OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Name: Misini Arira - High Sith for Battle Drake
  • Designation: Non-sentient
  • Origins:
  • Average Lifespan: 60 to 65 Galactic Standard Years
  • Estimated Population: Planetary
  • Description: Misini Arira, or Battle Drakes, are a new fearsome Sithspawn that are designed as an aerial assault unit by the Lady of Secrets and her followers and mounts for specially trained riders. Covered in armored scales and gifted with an improved ability to unleash fire and destruction on enemy units, the drakes can swiftly alter a battlefield with their presences. Survivors of their attacks should beware as well for the venom of the drake can allow them to follow their prey for days or weeks on end to ensure the job is finished.
PHYSICAL INFORMATION
  • Breathes: Type I
  • Average Height of Adults: 7 meters
  • Average Length of Adults: N/A
  • Skin color: Their scales can vary between various shades of gray, verging on black, while the ridge lines that run along their scales can vary between various orange and yellow shades. Their skin itself, where visible, is a lighter, ashy gray color.
  • Hair color: No hair
  • Distinctions: The most distinctive physical features of one of these drakes are the large wings that dominate their bodies, along with their whip-like tail and piercing yellow eyes. Individuals can also develop more unique features, such as different horns, depending upon their environment and if they have bonded with a Force user. Drakes that have bonded can gain more unique colorations and features based on the personality and Force presences of the bonded Force user.
  • Races: No other races at present
  • Force Sensitivity: Non-Sensitive
Strengths:
  • Held over by the original Arkanian Dragon specimen, the scales that cover the bodies of the drakes are particularly strong. Infantry style weapons, such as blasters, vibroweapons, or slugthrowers, have very little effect on the scaly armor the drakes, and lightsabers have a tough time of burning through the armor, but can eventually pierce through it.
  • Another carry over from their origins, although enhanced by Darth Arcanix and her alchemists, is the ability of these drakes to breathe fire. The drakes can unleash their inner flames in long continuous breath attacks or as concentrated balls of plasma-like fire that explode upon contact.
  • An addition from the Nashtah creature native to Dra III is a peculiar venom that, when a being or creature is wounded by the teeth or spines on the tail of the drake, essentially marks it for the drake to track. The venom lingers within the victim's body and blood for roughly a month before it expires, and as long as the drake and the victim are on the same planet, it can eventually track them down, making them expert hunters.
  • Due to the large and powerful wings and bodies of the drakes, they can easily take flight and maintain it for long periods of time and carry loads equal to their weight.
  • While the creatures are not Force Sensitive themselves, Darth Arcanix also gifted them an ability through her alchemy that allows them to imprint upon a rider. This imprinting makes that drake completely loyal to that rider, non-Force user or Force user, but if the rider is a Force Sensitive, their personalities and alignment can begin to alter the drake into a new form.
    • Any major alterations caused by a Force Sensitive rider would require its own submission to reflect the changes and any added strengths they want to give the drake.
Weaknesses:
  • While the scales that cover their bodies are incredibly strong, heavier weapons such as those found on vehicles have a much easier time piercing through the defenses of the drake.
  • If the drake unleashes its fire in its breath attack form, it can take it several long moments for it to generate enough internal heat again to breath out flames again. Likewise, it can only unleash short bursts of plasma before it needs to generate more within its body.
  • If the wings of the drake become damage, it becomes incapable of flight until the damage is healed.
  • The imprinting, while it makes the creature utterly loyal to its rider, does mean that if that rider perishes, the drake will either go on a rampage until it is put down or will attempt to follow its master to the Netherworld. The imprinting changes from a Force Sensitive can also give it additional weaknesses born from the personality and alignment of their master.
    • Any major alterations caused by a Force Sensitive rider would require its own submission to reflect the changes and any added weaknesses they want to give the drake.
CULTURE
  • Diet: Carnivore
  • Communication: They communicate with others of their species through roars, shriek, and other animalistic sounds. They can also understand commands given in the Sith language or passed to them through the Force by a Sith beastmaster or their rider. They can gain the ability to understand Galactic Basic only if they have bonded with a rider, but only phrases and commands that are more simplistic.
  • Technology level: No technology level
  • Religion/Beliefs: No religion or belief system
  • General behavior:
    • When left to their own devices, whether they be wild or bonded, the drakes are naturally aggressive and territorial creatures. Many prefer to maintain aeries in mountainous terrain, establishing a range of territory around their lair that stretches for several kilometers. Creatures and beings that wander into these ranges without proper protection from beastmasters or other means of controlling the drakes must keep a wary eye to the sky as the creatures prefer to attack from above and stay in the air as long as possible.
    • When deployed on the battlefield, they serve the role of armored attack mount for specially trained riders and Force users or aerial assault by beastmasters directing their actions. They will utilize hit-and-run attacks at first, unleashing gouts of flame and plasma from above to disrupt enemy positions, before swooping down to attack enemy forces that have been scattered by their previous efforts.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION

As part of a renewed Sithspawn creation program for the new era of the galaxy, Darth Arcanix and her cabal of alchemists and sorcerers began experimenting on Arkanian Dragon specimens secretly captured and imported from Arkania or cloned from genetic stock kept at facility of the moon of Misic around Amaltanna. The goal was to create the first in a new generation of mounts for Sith and other specially trained units to possibly use for aerial assault and support, something that could be strong enough in battle on its own and able to be transported easier than larger winged mounts. The result of the initial experiments would be the Misini Arira or Battle Drake in the Sith language.

The altered drakes retained their incredibly strong armored scales, allowing the creatures to easily sustain assault from infantry-grade weapons and lightsabers, along with the ability to breathe fire being improved upon through alchemy. The drakes could now unleash their flames in long continuous gouts, individual plasma-like balls of fire, or even short bursts of the plasma, plasma that would explode on contact with a surface to further disrupt enemy positions. One of the more unique features of the drakes was introduced through genetic manipulation and introduction of nashtah gene sequences to allow the drake to produce a similar venom as the reptile natives of Dra III in their saliva and the spine on their tails. Those injured by either could be tracked by the drake for roughly a month while they remained on the same planet, creating effective hunters.

The other far more unique ability granted to the creatures through Arcanix's alchemy and sorcery was an adaptive imprinting for the drakes, allowing them to become completely loyal to a bonded rider. If the rider was Force Sensitive, the drake's body would begin to undergo alterations from that bond based on the Force user's personality and alignment within the Force, creating the potential for more specialized variations of the drakes.
