OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Name: Wyvern
  • Designation: Non-sentient
  • Homeworld: Farstone
  • Language: No language besides screeches
  • Average Lifespan: 35 years
  • Estimated Population: Scattered
  • Description: The Wyvern is a large bat-like creature, sporting six eyes and a wide wing span. Its entire body is covered in spiked chitin, and its tail is tipped with some sort of second mouth.
PHYSICAL INFORMATION
  • Breathes: Type I and Type II
  • Average height of adults: 6 meters
  • Average length of adults: N/A
  • Skin color: Brown and shades of purple
  • Hair color: No hair
  • Distinctions: The biggest distinction for the Wyverns, besides their large wings, is their long tail. The aforementioned tail ends in something akin to a second mouth/parasitic growth that allows the Wyvern to fire a projectile attack at enemies and prey.
  • Races: No other races at this time
  • Strengths:
  1. Echolocation - Besides using their screeches to communicate among one another, much like other species of bats, the Wyvern use echolocation to "see" its surroundings and locate enemies or prey.
  2. Projectile Attack - Through observing yaret-kor, Eldaah and her Master created a simulacra of the organism in the tail of the Wyvern that uses leftover rock consumed by the Wyvern and fires it as a sort of bio-plasma.
  3. Fast Flight - Due to the large set of wings, the Wyvern is able to be airborne for long periods of time and move quickly and maneuver extremely well.
  4. Armored - The Wyvern is covered in a natural chitin armor across much of its body (comparable to quality 5 armor).
  5. Second set of lungs - To allow it to operate in atmospheres that would fall under a Type II environment, a secondary set of lungs was introduced into the Wyvern during the creation process that the creature has direct control over, much like a Muun and their three hearts.
  • Weaknesses:
  1. Completely blind - As a side effect from the creation process, the Wyverns have lost complete use of the eyes they have.
  2. Sonic attacks - If attacked with a sonic type weapon, the creature's echolocation will be overwhelmed for a time and they will try and flee the sound.
  3. Can run out of ammo - Because its projectiles are formed from the leftover silica it ingests, if it hasn't fed recently, it cannot fire its projectiles. Even then, it has a limited supply to fire at any given time.
  4. Wings - While the Wyvern has large wings and is capable of flight, they are very delicate and any wound or tear in the membranes will result in either a crash landing or being stuck on the ground, where they are essentially useless.
  5. Gaps in the armor - To keep its armor light enough for flight, they are shaped into plates and thus there are gaps that can be exploited to kill the creature.
  6. Light side of the Force - Like most Sithspawn, direct applications of the light side will kill the Wyvern.
CULTURE
  • Diet: Silicates, such as rock
  • Communication: Screeches among themselves, indecipherable to sentient species
  • Technology level: No technology level
  • Religion/Beliefs: No religion or belief system
  • General behavior: Aggressive is the easiest way to sum up the Wyvern's general behavior. When it is not nesting and eating rock and other silicas, the Wyvern is constantly circling its territory for anything that strays into it, besides its dark side masters. The Wyverns have a swarm mentality when attacking, often attacking enemies in groups ranging from six to ten individual creatures at any given time, which precludes a pack mentality as solitary Wyverns are never seen and they nest in groups.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION

The Wyvern marks Eldaah and her Master's most ambitious project yet in their continued creation of new Sithspawn creatures. Working out of a hidden facility in the mountains of the world Farstone, her Master had a sizable population of Xandu transported from Iego to act as the base creature for their new airborne Sithspawn.

Beginning their adaptation process, Eldaah would take a back seat in the project as an observer while her Master worked. The first step her master undertook was changing the digestive system of the Xandu after studying the digestive system of stone mites, making it so the creature could survive by eating rock and other silica. This was all done in part because of the second new aspect her Master was introducing into the creature. After studying the yaret-kor favored by the Yuuzhan Vong, her Master created a simulacra of the creature and fused it into the tail of the base Xandu creature, essentially introducing a symbiotic organism tied into the creature's digestive tract. This was done to allow the creature to have a projectile attack where it can use the consumed rocky matter and convert it into a type of bio-plasma. However, because of this, it can run out of projectiles if it hasn't eaten enough rocky matter, and even then, it will eventually run out even after a big meal.

Her Master then increased the size and strength of the wings, allowing the creature to be airborne for long periods of time. However, the membranes of the wings are fragile and if they are damaged even a little, the creature can't fly. Armored chitin was grown across the main part of the Wyvern's body in segmented plates, roughly equal to quality five armor, but gaps in the armor can be exploited. Her Master also induced a second set of specialized lungs, under the direct control of the Wyvern in a manner that her Master had heard Muuns could do with their three hearts, to allow it to breathe in Type II atmospheres along with Type I atmospheres.

The creature's eyes, through this process, were rendered completely inert as a side effect, so her Master created the work around of giving the creature echolocation much like other bat species to allow it the ability to observe its surroundings and enemies. However, if attacked with a sonic wave or weapon, their echolocation will be overwhelmed and they will flee whatever is causing the sound.

Like many other Sithspawn, direct applications of the light side can kill the Wyvern

Strengths and weaknesses balance out as far as I'm concerned. The Vong thing gave me pause until I realized that you were imitating, rather than incorporating, a yaret-kor. If you could use standard Codex image citation format, I think we'll be good to go.
