OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Name: Weaver
  • Designation: Sentient
  • Origins: Valrar
  • Average Lifespan: 70 Galactic Standard Years
  • Estimated Population: Rare
  • Description: While they appear similar to their Spinner cousins, Weavers are much more advanced bioengineers and Sithspawn creators. Spindly limbs can rapidly work over a victim or biomass to create any creature that they have sampled, or in their mind, improve upon their form and genome.
PHYSICAL INFORMATION
  • Breathes: Type I
  • Average Height of Adults: 5 meters
  • Average Length of Adults: 6 meters
  • Skin color: Various shades of gray into an off-white on their undersides while the glowing growths on their backs are a sickly white.
  • Hair color: No hair
  • Distinctions: The most distinctive physical traits of the Weavers are their many spindly limbs that they use to reshape biomass and the bulbous yellow growths where they store the DNA sequences they have learned. Weavers do not have any physical gender differences, although males of the sentient Sithspawn species generally have a greater compulsion to consume.
  • Races: No other races
  • Force Sensitivity: All (Although they are limited in what they can or even want to learn)
Strengths:
  • Much like their Spinner cousins, Weavers are designed to create and experiment with lesser Sithspawn monsters or even other bioengineered creations they design for their masters. Some examples of creatures they can create from biomass are:
  • Also like their Spinner cousins, Weavers are able to create biomass to shape into other creations by wrapping a victim or subject into a cocoon with their appendages and dissolving them into an organic goo they can reshape, much like how some larva turn into butterflies or moths.
  • Weavers are able to store specific DNA sequences in the bulbous growths on their backs that act like organic memory banks, but unlike the Spinners, the addition of Columi DNA has greatly enhanced their ability to store this genome data. Weavers gain the DNA structures by consuming specimens, sometimes only needing a part or two or sometimes eating an entire specimen.
  • Weavers have a greater degree of freedom and sentience than their Spinner cousins, and the Lady of Secrets has even given the ability to control limited hordes of Sithspawn through an instinctive control of Beast Control.
  • Weavers, unlike Spinners, have also been granted a limited Force Sensitivity as they can only learn or excel at a few different powers such as:
Weaknesses:
  • Weavers are not designed for combat. Blaster bolts, slugthrowers, lightsabers, etc. can easily kill or injure the creatures and they have very limited offensive capabilities of their own.
  • Direct applications of the light side of the Force, such as Force Light, can seriously injure or outright kill Weavers.
  • Higher tier Sithspawn that would require the presence and skill of a Sith Master are beyond their reach normally even if they have consumed the DNA samples for such, much to their chagrin. However, if taken as an apprentice and taught for several years, it is possible for them to learn how.
  • Depending on the size of the creature they are working on, it can take anywhere from a few hours (smaller creatures) to a couple of days (larger creatures) for the process to be completed and the creation being able to emerge from their shaping cocoon.
  • If they are ever in a Force nullification field, whether that be created by an ysalamiri or void stone, they lose all aspects of their Force Sensitivity and if they are trapped for a prolonged period, they can begin losing parts of their stored genome sequences.
CULTURE
  • Diet: Omnivore (Carnivore in most cases, but they will consume certain plants and such if they have a useful component such as toxin or other that they want to keep within their DNA banks)
  • Communication: Can speak and understand Galactic Basic and ur-Kittat (the Sith language), and have the capacity to learn other language if they are taught them.
  • Technology level: Weavers are able to utilize Galactic Standard technology, however they find it inferior in most cases and will bioengineer something to be an analogue to technologies.
  • Religion/Beliefs: While they have no organized religious beliefs, Weavers believe that the acquisition of DNA and the creation and experimentation on biological specimens is the highest ideal. They jointly believe that their work is necessary to advance the evolution of creatures within the galaxy, whether those creatures or beings want to be evolved or not.
  • General behavior:
    • Weavers consider themselves artisans in the field of bioengineering and Sithspawn creation, with much of their burgeoning culture and society revolving around both of those twisted sciences. Weavers are, to an individual, very arrogant in their beliefs that besides their Sith Masters, they are superior to any other species that specialize in these sciences, including their Spinner cousins, Arkanians and Yuuzhan Vong. Weavers are also extremely jealous of others of their race, and it is not uncommon for them to attempt to consume their rivals' work to possibly learn some new sequences or even sabotage projects that have been a long term design.
    • In a rudimentary way, Weavers have created a guild system among themselves and recruited Spinners, although whichever Weaver that leads these guilds is constantly changing because of their cutthroat attitude towards their rivals. Each guild specialize in different creations and have taken on names in the Sith language that align with their work such as:
      • Kursos - Sithspawn Monsters and Bio-creations that are designed around physical prowress
      • Tuoshina - Sithspawn Monsters and Bio-creations that are designed around toxins and poisons
      • Tsosu - Sithspawn Monsters and Bio-creations that are designed around stealth and deception
      • Dowira - Sithspawn Monsters and Bio-creations that are designed around healing and support abilities
      • Iotzurt - Altering Yuuzhan Vong creations
HISTORICAL INFORMATION

In the current spree of enhancing some of her older Sithspawn creations, Darth Arcanix thought she would begin working on augmenting one of the sentient races on the planet. Spinners had been designed to be Sithspawn creators, constantly attempting to acquire genomes and experimenting to please their dark mistress. However, Darth Arcanix felt they could even themselves be improved upon, and asked several to volunteer for enhancement, which they all agreed to.

Introducing Columi DNA into the Spinners and putting them through an empowerment ritual of her own creation resulted in a new breed that she dubbed Weavers. These enhanced creatures, much like their lesser Spinner cousins, were essentially organic DNA computers, but with a vastly improved memory capacity and brain function. Weavers were gifted with a connection to the dark side of the Force, although limited in capacity, and were able to spin biomass into new creations faster than Spinners. Weavers were also no longer limited to just Sithspawn creation, but began branching out to other bioengineered creations, all in pursuit of their ultimate goal of acquiring even more genomes to experiment with.

The Weavers were released into the ecosystem of Valrar, and began crafting their place within the jungles of the planet. Unlike their Spinner cousins, they actually were interested in forming some sort of society, with several groups banding together into a loose sort of guild that would specialize in different creations and methods, although the jealous and acquisitive nature of Weavers meant that the internal rivalries within their new guilds were just as fierce as their external ones. Through it all, the Lady of Secrets encouraged their development and was fascinated to see what they might create.

Hey this is another great sub. There are a couple of things. so ley's jump in.

Distinctions | Pretty sure this was a goof on your part, but you did not actually fill out the distinctions field in the sub.

Strengths and Weaknesses | Since you have listed the force sensitivity of this species they cannot have a natural proficiency in beast control. According to species creation rules:

Completely Force-sensitive species may not start off with fully developed Force Powers. That is a matter of the individual, not the race. They are born force sensitive, but that is a potential, rather than an absolute. All Force-sensitive species may have passive abilities that do not require training (improved reflexes, low grade pre-cog, etc), but are prohibited from having active abilities (force lightning, telekinesis, etc). Exceptions are made for artificially engineered species (Sithspawn, etc), if they have been tailored for specific abilities. Racial abilities that are not affiliated with the Force (Ex. Zeltron Empathy/Pheromones) are exempted from this. These species should include appropriate weaknesses, such as difficulties with Force Null fields.

Also since the entire species is force sensitive you will need to account for the appropriate weakness of force null effects.

I did notice in the history you mention they may be Sithspawn which would crreate an exception here. Perhaps that miss is because the distinctions field got skipped. If that is the case we can work that out once all of that is taken care of. However if these are not Sithspawn you will need to remove the instinctive control beast control from the strengths.

I think these edits should do it. Tag me when you are ready for me to take another look!
