flow of traffic from research labs from Indatha and the military bases has ensured a private spaceport has developed here along with military defenses.
- Nivix Station
- Located in Seviss Habitat Zone within the Drannith’s Ring asteroid belt, Nivix Station is the primary research facility for Sithspawn and bioengineered creations that are designed for use in vacuum and deep space.
- Skygeirr Base
- A military base and research laboratory located within the Kathril Range that works to incorporate Sithspawn and bio-creations into the ground forces of the Lady of Secrets. The base acts as the headquarters and barracks for the newly forming Blood of Sorzus Legion that operates within the Order of Arcane Syn and its army.
- Raugrin Base
- The largest military base located on the moon of Karness that acts as the headquarters and command center for the Lady of Secrets’ naval forces. The base is also host to the headquarters and training facilities of the Iron Talons Legion, the veteran force that has served under Darth Arcanix for decades now.
- Immerfell Drydocks
- A series of large dockyards and ship production facilities in orbit around Valrar, the facility is operated by allied megacorporations such as Aurora Industries to provide modernized naval forces for the Lady of Secrets.
- Indatha

Raugrin Base
Force Nexus (Optional):
- Intent:
- Due to the continuous Sithspawn and alchemical experiments done throughout the decades, along with the natural predatory behavior of the creatures released into the ecosystem, the world of Valrar has gained a darker edge within the Force. While not a truly defined nexus of power, the dark side of the Force is pervasive and adds a looming atmosphere to visitors.
- Nexus Name: N/A
- Nexus Alignment: Dark
- Size: Planetary
- Strength: Weak
- Accessibility: N/A due to Planetary rating
- Effects:
- For most beings that step foot on the world and linger there more than a few days, they will begin to develop a sense of unease and feeling as though someone is watching them… or more accurately hunting them. Force sensitives aligned with the dark side will feel inspired, especially if they are inclined to the alchemical arts, and feel as though all the power they need to achieve their wildest creations are within reach. Force sensitives aligned with the light side will be uncomfortable, as though a fog has muted their senses and connection to the Force while the feeling of fangs at their throats will follow them wherever they go.

POPULATION
- Native Species:
- According to datalogs from academic surveys, no sentient populations developed on Valrar. Additionally, any non-sentients on the planet that originally existed had either died out by the initial occupation in 844 ABY or were subsequently wiped out by the Sithspawn released into wilds as part of the experiments from the Order.

- Culture:
- Valrari Hegemony
- The vast majority of the population on Valrar falls within the Hegemony and lead lifestyles similar to those found within the Colonies, Inner Rim, and Mid Rim due to the collection of species that form it. The growth in the population has altered the cultural overtones of the planet, mitigating the full focus surrounding the Order of Arcane Syn and its workings. While it still features heavily on the planet as it controls the world and much of its economy is geared to support the power base of the Lady of Secrets and her family, and a heavy focus is placed on academic pursuits and success, other aspects of culture have slowly slipped in such as entertainment venues and sporting events that revolve around the Sithspawn of the planet such as races on the back of Misini wyverns. Due to the apathy the Lady of Secrets feels towards organized religious connotations of the Force, much of that is shared among the Valrari Hegemony and it is very rare to find any religious iconography.
- Brokkos - Uniquely for the northern city of Brokkos, the cultural evolution of the city has been heavily shaped by the enclaves of Gand, Trandoshans, and Whiphids within the ring-like city. Many of the citizens of this city have created a culture around hunting and physical prowess, born from their proximity to the Lodge and its hunting preserve. Respect among the citizens can only be earned by hunting and killing the Sithspawn of the planet and bringing back your kill to boast and prove your worth. Small shrines and temples to the Trandoshan Scorekeeper can be found here as well.

- Weaver Guilds
- The culture that has developed around the Weavers and their subordinate Spinners has been heavily influenced by their pursuit of genetic evolution in creating Sithspawn and bioengineered creatures. DNA is king among the Weaver guilds, and while each specializes in different types of Sithspawn, they are hyper competitive and jealously guard the secrets of their guildss. It is not uncommon for Weavers of different clans to refuse to work together for fear their rival might learn something of their work. There are currently five major guilds, all located within the Zurvan Basin, with enclaves located in the different cities or towns on Valrar:
- Kursos Guild - The Weaver Guild that focuses on physical prowess and combat capabilities of the Sithspawn and bio-creations.
- Tuoshina Guild - The Weaver Guild that focuses on toxins and poisons, incorporating them into new breeds of Sithspawn for skullduggery and assassinations.
- Tsosu - The Weaver Guild that focuses on stealth and deception, creating Sithspawn and other monsters that have various types of camouflage and other abilities that enable them to spy upon and silently hunt.
- Dowira - The Weaver Guild that focuses on creating healing and support Sithspawn and bio-creations. They are also the only guild that, begrudgingly, will work with the Matron Clans as their interests align closely.
- Iotzurt - The Weaver Guild that has taken an interest in altering Yuuzhan Vong specimens and have reluctantly partnered with the Legion Yun'do settlement of Murvar to acquire test subjects from.

- Matron Clans
- The culture that has evolved around the Matrons and their subordinate Surgeons has been one of curiosity for the Order of Arcane Syn. Matrons and Surgeons are coldly analytical beings, never indulging in falsehoods or deceptions, but they are particularly interested in learning about and adapting nature around them. Much of that involves 'helping' any injured being or creature they encounter, although this can be terrifying experience. The Matrons have split themselves into three different clans that focus on learning about particular medical fields:
- Dotitsi Clan - The Matron clan that focuses on studying and creating healing substances.
- Zasa - The Matron clan that focuses on studying poisons and toxins and developing antidotes and immunities to them.
- Dizijatsa - The Matron clan that focuses on studying sedatives and other numbing agents.

GOVERNMENT & ECONOMY
- Government:
- Valrari Hegemony
- The planetary and system government that oversees Valrar and its star system that is based in Indatha, it is considered a combined Magocracy-Meritocracy where Force users and non-Force users can equally gain prominence within the government. While the Order of Arcane Syns controls the planet, having formed the civilization there in the first place, the Lady of Secrets is only nominally the head of state as she delegates the task of running the world to chosen officials and Sith adepts. Additionally, because of her role within the Sith, the government is closely tied to that of whatever galactic power is currently controlled by the Sith.
- Weaver Guilds
- Each guild acts as its own governing body due to the distrust and rivalries that plague the Weavers. They do not have an overarching government and constantly send envoys to Indatha to try and gain an advantage over the other guilds in the Zurvan Basin.
- Matron Clans
- Typically, the three clans run their own affairs and research, but they have formed a loose overarching body to help protect the Nafash Vale. Once each year, the three clans gather in Navika to participate in the Challenge of Vitality to see which clan has gained prominence over the others for the coming year. The dominant clan, currently the Dotitsi, is able to make political and economic arrangements for the Vale and control who are allowed to access the Vale.
- Valrari Hegemony
- Affiliation:
- While the planet is currently within neutral space, the planet is mainly affiliated with the Order of Arcane Syn and the power base of Darth Arcanix. In that capacity, the planet is loosely affiliated with the Sith Empire that the Lady of Secrets supports along with the power bases of her allies such as the Kainites that serve Darth Carnifex and the Zambrano family.
- Wealth:
- Wealthy - While the planet does not boast a large trade economy, wealth flows into the planet due to the several megacorporations such as Aurora Industries and Spaarti Creations that Darth Arcanix controls, along with the investment from her allies such as the Zambranos. However, as the population had expanded, outreach has begun with other worlds and factions that share the same values to establish trade ties with them and create a strong import/export for their creations and the minerals in the system. The promise of difficult hunts has also attracted a massive hunting industry that caters to the ultra-wealthy and other galactic officials and Sith that are willing to pay any price to test themselves against the creations of the Lady of Secrets.
- Stability:
- High - As the sentients on world are fully aligned with the Order of Arcane Syn and the Lady of Secrets, unrest and other forms of instability are rare. Such matters, if they arise, are quickly dealt with either through military force or through the natural proclivity of Sith and Sith-aligned groups to purge rivals and outcasts before they become a threat.
- Freedom & Oppression:
- All sentient beings within the system have the same rights as any citizen that lived under the laws and codes of the Tenth Sith Empire as Darth Arcanix and the established authorities saw little reason to modify those codes. However, ethical and moral limitations are shaped by the guidelines established by Darth Arcanix on experimentation and general idea that evolution and progress require any necessary sacrifices.

Zameck Coast
MILITARY & TECHNOLOGY
- Military:
- Historic - Due to the planet not developing a sentient species of its own, any historic military forces were typically occupying garrisons such as the one established by the ancient Galactic Empire. As records show the garrison was used as a punishment posting for officers and soldiers that failed in their tasks, the size of the garrison was smaller than usual with only roughly one hundred to two hundred beings on world.
- Initial Colonization (844 ABY) - During the initial colonization, the planet was not heavily fortified or militarized as Darth Arcanix wanted to keep a lower profile for her main laboratory. Some companies of her personal forces were sent to the planet while a cloaking field and deflector shield were erected around the original Cradle of Secrets. The Sithspawn creations on the planet could also be used for the defense of the world.
- Modern Era (900 ABY) - In the modern era, the planet has become massive stronghold for the Order of Arcane Syn. Following the collapse of the Tenth Sith Empire, many of the naval and ground forces that followed her were relocated to this world and others within her power base while continued investment and growth meant the planet could maintain a sizable defense fleet with the Seventh Fleet and supports several legions worth of soldiers, specifically the veteran Iron Talons and the new Blood of Sorzus Legions. The large populations of Sithspawn, along with the new creations, also means the planet is incredibly difficult to invade as the creatures could be turned on any invader by the defenders and the Sith beastmasters among them.
- Technology: The planet is slightly above Galactic Standard in certain fields due to the advanced research into genetics, cloning, biology, and alchemy, and the creation of bleeding edge technologies centered on those fields. In other regards, the planet is at Galactic Standard currently.
Historic Era
The planet of Valrar has generally been left alone by the galaxy at large throughout its history, with major galactic events passing over the world in favor of its more famous neighbors in the Glythe Sector such as Vortex, Fornax, and Iridonia. Mentions of the world can be found in surviving records from the first Galactic Empire founded by Sheev Palpatine, mainly from the Imperial Remnant led by Grand Admiral Thrawn as a world incompetent officers or favored servants that failed in their missions would be assigned to guard for their failures. Once Thrawn was defeated, the world was abandoned by the Imperials and left to its forgettable existence as scans had not revealed any exploitable resources such as doonium under those thick jungle canopies.
Attempts were made to colonize the world over the next years, but none them ever panned out either because they found no resources desired by Core Worlds or galactic conglomerates or support for the project ran dry and the colonists left for better worlds in the Mid Rim. Those that remained tried to eke out a living by harvesting exotic woods for use in furniture and other luxury goods, but their corner of the market remained small due to the abundance of Kashyyyk wroshyr wood on the markets. By the time the Gulag Plague came to the world on a trade ship, the latest colony was already on the verge of failing. With the arrival of the devastating disease, the planet was left without sentient life for the next four hundred years.
Initial Colonization
As galactic society recovered, Valrar remained untouched by the emerging powers. Falling within the sphere of influence of the resurgent Galactic Republic by 835 ABY, the planet was once again ignored for its fellows in the sector, mainly Iridonia in this time of galactic war and upheaval. After the Akala Incident in 844 ABY, the planet and the Glythe Sector found itself under the control of the One Sith Empire. It was during this time that a young and recently promoted Sith Lady Darth Arcanix or Taeli Raaf discovered the world while leading Sith forces to take the world of Iridonia. While it might not be important to the One Sith Empire, Taeli saw the planet as a potential location for her experiments to remain undiscovered, both by her fellow Sith and the Jedi once she began her mission to infiltrate them.
The first facility was begun as Taeli made preparations to infiltrate the Republic and Jedi, known as the Cradle of Secrets, and established her power base on the world. All through her infiltration mission, both with the Republic and its successor the Galactic Alliance, the facility and its experiments grew. Outposts were established across the planet, specimens were released for study in the wild and to eliminate natives species, and the world became a dark place of amoral experimentation all towards the goal of furthering the practices of Sith alchemy, genetic manipulation, and biological research. The planet, now in neutral space once again, has effectively become an enclave of the new Sith Empire through the Lady of Secrets, Darth Arcanix's new title.
Modern Era
In the roughly six decades since the original colonization, much has changed for the planet of Valrar and its star system. The Tenth Sith Empire had collapsed, and as much of her forces from the Empire survived, they were resettled and reestablished in the Valrar system along with their families. This resettlement swelled the population, allowing actual cities and towns to be constructed on world around the original research outposts and facilities. The city of Indatha was built around the original main base of operations for the Order of Arcane Syn, becoming the capital of the planet and the new Valrari Hegemony in 880 ABY, while further development of the system resulted in new sources of wealth and resources to complement the continued experiments of the Sith adepts under Darth Arcanix and her family. Allied megacorporations contributed to some terraforming efforts on Valrar to create different biomes for both strategic and scientific reasons while giving the cities room to expand.
As the Second Great Hyperspace War raged, Valrar and its people were able to remain outside of any sort of the combat, giving them a chance to continue building up and establishing ties to nearby worlds. With the increasing ambitions of the Eleventh Sith Empire, both in the galactic south and in the Sith Holy Worlds, Valrar sees an opportunity to continue expanding its influence and exporting its resources and creations for use in the Sith war machine.
